I think that without the root user is not.

64gig micro SD card

Anyone know if the new 64gig micro SD card will work in bionic? I've read that it will. But would like to hear from someone that has it installed
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Yes, I'm using a SanDisk 64GB right now, You just need to format it to FAT32 before you use it.

What kind of speeds do you get with that thing?
I can confirm it works; I am using it also. It is a class 6 and is noticeably quicker than the stock one. I replaced a class 10 32 gb card and have noticed any speed diferences between the 2. I would recommend formatting it with your phone.
Are the any special needs to change a card? Can I simply copy data from the old to the new, without having to reinstall programs?
I have a 32gig class 10 I would like to install.

Just copy your files from the old SD card to your PC (make sure hidden files/folders are included). Then power down your Bionic, swap the SD cards, and power back up. You may wish to format your new card from within the Bionic at this point (go to Settings > Storage > Format SD Card). Then you can copy all your files back over.
Just a tip, to get the most out of your class 10 card you may want to tweak the cache size. There's an app in the Market called SD Card Tester that you can use to measure your speeds. Make sure to change the path from /sdcard to /sdcard-ext by tapping in the top-right corner until it gives you the option. Then you can use another app called SD Booster to experiment with different cache sizes and see which one works best. The default size is 128k. With my Samsung 32 Gb Class 10 card, I found 4096k gave me the best speeds, but YMMV.
Thank you for the reply. I have two questions about your answer.
I changed the card, the option for formatting the SD card was grayed out, any ideas why?
Secondly, my phone is not rooted, is there any other way that you know of, to change the cache size?
Unmount first!

You first need to "Unmount SD card" and then the option to "Format SD card" will be available. I don't think there is really that much of a reason to mess with cache sizes. This card works great for me without trying to tweak it.

[Q] Problem with scan a SD card

Hi,
I want to know if there if an app to scan the SD Scan in the RAZR i.
The main problem is that the actual apps in google play only scans "mnt/sdcard", but in the RAZR i the SD card is in "mnt/external1".
So, there is an app that scans "mnt/external1"?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried the app Link2SD? You can move your aplivativos for the card.
I think it would be ideal to install your apps on the phone memory because it has 8GB.

I will try that app. Thanks!
Well, it has like 4 Gb available. So I bought a OCZ Class 10 32 GB SD Card.
The main problem for me is when I delete some mp3 or apk from that SD Card via File Manager. The files "disappear", but they still appears in the default gallery o google player. Only after I restart the phone, the files completely dissapears.
Not working.
I forget to say that my phone is not rooted.
And for what I saw about that app, I don't want to move the files. Only that mnt/external1 gen scaned!

[Q] Applications to external sd

Hi, everyone.
I have a question if somebody is able to copy or move applications to external sd card either with rooted stock or custom rom. What applications or mods did you do to enable such option?

Im having the same problem as well. my Internal storage is half way getting there and None of the apps that I installed does not have the option to be transferred to ext_SD
Ok, after 2 days of searching over the web and forums I found a workaround for moving apps on external SD (working only on rooted phones).
1) Download and install FolderMount program from Google Play store.
2) Open the program, tap on "+", enter name (any alias), source folder of the app, and destination (external sd with the same folder already created or choose automatic method), then tap on check mark.
3) Wait till the program copies the application to external sd and creates link. After you need to tap on pin icon and it'll turn to green.
If you get some notification, just click "Yes".
P.S.
Don't delete the folder with the moved app in your internal memory, as it'll also delete the app from external SD. If you want to check if the program moved, unpin the program and browse to the app folder in your internal memory and you won't see the files there. FolderMount creates the link to the application in internal memory to trick Android. Every time Android requests the application, it passes the request to its internal memory and after goes via the link to external SD. That is the only trick that worked for me.
I read on the butterfly 901s/e forum thread and it said something about fat32
I have Kingston 64gb formated in FAT32, don't know if Android works properly with exFAT or ext format. You can't format 64gb SD card in FAT32 with Windows, but you can install other partition wizards like Minitool Partition Wizard to format it.
Does the old setinstalllocation trick work here?

If you mean "set pm install location" command, then no. I tried that trick, however programs didn't even install on internal memory after I used the command. I left it as default "0".

Thanks a lot. I think I can do everything I need to do with foldermount so it should all work out.
Also got a 70mbps read SD card! Phone comes in later today!
Does the micro SDXC work in the butterfly s
Sent from my HTC Butterfly using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes, works with microSDXC up to 64gb in FAT32, couldn't manage to use external sd card in other formats like exFAT or NTFS.

Evernote - anybody tried to move it to external SD card

The 8 Gb limit is a problem for apps that can't be moved to external SD card. Could somebody try to move Evernote to external card and see if the data can be located to it. It should be possible with the drawback that the widget doesn't work anymore.
Thanks/vox

As far as I know, it is NOT possible to move any applications to SD card without being rooted. Have you rooted your phone?
Even with root, I guess you can only do it using Link2SD to a second partition on your SD card.
Ok, thanks. I thought Evernote might be able to store notes on external SD card - but it does not.
You can store data on external sd card

I think that you can do it. Just move evernotes files from Internal Memory/Android to SDCard/Android.
Then, using folder mount (search play store) simply mount the folder on external card as a folder on internal card.
As far as I think root is required.

Open the Settings app.
Go into Apps & notifications.
Access the app you want to move to the SD card.
Select Storage.
If the app supports the feature, you will see an option to change where the app is stored. Go ahead and change it to the inserted SD card.

I don't have that kind of feature in my realme c3 phone, what should I do?
