hi,
Has anyone tried using GravityBox [N] with VIE-L29 EMUI 5.0.1?
I want to install this module but i fear that it might cause bootloops.
Do you have a TWRP backup? Ensure you download the Xposed Uninstaller ZIP from the repo (very useful in case of bootloop) Most features don't work (EMUI is completely different from AOSP) and therefore most features are incompatible. Also it may have a dialog upon rebooting "GravityBox system framework not responding", it means an enabled setting is incompatible. Hope it helps

Yes I did a recent TWRP backup and also have a download of the compatible Xposed Uninstaller by rovo89. But as you mentioned that EMUI is different from AOSP it might misbehave with Gravitybox. So I guess i'll sit this one out in the meantime. I do have the following modules up and running flawlessly:
Bootmanager
Greenify
MinMinGuard
PMP - which is a bit intrusive
and of course YouTubeAdAway
Thanks for your reply!

With the new installers modules can't be enabled/disabled when the framework is not active.
This is a problem if one has to run the Xposed uninstaller to get out of a bootloop and wants to disable single modules afterwards

If you have disabled the framework, restart your device and uninstall the modul which makes problems
Imagine, you have installed a whole bunch of modules and you need to find out which one is causing the trouble ...
The installer just shouldn't disable the enable/disable checkboxes in the modules list on purpose in case of a framework not installed state and everything is fine. At least it was implemented like this pre 3.0

There is a flashable file to disable all modules from recovery

Hi mattzeller! Thanks for your contribution to that topic. But please read the original post once again. Then you will see, that you are missing the point with your post. Not a big deal - let's just try to keep the good quality of XDA alive

I fully understand your original post. If you are in a boot loop because of a specific module, disabling all of them will ensure you get out of a bootloop without removing Xposed completely so you can figure out which one it is via logcat. If it is Xposed itself causing the bootloop, it doesn't matter what modules are installed or activated.

I wish to get Snapchat on my Amazon Fire.
I have made the following modifications to the stock:
- Installed CyanogenMod
- Installed Xposed
How do I uninstall Xposed or hide it from snapchat? I know how to hide root.

Xposed consists of two components plus whatever modules you installed:
- Xposed manager can be uninstalled like any other app
- Xposed framework is uninstalled via this tool
I don't understand the Snapchat connection.

Thank you.
Snapchat will not allow you to log in or create an account if it detects either root or Xposed.

Gotcha. It's only Xposed Framework according to latest reports. Fair number of workarounds but all involve some level of effort on your part. I understand the developers motivations but blocking root/Xposed/etc does little to address the underlying issue. Akin to expecting security with a cheap luggage lock.

You could try rootcloak2 with Automate and get the xposed toggler from the Automate community addon. If you need help I'll be around.

You have to use the uninstaller for the version/make of Xposed you have installed.

Did you try just the ARM zip? Use the top one dated for 2015. That should work with any OFFICIAL Xposed version. Just flash it using FlashFire. If you have one of the other unofficial Xposed makes, you'll have to search for the uninstaller via their appropriate websites.
1) Open FlashFire
2) Tap the + and add the uninstall zip
3) Tap + again and select wipe. Make sure ONLY cache and dalvik are selected then tap the check mark at top right
4) Make sure wipe is placed AFTER the zip
5) Tap flash

You may (likely will) need to perform a full wipe and reinstall the ROM of your choosing.
a module ?
Xposed rootless for example, at each Snapchat logon i have to deactivate/activate it, and each deactivation it's a full dalvik remake (1h).
And the switch toggle of Xposed doesn't work for SafetyNET or SnapChat, so the module have to be deactivated
It's impossible and too long !
So i don't use XPosed and don't make Update of module !

Easy, everything has to be optimized for Xposed. But... I don't have long boot time on my device. Activate and deactivate Xposed in magisk is very quick for me. Normal boot time for both. Moto e4 on nougat 7.1.1. so it may be something specific to your device or Android version. Your device may just be very slow optimizing. Do you have a ton of apps installed? Because that makes optimization even longer. It is a very resource intensive operation.
No other modules should have that besides Xposed. Like I said, Xposed MUST optimize EVERYTHING.

I don't know why the switch inside Xposed dont work for you. It worked for me when I used Marshmallow.
But what happens about the dalvik is that Xposed is a very complex and extended modification that can hook (and therefore alter) pretty much every app on your device. So when you "remove" or "install" it by enabling or disabling the module on magisk a dalvik wipe is triggered by the system the next time you boot.
The process is similar to when you systemize an app or updates your device, but instead of one or few apps to recompile, the system has to recompile (aka "optimize") most, if not all the apps on your system.
On Marshmallow specially, the Android uses an Ahead Of Time (AOT) compiler, meaning that all this compilation will occur on next boot, before the rest of the system can be used. To fix this problem, Google started using Just In Time (JIT) compiler from Nougat on, meaning that the optimization will occur when and if necessary, and if possible when the device is idle or not being intensely used. That's why in Nougat or Oreo this problem does not happen.
So here's what happened:
I installed a new rom: Google wiz 44. A touchwiz based Android 8.0 rom. It has magisk pre-installed. In magisk, I get the systemless xposed SDK26 module. It installs fine but after reboot there is no Xposed installer APK. To fix this I also install the normal Xposed module from magisk repo. This gets me the Xposed installer APK and after a reboot it detects Xposed is installed. The problem now is I cannot uninstall Xposed framework even with the uninstaller zip. I have tried removing the sdk26 Xposed from magisk but it doesn't uninstall Xposed. Can't pass saftynet.
If you'd have read the documentation for the Xposed module, or the OP of the Systemless Xposed support thread, you'd have seen that you need to install the modified installer for that module manually.
Now, the question is what you mean by the "normal Xposed module from magisk repo". Do you mean the Unity version? Because that's also a systemless Xposed version, just by a different creator...
So now you have two systemless Xposed modules installed? That sounds like it could cause problems...
You can't use the Xposed uninstaller zip for a Magisk systemless Xposed module. It won't recognise it. Since it sounds like you've installed everything through Magisk, you can uninstall through Magisk. When you say you've tried and it doesn't work, what do you mean? Have you gone to the modules section of the Magisk Manager and pressed the trash bin icon next to the module you want to remove and then rebooted? More details, please...
And lastly, you can never pass SafetyNet with Xposed installed and active.
@benvrakas, maybe try the UNITY installer. It acts as an installer, uninstaller, and upgrader.
Flash it and pay attention to the output. It'll tell you what it's doing.
If it installs on first flash, flash it again for an uninstall. Hopefully it'll remove things successfully. Just another option.

Hi, I have a huawei p8 lite 2017 with magisk installed on it. I installed the systemless xposed module and then opened xposed installer. It says it's installed and working, but I don't have any logs, and modules are not working.
Use official Xposed by @rovo89. It's working even if you have systemless root. Cheers.

I have to uninstall the module from magisk and install normal xposed via recovery, right ?
Edit: installed it via xposed installer. Same problem, it says it's active but my logs are empty and modules don't work.

Silly question but have to ask. Modules are activated and you rebooted? [emoji16]
Anyhind, never used systemless Xposed but I do know there's a specific Magisk(?) version of the installer app that might be more suitable. Check the systemless Xposed thread. The apk download is in the OP.

Yes!
