Battery pack / case for Note 8 - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hey guys I've been thinking about buying a phone case with a built in battery pack for my Note. I've never had one before, so my question is, what is the difference in them. I know that the battery mah is the size of the battery, but I've noticed that mophie is about 100 dollars U.S. versus all the other brands range from 25 dollars U.S. to 50 dollars U.S. Is mophie worth the extra money and what is the advantage of it over the other brands.

are extra capacity batteries safe?

I was thinking about getting one of those 2400mah batteries from ebay. Are using these batteries safe? Will they damage my device?
if you're not buying it from a carrier or company the phone came from, all bets are off. if something goes wrong and your phone fries, you're on your own. that having been said, I've used extended batteries I bought off ebay with my old blue angel and now my wizard phone without problem. if you don't want to take the risk, you can always opt for one of those battery based chargers. just make sure the battery is designed for the phone model in question and you should be fine.
As long as it's b.e. 3,7 VDC out (as needed on a variO) it's no problem. The 2400mAhr can only deliver more Power or Current as whatever your device likes to ask for.
I'm using this kind of battery (2400mAh) almost 1 year without any troubles.
I bought this battery at eXpansys USA.
Anyhow, how can they prove that I'm using this kind of battery?
They are not able to do that!
Seen as how your buying from Ebay, have you checked the sellers history to see if he has sold many of these high cap batterys before? If so what are the reviews like.
As the Blue Angel I got already came with the standard TWO batterys I haven't needed a high cap one, but I have used one for another phone and never had any problems. Unlike them cheap high volume ink cartridges that exploded on me....
Think most of the problems with batterys have been down to the chargers over heating the batterys which causes pressure to build up inside. Useraly only happens with 'rapid' chargers.
2400 MAh @ Brando costs 36 US$ + Shipping cost 3 US$ = 39.00 US$.
Have a look at http://shop.brando.com.hk/pdabattery.php
I bought one from Brando.Good service and good price.

these $25 2400mAH batteries on ebay.. are they actually 2400mAH or is that what the sticker says? anyone compared one to a new standard capacity battery? the reason I say NEW standard capacity battery is that of course even a new SC battery would last longer than the old battery so it wouldn't be a good test to say the new 2400mah batt last longer than the old 1850 mah batt... understand where I'm going with this?
size difference?
is there a size difference between the standard and the extended? It could cause problems with the cradle and I doubt any cases were designed with larger batteries in mind.

Spare battery and FM transmitter

Hello all,
I've ordered my Streak, and it will arrive tomorrow!
I'm looking into buying spare batteries and an FM trasnmitter that accepts the 3.5mm as input.
The Dell site itself sells batteries for 40$. Anyone know of someplace (dealextreme or similar) where I can find one cheaper?
Only seen spare ones on Ebay
And welcome to the Streak Family you will love it
There's a thread right above this thread that discusses two Mugen battery options. The 1800mah is around 40, from Mugen, but it's a higer capacity battery. You might be able to pick one up on eBay for cheaper. The other is a HUGE 4800mah battery. It's like 130 bucks.
If you still don't want to pay that much, you can get cheapo batteries on eBay.

$5.95 Samsung Battery for Nexus S 1440mh

I have purchased chargers and cables from this site before, its been around for a while, but they are having a sale apparently this week and I noticed that they were selling the original Samsung batteries for the Nexus S.
http://www.all4cellular.com/samsung-ab653850ca.html
Not sure if its straight from Samsung but the batteries are 1440mAh, which is the same as the ones Best Buy sent me using the Black Tie protection plan.
I know that the ones on samsung's battery say 1500mAh but maybe they are the same?
Anyways, I'm in for one. Its $5.95 with shipping of $2 total on any order or amount.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028065 You can find it on ebay for 4.94$. I've already ordered one to see how well it performs.
LE: Also, it ISN'T the original Nexus S battery. That one has 1500 mAh. This one has 1440. But, in theory, it's still made by Samsung, so it's not a replica.

HD2 extended battery, same size like original

I would like to buy extended battery that is same size like an original so it wouldn't stick out...
I have read few threads about that and I know that there are few 1800mah batteries which are really just fake 1270 mah...
So...what is max capacity in original size?
Thanks
15000mah Mugen is only option for same size & real stated capacity.
reality is a different battery technology would be required to better that.
www.mugen-power-batteries.com/mugen-power-htc-hd2-t8585-1500mah-extended-replacement-battery.html
As above, there is little in the way of a regular sized battery with considerably more capacity than the stock battery. If you're looking to keep the slim look then I'd consider doing as I did and investing in either a cheap 2nd battery (either used genuine or cheap Chinese) off eBay for a couple of bucks. coupled with a battery charger which charges both the second battery and the phone, im yet to find a situation where im without power.
Sent from my HTC HD2 (Android)
my solution to lack of capacity was to use a usb charger pack running from 4 aa cells (2100mah hybrio cells) & mod pack to activate 1Amp charger mode.
cost less than $20 & is easier than swapping/booting & externally charging hd2 batteries.
I'm actually selling my barely used 1600mAh battery on eBay (link here). I used it for about 10 days before the touchscreen on my HD2 went bad. No added bulk and the battery life is about 30% better than the original battery. I bought it from a seller in Hongkong after reading a HD2 user's suggestion here. It's about 10USD if buying from China, delivery will be from 14-30 days.

And what capacity does T-Battery application show this battery at ? for sure not 1600Mah ...
Oops ... double post ...
There are two type of good batteries momax or mugen. (Even the fact that both companies have an own website says already a lot).
Muggen has higher capcity while momax uses better cells according to 6 pages of user experiences. Both will preform about the same like 20% capicity extra. I would go for the momax since it works better in android (capcity is close to orginal one) and it is a bit cheaper 21-27 usd according where you buy it.
Momax X batteries are produced in same factory as Andida.
The momax HD2 replacement battery gave me no extra usage time, if anything less.
It may give 20% extra capacity if compared to a 2 year old fatigued OEM cell but new next to new OEM wins hands down.
If you say so...
My experience is different anyway and from a lot of others to and I can't use any battery wich has higher capicity then the stock one because it wont work well in android.
Also andida battery come from:
http://www.laishenglong.com/en/
And I am almost sure that they are not made in the same factory andida battery's look more like fake clones.
But maybe you can show me some evidence.
That was what I was told by a dealer in Hong Kong when I purchased a Momax.
The reality is a battery with less Mah than stock is not going to be 20% better but they are ok & give reasonable performance & quality for the purchase price.
Andidas registered address is Hong Kong as is Momax but neither have factories in Hong Kong.
The Andida & Momax X batteries & packaging are identical from what I looked at in Hong Kong. The Momax HD2 battery is not the X series & is different in battery wrapping, labelling & packaging.
Is buying the battery on ebay smart?
Where should I buy it to know for sure I get the battery/capacity I want...
What capacity do you want & do you still want standard size ?
The only battery that I have seen that is really higher capacity & sized same as original was a Mugen, all others read standard Mah rating when tested with tbattery.exe.
The chances of getting a higher Mah standard size battery off eBay is probably zero. A work colleage purchased an Andida 1700Mah from eBay seller snow9white for a TD2 & real capacity is 1100Mah, but ok as at just under $10 inc shipping he was happy as performs as good as OEM & he already was aware of Andidas overstated capacity.
I've read something about better cells and no need for higher capacity...so I don't care about capacity really...all I need is more time between charging it...
But I don't want to buy something on ebay, if I am not sure that it will be better as the one I have now...
The only thing I want is battery in original size that doesn't sticks out or need extra battery cover...
More time = capacity. quality of cell will have some link to overall run time but the main issue is capacity.

Yeah but I am not talking about the stock momax battery I believe you if you say it preforms the same as stock..
I am talking about the 1250 mah x-level variant.
Before you have only the stock variant since like 2 months there is the x-level variant for like 21-27 dollar.
http://www.momax.net/en/Product_Show.aspx?ID=1303&T=1
Yeh I bought mine about 3 months ago & is not x-level model cell, no HD2 x-level at that time for HD2, will have a look for the x-level HD2 in Hong Kong & if sensible HK$ buy one for a test.
Ok which one is better? The Momax X-Level or Mugen Power?
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...585-1500mah-extended-replacement-battery.html
http://shop.momax.net/?sp=&p=6&cat2=635&cat1=113&cat0=46&id=3396&cat1=113&cat0=46&new=&more=&lang=en
Is the Mugen worth almost double the price?
Mugen should be the best in terms by capacity & quality but with the price diference between the two it makes the x-level a major player.
I will be going for an x-level as price direct here in hong kong is just too good, don't really need one but want to test it and see if they are as good as current hype.
Ok guys, I just got the X-level battery today, I'm charging it right now and post later on how well it is.

Battery Replacement from ebay

After the battery that came with my note stopped charging i decided to buy a replacement. So what do you think guys about this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121393966563
I have already bought it but i don't know if its really genuine. Feedback about the batteries they have selled so far is good. Batteries for my phone in my country cost 40 euros so i thought that this is a good offer but what if my phone gets damaged after using this battery? How do i recognize fake batteries?
Zerolemon plain and simple I paid 44. 95 for it makes the phone heavy but that's OK I like weight battery last 3 days
Here it is

No, they're not genuine and will very likely not be true capacity.
If you're looking for a standard capacity aftermarket battery I would highly recommend these..
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B208QDU/
I use them every single day as I just keep 3 batteries charged via a external wall charger and just swap batteries when needed instead of leaving phone plugged in. They last as long as my genuine battery does.
As mentioned above though, If you want an external you cant beat the ZeroLemon
PS. In future please use search, We already have plenty of eBay/battery topics so you could have just replied to one of them or read them and not needed to. Opening topics like this just adds to an already cluttered forum.
Not to sound like Anker fan-boy lol!!!, but www.amazon.co.uk/Anker®-3100mAh-Battery-Samsung-GT-N7100/dp/B009OWLTLO/ - those are highly reliable and on US amazon have hundreds of 5-star reviews. Actually, I prefer their 2x battery + wall charger combo for $25: www.amazon.com/3100mAh-Batteries-T-Mobile-Cellular-EB595675LA/dp/B009SYL6C0/ - convenient to use one while charging the other one and swap it. Not sure if it's available on Amazon UK.
Well, i currently live in Cyprus so i can only order from the amazon uk and on amazon uk the shipping is very expensive so i can only buy from ebay. I don't know about anker batteries. Are they good?

I never had issues with them and reviewed all of their batteries, internal and external. Just so people wouldn't think that I'm biased because i review a lot of their stuff, just go to US Amazon and search for their products, typically hundreds and sometime thousands of 5-star reviews for their external batteries and internal batteries.

So, Pantapanta1, did You get the battery?
Can You test it with Nova Battery Tester, and provide results?
The battery came but i havent tried it yet. From what i can say its fake because the weight of the oem battery is 54g and the weight of this battery is 51. I will test and come with results!
7 dollars. Works great.

I haven't had any luck with aftermarket batteries other than Zero Lemon and Samsung official. All the off brand ones I bought suffered battery drain issues after a couple of weeks.
