Need to unlock phone after Factory reset. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

So I bought my Galaxy s6 edge from a friend and first thing I did was hard reset it. I turned it on afterwords and connected it to WiFi. After that it said that"Due to an abnormal factory reset, you must enter the Samsung account information that was saved on this phone." I tried getting ahold of my friend and asking him, but he said he didn't remember the info as he hadn't used in in over a year. Can anyone help me?

Flash it with its original stock ROM. Everything will go back to normal.

[Q] Big black BRICK

Has anyone had this happen to them? Axura beta 4 was running quirky so i flashed my phone with odin 3 and then did a factory format *2767*3855#
to clear everything that odin did not. Everything nice and new all bloated and what not, thought I would give the samsung update a try "so i could use kies again" then the phone prompted to restart and did so but without the starting back up thing. I tried everything from puling the battery, download mode, recovery mode and cussing furiously at it and it did nothing. What went wrong? Is samsung gonna be able to see if i rooted the phone and all even after I did all the formatting? Before I did the update I checked to see what all was on the phone and it was like out of the box.........
Sickmutt
Happened to me when JH7 just came out. Phone was a paperweight. No power would go to the phone at all.
I exchanged it at the AT&T store...
As for them checking the root - doubt it and you reverted to stock regardless.
dang att sent me to samsung to get my phone fixed instead of helping me. that sucks that my phone gets bricked by a factory update
thanks for the fast response

Tab Won't Factory Reset

i've got a galaxy tab, no custom roms, not even rooted and i can't reset it. when i go to Privacy-->factory reset, it will boot into the boot menu, and i do the data and cache wipe from there, then it will only reset the homescreen. my accounts and data stays on the device. i've seen the problem once online, but can't seem to find anymore topics on it. does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I'm having the same exact problem. I can't seem to find a way around it, and I suppose I will have to send it in if I don't want to go into ODIN and deal with it that way.
Same issue
I'm having the same issue.
It does not matter how I do it the result is the same.
The 3G information is wiped out, all the applications are messed up, but my Gmail account, Facebook and accounts are still there. If I manually remove all the accounts using account manager, when I reboot the tab, they're all back!
I've tried:
Menu > Settings > Privacy > facotry reset
and I've tried holding down the Volume Up button while booting and selecting facotry reset and clear cache. No good...
At this point I'm being sent a new Tablet, but I really want my personal information cleared before I send it back. How can I "jack" it up? I've looked for a Verizon ROM to see if I can put that back on using the SD card, hoping that would wipe it, but can't seem to find one. Or any CDMA Rom that might wipe everything out.
After I had this issue I even installed z4Root and rooted teh phone, hopeing to use an App that remote wipes, but the results were the same and NOW the SuperUser force closes everytime I try to open it. In fact, almost all the apps seem to force close when starting them EXCEPT market and Gmail.
Help!
--- update----
Changed my passwords on Gmail, Facebook and Twitter. After about 30 minutes the tablet finally stopped displaying my information and started prompting for passwords.
This is an old thread but I'm having the same problem with my Sprint Galaxy Tab. Factory resetting through recovery mode, settings, flashing a new rom, etc don't work and pretty much every app crashes as soon as the tab boots.
Anything I can do before sending it in?
Anyone else facing this problem? I did have two google account in my tab. I would like to remove one of it which I dont use anymore. BUT the system request me to factory reset if I want to remove the account.
BUT the problem is, i'm afraid if I reset, others problem will come later.
I always heard people taking "Don't fixed it if its aint broken". LOL
So, over my curiosity to see either this "unable to remove account" is a common problem which involve my tab also or not?
Curiosity kill the cat!!
haha..so afraid now...
same issue

hello all,
i know that this thread is very old. but i faced this problem now, i want to know if flashing the stock ROM will solve this problem or the only option is to change the motherboard. As my tab is out of warranty and this will cost me a lot to get motherboard changed
thanks in advance.

Hi to all, Ok I have an Att Samsung Captivate with 2.3.5 rooted. Thing is, after I did the upgrade everytime I turn on WiFi or plug the USB cable a very annoying message about Tethering force close appears. I read that to fix it I have to do a factory reset but I cant understand how to do that and what will be lost in that process.
If someone knows another fix for this message pls share it. Thanks in advance!

factoey reset will delete all the apps message contact etc from the device completely i will not touch the sdcard at all
to do factory reset go to setting- backup and restore- factory data reset and it will ask you the google account password if you have linked it then phone will restart and will dovthe reset
I got annoyed with as well. Decided to go down the custom rom route and flashed Legend. The problem has gone away and I'll never look back. Since warranty and support from ATT are no longer any issue, I'd urge you to go that route.

[Q] nexus 6 keeps disappearing from android device manager

Hi all. So here's the skinny:
I've got a Verizon nexus 6, unlocked boot loader and rooted running 5.1.
No other mod except for the net tethering provision.
I did a factory reset this morning because my device wasn't showing up on ADM. It shows up in Google play via the website, and I'm able to install apps to it from there.
I have gone through all the basic troubleshooting steps Googling could afford me. After the factory reset, it showed up in ADM. But when I checked again just now, it's gone again. That was one of the primary reasons I did the reset (which was a pain in the butt by the way because I had a pin-at-boot and even after telling the phone to do a factory reset twice, it didn't go away until telling it to in the boot loader menu).
I'm pretty frustrated now, because I went through a lot of hassle to fix it... And with no SD card, titanium backup is out the window too.
Does anybody have a solution or has someone else experienced this?

Upgraded to Nougat - Phone froze on reboot, forced to wipe data. HELP!

I have a stock AT&T G6, got it when the phone first came out, and I haven't touched the firmware. Update after update, no problems.
Finally this morning my phone had enough - I performed a system update. However during the reboot, the phone froze for 30 minutes on the AT&T logo. Nothing changed.
Reset phone, nothing changed, 15 minutes no change. Reset phone to recovery mode - wipe cache - reset phone. Same thing - stuck at AT&T logo.
Finally I had enough - I did a full Factory reset. AT LAST! After 8 painful minutes stuck at the AT&T logo, my phone came to life and welcomed me to my new phone (FML).
So here I am with a freshly loaded copy of my new Nougat 7.0 software on my AT&T Build ( NRD90M.G920AUCS6EQF1 ) and I am desperately trying to run every possible data recovery option possible.
I WANT to recover my photos and SMS messages before I start using my phone. But I can't - every app I've run shows no results. Everything I'm seeing shows I need to root this phone to make it work.
Unfortunately I have no clue htf to do that. Every instruction I find online does not include my build version. My phone is turned off and not used until I recover this data. I would appreciate any help I can get in recovering this data!

No known root for current builds to my knowledge. Don't know if anyone is still picking away at it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Development on this device has been almost silent for many months.
