Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016)
This phone is very fragile. When you drop your phone at the stomach level, your screen is dead (without cover). The replacement of the touchscreen is 2/3 of the phone's original price. Be sure to buy a cover for your phone!!!

The user experience is good but not great

Hi guys is it possible to put android 5.0.0 on this phone?
Thanks

[Q] Screen Compared to Galaxy Nexus?

Since both phones have a Super AMOLED display, does anyone know how the screens between the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy Note compare?
Coming from a Galaxy S2 (Super AMOLED+) prior to the Galaxy Nexus, I have to say I'm very disappointed in the Galaxy Nexus screen. Banding, grain, terrible low light/brightness quality, etc...
The following post shows exactly what the screen on my Galaxy Nexus looks like.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394358
However, I'm very tempted to pick up a Galaxy Note as a daily driver but if the screen looks like my Galaxy Nexus, I may think twice about it.
Anyone here have and/or used both able to comment?
Thanks!
It seems the note has the same issues as our nexus with the display. Banding, grainy at low brightness, etc. Its due to Samsung new production process of amoled. It will get fixed over time with later upcoming phones.

[Q] Galaxy S5 mini or Galaxy note 3 neo ?

Hello Everyone ,
i have a little question
I had already a samsung galaxy s4 value edition, and I have already solded , and now i want a buy a another smartphone
which is the best? Samsung galaxy note 3 neo or Samsung galaxy s5 mini ( Finger print i love it hihi but check this comment from another member for finger print http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55297050&postcount=4 his say isn't fluid ) , or i buy again s4 value edtion
Sorry for my bad english
Purchase the the mini s5. :good:
I have no problems with fingerprint.
Runs very well. :good:
In addition, we need here in the mini forum every man.
Maybe you're a dev and can make good Roms for us... :fingers-crossed:
Purchase the S5 mini brother ! :highfive:
thank you very much , i have another question , for battery life is it good ? I await the opinions of other people and i I'll buy
I recommend Note 3 Neo because it has the s-pen which is great, it's bigger than S5 mini with 1 inch and it's more performance. You need to thing two times before you buy one of these phone. Note 3 neo is performance, but s5 mini has a fingerprint sensor and it is water resistence.

Ok the battery is only 2100mAh and the Neo has 3100 mAh.
My phone is now running 17 hours and I still have 68%.
I make some phone calls, internet and email.
But you have to decide now.
The mini has some features that the neo has not.
Fingerprint, Heart Rate Monitor, Waterproof ...
@ Radu27
Yes S-Pen is good.I also have a Galaxy Note 2. :good:
The two phones are very different. We got both in our family. The note neo is the big one which you can use best with both hands. The S-pen is a goodie but is not often used. The display is very good and the os works fluid.
The S5 mini is my new favorite. It's perfect to use with one hand, very fast and got an very sharp and detailed display! The fingerprint sensor never got any problem.
You have to decide between a business phone (used with 2 hands) with the pen (writing or painting) or a small one which you can carry with your trousers and write with one hand!
So, I hope this will be helpful. Excuse my English.
I strongly disagree with the guy above about the S5 minis display. It's soooo far from sharp and detailed as it gets. The 720p resolution just doesn't do it on this phone. It's impossible to read small fonts and read Web pages without zooming. Unfortunately a deal breaker for me!

One of the best phones I owned.. probably in my top3. I owned phones like , Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 5x , Nexus 6p , Htc 10, Galaxy S5, Galaxy s8 , lg g2 and so on..
This phone has one flaw and it is low light camera quality. It is bad.

Apsoluteley satisfied with phone. Great battery, great performance, good quality, fast fingerprint. Camera is great during the day but I agree it is bad at low light conditions. GCam fixed that but you will need to unlock bootloader and root device.

I cannot complain anything about this phone. Cameras are great, especially now with GCam working on it, battery life is absolutely insane, fastest fingerprint I ever seen and it is liquid smooth.
So it's a huge deal!
I just want to add and say I've had so many phones over the years from Samsung to Pixel, Jiayu, Lenovo, Moto, Meizu and other Xiaomi phones. But this is the best out of them.
Camera is fine on China Stable in Lowlight. But, with gcam working, it's a perfect phone. The battery life alone makes it's a pleasure to carry.
Nice and powerful in mid price.
Best phone ever.

Galaxy note 5 buying in mid 2019 ?

well as the title says i'm really curious that is it worth buying the note 5 in mid 2019 since i was in the market to buy a phone i can find s7 and note 5 to be in the same price tag and both are in good condition and (used phones both of em) i got confused which i should buy s7 or note 5 and my bet was on the note 5 until i saw both prices and i would like to hear your guys opinion that which one should i buy. ( i wanted s-pen features coming from note 3 )
The Note 5 was a great phone. The only reason I traded it in was the amazing Note 8 promotion. I found it to be every bit as fast as the S7 and the larger flat screen is much better.
The only considerations I would make:
-The Note 5 stopped getting updates at 7.0 Nougat whereas the S7 got 8.0 Oreo.
-The Note 5 does not have Always on Display and would require a third party app for this feature where it's built into the S7
-The S7 has water resistance, the Note 5 does not.

what about xda support well i was gonna buy note 8 but since it's still have 1000$ tag in my country rip :x so i thought note 5 would be a good choice but s7 was available to and have you rooted your note 5 with any Samsung experience rom along with Gcam ? The S7 has water resistance, about this i think i should be cautious since im buying a refurbished phone

the note 5 is still a pretty solid phone and if you install a good rom you can get aod and other features too, but the development is pretty much dead, so I'd go for the s7 edge. It has a better low light camera and the xda support is comparatively better too. Also not to mention expandable storage. Have both currently and if you dont need the s pen that much the s7 edge is a better choice.

Rh phone is great, but MIUI sucks. Waiting a Pixel feeling ROM...
REALLY considering the upgrade from my F1 to the F2 pro now that there are custom roms available..
The price just needs to creep down a bit more..

So many ROMs out try it buddy
I firkin love this phone.
My feelings
I have switched from oneplus 3T to poco F2 pro after I broke the screen on op. Unfortunately MIUI was an unpleasant surprise. The system had a lot of bloatware and I consider it as a trash. Fortunately after some time ROM development started. Now after a few months the phone is a bit more usable. Next thing is that the phone is very heavy and it is not comfortable to use it. And what about camera? I use gcam as on my old op3t and quality of images is much worse than on op3t (not comparing resolution but overal image quality and colours). Another thing is a huge price loss. I have bought this phone right after premiere. My friend bought this phone 1.5 months later for 3/5 of this price. I only talk about official stores in my country, not AliExpress etc. It is unbelievable for me as other phones (OnePlus/Samsung) doesn't lose their price after that small period of time. All in all I think I made a mistake by buying this phone. I feel disappointed. I won't give Xiaomi another chance.
I find this device fantastic, especially for the incredibly low price I got it.. 300€ so ~350$ or ~270£
The only thing I don't like is that it's a "Poco" and not a real Xiaomi / Redmi, I don't like the Poco launcher which prevents removing the app drawer
Otherwise everything is excellent on the device, the best battery life I have had to date, a very good quality screen with no holes, it's quite rare now !
The sound, although not stereo, is clear and powerful
The design is quite successful, with the lens a little too prominent and the notification LED which has a slightly strange location, but the whole exudes quality and gives a good impression
Finally got it so here are some first impressions
I'm not amazed by the display , considering it's quite a step up from my F1 i tought it would be stunning but for now it's not really the case.
The size is just right i think ; it is a bit more bulky in the hand but since both screen and battery are bigger it's not a huge price to pay imho.
The speed is a difficult one ; i only worked very briefly with it , both on stock miui and CRdroid , so far i have to say it feels a little bit more snappy then the F1 but there is not a big difference here.
Battery is always a point ; it does charge quickly on the QC charger ( multiport blitzwolf , recommended ! ) and the drain so far is managable.
I was hoping on a noticeable improvement in energy usage considering the bigger cell and the led display , maybe that is something to come
So far i'm not "blow away" by my upgrade from the F1 to the F2 , it is a nice phone and hopefully it will grow on me a bit more over time
Coming from Galaxy S9, I got this phone at crazy good deal for 350 euros.
Two main reasons why I got it were pop-up camera for uninterrupted display and very good battery life.
In my experience I charge every second day, could push to three days but I never let it go under 30%.
SOT is around 8-9 hours in 48hr period.
Camera is average, but big suprise is super macro camera that is very fun to take pictures with which made me start use camera more frequently than usual. Ultra-wide camera is also great. Tried using GCam and it takes more or less same pictures.
MIUI is all right, nothing special really. There were some bugs here or there but most of them were solved by manually updating Poco Launcher.
One thing that annoys me is that Android 11 brought slight standby drain which can be neutralized by signing out from Mi Account on settings and turning off Wi-Fi overnight.
Second thing that annoys me is that, at the time, gesture navigation isn't available with 3rd party launchers, so I'm stuck with Poco Launcher for the time being.
It's nice upgrade over Galaxy S9, maybe the software isn't as polished as One UI, but battery life is three times better and most specs are banging for 350 euros. I don't regret buying it.
Still on the edge about rooting it and installing custom ROM because I will lose warranty though
