When I record 1080p 60fps I get stuttering video when I move the camera to left or right. I record them on a SD card. Is it because of slow sd card or is it the phone making the problem.
Never had that issue when I had iPhone 6.

I get the same issue even at UHD. Think it's a software problem or atleast I'm hoping it is. Tried a different number of apps. I use UltraCorder at the moment which I believe is the only app that records in h265. This saves 35%+ storage often times up to 50%.

Remember uhd is only 30fps. In 60fps is normally smooth. But not on Huawei p10. Hope it will fixed.

The Oreo update helped a little. It's still buffering but it's acceptable. Still not so smooth like iPhone.

Hi, anyone experiencing video playback occasional stuttering? I did a factory reset and its still the same :/
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk 2
Nobody having the same problem guys? It's definitely not because of my Internet connection since its really fast.
What I'm afraid of is that there's a problem with the processor or graphics chip. I've tried playing HD videos from my micro sd card and all is smooth.
Any inputs? I only have 7 days to bring this back to the shop to swap for another set and it's day 3 already :/

I think if you play HD videos from your card and this is working good that there.is no problem with your processor.or.grapics.
Have you played a heavy game?

Don't know if this helps you at all, probably not, but I've been having alot of stuttering on youtube on my pc for the last couple of days.
Can't watch any video unless it's fully loaded, which is slow atm, and even then it stutters a bit. Might be a problem on their side.
Hello
I have exactly samme problem.
I am getting used to it even though it is annoying.
Best regards

Seems I have to keep selecting "smooth video" every time. Assuming there is no loss In quality, I'd like to stay on 60fps every time , not switch to It every time.
Suggestions?
What are you doing that from? The video app?

What are you liking about the 60fps setting that makes you want it as default?

Maybe this is just my imagination, but 1080p video recording on 4.4.1 seems to be smoother than 4.4 by an order of magnitude. It's darker than before, but If I'm not mistaken, it appears to be recording at 60 fps (which is a feature of the Snapdragon 800). Really cool and interesting.

I haven't looked at the EXIF data so I could be wrong, but give it a shot - it's waaaay smoother than before the update. This phone has a SOC that supports 1080px60 recording, so it's not outside of the realm of possibility.
My video recording seems broke now,. Pressing the red button doesnt do anything within the camera app any ideas? Cleared cache dalvik and camera app data. Photos are working fine however

Video recording remains [email protected] It's been improved so it doesn't drop frames as it did before the update.

Is there a way we can verify the framerate on-device? It looks smoother than 30fps to me.

Make sure you're on a stock 4.4.1 kernel. I was on Franco r17 and had this happen also.

Yep, MX player is unsupported on 4.4.1 at the moment. Found "BPSplayer free" and when tapping on info button shows that my video recordings are averaging around 30fps with 4.4.1. It looks much smoother to the eye and preforms extremely well for a smartphone. But no 60fps based on these results.

Well, correct you are. Disappointing, but still a huge improvement.
I really dont understand why Google chooses not to leverage the hardware they put in their devices. Our phone is capable of doing both 1080p60 and 4k30, but it supports neither.

Considering how well this update looks and performs on the N5 camera/video, I can see why one would think it was 60fps. I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm impressed.

I'd imagine it has to do with proprietary binaries from Qualcomm. Android likes everything to be open source, with access for all of us to modify/tinker, but putting all their special "tricks" which may not exist on other platforms (exynos, mediatek, etc) into open source code would potentially allow competitors to reverse engineer their methods. If you're familiar with Nvidia graphics cards on Linux it's the same thing. You can use TRUE open-source graphics drivers that are essentially terrible (no gpu video acceleration for video playback) but have source code available for, or you can use the proprietary NVIDIA drivers that arrive as binaries, no source code, but everything works perfectly on with great performance. They do this so ATI can't reverse engineer their drivers, essentially. There's also the possibility that Qualcomm charges based on which features they enable (they did this WAY back in the day on the HTC Mogul, not including hardware graphics acceleration drivers because HTC didn't want to pay extra).
I also noticed that right away much smoother video! +1 here

I don't know how baseband can improve the quality recording, are you sure about that? I know the baseband is the Radio Package for Z1 like Bluetooth, Network and WiFi.
Give it a try if there was no problem in older version then may be its the same issue with the baseband

Hi guys does anyone else have this issue?
I notice on my note 8 in the gallery app when u click a photo the animation is poor and has a stutter to open and close a photo. Scrolling within the app and switching between photos once opened is fine but if your just opening and closing photos it seems bad and stuttery.
I am not using a sd card.

Go into developer options, and go to the 3 Animation Scale settings. I dialed mine back to 0.5 and it increased the speed of animations

I have the same issue. I noticed that after a phone reboot it works fine until the phone not rebooted for 140 hours or so then the issue appear again. This doesn't happen on my Tab S3 which been on for weeks now.
A simple fix would be a quick reboot every 4 days or so.
What gallery app everybody use? Quickpic seems the best so far.
