[Q] What is Going on. Reverted to stock question!?!

Ok guys, so i have reverted back to stock. Everything seems to be fine and dandy.
States **Tampered** **Relocked** in bootloader. Stock rom is installed from a CWM Nandroid Backup.
However... i seem to have a problem. When i try to factory reset the phone, all it does is boot into bootloader.
When i try to do a software update on the phone... excactly the same thing happens. Just boots into bootloader.
Why is the happening? Please Please Please help me. . .
Ive searched and searched, used google also, and cant find any answers. . .
CID: Orang001.
Please help.

BTW... ive been using the all in one toolkit for the One.

No i dont believe so because i have flashed a Stock recovery. . .
When i goto bootloader and try to enter recovery manually it just sits on the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen with 'Entering Revoery...' in pink up the top... and does nothing.

I think to get into stock recovery from that point, you have to press power and vol up.

nope still not working.
this is doing my head in now. . . Why wont it work? Is there a special recovery for Orang001 CID?
Its getting sold tomorrow becuase im getting a Black one... but im a honest bloke and couldnt sell it like this...

Right... started again... Stock rom... But unlocked bootloader and CWM installed.
What can i check.. how can i make sure i have the right recovery?

Run a RUU for your carrier if one exists.

No there isnt one... thats why i used a Nandroid Backup.

I don't believe the recovery varies across carrier. You should be able to flash the version that goes with your hboot version from one of the firmware threads.
You also need to run fastboot erase cache when changing recoveries if you haven't been.

it is HTC One model PN07100 801n unlocked boot only for root....
devices works well but only stops in this update i had 1st update around 1.45MB works very well after 1st update..

ok, so relock the bootloader for the OTA update and unlock it again after OTA.. it should work then

are you still rooted? i thought that root disables OTA, so you'd have to temporary unroot first too.. also do you use stock recovery? (just to be sure)
for OTA you need to be:
- On stock rom
- On stock recovery
- On original CID (or supercid)

so you're on stock rom, unrooted, supercid, relocked bootloader and on stock recovery as i could see.. and the first update worked fine.

no problem mate, i'd really like to help you
but right now i have no more idea, because i think everything is prepared the way it should be but still there's this error... the last thing you could try is to put the CID back to the original one (the one you had before supercid) and try again..
but it's confusing me because the first update worked and the second now is stuck...

there is NO 4.2.2 RUU you have to flash a 4.1.2 RUU and then update to 4.2.2
i recommend to flash (ARHD 12.2) its the latest update and has tons of features,

Solutions:
Change everything to original CID, MID, boot and recovery..... no need to relock or anything else...you're S-OFF.
Do a wipe cache and davlink, reboot, and try to update
If it doesn't work..
Flash your RUU again (the one that match to your software and carrier), and ota update everything again... don't waste time trying anything else.. I would choose this one, so you garantee that nothing interfere and you have a stock phone.

[Q] Please Help!!! HTC ONE RUU.exe failed, cannot ADB or FASTBOOT. Nothing works

I hope you can help me. Sorry if this has been covered somewhere, I tried looking for an answer but nothing has worked so far.
I can get into recovery or hboot but thats all. Phone is not recognised by WIN 8.1. Tried installing drivers and HTC SYNC, still no luck. It's driving me crazy. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, thanks for quick reply.
I am s-off and unlocked.
I was trying to reinstall because my camera was constantly out of focus. and i read that it maybe a bug since 4.2. So the install failed and then i formated system and whatever I tried since, nothing has worked. Tried all kind of drivers etc. still nothing

hlo sir,I m really depressed these days bcz I can't find ruu for my htc one as it shows TAMPERED RELOCKED SECURITY WARNING.. my cid is VODAP021 and mied is PN071400 hboot is 1.54 and os is 2.24.980.3... I tried to flash a guru reset with same cid no. but with slight difference in os it was 2.24.980.2 and it showed signature verify fail......so plzzzz helpppp meee....suggest me the perfect ruu

Unlock your bootloader and try the Guru reset again..

Have you still got the identifier token given to you when you first unlocked the phone,
Also check that its not a typographical error on your part.

at first I unlocked using kingo unlock bootloader...so I m not having any bin fioe of token..........and I don't have android sdk does it matter in any way...

You really need fastboot and adb.
Download the minimal files from here

no problem, i was just pointing out that we can't follow your progress if there are multiple posts around.
So now you are able to go to CWM recovery? then just flash the Guru Reset ROM mentioned earlier (can't remember if it was in this thread or the other), and select stock recovery in the installer so you can receive OTAs.

EDIT: @jaspreet4140 : I recommend you open your own thread, and start posting the information necessary, such as fastboot getvar all (excluding IMEI and s/n), and everything else that is of relevance, including what you want to achieve.

you're not understanding my point, you're randomly posting onto different threads which may or may not have the same problem (i'm leaning towards not the same problem)
and i'm not the only one you should be "talking to", both @alray and @bored_stupid have already been helping you, but you can't expect everybody to always be online. we all are in different timezones, and may have other things to do to; for example i have to sign off for a while...
So my recommendation is: open a new thread in Q&A with all the necessary information, and we'll try to help.
xda is a community, it's not about one person, it's about the group... and there are many friendly people here trying to help each other out :good:

it will be gone once you flash the Guru Reset ROM (Guru Reset ROM includes stock recovery)... you cannot "delete" a recovery, only replace it.

[Q] Ending call at 00:00.

Hi,
I am unable to make/receive calls and can't send/receive SMS text messages.
WiFi and data over 3G works fine, so email/browsing is OK.
I have tried SIM cards from other working phones but it's the same problem on this phone.
Used to work fine couple of days ago but now when I try to make a call to someone it says straight away call ended.
Has anyone encountered the same problem? Can anybody help please?

My phone is HTC One (M7)
Used to be rooted, in my attempt to resolve the problem I have unrooted it and now has stock android, which i flashed on.
The only thing that is different is that my phone is s-off.
I have done a factory reset but this did not fix it.
For some reason, when i try to update my phone over ota, I get a red triangle with a !.
My phone version is 3.62.401.1.
It is Android 4.3. Not 4.4 kitkat.
I can use wifi, and have 3G/H signal.
That's about it. If anybody can help me with this problem, please do! Thanks in advance.

you say you flashed something back to stock ? do you still have custom recovery? that would stop any updates

No i no longer have custom recovery.
Yes i flashed so i could get rid of custom recovery and go back to my stock android.
airplane mode and data don't help.

Ah my mistake, I didn't flash using an ruu, but i will try this. Will i need a custom recovery to use it? Can i use it for WWE?

Did you flash anything that could have caused this problem? I assume you have flashed a RUU that contained firmware?
If I were you, I'd try to get the original firmware back onto the phone, then install a "known good" ROM so you know the system isn't screwed up somehow.

well i originally flashed an recovery.img containing the original version of the version I had. I then tried an RUU. Still didn't work though. What do you mean by 'known good' ROM?

I mean a popular third party ROM that most people can use without problems. ARHD, for example. But now that I think about it, if you successfully installed a RUU and did a factory reset, I agree with the other person that said it sounds like a hardware defect. I've had this problem on another phone and it was the firmware and RIL (a problem that only exists for Samsung), but if you flashed a RUU it should have sorted that out.
If you can get warranty service for this phone, try it. This is one of those cases where you should revert the phone to stock, though, because the most obvious answer to why a rooted phone doesn't have calls is "you screwed up the software/firmware".

hi guys, hoping for a bit of help here, HTC seem next to impossible for me master, hover i never have any issues with sony bootloaders and fastboot etc.
but iv basically been running CM10 right up to CM12 on my htc one M7, however its time for me to sell it now so i need to mke it completly stock, iv tried using the reset guru roms, buy get caught up in bootloader after the ota's ( locked and unlocked bootloader ) hopefully if iv done it correctly iv attatched my handsets infomation, so if anyone could help me with correct RUU link or anything that would help me id be most grtefull.....

Your phone is s-on, their is no RUU that will work with your phone
use this GURU Reset and choose yes to stock recovery and radio and no to root during install

it's also a good idea to factory reset before flashing the Guru Reset
Also you need TWRP 2.6.3.3 to flash the Reset correctly

hi again, it this the latest reset guru please, as like i said previously, all my ota's result in a bootloop, and i relock bootloader after installing also am i correct in sideloading or copy direct to htc rrot directory?

Reset does not update the firmware, you have hboot 1.57 your firmware is at least 5.x.401.x

It all depends on when you updated the phone before flashing custom recovery
if your on 5.11.401.10 your phone should update normally ...this software matches your CID
However if your on 6.09.401.5 and it tries to update it will most likely fail
I'm not sure how many .401 updates their are after 5.x

its now taking me to 4.4.3 with yet another 500mb ota update, would you know if there is a final reset with no known ota's? thank

awesome you have been a great help with my HTC dilema, its now updated to 6.09.401.5 should i now relock my BL?
i useually relock with my sony's but now i remember why htc's hve never been my friend hahaha, i personally use the Z3, xperia j and nokia 925.
