Clear cache and dalvik cache from recovery, it'll be back to work.

I generally feel that the sound quality through headset on Sammy roms are crisp and clear than on cm9 or aokp roms, I just require user opinion on this
THank you
Might be due to DSP Manager on CM9. Turn it completely off as it doesn't work really well right now.
Sound IS better on CM9, and I want to know why... and apply that to an stock rooted ROM...
I've been searching and searching, I've installed DSP Manager on an Stock rooted rom XXLA1/XXLC1 (DBT) and it sounds exactly the same.
I start the app, and it doesn't require root permissons, and is not listed on the granted apps on SuperUser...
How can we improve sound quality, the same way CM9 rom does it?

Use PowerAmp to play music. It's the best music player right now. The equalizer and tone control it very good for me to play music.
I've used it for several weeks, but the sound quality I can achiveve is MILES away from the sound out-of-the-box that CM9 provides... That's the reason of this topic...
By the way, what are the values you put on PowerAmp Equalizer?
I installed cm10 to sdcard and everything works great except no audio will play through the headphones. We have tried 3 different standard off the shelf earbuds and none of them will play audio. I used the 12/28 build. Sound is fine through the regular speakers. Is the a setting I'm missing or something? Thanks for making this rom for everyone to enjoy. Great Job!

Thank you. I thought I read it was fixed with that build. I must have misunderstood.

Hi!
It happened to me too but with the last CM10 version (20121231) it should work, try updating your rom.
OTOH I've had problems trying to make the "RockBox" app to work in every CM10 version published so far and with any app version downloaded up to 2012-12-29 (last version from rasher.dk/rockbox/android).
The menus work to add folders and files to the playlist but when finally trying to start playing I get a PANIC error message (see uploaded screenshot)
Does anybody know any solution about this?
Thanks!

Why? What happened to the dialer? Have you tried to reinstall official C-Apps by Cyano?

I'm on RR ROM as well. I flashed it. Awesome sound. Better than my Viper4Android current settings. And then I tried to make a phone call/receive phone call, and it would lag so hard. The other line can't hear me and I won't hear anything from the other line as well.
Reverted back to nandroid and it was fixed. I wonder if it was because I had V4A already on before I flashed, but I did clear both caches before I flashed.
EDIT: looked into the original thread and they're complaining of same.

Can Work with audio FX?
It instals fine on the latest Sultan build of CM12, kik crashed for some reason upon launch which I'm sure is unrelated. But the audio effects seem to do absolutely nothing, and super duper sadly the "mic sensitivity" option won't even change from it's default value "auto", that value alone would be worth it to me since the OPO's AGC is awful.
*Edit*
Upon clearing cache and dalvik AND disabling AudioFX this works pretty good. Still no microphone gain control though
*Edit 2*
The audio effects will work in nothing but the music app provided, just like AudioFX traditionally did. No external apps will work with this, at least for me. Anybody know how you get the dark theme in the music app provided?
Is there a reason you ported it? There are enough players available on the market which are as good as the sony's or even better (Poweramp, etc)...

I had success with Spotify and the Walkman app. Unfortunately it just broke in-call sound so I had to revert back.
Works on latest nigthly of cm12.1? And what is that "phone bug"?
Call not working
The other line can't hear me and I won't hear anything from the other line as well.
I got a BootLoop with SultanXDA CM13...

Information
HMD Global ships Android with the stock MusicFX equalizer app which is pretty limited in terms of functionality. This guide aims to assist you to install AudioFX equalizer sourced from LineageOS 16.1 on your Nokia 6.1/7 Plus/ 6.1 Plus which will provide you with slightly better control over how your music sounds.
Disclaimer
AudioFX is meant to be distributed with LineageOS and not meant to be used with other configurations. Since this is so, the functionality of the app is unpredictable and may be rendered broken after a future OS update. There is little that I can do to mitigate these failures. However, I encourage users to experiment and figure things out for themselves if the app does break. Certain Custom ROMS and Audio players ship with their Equalizers and these may interfere with the functioning of AudioFX. Therefore I encourage users to test using close-to-stock ROMs or Audio players without built-in equalizers.
Prerequisites
Android Version 9.0
Few minutes of your spare time
Instructions
Force Stop all audio playback apps.
Go to settings -> Apps & Notifications -> See all apps -> Toggle "Show System" in the three-button menu
Locate "MusicFX"
Clear storage, cache and then force stop and disable the MusicFX app.
Download and Install the AudioFX app linked with this post.
Open up a music app of your choice. I'll be using Spotify here.
Go to Spotify Settings -> Equalizer. You will be greeted with a small pop up asking to select default equalizer. Select "AudioFX" and set to always open.
(OPTIONAL) Disable Battery Optimization for AudioFX.
Reboot your phone.
Test if your EQ is functional by toggling the EQ On/Off switch within AudioFX and observing if the audio sounds different.
Bugs
Sometimes there are multiple entries for AudioFX in the prompt that asks you select default EQ. Select the first option in this case.
Other times, EQ doesn't function at all. I do not know how to fix this. Feel free to experiment and report your findings on this thread.
Contributers
AudioFX is part of LineageOS Source

I appreciate the effort mate but the app does no visible audible changes to the audio streams at all.

Has anyone found a way to disable/remove the additional bass to all audio (on Stock ROM). Sometimes it's great but for music it's sometimes downright terrible.
Try tinkering with the AudioWizard settings.
If no luck, try your music player's EQ settings or Viper4android.

I've used viper before and I love it but for personal reasons I don't want to leave the stock ROM or do any flashing. The audiowizard has very lackluster options which don't provide a very useful description which make it hard to figure out what the bass and treble slider actually do, as they don't seem to impact the extra bass at all.
You don't need to leave stock ROM for using V4A.
The latest V4A .apk is available to install from XDA labs.
Another option, is to try the VLC media player's native equaliser (works just for music/ video files during VLC play).

I would but I can't do that without root and I'm sort of not keen on that as I've heard magisk is more unstable and not a garenteed passt for safety net (I use Google pay alot)
In that case, try any one of the top-rated volume/ bass adjusting apps via Play store - see if it does the job for you.
VLC media player has it's own equaliser.
You can freeze/ disable AudioWizard via stock settings, or try SD-maid or Titanium.

Thank you for this info. I was genuinely not aware of this.
I've had a couple of nightmare situations where the ROG3 would shut-down (power-off) by itself every time I powered it on - I thought this was because of a rogue app/ magisk module or perhaps a virus; I ended up doing a factory reset eventually to recover my phone.
