Moto G5s Plus (XT1805) and Vodafone UK LTE/4G - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Quick question regarding compatibility before i commit to a new service provider, has anyone successfully got an LTE/4G signal with their Moto G5s Plus (XT1805) on Vodafone UK LTE/4G?
I'm sure the phone is compatible, but just double checking.

which band is Vodafone?
=======
after comparing the spec from GSMArena with Vodafone band, my rough estimate is it will works as G5S Plus supports wide range of band. It depends on the model tho

The phone will work with WIFI. You need a GSM phone, not a CDMA phone, if you want cellular reception.

(I didn't realize the O.P. was asking about a US Cellurar Moto X, which apparently may have a crippled GSM radio.

Thanks for your response. I will stay back from buying as there is no point having a device with broken wifi. .

While this wiki page -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moto_X indicates the XT1055 does support 850/900/1900/2100 UMTS/HSPA, the FCC docs don't list any UMTS/HSPA/WCDMA tests, only CDMA, LTE, and Wifi. And US Cellular's web site doesn't list UMTS/HSPA as supported either. So I'm not sure. Reading THIS FCC doc for the XT1055 indicates only CDMA 800/1900, LTE Bands 4, 5 and 12 only. No mention of UMTS/HSPA/WCDMA.
UMTS and HSPA will be needed if you want faster than 2G speeds on GSM networks.
one other thing I'm unsure of, if the US Cellular X (XT1055) is SIM unlocked for GSM.

Thanks. It is very strange that Moto X comes in different model by network and confusing which one to choose from for the GSM networks like in the UK.
Motorola Moto X XT1058 for AT&T
Motorola Moto X XT1053 for T-Mobile
Motorola Moto X XT1052 for Europe
Motorola Moto X XT1056 for Sprint
Motorola Moto X XT1060 for Verizon
Motorola Moto X XT1055 for U.S. Cellular

This is because of the different frequencies in use by location, and by carrier as well in the case of the USA...
I would be been nice if Moto could have made one GSM version that supported all GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA/LTE frequencies around the globe, and then the CDMA variants (like Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular) as needed.
From that list, most would probably say... XT1052 or XT1053 for use in Europe, but keep in mind the XT1053 would be missing some LTE bands and/or UMTS/HSPA bands that are likely used in Europe.
XT1058 could also work, but you can't unlock its boot loader, and you'd have to watch out for one or two bands not being there.

Buy moto X 2014

Hi friends.
I have got into the Motorola Page for buying the New Moto X in free version with no contract, Pure Edition, but I am not sure if it is a model which will work well in South America, I mean, I want it for using it in PerĂº. I am not sure, that is why am asking you. Because it says works with At&T, verizon and 4G and global .......
Give me some help please!.
Thnx!
Yes it will work. I am not sure what LTE support there is in Peru, and what bands are used, but it will be fine with GSM/3G support. If you are concerned about the 4G, you will have to research what LTE bands are supported on your carrier.
What LTE bands does the no contract Pure Edition support, they are not listed in the specs?
Tapatalked from my G PAD 8.3
Here are the full specifications for the new Moto X ...

[Q] AT&T moto X XT1058 LTE bands

Hi guys,

Pls help me out so i know if the investment is worth or not.

Best regards!
Sorry, but the Moto X supports the bands the models advertise, no more.
There's no way to "unlock" other bands.

Honor 4x with AT&T connection : Not working in USA

Hi,
I am using honor 4x in India, now I am trying it with AT&T connection in USA.
Phone is not connecting to the AT&T service.
Any specific reason?
Is it locked or it does not support the AT&T range bands?
Thanks.
Probably it doesn't support At&t bands (in the area where you are)
a lot of Huawei phones arent supported on USA bands if im not wrong, an exception is the nexus 6p
may be bands are not supported

Question Version SM-G998U snapdragon from USA will be work in Europe?

As in the subject.
Thanks in advice
It will work fine as long as the following is true.
1) The device is sim unlocked
2) The QUALLCOMM chipset supports the network bands your carrier supports.
If your on Verizon in the us and traveling to Europe as long as you have the proper international service package on your phone you should not have issues for 2g and 3g, LTE should mostly works fine 5g may.
Thanks for answer. Good news
I live in EU and consider buy version from amazon us with snap:
