How do i check the bootloader status of my phone? My phone was sold to me after changing chinese rom to Google play one by seller. So i wanted to check if the bootloader is unlocked or not.
When you turn it on, at the splash screen it will say Unlocked (red letters in my case)

Hi,
You will see an unlocked icon at boot.

Sorry, can't post link yet.
What do you need to do ?
Flash a custom rom ? Don't need unlocked bootloader for that now (unless you are in 2.3.4)
Re-lock bootloader to sell phone ? You can't.
I don't see any icon at boot. I have installed Mark Denver's ROM 2.3.5.
Well if you don't see the unlocked pad lock at the splash screen that means your bootloader is locked. And just so you know you can do almost everything with only root access you don't need an unlocked bootloader.
I restored to stock over the weekend and everything seemed good. I don't want to mess with custom ROMs anymore for the moment so I wanted to relock the bootloader.
I went into the bootloader and ran a fastboot oem lock begin then flash all of the factory image parts again. I then ran fastboot oem lock and got a "locked!" message on my device. When I rebooted into the bootloader again I saw that my device was now locked, but still showed "Software status: Modified". Is that normal after flashing a factory image? I would have expected that it would have reverted to "official" or whatever the default is.
The other part of the issue is that I'm not sure if my bootloader actually re-locked. When I reboot I still see the "Warning bootloader unlocked" message. Also, I was still able to flash the factory image again even though the status showed "locked." Are you supposed to be able to flash the factory images with a locked bootloader? And is the warning message supposed to show after a re-lock?
Locking the bootloader just means you can only flash firmware for your model and carrier, if you try to flash the firmware of a different model or carrier it won't let you because it is relocked.
And just so you are aware, your status is not "locked" it is "relocked". There is no way to have the "locked" status again.
As far as it saying modified, did you flash the firmware for your model and your carrier? Or a different one? It had to be the original firmware that came on the phone or it will say modified.

Good to know you should be able to flash stock firmware with a locked bootloader.
Well the bootloader shows "Locked" not "Relocked." I'm simply telling you what it displays. Is it normal to still have the "unlocked bootloader" warning on boot?
It's a Pure edition and I did flash the Pure firmware, but it still says Modified. That said, the phone came with 4.4.4 and I flashed the updated 5.1, could that be it?
I received warranty replacement phone from Motorola because my original one have some issues with screen and earpiece. Now I need to send my defective phone back to Motorola and I decided that it would be safer if I relock my bootloader. So I did flash stock SU4TL-44 from TheSt33v thread and did "fastboot oem lock". Bootloader status shows "LOCKED" and status code 2 but there is still this unlocked bootloader warning startup screen showed when phone powers up. Is there anything else that I could do to get rid of that screen (beside flashing fixed logo)? I know that I can't change status code and it will always show history of bootloader unlocking but I would like just to make it less obvious

I doubt that you will be able to flash much of anything now that the bootloader is re-locked. Luckily for you, I don't think Moto cares about the modification status.

I can flash logofixed.bin just fine with locked bootloader. So I guess it's all I can do and hope they really don't care about that if phone is not physically damaged. And my phone looks like brand new and actually better than refurbished replacement that I received (it has small scratch on the bezel).

Interesting. Good to know
The razrm did not require boot loader unlock for the logo as well.

Just quick update. So I returned my phone with re-locked bootloader and flashed fixed logo with no problems. I was only charged $24 for advanced exchange and they didn't care about modified status I guess.
Hello.
Normally after relocking the bootloader on these phones it will say relocked. While debranding my phone I had the phone bootloader unlocked and rooted, with the untrusted boot up message. Half way through the debranded procedure I had massive issues with encryption and it not letting me past which took an age to sort out.
Once I passed that I managed to finish debranding the phone, but after flashing the the new firmware to the phone I stopped seeing the unlocked bootloader message, when I hadnt relocked the bootloader. When I checked, the bootloader was locked and frp was unlocked.
Everything is working fine with the phone, receiving updates, all themes working, everything working great.
I just don't fully understand how it's relocked itself, but Instead of it showing relocked it shows the original locked, but frp is now unlocked while the phone is locked, both originally said locked.
Anyone have any ideas. ????
Same for me
Look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/how-to/guide-how-to-lock-unlocked-relocked-t3465486
Did you find out why frp doesn't go back to locked Instead of staying unlocked. I only ask because my NatWest app says i'm rooted or security settings have changed and won't let me log in via fingerprint. I wonder if it's because of this. ????
Edit. If you remove USB debugging and OEM unlock it relocks the frp lock.
Good thank you for sharing it
Good evening. I bought a used mi 9 and was told the bootloader was unlocked but when I go to see it says the device is locked, the phone is secured. But if I go into developer options, the unlock bootloader was already checked (that was the first thing I checked) So I'm confused if it's unlocked or not. Thx
