Carrying the iconX 2018 without charging them - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi, I just got my gear iconX 2018. I was wondering.. how can I carry the earbuds without charging them? The case is charging the earbuds while they are inside, so is there any way to carry them inside the case without charging them?
Thanks

I don't think you can, but why do you want this? It just keeps them 'topped up' and stops charging when they reach 100% - Isn't that a good thing?

[Q] Gear VR with Samsung Qi wireless charging cover?

I have Samsung's official Qi wireless charging cover (http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-CN910IBUSTA). This increases the thickness of the phone (even without any cover).
Will the Gear VR work with this cover ? Or, will I need to replace the back cover every time I want to use Note 4 in Gear VR?
Thanks,
Osho

Mophie Charge Force - will it charge without Mophie?

So Mophie just announced magnetic wireless charging stations for their battery packs, like these:
http://www.mophie.com/shop/docks/charge-force-desk-mount
http://www.mophie.com/shop/wireless/charge-force-vent-mount
http://www.mophie.com/shop/docks/charge-force-charging-base
Seems cool and all, but my question is - will it charge my S7 without the Mophie case? From what I can tell it uses Qi, so in theory should work.
But i haven't found anything specific on it. Would love to hear peoples thoughts.
Been waiting for a good quality magnetic car vent wireless charger (that I don't have to make myself).
Great questions would love to get the car mount one if it works without the case.
should work without the case no problem

Do you know for sure the stand to the case is Qi?
I know the case to the phone is Qi. I just haven't confirmed stand to case. If that IS Qi then yes, no problem charging the phone.
Thanks
I shot them a support email to see if I can get a response I will let everyone know what I find out.

Official Samsung Fast Qi Wireless Charger

I would really like to purchase the Samsung Qi fast wireless charger
but I have a few questions about it before I buy one.
#1: How much slower is the fast wireless Qi charger when compared to
the standard samsung fast usb charger which comes with the phone?
#2: Does the phone get hot or very warm when it's charging wirelessly?
#3: Does the phone charge slower when it has a one piece case on it?
Thanks in advance,
Have a great day!
#1, add around 30% time to charge
#2 Not that i have noticed
#3 Depends on the case

It´s just with me or it is difficult to put the phone on the right place to charge
I used a few times because of this, depend of the place where you put to charge, of course I am putting on the middle, the phone centred haha

I bought one from here and it was legit (not fake). Buy one and if you don't like it, send it back. I dock my phone every night I go to sleep. It has a very quite fan noise and the charging light notification is bright, but some electrical tape can take care of it.

I have both, the flat and the tilted charger from Samsung. I got an extra at Radio Shack going out of business, gutted it, and put it under the cubby hole in my car to charge while driving. The flat one I have next to my computer and use it rarely. The tilted charger, be warned. The lip of it where the phone sits is extremely narrow; 3 weeks after I got my Edge 7, it became an Olympic ski jumper, slid off the charger, off the desk, and right into the metal rail on my bed and cracked the housing at the charging port. I really only use the home chargers when I go to bed, and the one in my car while driving 40 miles to and from work. I like them because I've been getting Ringke cases that have port covers, and using the wireless, I don't risk marring the finish trying to connect a cable. It's funny how many people see it, either at work, or when I installed it in the car, and really like the idea. I never take my case off to charge, and never really notice it being any hotter than if I were using it for an extended time period.

I know, but you are thinking of buying one. I'm simply giving you a link, if you decide to buy one, to a REAL Samsung fast wireless charger for a good price. The market is flooded with fake ones at low prices. Usually, if the price is fairly low, then it's a fake Samsung product.

Every time i use it (with s6 edge+ or s7 edge) it charges, no problem at all, even with the cases (s6e+ has verus high pro shield and s7e has spigen case rugged armor)
I don't have Samsung QI Charger, I got my QI Wireless Charger from Anker, Very great quality for the half of price and do the same job
Since i am not using fast charging via cable and always charge the regular - slow - way so i got the regular one from Anker, Charge time is as same as the cable time.
No major heat or something just the regular warmth, and working fine with cases.
I like it, very easy to just place the phone and wake away , no cables or USB Port damage, Won't back to regular charge

I have two of them. Stand.
#1: 20-30%
#2: It gets warm even with the fan at the back of the charger running all the time. Not hot and not very warm.
#3: Not in my case and I have cases with different thickness.

Is there any way to get Qi wireless charging with this phone?

I am considering buying an Xperia X because of the Wet finger tracking. My current Samsung doesn't support that, and since I do a bit of lobster and crab fishing, and I use an app (Fishing Points) to note what I get and where I put the pots, I am rather annoied with the Samsung since any drop of water on it will mess up my usage. And trying to dry out a phone in a small boat is kind of annoying. But then I see that the X doesn't support Qi wireless charging, and I have that in my home office, my car, on my motorcycle and next to my bed. Going back to where I have to actually plug in a cable seems so incredibly stone age. So are there any solutions for Qi compatible wireless charging that works on this, and that doesn't compromise waterproofing?

Yes, add a USB receiver.
Thanks, I see that you have that phone! You mean with the flat cable going into the battery bay? I did look into that, but found that it will compromise the waterproof seal. Or is there a way to do it that doesn't?

It's a receiver that connects through the USB port of the phone, it do e's not affect any waterproof seal, although you probably need to dry the usb port before charging, this is the same with all phone if it just came out of water.
Thanks! But do you mean that I have to plug that in every time I need to charge the phone and then put it in the Qi charger, or that it's stuck to the outside of the phone? In the first case it's really just another way of plugging in a regular charger...

Go to ebay and search for qi receiver, there are many available, although depending which one you get will vary in quality.
Yeah, I've seen those. I'm afraid they will be ripped off in my pocket, I think. So maybe the best bet is two phones and a twin SIM, so I have one for regular use and one for fishing. Or wait until spring and see if Sony gets their act together and actually deliver an expensive phone with the most common wireless charging option.
Just use a case with the receiver, sony knows about qi, they have a offcial qi case for the Z5, but decided not to use qi, and opt for fast charging instead.
Good point, a thin case with the receiver inside would probably be a good solution! Thanks! And Sony didn't think that one through. It makes it less likely that Samsung people, who often have a bunch of QI stuff from their phones, will convert. Fast charging is OK, but I prefer to put the phone into the car holder or on the bedside table and start charging without having to plug anything.
This one could be the right type:

nillkin has the best receiver so far if you are in for a USB receiver, unlike the one's sold on ebay, they just use a thin sticker with the circuit in between, the nillkin uses thin plasic, and is very stable, I have the nillkin one for my XP and V20. USB is availabl;e in two version, A and B.
The offcial sony one is pretty thick, not worth buying, but that is for the Z5 only.
Thanks! I'll get that when I change phone, then. But the picture is of a case I can use on the phone, not a receiver.
In case anybody else wants to try this, it works. But not with the pictured case, that creates pressure on the back of the phone which gives color blotches on the screen. So I found my solution in a so called "Slim Rubber Gel Case Cover" and the Nillkin receiver. Problem solved, and it works quite nicely. I rarely need to to connect my phone with the USB, but it's quite easy to pop off the case and remove the receiver.

Wireless charging success

I bought a wireless charger receiver for US$8.53 from Amazon and installed it under the case. It works very well. I'm waiting for my battery to get low and I will test charge rate.
If you don't want to remove your case every time you use the USB-C port, be sure to leave a little bit of slack in the cable so you can remove the charger connector
As @dandrumheller noted, the charger USB-C connector also protects the port from debris.
I have a Nillkin receiver and works great. I use a black case so you don't see it.

Out of curiosity, how long does the wireless charging take? What % do you start at and what % are you stopping at or are you placing it on the wireless charger whenever? How warm does the phone get during charging - is there a noticeable difference?
Any and all information you can provide is appreciated.

All wireless charging gets warm. Nothing new there, I had a note 8 and wirelessly charging was all I did. The note 8 got very warm. It's just more convenient to just lay it down and charge it. The battery life is so good on this phone that I only charge it once a day. Once I lay down to go to sleep, I lay it down and it starts charging. I have not timed the speed of the charging, but it charges at around 1 amp. Which is good enough for me. Use Ampere to measure the charging current.
Can you link the one you bought. I'm having trouble finding it.

So I got this Tudia case that is a two piece case. The Nilkin wireless receiver leaves a bump on the back of the case. So I cut out a section of the silicon part of the case. So the receiver fits and doesn't cause the buldge. Looks good and feels better in the hand.

Damn.
I never considered doing this. Lack of wireless charging is the biggest negative for me on the 6T. This adds it inexpensively, and provides intrusion protection to keep debris out of the charging port. Bonus.
Some nice clean installs gentlemen - thanks for sharing the idea and the implementation.

I had the note 8 and loved the wireless charging. That is why I bought the receiver for the 6T. I still have the dash charger in the box. Never used it and the 6T has incredible battery life.
Running the same setup with the flip case. Charging is not fast as my note 9 for sure, but gets the job done overnight just fine.

I purchased this one, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M11UT3V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_Rxw7BbM5F519D. It charged from about 35% to full in a little less than 4 hours overnight.

That's the one I have. I just charge my phone overnight as well. So charging speed does not matter to me.
I've tried a couple of different ones, but they don't show as charging on the phone. The charging light comes on but the battery stats don't show anything.
What wireless pads are you guys using? I have a Qi and just like the post above me, the light comes on, but there's nobody home.
Maybe I need a new wireless pad.
Thanks!
