I bought a used note 3, when I look up the imei it come back a n9005, the device came with n900tuvufob6 on it, and under the battery the label states it's a n900a. I'm running darklord n5 on it now but would like to flash to a different rom and had one heck of a time with it. Would like to know what I really got for future flashing to be safe without running into bootloops etc. Thanks
Hello,
If your device has N900A behind the battery then the device SHOULD be a N900A, BUT, it could be that it was flashed with another model than N900A, it could be N900A with the other model IMEI(device may have been cloned to repair bad IMEI), could be N900A rear casing with the other model hardware in it. If it ends up being N900A with something altered then if you want to put it back to the original N900A just flash the N900A stock firmware via Odin and it will make it the true N900A again but that isn't necessary and won't cause you any issues if you don't change it back as long as it is working fine with what it has right now.
These are just possibilities to investigate. To assist you further with narrowing down what you actually have, your thread will be moved to your device Q&A forum linked below.

The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.
What model # is shown in download mode?
N900t
In download mode it says it's a n900t, I was wondering if you could recommend a good rom that is fast, 4g lte, on lollipop, with everything working, all and a kernel for my device that can be over clocked... could you also give me the links as well
Hi everyone,
So I recently bought a softbricked note 4, that would hang on the at&t boot animation. As I was trying to solve this, I noticed the model number behind the battery and on the back cover was n910t, so I thought it to be the tmobile variant...
However, all I ended up doing was deleting /data and it booted into setup, working perfectly. When I go into about this device, it shows n910a as the model number. When I plug it into smart switch, it shows as n910t, with n910a showing as the model number below it.
I would like to install root and custom recovery, but attempts to flash in Odin do fail, so am I safe to assume that this is for sure the at&t variant with a locked bootloader? What gives with the mismatched model numbers? Does anyone else have something like this?
Thanks so much

What the model number shows in odin download mode N910A or N910T ? If it shows SM-N910A then it's AT&T note 4 and its not rootable.
In download mode model number is the correct original motherboard model.
ignore the sticker behind battery and smart switch it could be refurbished with fake software.
Unfortunately for me, it does show N910A in download mode, despite what the sticker and back of the phone say, so every attempt I've made to flash in Odin failed, except for updating from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1. I really appreciate your help - I thought originally that perhaps it was in the boot loop because someone tried to flash an at&t rom onto a t-mobile variant. Anyway, glad to have that sorted! Thanks so much

Hello,
I currently own a Note 5 that I have been using for almost a year now. I live in a Lebanon, a country where we only have two telecom providers, and Sprint is not even one of them.
In my Software Info screen, my model says SM-N920F, but using a boot loader, the model is: SM-N920P.
I tried installing custom ROMS for SM-N920C but they wont boot and get stuck on the Samsung logo screen.
Is there any way I can turn it into a SM-N920C so I can benefit from all the ROMS available for SM-N920C?
It's really hard to find any working ROM for SM-N920F/P ( I really don't know which version I am )
I bought my Note 5 second handed from a local store.
Thanks a lot guys!
I'm not exactly sure, but it sounds like someone flashed a secondary boot image (kernel) for the P model. The settings screen doesn't mean much because any dev can put any device model in the xml, most ports say SM-G955 or SM-N950 which are S8+ and Note 8 roms. If I were you I would try flashing back to stock with Odin, are you rooted by chance?
hello I have the same problem on the settings is the n920f but on the boot loader n920p please if you have found a solution thank you
Hello I've bought a secondhand
Samsung Galaxy S6 (refurbished)
It is a Verizon or T-mobile phone (Not sure, don't know US carriers. Model says SM-G920T, must be T-mobile, I suppose... )
Seller claimed it is unlocked for other carriers, and it is, it works fine with Canadian carriers SIM cards.
But Samsung pay and Samsung Health wouldn't open, saying the phone is ROOTED.
I've downloaded the RootChecker app, and tested the phone, result:
it isn't rooted.
Background info:
Settings -> About Device -> Status -> Device status
Custom
Settings -> About device -> Model Number
SM-G920T
Settings -> About device -> Build number
NRD90M.G920TUVS6FRC1
My Android version is 7.0
Developer options
OEM unlock - yes
I've downloaded and installed Samsung drivers
developer[.]samsung[.]com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows[/url]
Then, found this
desktop[.]firmware[.]mobi/device:411/firmware:15878
Friendly name Galaxy S6
Model SM-G920T
Name zerofltetmo
Device zerofltetmo
Board universal7420
Android
- Release 7.0
Display ID NRD90M.G920TUVS6FRC1
It is precisely what my phone is.
Odin connected the phone and flashed the firmware
Odin says PASS
Device reboots
(NO blue "Pirate" Android screen)
Just Ordinary SAMSUNG screen with
RED writing
Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing
And device reBoots to normal
I've tested with RootChecker, no root.
Am I missing something? It seemed super easy in the guides and on Youtube.
And it was simple, aside from the fact phone is not rooted in the end...
i'm facing the same issue.what's the solution?
Hello, friendly internet ghosts!
Yesterday I've bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 (in the system it says GT-i9515 but on the box GT-i9505)
The seller said he bricked the device at a shop to lineage 15.1 and after that, he had a no sim card error and that is the reason why he sold it.
I bought the phone thinking that if I would unbrick it back to original stock ROM (Netherlands PHN) it would work again, but NO! damn phone! Tried all different version (AP only) and .pit, ap, csc, etc. type of files with no luck.
It has been 10 hours non stop troubleshooting any way I could find, also hardware wise in order to make the sim card work but just no luck.
Any help is welcome, I've read some things about loading files in it, or rooting it or whatever but that know-how is just above my lollipop :silly:
At this moment I've put the following ROM on it -> I9515XXU1BOC3_I9515OXA1BOC3_I9515XXU1BOC3_HOME.tar.md5
Now i am downloading this one from sammobile -> I9515XXU1BOJ3 and CSC I9515YHN1BOI1. The operating system of this firmware is Android 5.0.1

You're in the wrong forum, this is the forum for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active (GT-i9295). You want the forum for the regular Samsung Galaxy S4 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4). Good luck.
