Guys,
Is it possible to do the following:
1. Remove network branding on VTR-L09
2.Turn it into VTR-L29 (not want to if it effects warranty)
3.Install original SIM FREE type rom
4.Not effect warranty at all ie.. not be rooted.
That a n00b like me can easily do?.
1. Yes
2. Yes and No To Warranty
3. Yep
4. Yeah
5. nothing related of that stuff is not recommended to a n00b
Find yourself a guy that knows what he´s doing and use this:

Other option let the guys at funkyhuawei.club do their magic, but you have to pay for that.

Well I have a few questions (I am sure I am not the only one wondering). They are:
1) If I hard Reset after flashing, will I have to reflash? (I assume no, but better safe then sorry)
2) Now that I did the Hard-SPL and Flashed, If I want to reflash, can I do it from my Rhodium?
3) With my CR, can I install custom fonts? Any chance this will brick my mobile?
4) Do any roms support full flash? (I can almost get Hulu on skyfire now, but it tells me I am outside the USA, which I am not. I am in Ohio)
5) Are their any apps that will let me fake my IP (even though I should not have to, as like I said, I am in Ohio & even took my Sim card out)
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I appriciate any and all help you fine folks can provide.
1. No, a hard reset just puts everything back to as if you had just flashed that ROM - i.e. no added applications/data, and settings to default.
2. If you want to flash a ROM then you can do it from SD card if you want, not sure if that's what you mean.
3. Sorry but I don't know what you mean by "CR".
4. Now you're talking about Adobe Flash, right ? I think that Internet Explorer supports Flash.
5. Don't know. I would be suprised if there weren't. Surely you can just use any web browser to go to one of the many IP-hiding services on the Internet ?

SGS phones can be unlocked very easily and free.
First get root (if you don't already have it) and then start reading this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761045
This is the safest way AFAIK.

Firstly you will need to enable side-loading applications (that is, enable installation of non-market applications). You find this in Settings > Applications > Development (from memory - it's something like that).
Then you will need to install z4root, probably by clicking on the .apk file you downloaded. After that, it will appear as a program in your launcher. Run it, and click the button to root your phone. There have been reports of it not working on 2.2.1 firmware, but on 2.2 you should be fine.
Once z4root has done its thing, you should be able to install the unlocker, and run that one too. Sorry, I can't help you too much with this one - my phone was unlocked to start with - just make sure you follow the instructions carefully and you should be OK.

I don't care about data on this phone. Yes, but it's "GERMAN 1&1 Branded Version!" and i want to install V10E, do you think it should work for this one ?

You don't need to use 1&1. Use any of THESE.
Hi all, just got redirected from my previous post. I post:
"I recently just ordered a brand new Uk Orange locked N7000.
I love the look of Stunner ROM, yet wondering if it's okay for me to:
1. Back up /efs
2. Root
3. Mobile odin > flash Rom.
4. Get "Galaxy Unlock" app from market to unlock my phone *as I read it only work with rooted phone*
Will doing this, with an orange sim inside, without unlocking to GSM, cause any problem during the process?
If I can help it, I would love to avoid paying for £20 for unlock code. However, if that seem to be a better choice, please suggest me so.
Any helps are much appreciated.
Cheers again

1. back up your EFS using EFS Pro.
2. it's OK to root your device. Go here for detailed instructions.
3. once you're rooted you can flash Roms either via Mobile Odin or ClockWorkMod Recovery (do a forum or Google search).
4. you can try to unlock your phone using Galaxy S Unlock, but it's an invasive and somewhat dangerous procedure, so I'd advise against it.
Thanks you chasdomo for the quick and really helpful reply.
Does this mean flashing a carrier-locked note won't cause any problems as long as I have the carrier-sim [In my case an Orange sim]? (Because I read somewhere before, mentioning that some carrier-locked device will only function with their provided system; after flashing the device to a custom ROM, it remain locked in emergency mode -even with the proper sim inside; like- does rooting and flashing render an official sim useless somehow?)
P/s: I'm extremely sorry for bad English.
Hey guys/gals
I am seriously considering looking into putting ICS on my Note by using these forums and guides etc (I am a complete knowledgeless noob when it comes to this root/flash etc etc stuff), but I would like to know the following if someone would be kind enough to answer -
1- If I tamper with my device, and if said device ever has to go back to the network operator for repairs etc, how can I wipe everything and revert back to factory settings? is it as simple as hitting factory settings? I would not want them to refuse to service/repair/replace the device if I messed around with it. So is this reversible?
2- what is the best and most simplest way to put ICS on my n7000 if I chose to go down this route and not wait for my UK network operator (Orange) to release their own one? (maybe someone can link me to a good option?)
3- If the part 2 is done, should I get rid of it and use the operator version once they release? or stick with the one I am contemplating installing.
Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial, would appreciate the help
Kind regards
Barry,

I will try to answer in a short manner.
1. You can allways flash a stock GB or ICS no matter what you might have done to it. Atleast aslong as it is functioning properly.
2. In my opinion the best and simplest way is to flash a stock ICS through PC Oding. Here is a good guide and plenty of Stock Roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
3. I wouldnt get a operator version since they are usually even more bloated than samsungs stock version. And I dont see any benefits with a operator branded version.
Regards
Thank you Belfia,
I will consider this a little more, and it seems that I need to purchase a Micro SD to do all this? so that is next on my to-do list
Regards,
Barry
