I rooted my SM-G530W Galaxy with Android 5.1.1 and it worked great until I tried to install Xposed.
Well after hours of work and gigabytes of files downloaded I'm still stuck.
Here is where I am at this point. I can't get the recovery screen, only the download screen so I can still flash CF-Auto-Root successfully but the phone just stops at the animated samsung screen after reboot again.
dr.fone won't even detect the device but ODIN and Kies3 do.
Uninstalled KIES3 to avoid possible conflicts with ODIN
I downloaded sdk tools for Windows but can't figure it out.
Lastly I downloaded a factory ROM and I've tried to flash it with ODIN which fails every time. ODIN checks the MD5 file and says it's ok but seems to fail after "NAND write start". Seems weird that CF-Auto-Root still works but the factory ROM won't but I really don't know much about that.
So ANY help will be much appreciated folks. Thank you very much, Wally.

Just something else to work on. Any Ideas ?

So my G5 Active was rooted and I had all of my mods and root apps etc. but then one day an at&t update appeared so since i had safestrap and multiple backups i wanted to see if supersu's survival mode worked... Well it did not work so the i went to reboot my phone and the safestrap boot screen didn't popup nor can i go into the safestrap recovery installer and boot into safestrap by clicking "boot into safestrap". So not the end of the world i don't desperately need root (even though i would like it back) but the playstore cant connect to the internet. I have tried re-installing and uninstalling updates. So this is really annoying and in my opinion a big problem but when i went to my workplace the next day and i connected to the Wifi at my workplace it worked again so then i realized that the only difference between my wifi and my offices wifi is that my offices wifi uses a proxy. So then i though it was the host file since i was having this problem right before i lost root and updated gapps and i had adaway. I cant access the host file without root and i tried using ADB push/pull and when i try to push it back it says read only interface so now I'm really stuck and help wold be much appreciated. Thank for taking the tome to read this.
I believe you have to ODIN back to before the update and then block the update, I haven't seen anyone say this is successful but what I understand it should be.

I did exactly that last night. I used ODIN to downgrade to Build ANE4 after the OTA update installed Build ANG3 on my Galaxy S5 Active. I had to do a factory reset afterward because my stock email app was repeatedly crashing. But towelroot worked and I'm back to normal with the OTA update frozen by Titanium Backup.

V3 Bluetooth
I too used the V3 tool to root but at the end my phone wouldn't recognize the Gear. I ended up wiping everything, used the V1 then the V2 and finally got the gear back to where I could use it. Did the OTA and all seems okay. Going to try an root using V2 instead. My question is once that is all successful what can I do different? Can I download a keyboard onto the Gear? As a NOBE where do I go to find a new ROM , find out how to flash it and then what I can do from there? I will apologize upfront for my beginner questions. Thanks

APK Apps aren't working?
I installed Nova Launcher and Flesky Keyboard and each time I try to use them on the Gear Live I get this message "unfortunately Nova Launcher has stopped". Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong or need to do to be able to use these apps on my Gear Live?
Did you have time to test it with the recent 5.0.1 update? I'd love to use your Utility to restore my watch to its factory state but I'm not sure if it would break (I know, there's always a chance).
Do you think I can try flashing the images without damaging it?
Used V3 of this utility to flash stock image after of temp rooting for data extraction. Now it won't pair with any phone anymore. No Bluetooth. Can't get adb to work as I can't authorize the computer to flash anything else.
Watch is a useless now. Heads up to others.
At leat I have an excuse to buy a Moto now
UPDATE: IT LIVESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
So I didnt know that the watch could go into fastboot with some custom taps and such. Did those, got into fastboot, used V2 toolkit and all is well now!!!
How to for others:
1. Hold the power button until the Gear Live reboots
2. When you see the Samsung Logo on the screen swipe your finger from top left to bottom right of screen twice while still holding power
Success!!!!!!!!!!

Galaxy Gear Unauthorized
I am not able to pair phone with watch via Bluetooth after using this tool. I unlocked the bootloader but when I could not use the watch I decided to relock the bootloader and reattempt the steps again. Now I am getting (R3AF700JARM UNAUTHORIZED). I factory reset watched became a developer and enable ADB debugging, but I still cannot unlock the bootloader and still shows unauthorized. WHat is the next step
I cannot get it to recognize my watch
I purchased a Samsung Gear Live refurbished off amazon and it had Build Number = sprat-userdebug 4.4W.1 KGW42N 1387258 dev-keys installed. It will not update and I want to be able to put other watch faces on it. I heard that if you reset to stock google wear it would fix it.But I used your software v3 and installed adb drivers but does not recognize the watch?
Any help would be Great!!!

Superuser.apk in my Gear Live
Hello.
After using the Tool, I was able to restore my Gear Live, and get updates (Originally it comes with bad firmware, from bestbuy).
I only have one problem. After several updates, I have AndroidWear 5.1.1. I got OTAS from 4.4w, justo normally, but the process
left me with Superuser.apk installed.
I can't uninstall it, and if I try to run it, I get an error, and the apk closes.
Is there something I can do, to eliminate this app? I tried with temproot, but I can't access to original system folder in my Gear Live.
Can you, or anyone help me with this problem?
I flashed KMV78Ystock.zip. In theory, it is a stock rom dump. I can't see the Superuser.apk, if I mount the image.
I just want my Gear Live factory restored. I hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance!

Gear Live watch only shows TWRP menu from team win
So i am not a programmer and don't know most of this stuff, I just followed instructions. I installed root, recovery, and system images through cmd prompt. I lost bluetooth and other functionallity but it seemed to update to a newer version. I then attempted to flash TWRP which put my phone in a state that only shows the TRWP menu. I have restarted, rebooted, tried installing other images but i really don't know what to do. Can anyone help, Please!
I have a note 5 phone
watch is reconditioned, it was in some kind of mode that is not the original factory mode, many features were not working or not there. that is why i started this process.

Hello. I was trying to root my phone using instructions from here: http://www.androidvillaz.com/2016/03/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s6-on-marshmallow-6.0.1.html
Once the kernel wrote and said successful, I was no longer able to turn on my phone.
What I've done for the past several hours was try to download stock images and write them on using Odin but to no avail. I've searched all over the internet and there doesn't seem to be an answer or I don't get it.
My model number according to the android recovery (I don't have TWRP yet) is G920AUCS4CPG1 Android 6.0.1.
I'm able to access Android Recovery, download mode and I have Samsung Drivers installed on my PC to use with Odin.
I'm not super familiar with adb but if that needs to be used I can figure it out.
I'm willing to paypal 50 US bucks to whoever gives me the right advice to get my phone working again. If this last line is in violation of rules please remove.
I'm desperate. Help.

There is not a root available for AT&T phones running
G920AUCS4CPG1
I don't think there is a root available for AT&T after 5.11 Android...but I could be wrong.
I would restore your phone to stock rom and then reupdate using OTA after that.

Hello, i hope i'm posting this in the right place. I'll try to be as short and descriptive as i can about my situation.
I tried to root a phone first time ever and i have no skill in this type of thing whatsoever. I followed a video for instructions and ended up with "Magisk is not installed."
The phone i tried this on is a Galaxy Note 9, model number SM-N960F. Android version 10.
I used Odin3 v3.13.1, twrp-3.2.3-0-crownlte_UNOFFICIAL and N9_S9_Root_for_OEM_issue_devices_V3.
I also uninstalled/reinstalled MagiskManager and tried a newer version.
Currently i'm stuck and in a pit of despair without a clue what to do next. Any help is greatly appreciated.
*EDIT i'm currently looking at 1 click rooting methods, but this might be a bad idea.

I've done so many factory resets and wipes(somewhere in the 20s.) I have finally given up on this. Because now i've ended up stuck, impossible to get past ODIN. I get this wonderful little message: "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed."

Give it time for someone to be able to help.
Not everyone has a note 9 and should be posted on note 9 forums.
The reasons why you are getting official binary error is OEM is locked and/or you have KG and/or Rmm state being in prenornal state.

With those phones I'm pretty sure you have to power the phone on by pressing vol up and power, then release the two when you see the bootloader warning screen. This boots the phone into root mode. Just pressing power normally boots them into normal mode.

this was just my issue.
after following {awebsite}topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html, to the letter and going round in circles, it was this simple bit that i was missing.
once magisk has gone through the process once, it seems that the root is applied automatically going on.
as a hint, if you install titanium backup *root required* from the play store, then you can check very quickly if you presently have root or not.
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone here can give me advice on how (or if!) I can recover from a bootloop after a failed Magisk update attempt, without losing the data on my tablet...
My Tab S8 was boot-looping constantly after I tried a Magisk update; trying the plugged-in-volume-up+volume-down trick from this thread gives me the screen with options for Continue, Device Unlock Mode, or Cancel. Before I go any further, I really want to make sure I don't do something that will accidentally wipe all my data!
I'm a long-time Android user and generally just competent enough to follow instructions (like the incredibly helpful howto guide in this forum!) and root my various phones and tablets, but tbh I don't have a full understanding of the various modes and what does / doesn't wipe the data on the device. I have a handful of documents on it that I would really like not to lose, so I don't want to screw this up by choosing options I don't fully understand... Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
(Or if someone with actual clue is willing to jump on a web meeting and help me recover it without losing data, I'll gladly compensate you for your time...)
Thank you in advance,
Lisa
Have you tried the Root How-To's instructions to update your firmware without wiping, only using the same version of the firmware your were on already?
Apologies if you already tried that.

Thank you! I looked at that, but haven't tried it yet - my concern is that I don't know why the Magisk update failed, so I don't know whether trying the Root How-To's update would run into the same problem. The bootloop is incredibly difficult to interrupt - I had to try the volume up + volume down multiple times before getting the timing right.
If that's the best way to proceed, though, I can certainly give it a shot!

I do believe it's the best option since Magisk needs to be updated in the AP file. You likely need to dirty flash to stock first, if possible (not rooted, without wiping), so that you can have a working system to use the Magisk app to manually patch the AP file, copy the AP file back to the computer as the instructions say, then flash again.

THANK YOU for your advice here! I was just able to restore it to the original firmware simply by following the Root How-To's update-without-wiping instructions. Currently debating whether I really want to update it and risk further problems, or just stick with the working firmware... But either way, I was able to recover the documents I need and it's great to have the tablet working again. I really appreciate your help!
Be well,

You're welcome, glad that helped! I know I was nervous the first time I updated Magisk, but I did it at the same time I updated the firmware. That is, I would've had to update the Magisk app first, so that I could apply that updated Magisk to the new AP file.
