Hi all
I've accidentally put on a TWRP recovery onto my Z3C, the OS is not right for it (something about TWRP needs a compatible OS) and now I'm in a 3 second boot loop. I can however get into fastboot.
Does anyone have a recovery image file for CWM so I can put that back on so my device will boot again?
I can't find one on the internet for neither love nor money.

Hi, I Have CWM but it is 5.1 Lollipop firmware 23.4.A.0.546. Only for unlocked bootloader.

Hey, thanks vooR9er
Not sure if I was expecting too much (I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing) but I thought my old OS might boot. Alas, it does not. In fact, now the OS does not boot at all and the only thing that shows any sign of life is fastboot.

Does it matter what recovery version/firmware I have?
Does it have to match up with my OS?
If you don't mind, may I ask: what would you do with a phone that has only fastboot working now?

I'm sorry, I'm not good at English (google translate). You have the bootloader unlocked? If Yes then you can flash the kernel. What is the current firmware installed? Another important condition, the phone must be charged 50% or more, to avoid even more problems.

Why would you modify your phone when you clearly have no idea of what your doing or how to return to stock? Mind boggling to me how many people take these silly risk.

Seriously man. I thoroughly read all guides before going about the rooting.
But this guy just doesn't know even basic stuff mentioned in the first post.
I tried helping him but he is just too ignorant for me to handle.
Don't even get me started on the 'will pay' thing.
I didn't notice it before but man what does this guy think
Before I ever rooted my phone I read all kind of tutorials and even watched all kinds of video's on youtube. +1 to rootjunky.com Then before I would modify anything I would make sure to have all the stock images and my sdk set up if needed to return to stock before changing anything.
I sure as hell didn't tell people that I'll pay them for helping me

its fairly easy, but.. there might be an issue for you. it might not flash rigjt if flashing them together using flash-all. you might have to fastboot flash each part separately.

so here is what happened, i was rooted with an unlocked boot loader running chroma rom. i then tried to unroot my device to return completely back to stock. After the process was done, i formatted and wiped everything then did a reboot. when android started up chroma rom was still on there and i can't access developer settings to unlock my boot loader to flash stock image. so now i am stuck with a locked boot loader and a bootloop device. i have tried adb sideload and got back 2 errors that the footer is wrong and the signature. i don't know what to do now. so Please Help! thank you in advance.

The only option is try and fastboot format userdata and fastboot format cache.
If they don't work, there is no fix. Nothing a toolkit can do.

Here is the option. Direct from Wug's FAQ. "If you device is bootlooping or can’t boot up, use “Flash Stock + Unroot” with the “Soft-Bricked/Bootloop” option and follow the onscreen instructions for manually booting your device into bootloader mode and restoring your device."
Can't use flash stock option without an unlocked bootloader.

Why is this happening so often. Sorry but getting late to the party, I just bought my N6 from Best Buy and have been trying to get caught up on all the reading before it gets here. Is it user error or something else?
BTW, from what I see he can probably break it down and sell the parts on ebay then get close to a new one for $350.

We don't know but this sucker likes to bootloop. Never relock the device till after it boots and running. Concerning relocking non-stock have seen it bork TWRP and kernel.

because many people dont read and educate themselves beforehand.
I don't understand why people are re-locking their boot loader. Unless you are returning the device, what is the purpose of re-locking it? I don't get, in this particular thread, why or how the boot loader got locked?

And that is a key question.
I was trying to get ready to turn in my nexus 6 and so I flashed a stock rom (apparently minus the recovery) and relocked my device. I now have twrp but stock 5.1 installed. twrp boots okay but internal storage is 0mb and it appears unable to format partitions. any ideas on a resolution? very comfortable with fastboot (bootloader loads normally) but can't seem to get anything working otherwise.
Hey guys, I was hoping to flash a pure stock 7.x preferably via twrp.
A buddy of mine a year ago and me to flash pure Nexus for him but now needs a stock phone for business security net purposes.
Is there a link for this? I've searched and have come up short.
I'm guessing it'll have to update bootloader, radio and kernel as well?
I know how to do this via command line. Was really hoping for a way to do it on the fly since this is not my phone and taking a PC for a TWRP ready device is a hassle.

This should be a relatively easy thing so I'm surprised it doesn't exist
there is no reason for it to HAVE to be twrp flashable, just google for "NEXUS ROOT TOOLKIT" you will see on there restore to stock, and re-lock boot-loader, not positive but i think twrp cant flash stock unrooted images, i could be wrong

TWRP can flash a stock image if someone creates it. Unless there is something odd about the nexus, but I doubt that. The only thing that shouldn't be flashed stock would be recovery.
I don't think I need to use some toolkit... adb and fastboot commands are simple enough.
I was hoping to avoid needing a PC at another persons house, I mean that is kinda the point of twrp.
I am surprised this doesn't exist. It does for every other device I've owned. It's honestly just a wiped clean, twrp backup of a stock device with TWRP installed.
If I owned the device I would make it for you guys. It seems something that is lacking that is really handy.
I guess I'll round up a laptop. Thanks for the links and suggestions.

Different Google search gave this. I can find nothing else on TWRP site or G+
Appears you can also use FlashFire.
Thanks for the help.
OP could flash one of the stock lite ROMs in the development forum and get the TWRP-flashable stock ROM he's looking for. Danvdh and tupac4u both offer one that is nothing more a debloated stock ROM.
TWRP is able to flash system images from 3.0.2 and on. Just unpack the archive and select install img. Remember to flash stock kernel and newest radio and bootloader too (bare in mind that flashable bootloader is harder to find. You might have to find older one and update the files inside on your own). Afterwards flash stock recovery and lock bootloader with a zip. Now you can just reboot it. It's not that hard.

For Nexus 6 https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59728002/
Thank you.
I went ahead and simply flashed him 100% stock via flash and fastboot.
This is probably resolved now, just adding info though. I had flashed stock 7.1.1 zip downloaded from google via twrp 3.0.3.0. It removed twrp itself too and I was back on stock.

Hi all,
I've Z1 which is not used in last 2 years. It has dirty unicorns 9.something, unlocked bootloader and root.
My Nexus 6p is giving troubles so I need to use Z1, I was wondering is there an active ROM right now or devs moved away from Z1 (I ask this cause most of the threads in original development seems to suggest that). I normally don't use ROMs from Android development since I've already deleted those DRM keys and stock drivers/firmware won't be useful (I looked in there as well though, and see only lineage active but the dev doesn't have display anymore)
I'll check AOSP branch from Sony itself until then thought I might as well ask the community.
Thanks

Carbon Rom is the only one active right now which is only for Security updates (they're working on Oreo that's why) and they might update faster if a there's a new vulnerability to fix.

Twrp is there after you flashed the rom. If the recovery disappears just flash it from fastboot again
