SM-T715 - Downgrade to Stock Rom 5.0.2 - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello ,
i have bought off ebay an Tab S2 8.0 SM-T715.
Found out on other Samsung Devices that upgrades beyond Lollipop did harm the capabilities of the Device (for example on Galaxy Note 4 + Marshmallow) to use Internet Reverse Tethering over Bluetooth PAN properly (with a Mac).
Therefore i would like to downgrade the device to Stock ROM 5.0.2.
Do i need a PIT File for achieving this or does it work withouth ? I have not received the device yet but am asking in advance.
Last year i used a 2016 Tab S2 and found out that the above described functionality was hindered, most probably because it was running Marshmallow .
I am aware that it is risk to stay on lower operating system version, but it is not nice either to loose a functionality one has grown accustomed and which is very nice for home use (use Bluetooth instead of WiFI for providing the Tablet with Internet Data).

Samsung Gear on Samsung GS4 CyanogenMod 12.1 Can't start Gear Manager Plz Help

Hi There,
I got Gear S as a present few days ago, but was having real tough time installing Gear Manager. I tried different methods that I found online, but no luck. I keep getting this message ( The operating system on your phone has been modified in an unauthorized way, and is not compatible with the Samsung Gear app. Check your operating system and try again. )
I tired it on 2 phones with no luck.
#1 Galaxy S4 (Canadian Rogers) running Cyanogen 12.1 Lollipop 5.1.1 (Android market shows Gear Manager as unsopported, but I managed to install it with an apk file just to get above message)
#2 Galaxy S5 (Canadian Rogers) running BlissPop v3.2 Lollipop 5.1.1 (also tried flashing Marshmallow 6.0 with same result)
The only phone that worked was S5 with stock rom that I borrowed from my wife.
Can someone point me in the right direction, I would really like to use this watch especially on my S4
Thank You
Happy New Year

I have the same issue with my Note 2. I see where people can trick Gear Manager into thinking it is on a Samsung device when it is not, surely there is some way to make it thinks or can't tell if it is on a rooted/custom ROM device? Would greatly appreciate any feedback or ideas!

Root the new Tab s2 T819N

Hi,
Is there a way to root the new upgraded Tab s2 T819N or the T813N?
Just received it today and want to root but can't find not much on these new tab s2's
Thanks.
I don't have the device (yet), but the new Snapdragons are going to be rootable with Chainfire SuperSU zip when a custom recovery like TWRP is available.
The Galaxy A9 Pro has almost the same specs as the the new Tab S2: Same CPU/Chipset and same Android Version out-of-the-box (Marshmallow). I've seen a video on Youtube on how to root the Galaxy A9 Pro and maybe, just maybe, the TWRP for it is compatible with the newer versions of the Tab S2. Feel free to try at your own risk. I would risk it by myself, but as I've said, I don't have the device yet.
quite a challenge, any chance to brick the device ?
or just wait till a new custom recovery is out?

welcome. one of my best things to do on XDA is pull out old devices that have cool hardware but outdated software and I flash them with new ROMs.

Use Samsung Dex on rooted Device

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this whole rooting thing. I wanted to know if Samsung Dex is working on a rooted Galaxy S10 running on Android 12 (One UI 4.0). I already know that Samsung Pay and Knox don't work after rooting. Any response would be appreciated.
Greetings
