It's expected to happen that way. Just re-flash root in TWRP. If you updated to Oreo, forget supersu, not working anymmore, use magisk. 14.6.

Flash blu spark TWRP via fastboot. Search the forum. Then install magisk 14.6. you should be good that way.

If I have formatted and installed with encryption disabled, what is the right way to get encryption back?
Can I just go into Settings>Security & Fingerprint>Encrypt Phone and enable it there?
Yup, that should do the trick. Didn't try on T3, but used same method on one of my prev phones.
Did that work?
I did it on OOS 4.1.1 with twrp and franco kernel installed. It worked for me :good:

Well all custom roms work fine with encrypted devices so i don't see why it shouldn't be possible to encrypt your device on a custom rom. If you want to be 100% sure ask in the thread of your rom

It worked. I disabled root to be on the safe side and encrypted. I get errors in twrp now, but they don't seem to effect anything.

Root is not a problem neither. i did it with root enabled.
That twrp error is normal. When you boot in twrp it shows the error that it can't mount data because you're encrypted and you need to type in your password first.
I also suggest you to use blu_spark's twrp because it's always updated. The official twrp for the op3t hasn't a maintainer anymore and it seems abbandoned..

I mean here on xda. The last build on xda is the 3.0.4.1 which it never came out. There was the 3.1.0.0 which had the wipe bug for the 3t. I don't know who is making those builds and i don't neither know if they test it.

You were talking about the official builds... That's the official downloads from the official TWRP website (https://twrp.me). There's a world outside XDA as well...
can i flash magisk using twrp and get root?
It worked for me using twrp from https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-emui-8-0-4-04-2018-t3773449 and magisk 16.0 on oreo firmware.
Quick answer...yes.
On Oreo (VTR-L09C432B360), I installed the 15.4 version from here... https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/development/magisk-p10-p10plus-t3752482 (it's for the P10 Plus but works on P10's as well)
You can then update to the latest version (v16) via the Magisk Manager app.

It's doable on any p10's right like I have the dual sim version.
One more question....to get the treble ROM I have to root right?
Those have flashed successfully, did your SafetyNet pass completely? ctsProfile is the only issue I'm having right now

Works on all P10's as far as I'm aware. Don't know about Treble, I'm on stock.

Damn, didn't work for me. Just the ctsProfile: False issue I'm having. On the B360 firmware using the latest TWRP that works for the P10 as well. Know of anything else I can do to fix this perhaps?
Try Magisk in core only mode and turn on Magisk Hide, other than that I don't know I'm afraid.
-i instaled magisk manager (16)
-patched the original boot parition (you have to untrigger both options in magisk manager..."keep force encryption" "keep AVB 2.0/dm-verity)
-flashed modified boot parition with TWRP
-all OK, safetynet OK

Hi DallasCZ,
May I ask you to be more specific?
I just ordered a P10 and I would like root it with Magisk (I alrady have a Lenovo Tab3 8Plus (TB-8703F) and successfully routed with Magisk (Safety Net check is green))
So, what are the steps? Can I use the original Magisk, or should I use a P10 specific? And how the OTA updates work with the Magisk? Eg.: Do you have to disable it before update? I hope not, since Magisk is systemless and the Oreo ROM is Treble "compatible". Oh, and could you give me a link to a working TWRP, which is compatible with the latest Oreo?
Thanks everything in advance!

Yes you jave to unlock bootloader first.
Finally I got my phone. Now I'm testing, and getting familiar with it. But after that, I really need some help / advice ...
So my questions are the follows:
If I open the bootloader (no root, no other modifications), will I get OTA updates, and will they work?
Which TWRP is recommended? twrp 3.2.1-0 OREO or TWRP 3.2.1-0 for EMUI 8.0 or another one? What is the difference between the first two?
Can I use the official Magisc? I'm on VTR-L29 8.0.0.360(C432)
And the "really big" question: Is it possible to have OTA updates and Magisk at the same time? If yes, how?

Guys, don't bother with answering my question. It seems that Huawei removed the possibility to get unlock code. So, right now it seems I'll never be able to root my device

Because we do not make a list of which modules work 100% in magisk in P10, since for example xposed produces a hard brick.

Interesting wording. If you mean that you can now toggle OEM unlocking on, then unlocking the bootloader with fastboot is the same no matter what device you have.

Like @p70shooter said. There is no other way to root besides magisk, and there is no TWRP as of yet. If rooting with 20.2 didn't work, then try 20.1. You can find it here :good: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases

Just a little FYI for you my friend. Have you downloaded the factory image coinciding with your current build? If not, then do so, then extract the factory image, then extract the image.zip, then pull the boot.img from there, place it on your phones internal storage, then try to patch it with magisk. I just did it myself with the 20.2 stable version and it worked fine :good:

Latest one is the magisk 20.4 stable one.

If it didn' boot with stock kernel, Then, you can flash Custom kernels Like oxygen and Helios for TW Oreo and then Flash Magsik.

it would probably be better to use stock recovery_ramdisk for LLD-L31 and patch it via magisk manager. It is true that Recovery and eRecovery are the same for ANE, LLD, BND devices, but there may be nuances...
So download the full stock LLD-L31 9.1.0.xxx from androidhost.ru and use the "Huawei update extractor" to extract the original Recovery_ramdisk.img (if you want to make a guide).
