how to enable Hal3 camera cm14.1

hello there, can i know how to enable Hal3 camera cm14.1? and how to revert it back if i enable it..thanks
You can add the line persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1 in the build.prop file then restart the smartphone. Some camera app have a setting inside to force the usage of the new API. You can use 'manual camera compatibility test' from PlayStore to check if the API is enabled and working
ty bruh..can u give some suggestion what the best camera apss after enable that hal3
it's coming https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/153363/

Aug. -> Sept. Update (OTA) with Camera2API (HAL3) (&best gCam) safe!

Hey Folks,
after reading a lot i switched from my Galaxy S7 to the Mi A2 and im really happy with the camera - after unlocking Camera2API and switched to modded gCam I unlocked Camera2API over the temp. TWRP method and adb (in the TWRP terminal) on my August Version.
Now i was very unsure, if the official September OTA Update breaks my gCam Setup - but after the update :fingers-crossed: the modded gCam works perfect :highfive: so i dont need to redo the Camera2API unlocking :good:

Thx to "celsoazevedo.com" for the nice Site: bsgfixPortrait-GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.2.apk
All is working +SloMo +RAW :good:
Info: Use classic Smart Burst and Enable HDR+ Toggle
I hope, i could help anyone with the decision to make the OTA Update and which gCam is the best (so far) :good:
Great, i want to do that but i have the latest update ( september 1st and second update) and as far has i know the I unlocked Camera2API over the temp. TWRP method and adb (in the TWRP terminal) does not work for the ones that have the latest update.
Has it said in here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/tutorial-camera2api-gcam-root-t3842475
I don´t want to root, just want camera2api enabled.
But maybe you can flash the complete Firmware from August (unlock bootloader with critical part.) and flash the complete older (August) firmware. Then unlock the camera2api and update the OTA (Septmber) This was my emergency plan, if the OTA would destroy the unlock.

Tks, i tought that also, but for now i don´t want to mess too mutch with downgrade and command shell, just a clean unlock bootloader, enable camera2api and nothing more. I think the problem is TWRP, i will wait for an stabel/official version so i can go any further.
Can you record in 4K with google camera? For me it is not working no meter what gcam port I try.
Nope, but 4K is without stabilisation and only useable, when you own a ststiv or a gimbal. Free Hand recordings looks like **** in 4k. 1080p is with EIS and look way better, then sharp and shaky 4k
4k with EIS is just possible in "Snap Camera"

Opencamera should work too right?

When camera2api is enabled, opencamera loses option for 4K. 1080p EIS works, but with zooming image.
OpenCamera dint work with Camera2Api enabled.
cstark27_GCam_5.1.018_24_v4.2t3_fu24-02.apk (fu24, 2018-10-01, normal/wide angle, changelog)
Im using this version for now. Front camera working. I think all functions works, except slow motion, but i don't care about...
Unfortunately front camera doesn't work with Arnova's apks. I hope this feature is fix soon for our device

This doesn't support 18:9 screen, is there any gcam for 18:9?

camera2api with stock app alongside gcam

There is any downside in doing that? Can I supply che missing feature of gcam with the stock camera app?
I had enable the camera2api with magisk not all function of gcam work as always but seems I can use the stock app just fine so:
What's the trouble about using gcam at all I I can use also the stock app?
How I can remove the camera2 API?(I think unistall the magisk module is sufficient to return to stock right?)

Considering it as Just some advanced settings here and there.
Just remove the module and you are good

Camera magisk module?

I am on LineageOS 17.1 right now.
However LOS17.1 does not take pictures at full resolution.
However I've heard I can flash some Magisk modules to get a better cam with 48MP resolution.
Can someone link me the correct modules to flash so I have a better camera experience?

As I mentioned in your other post, you want v158 and the 48MP fix for Q
The files are flashed in Magisk.
If you have an ad blocker you will need to temporarily disable it to view and download the files. The site checks for ad blockers and hides the download section if one is active.

Is it possible to run google camera without google framework?

I am on a custom rom without gapp, but google camera can not be open. Is there any way to run it without google framework?
Maybe a stupid question: have you enabled Camera2 API?

i have used gcam without gapps but to be safe there are options like " fake store" to spoof Playstore and framework to applications
not all gcam mods work on all devices ...so try different ones .. furthermore on mi x6 there are old , new and MIUI camera libs ..some work for some while others work for others ..so try the different libs
