Twice now I've turned on my speakerphone and the people say I sound like I'm really far away or I'm under water. I can hear them just fine, and when I turn speaker phone off and put it up to my ear they say they can hear me perfectly fine so I know the mic isn't the problem....
Now my dad said I sounded fine but I feel like he's just saying that... The case I have is pretty thick but it doesn't make sense.. I recorded a video, held the phone far away, and made very quiet sounds and the video still picked up on it.

anyway dont know if its normal but my wing didnt do this before, when i set my phone to vibrate sometimes the vibration makes this chirping sound...it's really annoying specially when i have it silent (just vibration)
anyone know what im talkin about?
(note is not a sound coming from the speakers it comes within the phone like the vibrating sound)
How about recording the sound with a microphone.. Then upload it here and we can hear the problem.
Just a thought
Yea I get it to !!!!! I thought it was just the part that vibrates..... vibrating on a piece of plastic inside. Hvnt took it apart to find out though.
Yes. I get it too. But since my phone is in the holster most of the time, that noise is dampened. I have started to ignore it

That's not the noise he's referring to, the noise he is talking about only occurs when the buttons are hit. It's more of a software noise, something programmed into the ROM.
I've had my AT&T banded N1 (with Rogers in Canada) for nearly 2 weeks now and I've been waiting to make sure everything works properly before I potentially give up my warranty by unlocking it. One thing that has been bugging me though is the call quality.
Everyone raves about how clear the call quality is on these things, but based on my phone I don't really agree. When no one is talking the line is dead silent (so silent that I almost think that the call has dropped), but when the other person begins to talk a light static or crackling background noise starts and once they finish talking it goes away and is completely silent again. If the static was there all the time I might not even notice it, but since it stops and starts during pauses in the conversation it really stands out. This happens on both the handset ear piece and with the headphones that came with the phone.
Has anyone else noticed this? If it's normal so be it, but if not then I might as well try and get it fixed before I do anything.
I don't have the at&t version but that does not sound normal.
Crackling is normally a sign of a speaker problem but I wouldn't think the headphones would also produce it.
seems i have the same issue...
i havent noticed any noise like this, but i will go test it and see if i have it too.
It's the speaker, for some reason the Nexus One comes with a slightly-too-loud speaker volume setting built in and you need to turn the incall volume down one notch from max. At least that solved my problem, hope this works for you!
have just called Google Tech Support and the guy suggested me to blow into the earphone couple of times and see if it helps
if not, do a hard reset
if not, call for warranty...
Since I get this noise in both the handset and ear phone speakers at all volumes I have to assume the problem is with my radio.
It's too much of a pain to get warranty work done outside of the US so I'm just going to learn to ignore it.
Is anyone else getting a very slight "processing-type" sound when on phone calls? It's hardly enough to notice and I only hear it when the other person and I are completely silent, but it's there. I was just wondering if it's only my phone or all of them. It's not really loud enough to complain about, just asking out of curiosity.
What does a processing-type sound, sound like?
Like your computer when it is processing something, or maybe when the hard drive is being read, though not as loud as either of those obviously since it's so small. It's hard to explain, but if you listen closely when no one is talking but a phone call is in progress, you should hear it.
Hard drives make clicking sounds.
The disks also make a slight "whirring" noise which is more of what I was referring to.
EDIT: I listened to it again and this doesn't really accurately describe it. It's very hard for me to explain and as I said it's so quiet that it's really a non-issue, just a curiosity I guess. If anyone else happens to notice it at some point, let me know, if not then no worries.
Ahhh. See now we are getting somewhere. I know what you're referring to. That's interference you're hearing most likely. Remember back when if you put your old GSM phone near some speakers you'd occasionally hear weird sounds kinda like a chirping and buzzing etc? You still get that nowadays but its not as profound. Its just a small whining sound. As long as you have a speaker and you have something emitting radiowaves near it, you will have speaker feedback
Oh I know that sound. If I put my phone near my speaker after sending a text or anything it does that. I would say it could possibly be a very quiet version of this, but to me it sounds like the sound is coming from the phone itself and not the speaker, but only when on a phone call. I'm not sure about that though and you may be right about it just being some sort of interference - could be that it's just fooling my ears into thinking it's not coming from the speaker since it doesn't fit in at all with the rest of the call.
I mean nothing else on the phone actually makes noise, aside from the small click that the power and volume keys make. You don't hear electricity or data moving through memory or the cpu etc...
Hi there.
These day i noticed something strange about the phone when i'm making phonecalls.
The sound of the call speaker was a little low and i fell it vibrating on the back of the phone...
I put my ear on the back and i could hear the person clearly. It seems that the sound comes out not only in the right side.
When i press my finger on the back of the phone, the volume of the call seems to increase.
Nothing to bother really, but i wanna know if its normal...
thnaks!
Its absolutely normal ur feeling it bcos phone is made jam tight due to its..dust and water resistance...... So no worries enjoy d machine... Cheers
Thanks man. i tought it could be a problem in the isolation...
Since I bought the z3c speaker was very low, but after one year and a half it became more and more lower, now still it's working playing music or youtube, alarm .... but when I call stops to work and I can not lisenting nothing persons can ear to me., sometimes they tell me that they lisent to me with a buggy sound
Other thing I feel was that headphones seems sound lower now as well.
Using *#*#7378423#*#* I look for test service and speakers and speaker right works with a low sound but works, but when I try left speaker does not work.
Has z3c left and right speaker? why on hell works on youtube but calling stops to work, maybe is the speaker?
I have tried differents roms, open bootloader and change kernel but still happens.
I'm thinking about to buy speaker and change it, Do you think is speaker problem? I saw loud speaker and ear speaker what is diference? maybe I should change both and mic phone ass well and is anyone speaker louder thand others?
Thank you
Anyone knows a good speakers for z3c or seller is phone parts? I saw on eBay and alien a lot of cheaper speakers, about 2€, I don't trust their speakers are original like they claim.
Any help please, anyone change the speakers?
