Will the newest Oreo Nitrogen work with ElementalX and Magisk? I tried installing them earlier, but it caused a boot failure. I flashed the ROM and the gapps, booted, did general setup, then did EX followed by Magisk. Did I do something wrong or does the combo just not work with Nitrogen OS Oreo? I know I know... Logcats... Maybe later. I'm just looking to know if it "should" work.

at least Magisk 14.5 works. I have the latest Nitrogen Oreo version 8.1.0._r1 (18.12) up an running with Magisk 14.5. I have not installed ElementalX.
No issues so far.
This post from Ex thread indicates it works with 8.0 ROMs. Not yet with 8.1. Subsequent posts also indicate it's running on Nitrogen 8.0.

you should try install elementalX 5.01 or 5.02
I ran 5.01 on 8.1 and it ran fine.
I might give 5.01 or 2 a try later when I have some free time. I did get it to run with just Magisk, but I was not able to get Vudu to think it was non-rooted via Magisk Hide. I use Vudu a lot, so I need that to run. I've gone back to the last Pure Nexus for the time being.
Could you point me in the direction of the proper download for 5.02 EX? https://elementalx.org/devices/nexus-6/ shows 4.27 as the latest.

I am about to install Magisk 12.0 but never used Magisk before and suddenly unsure if I need something together with Magisk, like SuperSU or similar?

Also, I see there is some talk about needing to install latest dm-verity and forced encryption disabler? I am running stock OOS 4.1.3 and just need root and perhaps install a custom kernel, for now .
Never mind.. Took a chance and installed twrp, Magisk 12 and Franco kernel and everything seems to be working...

Pure Nexus - Doesnt work with magisk
Lineage doesnt work at all - rooted or not
Dirty Unicorns works, however apps crash.
Trying nitrogen os now

Works for me with PureNexus and Magisk v12. Just make sure you turn on Magisk Hide.

Tried a couple of times - worked with 11.x
I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
On latest Lineage with Franco Kernel + Magisk and passing safetynet. I have my card set up successfully with Android Pay but I haven't had a chance to actually test it, but I am definitely passing SN. Netflix shows up on Play Store as well.
I did a complete wipe, installed Lineage + Gapps, booted phone, then shut down phone and installed Franco Kernel, booted, shut down and then installed Magisk. I kept booting after flashes to check if Safetynet was being passed. It was not until I installed Magisk and used Magisk hide.
Google Strock Rom + ElementalX Kernel + Magisk 12.0 with suhide also works

Don't enable Magisk busybox on Pure Nexus. There'll be a conflict with the ROM's busybox and it breaks Magisk Hide.
Because of issues like this (and others), busybox will no longer be included in Magisk starting with the next version.

^This! Can confirm and I am running PN with Magisk, Android Pay works, Netflix appears in Playstore.
I've been using Android Pay with Pure Nexus & magisk for the past several months w/o any issues.

Works with Dirty Unicorns / Magisk 12 .... I've noticed some form of weird volume issue where my volume lowers to reallllly low levels... so I'm looking for another ROM where it works and that has SmartBar Navigation customization.
Using PN latest ROM, with Magisk Hide enabled. Never had any problems, because it passes safety net every time
I flashed the new Oreo OTA with Magisk 14.1 and everything worked just fine. Custom font and everything working. I noticed Viper4Android kept crashing so i reinstalled that module for Magisk and now none of my Magisk modules work. I've reflashed back to 4.5 OOS and then back to Oreo, reflashed Magisk, nothing is working. I seriously need help.
Well, I don't know about OOS 5.0, but why are you using Magisk V14.1? V14.3 came out ages ago, and it is the only confirmed working version on the latest Open Beta 18. I've no issues with 14.3, all modules are working perfectly. Except the ones that are not compatible with Oreo
Please try Magisk 14.3, and see if the issue persists.
My device is F variant and currently on custom ROM dotOS 8.1.
Netflix perfectly worked when I was on Touchwiz 6.0, 7.0, 7.1, 8.1 custom ROMs, stock ones, rooted with Magisk and even xposed installed, no matter if certified Play Store is or what SafetyNet status is.
It seems it only works for Touchwiz but the battery experience is worse than that of custom ROM.
I tried installing many versions of Netflix but it still doesnt work on custom ROM.
Even though I have tried a lot of ways to resolve the issue:
- Clean flash custom ROM and Gapps.
- Clean flash only custom ROM and sideload the apk.
- Clean flash custom ROM, Gaaps, Oxygen Kernel, rooted with Magisk, enable Netflix in Magisk Hide.
- Tried the apk Netflix provides for the problem.
- Tried Magisk Hide Props module, the app appeared in Store due to SafetyNet but still the issue.
- Tried Magisk module liboemcrypto.so
- Tried browsing netflix but it said widevine drm not available.
Has anyone had netflix working on dotOS 8.1 please help

I'm trying again his LineageOS with updated drm as he mentioned
I did a fresh install of lineage os and now Snapchat is working through Aurora storw idk why but that's sick I don't even micro g clutter..no need for microg now. Is this a new thing?
I couldn't get signature spoofing working on the latest lineage os then decided install lineage os for micro g and then I finally decided to just do a fresh install of linage os and leave it untouched then I downloaded snpachat and installed it it works fine but when I open it it tells me Snapchat doesn't work without google services but it still runs fine and it ran when I wasn't passing safetynet on the previous install as well so I don't think its a fluke
