Guys, how can I increase the battery's life. I mean if I have to change rom's, delete system programs or so... I want the battery life to be longer cuz after a day and a half the battery goes off Any ideas or tweaks to increase performance and in this way to increase the battery life ?
Btw this is my Xperia X1 system information:
ROM version: SEX1-r3.57-Bare
Rom date: 06/20/09
Radio version: 1.06.25.29

Check and see if your phone as Advanced Configuration Tool. If not, go to my signature and click on "X1 Stuff" and download it from there.
Go to Start>Tools>Tweaks>Advanced Config
Power Management
Make sure everything from SDD Memory power Management to L2TP is enabled. Save. Soft-Restart.
That should help reduce power consumption, BUT it also depends on what programs you have running in the background and how you use your phone.
Another program that helps reduce the power management your phone is running in the background is HTC's Clean Ram which can be found in my signature under "X1 Stuff".

sure...
- use 3G only if you need it (i.e. for surfing)
- WiFi is very power-hungry, bluetooth too
- get nueDynamicClock
- close apps completely and not just press the "x", they'll be running in background. (for example, skype stays connected in background -> active data -> eats up battery)
- manila-roms are more power-hungry (you're on a bare-rom already, so that's no problem)
- deactivate any automatic data-traffic you don't need (weather-update, mail-checking etc...)
but: if you're using this phone to its full potential, you'll have to charge almost every night - welcome to smartphone world. if your battery hasn't degraded yet (they do over time), you'll be way over 50% in the evening, but it won't be enough for a full second day.
edit:
many people claim that an established data-connection eats up battery. from a technical point-of-view that's not true and i haven't noticed any difference when deactivating data completely.
you have do differentiate between "active" and "passive" connection.
- an active means "data is being transferred" (mail, surfing) -> this needs energy (3G/WiFi way more than GSM).
- passive means the phone will just say "hi, i'm still here" to the server from time to time to keep the connection alive. of course this needs energy as well, but almost nothing.
I use my phone only for calls and rarely to establish connections with the wifi to a server to configure some things.

This is the only thing from the listed so far that I haven't installed yet on my X1. As far as I know this thing changes the clock speed of the CPU so if I install it how to configure it ?! What's the recomended CPU clock speed to run my X1 normally ?!
- close apps completely and not just press the "x", they'll be running in background. (for example, skype stays connected in background -> active data -> eats up battery)

I do this always and after close any applications always check the Task manager and sometimes even my ActiveSync is switched on and I use "End task" to end it's process too.

But after all my battery goes off after about 36 hours ... ?!
nueDynamicClock:
you got it right what it does. install the cab and then restart your phone. under settings -> system you'll find a new icon, "Processor".
- set "on battery profile" to "Power Savings"
- click "File" and go to "Configure Profiles"
- choose "Power Savings" (surprise...)
- activate all settings and leave voltages on "Auto".
- from top to bottom set these 4 speed-settings: 528, 384, 256 & 122.88 MHz.
- set "after system is idle for" to 10000 ms
- "ok", "save" and you're done.
these settings save power but don't cause any freezes or lagging.
auto-mailcheck:
it's in pocket outlook under tools -> options. there choose your account(s) and change the send/receive-schedule to manually.
also, if you have set your screen-brightness manually by now, it will still remain a big battery-eater, this will never change. and since you're probably playing with your phone a lot since it's new, this won't get better.
you say you use it to make calls - well, depends on how long and how many...
is the phone brandnew? then give the battery some discharge/load-cycles to achieve it's full potential. if it's a used one then the battery is possibly already worn down -> new one.

yes, it's safe. because you're underclocking, not overclocking. if you undclock too much or set voltages too low you would end up with freezes or - absolutely worst case - corrupted data. this would mean a hardreset of the phone. (that's not dangerous for the phone, just annoying because you loose every data you haven't in a backup... ^^)
screen-settings:
also found in settings -> system -> power.
that's why it is called "settings"...

Yes but there aren't any brightness settings for the screen.I've tried everywhere in the settings menu mainly in:
settings > system > power
settings > system > screen
but there aren't any brightness settings for the display only to turn it off if I dont use the phone for x seconds (found in system > power)

Even if you don't use 3G, you still have to turn it off or it'll keep eating power.
Maybe you have "Auto-adjust backlight" checked, that's why you can't adjust brightness. uncheck it then move the slider for battery mode all the way to (or maybe 1 notch from) the left.

Depends on the ROM you're using. If you have Manila, there's a toggle switch for it at comm manager. If not, you can use the Advanced Config Manager app (download it from the applications subforum). Or there's a way to change it manually somewhere buried in the settings menu.
The brightness issue is more important, as the large, bright screen eats up a lot of power. Glad to hear you found it. The 3G thing is only a big issue if you have a spotty 3G signal and your phone keeps switching back and forth from GPRS/EDGE to 3G and to HSPDA

that's the biggest issue with 3g, yes.
but even if you have a steady 3g-signal, using your phone (calls, data) costs more energy than with gsm. again, it's "active" and "passive": in standby gsm and 3g use almost the same amount of battery, but i.e. during a call (=active) 3g needs ~50% more. (that goes for all phones)

I guess I was hoping for a little more detail than that.
More powerful how, precisely? Does it boost the signal strength by pushing more power into the phone's signal? Enable different networking standards? Up-clock the circuitry?
One thing it certainly seems to do is absolutely pulverise the battery; I'd like to know what the trade-off is.

Best WiFi performance, silly
Seriously, I switched it on and off. No difference. ~47Mb/s down, ~15Mb/s up.
I've never got more than 15Mb/s up no matter what settings I use.
in my opinion it is just for signal strength...

Well, there is a similar feature for the Note II and what it does is allow you to hang onto poor wifi connections which will drain more battery so the option is disabled by default.. Maybe that's what it is on the HTC One too??
Anybody using this?
I'm having trouble with my push notifications over wifi (being delayed if the screen is off) and I think it has helped me receive them.
Does it drain much more battery?

You probably have Sleep Mode turned on in the Power settings. If you use Power Saver, you might have ticked the Data connection box too.

I've checked them both. Unfortunately not.
And also wifi is on Always On.
That's why I'm trying to find anything else.
3G works fine. I'm not sure if I have the same problem in other wifi networks. One I tried today seemed to work fine.
But I'm checking now whatever option I have.

As you can see in under pics, android OS is on the top of the chart.
Try a lot to find out but still no clue, and is is weird in my google account syncing page?
And something seems to keep my awake all the time!
Please help me to find what is draining my battery? Or is is normal for Z3C?

Looks like a weak mobile network signal could be the cause. Go to Settings > More > Mobile networks > set "Preferred network type" to "GSM only"
I am not saying its your issue, but when I turn google now " voice - ok google detection" and from any screen is on, it just keeps my phone awake 100%. I turn it off and then it updates and comes back on, same issue.
drives me nuts stock everything
Install Wakelock detector by UzumApps.
Perhaps Xposed !
I think it xposed it self that drain battery, an alpha release is unstable.
I tried it i have the same mater, a clean install without xposed and battery is normal
I think you are right, I turn off the voice detection and it seems normal now. Observe a little longer to settle.

I haven't tried it. My phone is in having repairs done.
Have you tried restarting the phone? My android services battery usage climbs that high every few days and restarting seems to clear it up.
Sent from my Xperia Z3 Compact
Hey all,
I just woke up late today without my alarm going off to realize my phone had went from 100% at 10PM to 0% by 8AM. I've read through a few different threads on overnight battery loss, and determined that the big recommendation is to clear the cache partition. I wanted to ask if you guys have any other major recommendations based on my screenshots and info below, because I'm really tired of having this happen. Thanks!
My settings:
-Wifi, Data, Location are always kept on (Wifi connected to a network)
-HD Calling is on
-Most/all bloatware is disabled
-I use the Edge Clock at night
First pic is from last night, the others are from other nights.
Try turning off location and bluetooth and wifi. It should solve your battery problem. I lose about 3% overnight by disabling things during sleep.
I don't think that would explain the other 97% of my problem. Here's another screen shot
Whats your app usage look like?
Also, if you haven't already make sure to wipe cache. It's always the first step to try to fix issues.
Try this too:
1) Turn off all of the advanced calling features
2) Turn off phone
3) Hold volume up, home button, power button until it boots into recovery
4) Wipe cache partition
5) Reboot
6) Re-enable the advanced calling features.
Ditto. Show us your detailed app usage screenshot
I misspoke in the first post, I don't keep Bluetooth on during the day or at night.

Here's where I'm at today (turned off Wi-Fi mid-morning, which has helped a bit it seems) with detail of the app usage. zimgir, I did a cache wipe last week without any noticeable results, but I did not turn off advanced calling before doing that, so I'll give that a shot now and see how it goes.
Make sure to go to advanced wifi settings and disable search for signal during sleep. Even though you turn off wifi, this setting usually persists.
This is my wifi setup, I disallow any automatic scanning.
(It's the fifth item down.)
Also can you show us the details of your Android processes? It's very odd that it's using so much of your battery. I've only had that sort of usage when I encrypted my phone. I don't do that anymore since Samsung Pay won't work with encryption.
I've gotta ask, did any of the steps help you out?

Details below from today:
Hello. Recently, I installed BetterBatteryStats hoping I could find what drains my battery during standby and so on. So what I have found is that there is this wakelock called ts_wake_lock. Does anybody around here know what this is about and how it could be fixed? Thank you.

I honestly still have no idea what it is. It seems to drain my battery like crazy even after a factory reset. The interesting thing is that this seems to be less of a problem when I have movement detection disabled. But still, the wakelock is there and what the guy above mentioned simply is useless because it's a kernel wakelock.

I thought about a downgrade, but I fear to brick the phone :|
I had it on 108 and I have it on 120 as well.(L29C432) I don't think a downgrade will help you, though.
I haven't received the update notification yet... Hope the new firmware will solve the problem on my device.
Folks, I have exactly the same problem! And ideas how to fix it? It disappears in save mode, so it must come from an Huawei exclusive app? I also noticed ridiculous values for the motion detection.
It's the (t)ouch(s)creen wakelock (or one of them anyway, I think there are others as well). AFAIK it fires every time you touch the screen.
Check your display & developer settings... screen timeout, aod etc I see this wakelock on my p20 pro, but it doesn't seem to impact on my battery unduly.
Change one setting and see if it makes a difference, then try another etc.... Not sure, but it also could be an app keeping the screen alive.
Thanks, that's what I was guessing, too. It has something to do with the "lift to activate" feature, I guess. My device has billions (really) of ts_wake_lock and significant_motion triggers in the bug report. It does affect the battery quite a bit here. I'm not sure what could cause this, I have reset my phone a few times and I currently have no user apps except for BBS installed.

I have the exact same problem on my mate 10 pro. Its a new phone, i have factory reset it a couple of times.
My BBS stats look almost identical.
No, not really a solution. It went away after a while. I think I deactivated the play services, deleted its file and cache and then updated it to the newest version. This helped me with a better battery life. The ts_wake_locks are still there but only very few compared to the number I had before.
