Hello everyone!
I got the sprint note 5 running android nougat a few days ago but i'm having a problem... I doesn't let me use 4G Lte and that is a must for me. (Because of how data plans are here). I did some research regarding this device and it seems like its identical to the international note 5 which made me assume that the only thing blocking me from the 4g is the system installed in this phone. What i want to know is: Will i have 4G/LTE if i flash twrp and install a custom rom? The band i need is B7 (2600).
Your help would mean a lot.
Thanks!
PS: If I can't get this to work with 4g ill have to get a verizon note 5 which, from my past experience with verizon devices should have a locked bootloader and pretty much i'll be stuck to android 7.0 :crying:
-Configure your APNs and reboot
-Get your phone unlocked by Octoplus box
-Yeah, you could try a custom ROM

I think the title says it all. I have a European One and now an AT&T 32 GB One that is unlocked now with a custom recovery. Is there a custom ROM available yet that will work with the AT&T phone? And will LTE work with that ROM if one does in fact exist already? Thanks!

The first thing I did when I received my Att One, was to unlock it, flash recovery, root, and flash TrickDroid 4.0. LTE worked right off the bat, however I'm only showing 1 signal bar no matter where I am. I still get full LTE speeds, though; so it may just be a bug in the signal bar. And I believe all the roms currently support Att LTE network.
Thanks! I may flash TrickDroid after church. LTE is about 35 miles from where I live so its not so easy to tell. Maybe the signal bars will get straightened out soon. Hey! Maybe I won't even have that problem! Have a great day Pinkthesink.
Hey guys,
Upon reading through the threads, I wasn't able to find specifics to what I'm looking for.... it's apparent that the support has stopped for this issue, which I completely understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have an unlocked ATT Note 3 on (NJ5) to be used on T-Mobile.
I'm wanting to downgrade from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2 to get back to (NC2).
Can someone confirm the following: (Please add to it if I'm missing something)
Odin ATT 4.4.2 (NC2) - Anyone have the direct link?
Root - Best method?
Safestrap work around? Is this the correct thread? How about this?
Planning to flash ATT FireKat (TouchWiz based) ROM....
From my understanding:
I only have one shot at this, therefore, I want to make sure that all my ducks are in a row before doing this as a "mistake," isn't an option right? I only have one shot at this or Hard brick yes?
Questions:
After successfully doing all this, with the correct TM APN settings, will the ATT phone be able to use all TM's bands? LTE 1700, Band 4 etc....
What are any drawbacks of using the ATT N3 on TM, if any? (I'll be happy with 4.4.2 so no worries on any fancy updates.)
The phones currently unlocked right now. Will doing the steps above lock the phone back up?
Is this all worth it or should I just sell the ATT N3 and buy a TM branded one?
Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!
* I hope this post also helps anyone in the future that's in the same boat as I am.

this will give you 100% stock nc2.
Best way to root is with towel root.
with safestrap you do not need a workaround as it works perfect on nc2 you only need to do a workaround if you would like to go to 4.4.4...And for the record I've done a lot of flashing of random stuff that came from here and I did myself and I'm yet to hard brick or come from a point of no return.
all those t-mobile questions I can't answer cause t-mobile is crap in my area..
Hope this helps!

Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate it.
To confirm:
From a dead stop (the state my phone is at right now on NJ5)...
1. Odin NC2. (Which one specifically shall I download? I see a bunch of different links.)
2. Towel Root.
3. Put the TM Sim in...add APN's...
4. Flash ROM if desired...
5. Good to go?
Just need these 4... and if you want to rom you need to install busy box and safestrap after you root with towel root. Then yea should be good to go!

Gotcha. Thanks!
Oh and would you happen to know if the ATT device has the 1700 band (band 4) to support TM's LTE? I remember with the older devices ATT branded phones didn't have the 1700 build in, but now I'm thinking it might be different....hhmm
Also, it is unlocked right now...will the phone lock itself after all this?

Help on using 4G LTE in Pakistan
I have just received my AT&T Samsung Note 3 model SM N900A and am using it in Pakistan with warid network. I received the sim unlock code from AT&T. Warid is giving us 4G LTE service but my cell does not work on it. Since warid is not giving 3G service, my cell just connects using edge which is very slow. I actually bought Note 3 for 4G LTE but due to some reason its not working. The carrier people have no answer except that my set is not supported by their system. Can you kindly help? My set is not rooted.
Warid 4G LTE is working on 1800Mhz FDD Band 3 which is supported by my set. Other device parameters are as below:
Baseband version N900AUCUBMJ5
kERNEL VERSION 3.4.0-1625098
[email protected] #1
build JSS15J.N900AUCUBMJ5
Android version 4.3
And I would also like to know if I can update my set to newer android version or not?
Awaiting your positive response.

Question, are these files also downgrade the modem firmware to match the 4.4.2 ROM?
The reason I want to downgrade to 4.4.2, is to fix the GPS signal issue we all AT&T Note 3 owners having after the 4.4.4 update. Does anyone downgraded to 4.4.2 and GPS issues fixed?
Haven't had a note in a while and thinking about picking up a note 4. I am with T-Mobile and would purchase the T-Mobile version, I read about different variants and just wanted to make sure they could all be rooted, custom recovery and flashed without issue. In some of the threads here when people have issues, others ask what variant, etc.
Thanks

Get the sm-n910t (t-mobile version). Very mod friendly.
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
The T-Mobile version comes with the bootloader unlocked out of the box. You can do whatever you want with/to it.
I just purchase a T-Mobile Note 4 on 11/17/15 from one of their store. The model that I got is the SM-N910T3 and not SM-N910T. It comes with Android 5.1.1 installed instead of 4.4.4. You will probably end up with this model. Does anyone know if this variant is still bootloader unlocked? I also read that the TW 5.1.1 rom has root blocking enabled by Samsung, can anyone recommend a custom kernel that can override this to prevent a bootloop?
T is better for ROM Support VS. T3. T3 may be smooother

You want the T version for more ROM compatibility. The T3 version can be rooted and has a few ROMS but supposedly Samsung changed something in the phone so it has alot less ROM support. It does have root and 1 or 2 good ROM's though.
Root for T3
More info on T3

Did you ever end up buying this phone? I have been thinking about picking up a used one on Swappa to use as my daily driver until Samsung releases the S8 or Note 8. I currently have a LG V10 and even though it has an unlocked bootloater and root, there is zero ROM development for it due to issues with LG firmware/drivers.
Hello I have a verizon note 4 and am using it on tmobile my question is this, Now that the 910v can be rooted what happens if I root it and download a tmobile rom and install it on the phone? Will it work or will it brick the phone? I have no idea if there is any real difference between the verizon note and the tmobile note besides the carrier. Any input would be appreciated as I cant stand the verizon bloatware and would love to have my tmobile stuff back
thanks in advance
As far I know not possible
Tmobile is GSM model and verizon is CDMA frequency bands different.
I did something similar with AT&T G2 and loaded a Tmobile ROM on it. First you need root and TWRP or equivalent. and then some developer have to created a modified bootstack that are tailored for your phone model to work with the rom. Once you load the bootstack, then you load the rom without the radio. Not for the faint of heart.
I've just been informed our organization is switching to T-Mobile. We don't get new phones (darn!!). We do get our old Sprint phones unlocked. My phone is a Note 5 (N920P). I understand it to be capable of using T-Mobile once it is unlocked.
BUT.... I could use some pointers to the newest Samsung-based rom - I hope an S7/S8/N7/N8 (aka Note 7 or 8 or even later) touchwiz-based rom - that is stable and would run fine on my (unlocked) N920P with T-Mobile as carrier.
ANY help welcome. I've flashed a lot of roms, but would appreciate a little help and saving myself from having to try every rom I find here.
THANK YOU.

I've been using my N920P unlocked Variant for about 1.5 years now.
But i have it on 6.0.1 still and i do not plan to upgrade it to N. Because after upgrading to N i cannot go back to 6.0.1 anymore.
How's the battery life on android N?
