[Stock Rom] PRA-LX1C109 - Factory reset stuck at 99% - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Hi Guys,
I haven't find so far (after reading hundreds of threats here and there) a clear solution to my problem.
To make it short :
Last EMUI update to 5.0.1 on my PRA-LX1C109B131 caused GPS instability.
I reported to Huawei France support but did not get any answer apart from launching a factory reset.
So I decided to install an alternative ROM.
I first unlocked the bootloader and taped OEM unlock from the developer's menu -> OEM Unlocked (FRP Unlock in Fastboot) and Bootloader was Unlocked
From instruction from a spanish forum I installed TWRP from Revolution Project (fastboot flash recovery TWRP_3.0.3-0_RevolutionRecoveryNougat_RC2.img).
From TWRP, I installed the ROM_MIDGARD_3V3.0_P8-P9LITE2017.zip backup.
This has fixed the GPS issue !
But I thought it could be nice to re-install a stock ROM and downgrade from C109B131 to C109B120.
I downloaded PRA-LX1C109B120-FullOTA-MF zip packages ("update.zip", "update_data_full_public.zip" et "PRA-L11_orange_all/update_full_PRA_orange_all.zip")
I unzipped the 2 first packages to get the UPDATE.APP file.
From the UPDATE.APP file I got BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img et SYSTEM.img and CUST.img
Then from fastboot :
fastboot flash boot BOOT.IMG -> success
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.IMG -> success
fastboot flash system SYSTEM.IMG -> success
fastboot flash cust CUSTOM.IMG -> success
fastboot reboot
From Huawey recovery, I did a wipe/cache and then a factory reset / wipe data.
Then installation starts ang get stuck at 99%
I left the phone for about 15/20 minutes.
In the end I re-installed the Midgard ROM and restored my data.
I'd like to know if I did something wrong or if I missed something.
Perhaps I need to flash recovery2 file.
I saw that some say I need to unlock again the bootlaoder although it is shown as unlock.
Please advise.

You can try find a full twrp backup and restore it following instructions in this forum, i dont know if the twrp b182 backup its valid for you, search about this and good luck!
Enviado desde mi PRA-LX1 mediante Tapatalk

Thanks for this but I'd like to know first why the factory reset remains at 99%
I know for sure the build build C109B120 I downloaded is fully compatible with my P8 lite 2017 so it should be no problem re-flashing it.
Since the last EMUI official update to version 5.0.1 a lot of users (at least on French, Italian and Spanish forum) reported some GPS issue (signal is lost after 15/20 minutes). Rebooting the device fix this.
No official fix yet from Huawei.
EDIT : another bug was also reported regarding wifi slow transfer rate when blutooth is activated.
I tested myslef and confirm that on my device if blutooth is activated wifi transfer rate drops down from 3/4 Mb per s. to less than 100kb / s.

I posted this procedure on a French forum and got feed-back. It works.
Perhaps i dont't wait enough time when the EMUI installation process reaches 99%.
I forced the shutdown of the device by pressing the power button after approximatively 20 minutes

You have 2 choices with this.
If you can still boot into TWRP,
1. Flash the Beta Update.zip
2. Power off phone.
3. Press up button whilst powering up phone.
4. You will now be in stock recovery and you can perform a factory reset.
5. the device will now boot in to N beta but will be missing the vendor apps.
There is another way to fix if this doesn't work. Tell me if this method works first.
Edit: I just read in the op that you flashed the update and had stock recovery.
The reason it won't boot is because you need to have b322 flashed and you have to factory reset to repair the corrupt file system. To do this follow these instructions.
1. You need to flash the Boot, Recovery and System images from b322 in fastboot.
2. Then enter stock recovery (Vol + and Power)
3. Then factory reset (this is essential as it repairs the file system and enables boot)
4. The device will then boot.
5. (Optional )If you want to go back from the beta you have to flash the rollback.app to b300 through th dload method first then you can flash a Android 6.0 through the dload method.

You can flash both.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery2 recovery2.img
I don't think it is essential but it won't hurt to do it anyway.

I seen you PM. I am not sure it will wok by flashing B182. I think you have to flash B322 first.
Regards
fist you have to flash stock recovery from emui 5(android N) through fastboot.
second , download the rollback package, extract it and put it on dload folder of external storage.
third, turn off the phone , and press vol up + vol down + power button together to enter forced update mode.
if it is successful system will boot and you should flash android M firmware using dload method then u should unlock bootloader, install twrp, wipe /system /cache /data and then flash update.zip(android N) and hw_data of your firmware one after another.
i hope this help you.
still phone is not booting
I redownload b322, extracted Boot.img System.img Recovery.img Recovery2.img and Cust.img with
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454 Update Extractor
Flashed all .img true fastboot
But still nothing
Stuck on bootloader screen "Your device is unlocked, and can't be trusted"
Maybe i need flash some more images from b322.
Its look like phone cant pass bootloader.
Any sugestions?
P.S. Phone still have warranty, but booloader is unlocked
and fastboot oem relock ************** ends with failed.
"Failed - root cant trusted"
Sugestions how to lock it?
I had my phone bricked from testing cm, and going back to stock. My solution was to flash dload and recovery from the 182, followed by dload flash of 182.
@richish
caution : these commands will format the partition
can u use these command ?
"fastboot format /system"
"fastboot format /data"
or "fastboot erase /system"=> this will erase system partition
Phone is live now.
I downloaded DC-Phoenix and bought 15 credits
flashed stock B182 via DC-phoenix and phone booted.
I recomand this apllication for everybody who have similar problems.
THX for everybody who helpped.

How can i sign up for an account, it alway said wrong username or password !:crying:
DC-Phoenix is not cheap but it also cured my phone after bricking it with flashfire where all other methods did not work.
if you use it follow the instructions carefully and do the 2 step flashing although it will work after the first one. if you don`t do the second flash the partition sizes are wrong and a dload update will fail.

Hi everyone
I would like to share the problem that i am having with my p9 , so maybe i can get your help.
Firstly i had L19C185 version and i changed Oeminfo in order to install c636 Beta 7.0 Nougat.
I installed the nougat but then realized that i dont have stock apps in my phone, so by mistakely tried to install TWRP for 6.0 Marshmallow and my problem started here.
Now my phone can not boot. its stuck in Phone is booting now ( the screen when you unlock bootloader after huawei logo) , and its never booting. it stays like that.
I tried to flash rboot.img , recovery.img and System.Img from fast boot. but whenever im trying to flash system.img after boot and recovery.img, a get an error and never succeeded to flash system.img. Im trying to flash these .img files from L19C636b180.
Can you please help me or give me some advice because none of mobile services couldnt fix and flash new software. maybe because they dont know exactly what should they do. and in my country i couldnt find anyofficial huawei service provider.
Please help me how to fix my phone.
I also had serious problems with flashing the thing back to stock.
TWRP was broken too for me.
I've done that to fix it all
The ONLY way that worked for me was
1. Download EVA-L19C636B168 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-stock-rom-eva-l19c636b168-t3419586
2. Download that SRK tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-bootloader-root-t3374068
3. Flash the recovery from the SRK tool, you can do that with the tool or directly via fastboot (i don't know other proper source for the correct recovery img)
4. Put the image EVA-L19C636B168 (UPDATE.app) in the "dload" folder of your sd card
5. Start phone in dload mode (Hold all 3 buttons at start) and let the update do it's job
What about recovery??? Does 3 button combination works? Whats heppens if u hold volup and power button when turning phone on!
Situation looks similar what i had.
Only solution for me was dc-phoenix.
U have tu buy 15 points to flash phone (15eur) But it works.
I'm 99% sure that there are bootloader comands what is same as for dc-phoenix,but i dont know them.
Sent from my EVA-L19 using XDA-Developers mobile app
please help
i had bricked my p9 L09 twrp not working noting working only fastboot mode is working plzzz help me in finding boot.img recovery.img system.img

Issues with flashing TWRP and rooting VIE-AL10

Firstly I need to say that I've read the forums from top to bottom before posting this, so I'm pretty sure no one here experienced this particular issue here on a P9 Plus at least.
I've tried tried to flash TWRP in order to be able to root my P9 Plus.
To do this I did the following steps:
1. Enable Developer Options in settings
2. Enable USB debugging
3. Successfully unlocked my bootloader using a code from Huawei
4. Entered fastboot mode and flashed the latest TWRP 3.1.1 recovery from their website
5. After Huawei's eRecovery kept opening I (after a suggestion in another post in the forums) flashed TWRP on recovery2 as well.
6. Phone stuck in "Your device is booting now..." screen and only booting in fastboot mode is working.
Any ideas what I've broken and how I could possibly fix it?
EDIT: At this point I'm willing to flash everything back to stock, however I'm not sure if I've got the VIE-AL10C00 or VIE-AL10BC00. I'm using the 64GB Dual SIM Chinese version of the phone with Android N and got both firmwares downloaded (updatebc183 for BC00 and 198 for C00 which are the latest for both versions) and ready.
EDIT2: I downloaded the correct latest full update 198 for my VIE-AL10C00 (as it turns out) and extracted the recovery and recovery2 images, then flashed them along with boot.img. Still having the same issue. (I need to say that in fastboot I can't flash anything other than recovery, recovery2 and boot images)

Bootloop Issue P7-L10

Hi guys, I'm completely newbie in Adroid stuff, and need help to get back my phone.
My software:
ROM Versio: V100R001C00B133SP01
EMUI: 2.3
KitKat[/INDENT]
So, what I did before:
Unlock boot loader
Installed TWRP 2.8
Installed Kingo Root
Got rooted
Installed Super SU
My issue:
Following the article, posted on this thread link, I got some some errors, then I tried by myself extract boot, cust, system and recovery from Huawei Extractor for ROM: Sophia-L10_V100R001C00B621_Firmware_West%20European%20Region_Others_Android%204-2 and ran the following commands using ADB:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img
After doing this, my phone got in boot loop, I did some search here, and found a force recovery method (putting B133 ROM on SD root directory DLOAD folder and tried force update without sucess.
Does anyone any suggestion to get my phone back?
By the way, my final gola is got Lollipop or Marshmallow working on this phone if it can be alive again
Thank you,
Ivan

System update with TWRP??

Hi guys,
my P10 (stock rom, rooted and TWRP installed) says I can install a new system update: VTR-L09C02B151
So it downloads the update, then reboot, but TWRP shows up and so no update is done.
How can I install this update?
Thank you
Would probably need to be on stock recovery
Hi,

It's easy:
===============================
Step 1 - Back to Stock recovery:
Download this recovery - https://mega.nz/#!ucAnQD5D!VZETUq38R_drskwFgOXz_aK9wIsoIlbjUS5KHrULcTY
Connect your phone to PC and run these commands
adb devices (check your phone is connected)
adb reboot bootloader (reboot in fastboot mode)
fastboot devices (check your phone is in fastboot mode)
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img (flash to stock recovery)
fastboot reboot (reboot the phone)
==================================
Step 2 - Download System Update and install it
Go to Settings -> System Update -> Check for Update
==================================
Step 3 - Flash TWRP again
Download TWRP 3.1.1-2 - https://mega.nz/#!8JwhzBzD!jiuod03amEPlWpo1LD7GWiwP62Z9I97F_TEarmXRrFU
Download SuperSU 2.82 for EMUI5 - https://mega.nz/#!WAYhHRwC!KAaTqWDID9-0e4s4RuKmUN_AKWBPjDJ0ynTXi7sYAv4
Put the 2.6.SuperSU2.82-EMUI5-SelEnforcing.zip in your SD card
Connect your phone to PC and run these commands
adb devices (check your phone is connected)
adb reboot bootloader (reboot in fastboot mode)
fastboot devices (check your phone is in fastboot mode)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (flash to TWRP)
fastboot boot recovery.img (reboot into recovery)
Go to "Install" menu and choose storage "Micro SD card" and install 2.6.SuperSU2.82-EMUI5-SelEnforcing.zip
Go to "Reboot" menu and press System for normal reboot.
Tested and works on my WAS-LX1C432.
Maybe this guide can be no more valid..
On my P10, updating from B179 to B180 (due to system notification) and TWRP/root installed, update process fails always.
So I extracted recovery.img from B179 Full-OTA update, flashed over TWRP and started system upgrade process, who completed successfully to B180.
However now I get FRP Unlock, (as before update) but PHONE Locked.
So system upgrade has overwrited the unlocked bootloader with a locked one.
Now, to reflash TWRP and apply root, I've to "fastboot oem unlock *Here Huawei Code*" for the second time, loosing all my apps, datas and settings!!
And each time a new update is available is the same way.. you have to go back to stock, and a new unlock will loose all your data....
Really annoying!
Step 2 - Download System Update and install it
Go to Settings -> System Update -> Check for Update
Click to collapse
So once I got to this part, it downloaded the update and then the phone rebooted into the stock eRecovery, but whenever it would try and install the update, it would say "Getting package info failed." Any ideas?
Hey I know I'm bumping here, but I'm seriously still at a loss with this. Stock recovery flashes fine, but every single time I try to install the new update, it comes up with ""Getting package info failed." If anyone has experienced this, it'd be great to get it resolved.

Update from VIE-L29C636B360 to B362+

Situation
Currently I am running VIE-L29C636B320, with EMUI 5 and Android 7.0. The phone is runs fine
So when I am to install , boot to recovery mode:
It gives
"Your device is booting now... "
And stuck there forever. I can get my phone back to working state by rebooting 3 times.
I tried the following methods..
> using dload+**#*#2846579#*#*, )
> I currently cannot boot into TWRP at all (I am using TWRP3.1.1 for Huawei p9 plus already), and all the key combinations doesn't work.
> Firmware Finder with Proxy Add-on
> fastboot flash reccover twrp.img (phone oem unlocked already)
> Huawei e-recovery does not detect any packages to download.
So I suspect something wrong with my img files..
My plan is:
Using Huawei Extractor to extract all img's (system, boot custom and recovery) from B360
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img
It took me a while to get to where I am now from EMUI 4.1. What I don't want to is lose my working phone and make my phone completely useless.
So my question is, are the above steps no u-turn and I would completely screwed? Or safe to get those img's back and then I should be able to continue to upgrade from B320 to 362 and onwards?
Since I cannot boot into TWRP, I can't take backup of my phone..
