Hi all, I've read that T-mobile Tab users are able to flash their tabs to the European firmware to enable the phone function? Has anyone flashed an asian firmware to be able to get the phone function too? Will it brick the T-mobile Tab upon flashing the Asian firmware on it? I guess its possible since the Asian firmware supports the 2100 band and you'll be able to get 3G out of it?
I guess the 3G will work if you are using the T-Mobile Tab flashed to an Asian firmware with a foreign sim and you are not in the US.
I'm needing to downgrade my firmware on my d5803 to a pre october version in order to do giefroot. I bought the phone unlocked international version so I'm not sure which firmware to put. The firmware thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706
Shows some firmwares are "Generic" and "Promoter". What does this mean? I don't want to flash a firmware with no radio or wrong lte bands or whatever.
I originally bought and used this phone on AT&T. I have since moved to Mint Mobile which runs on the T-Mobile network. Some features (like wifi calling) would be availible if I had a T-Mobile rom instead of an AT&T rom.
Is there any physical difference in the Phones (baseband, kernel etc.) that would preclude me from using Odin to flash an official G920T rom on my phone?
You can see from my signature I haven't been here for a while .. lol
Thanks in advance

G920A has Band 30 antennas, while G920T does not. Locked bootloader on G920A will prevent you from flashing G920T firmware. It's not like the S7 where the hardware is identical and software locked.
You can do the reverse, though: flash G920A firmware over G920T as unsigned firmware. But you still won't get Band 30 as it is physically not present.
Verizon is my carrier and I am upgrading to an S10 from an S7. I bought a new S10 loaded with the first Verizon version of Android 10, G973USQS2CSL1. I want to get rid of the bloatware and go back to Android 9. My plan is to flash the U1 firmware, G973U1UES2BSIV, using all 4 of the U1 files. Then flash the Verizon CSC file from this firmware, G973USQS2BSIV, so I can get the "Advanced Calling" for Verizon. I was going to try to do that on my S7 but never got around to it. Here's a thread I created on the S7 forum that said that's what I would need to do to run the unbranded firmware on the S7 but also have Verizon's Advanced Calling (wifi calling, video call, hd calling). https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/install-verizon-advanced-calling-g930u-t3997525
I noticed the S10 Verizon firmware now has a 5th file, a USERDATA file. Will I need to also flash that?
I wanted to point out, my new phone is currently locked, but Verizon automatically unlocks it after 60 days. https://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy Will it be a problem if I flash the unbranded firmware on a phone that is still locked? Since Verizon is my carrier, I will obviously be using a Verizon SIM card.
Thank for the help.
You can flash any firmware to your phone as long as it's for the U or U1 models as the "U" means Universal. Bought a phone from AT&T? Flash the Sprint or T-mobile firmware without issues. Same for Verizon and other U.S. carriers firmware.
Flashing the unbranded firmware will get rid of the bloatware, but will also get rid of other features like wifi calling, advanced calling, etc. The user data file is just all of Verizon's bloatware and info crap.
As for going back to Android 9, you can do that as long as you're still on the v2 bootloader. If you've upgraded to the v3 bootloader via OTA, you won't be able to return to Android 9.

I'm on v2 bootloader. Have you heard of flashing the VZW CSC file on top of the U1 unbranded firmware? Apparently people have done it on older devices, like the S7, that only took the 4 files when flashing. I'm trying to run unbranded firmware but still have the Verizon Advanced Calling (wifi calling, HD calling, video call).
Okay if you're on bootloader v2 then you can go back to Android 9. I haven't heard of flashing the carrier CSC file with the unbranded U1 firmware. It might work or might also brick your phone.
Hi everyone, I recently switched from AT&T to Sprint. Wondering if I can flash the Sprint radio to enable the cdma, or should I crossflash the unlocked version/Sprint version from in order to get the full bands compatible. Thanks a lot.....:highfive:
PS my V40 is running latest android 10.
I have a Sprint V405UA, bootloader unlocked via 9008 mode running Havoc OS 3.5. I experience no better than 1X or a single bar of 3G on Havoc OS, but I do have the stock Pie ROM/partitions in slot A (no Sprint Android 10 yet to my knowledge). On stock, service works like a charm with full LTE bands. I'm not too heavily experienced with the partition layout or radios of this phone. If someone were able to tell me where I can dump the radio to for a flashable ZIP, or if there is a system app that Sprint has installed to enable LTE bands and Wi-Fi/VoLTE that I can retrieve with root, I am happy to provide.
