Hi
The N950F/DS as much as I can make out is very similar to SM-N950F/FD/N except for dual sim.
Can you install SM-N950F/FD/N listed roms like say Ironman?
Just pre-planning as will want rom support.
Thanks

As far as I know the N950F/DS is also known as N950FD. This is the same model, just written differently. Now this model is just like the N950F, except it has dual SIM. When I bought the N950FD, I checked the settings menu and it actually says N950F (but again, it has a tray for 2 SIMs, or 1 SIM + 1 SD card). To my knowledge, software for these at least should all be interchangeable. In other words, there is no N950FD or F/DS firmware, just F firmware. The N950N is indeed a different model, so I'll let someone else speak to that one

Ok, two more questions...
Did you use 'csc' or 'home_csc' in Odin?
And have you tried to factory reset since flashing stock again?

I am not 100% sure. I suggest asking in the thread of the rom.
Personally, if you have the DS version I would only flash that rom if it has DS in the title, which I don't think Ironman Rom has. (ALEXNDR Rom for example has)
A guy above it seems had the DS version, flashed a rom, I suspect to be one with does not state DS, which has now made it single sim, which I can't help him with..
Yet again, I could be wrong.
@sefrcoko i use only CSC.
in odin i check nand erase

Ok, so you used CSC along with the BL, CP, and AP files, right? That should have wiped your phone and put everything back to stock, but if still not working maybe try a factory reset at this point (backup first of course ).

Unfortunately here in australia the telcos have blocked dual sim capabilities for this phone as well as blocking us from purchasing unlocked dual SIM devices from samsung themselves under a contract. i however heard from 3 seperate samsung reps that it is a CSC issue which can be resolved by rooting and removing the given telco CSC (in this case optus) and replacing it with an unlocked version. is this correct or does there need to be 2 device IMEI on the phone for dual sim to work??
I've downloaded the XSA firmware for us Aussies and will be uploading it to MEGA soon. But can any one tell me wether it's simply a CSC ISSUE or will I just have to live with single SIM??

I don't think changing your CSC to XSA requires a root. But yet to to find a working solution myself. I tried flashing the XSA stock firmware, but it doesn't change the CSC from OPS to XSA. I'll try flashing another country firmware and move it back to XSA and see if this changes the CSC to XSA.
Apparently you need to put a different SIM in for 5 mins to make it unbranded I'll be trying DR.Ketans rom and see what the difference is than maybe I can get it to work. We still need a dual SIM tray also

Ah cool. I'll try that later tonight if i have time. True that we will need the hybrid sim tray. I wonder if we can get a hybrid sim tray from Samsung to keep the waterproofing intact. Bit worried with the quality of the aftermarket products in relation to the waterproofing of the phone.
I found this thread about changing CSC for Note 8.
https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/for...eo-firmware-downloaded-directly-t3765512/amp/
But everytime I flashed the combination file, ODIN stucked at odm.img.
Let me know how you go.

Hi
You MUST download the combination rom for NOTE 9. DON'T USE THE combination ROM for NOTE8.
You can find the combination rom for SM-N960F via below link.

Hi there,
I actually downloaded the combination rom for note 9 from gem-flash.com. For some reason when I flashed the AP and Home_csc, it always stuck at odm. Tried this several times.
Not sure where I went wrong.
I'll try flashing to another country ROM and then follow the steps on your original thread and flash using the combination rom for Note 9. All i want is to change the CSC from Optus to XSA.

tried to flash AP only and it worked. however, on the factory IMEI, *#243203855# doesn't give me the list of the csc. When I tried to flash the AP and home_csc or csc it always stuck in odm.img. Not sure what's happening.
Did you guys get this working at all? I'm in the same boat with a telco note 9, either going to return it and buy one outright or try get it working. i ordered an additional tray with the hybrid sim slot.
where have you found the various stock australian roms?

Sammobile.com...
Has all the latest Stock ROMs for all regions...
Thankfully I bought from Samsung (pre-order)... Came with Hybrid Sim card holder and 2 IMEI's though I have yet to try...
Cool. I'll give it a go now that I have it and if the new sim tray and flashed stock rpm doesn't work Telstra can stick it and I'll get from Samsung too...
What i've done so far:
Got a hybrid sim tray. Doesn't reject the second sim.
Flashed with odin and the stock XSA rom. Didn't work.
Flashed with Dr Ketan using TWRP. Doesn't work.
Tried to enable the sim manager setting using package disabler. Enables it but no way to access the settings.
Used a shortcut app to try to access the sim manager setting but crashed out.
About to try a different rom...
It seems to be software related only.
If there was a way to access the sim manager setting/software...
Where did you get the hybrid sim tray?
I'd assume the lack of an imei for the second sim would be the issue

Looks the firmware is same for OPS/TEL/VAU and public version.
I believe the logic should be same as Note 8, it's controlled by EFS not only CSC number, you also cannot change the HOME CSC.
So you have to decrypt the EFS, write the second IMEI, then you will have the dual SIM function.

You still cannot connect to network even you can open the sim manager app.
You don't have the second IMEI which is required for network.
The rom is same for Australia and New Zeland, you won't able to change your CSC if you just flash the rom in ODIN.
You have to use combination rom to change your CSC, but I don't think you can change your HOME CSC, you only can your normal CSC.
Dual sim function is not controlled by CSC if the logic is same as NOTE8.
OK, been a little while coming but I FINALLY got around to testing my Samsung bought XSA Note 9 for dual sim cards.
Both sim cards work fine, Just means my sd card is now floating around out of the phone and my backup phone has no sim...
Made and received calls off both sim cards.
So, the dual sim Note 9 bought directly from Samsung Australia with the XSA firmware CAN use both sim cards. It does have 2 different IMEI numbers and both work...
Glad I got the Samsung phone over the Telco distributed phone as it seems they have actually crippled one of the primary features of this awesome device...
Cheers...

hey mate i got a genuine one off ebay from the UK
Hi. I am a complete noob when it comes to rooting Android.
**************************UPDATE************************************************
THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED. PLEASE SCROLL TO POST #89 ON PAGE 9 TO SEE THE SOLUTION.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77950935&postcount=89
***************************************************************************************************
I bought an *unlocked* Samsung Note 9 N960F/DS (Exynos 9810) international phone from a seller on ebay brand new and sealed. Received the phone yesterday (10/19/2018) and popped my working existing sim card from my iphone 6 with T-mobile into the new phone and it *worked*.........except no wifi calling.
Since my house has terrible reception I really do need wifi calling in order to receive calls (I use Skype for outbound). I decided to root and install Detonator (tekhd) even though I've never done this before. Somewhere along the line I messed up and installed the latest LUX ROM because I misred Tekhd's guide on Detonator (my fault).
Here's where I stand now: I found a stock ROM for this model (N960F/DS) and reinstalled it using Odin3 v3.13.1.
After a successful flash when I insert my working T-mobile sim I get "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK."
Here the Service Provider SW shows XEU/XEU,XEU/MYM
I get the *same* message when I insert a spare T-mobile sim I happened to have that was confirmed as available with T-mobile customer service. If I take the working sim out and put it back into the other phone it works without a problem. I think that rules out the sim cards having issues.
Earlier when I had the phone rooted and Detonator installed (and working), I got a different message when I inserted the SIM:
Network Lock: This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible.
Please use the "Device Unlock" application to unlock the device.
Make sure the device has an internet connectivity to use the "Device Unlock application".
Here the Service Provider SW showed TMB/TMB/MYM.
I tried looking for a T-mobile Unlock App apk to download but could not find a recent one. I would get a "Device not supported" error. It seems T-mobile has taken it off the Playstore.
Now, I can't install a stock USA ROM from T-mobile because those ROMS are only for the Snapdragon versions and I have the Exynos chip. I was given two unlock codes over the phone with T-mobile customer service to try and unlock the Pin lock but they both did not work.
Do you think an unlock service will be able to provide me with a valid "Sim Network PUK" code? I'm happy to pay for the service if I can just get the damn phone working. I've spent almost $770 on this phone and in hindsight should just have gotten the T-mobile branded phone for $100 more. I'm really at a loss as to what I can do to rectify this situation.
Also in hindsight I should have done more research before purchasing the phone and also should have backed up my partition in TWRP........You live and you learn.
The irony here is that I had an unlocked phone.....and now it has somehow gotten locked.........by the carrier whose SIM card is working perfectly fine......in a different phone. The device was paid in full btw.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

this is a first. I always though once the region lock was lifted it couldn't be relocked( to me it seems to be a region lock issue, which if it is you need to make a 5 min call on region soil... good luck)
anyways check on your box there is a sticker with model and serial . find what carrier or region its from and grab that firmware and flash it. might want to factory wipe everything (including cache) in the recovery before booting it up indownlaod mode to do Odin flash.
also remove sim before wiping/ flashing, let it boot and do the initial setup then insert sim.

I did wipe and reinstall the stock rom with the sim removed. The strange thing is..........I get the same message if I insert an old, blank, unused t-mobile sim into the device. Plus the working sim works fine in my old phone. So how could it be that the sim is locked?
There is nothing on the box that says anything about a carrier. This was advertised and sold as a factory unlocked phone which by all indications it does seem to be. The only thing on the box that says anything about country is that it was manufactured in vietnam.

Yes there are stickers. But it is not associated with a carrier, specific region, or country. I just see IMEI info on the sticker on the back of the phone and S/N.

yeah might as well use tarp. and erase all. but before, did you sift through internal s or ext s for an efs backup that detonator might have made automatically?
check for a folder called .backup and or for a file like:

efs_backup.img
or anything similar

No, but I did download Dr. Ketan's tool to make an efs backup. But that was way later in the process....so it wasn't the original efs directory......It was after I flashed my current "stock" rom. I'm going to try and find another site to download since that one will take 2 days on slow speed......

Hi All,
Can someone please guide me to a method, if any, to change the CSC of an N9600 model CSC which is currently TGY to INS?
This is to make VoLTE work via the phone dialer instead of using the external Jio4GVoice app.
Is this possible? I know my version is the snapdragon and the Indian version is Exynos 960F or 960FD.
I want to know if the CSC file is processor specific? Can 'only CSC' be flashed via ODIN? If yes, where can i find the CSC files with fast download?
Would it trigger Knox and disable Google/Samsung Pay?
Can someone please provide their inputs?

I want to know if the CSC file is processor specific? Can 'only CSC' be flashed via ODIN? If yes, where can i find the CSC files with fast download?
Would it trigger Knox and disable Google/Samsung Pay?

I don't think this will work because the .PIT or partition file is in the CSC image. You would likely require the entire firmware image set to get the support files, frameworks for the dialer. It is not only a matter of a new CSC / region code change.

So, just for further clarity, I don't want to trip knox or lose samsung/google pay options.
These are my original ROM files:
AP_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar.md5
BL_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_N9600ZCU1ARJ6_CP10967940_CL14505206_QB20159196_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_OMC_TGY_N9600TGY1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_OMC_TGY_N9600TGY1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
I want to know if i could flash the following files in odin and still have knox and other stuff intact?
AP_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar.md5
BL_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_N9600ZCU1ARJ6_CP10967940_CL14505206_QB20159196_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_OMC_OXM_N960FOXM2ARK2_CL14366801_QB20490073_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_OMC_OXM_N960FOXM2ARK2_CL14366801_QB20490073_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
If yes, which CSC should i choose in this scenario, Home_CSC or CSC_? I don't mind a factory reset.
The only thing i'm looking for is to have the CSC changed to a multi-CSC which is the OXM version without tripping Knox and Pay features.
Would the PIT file/partition entries be different in N960F and N9600?
I have noticed the .pit file in the extracted CSC files and they have the model numbers written in it when checked with np++.
Also, would this kind of an inconsistency trip knox?
Bump. Can someone please provide me any info.
As far as I know, there isnt a way to use Snapdragon CSC on Exynos without root, so you will be out of luck, also because CSC file is signed with Samsung key, so cannot flash your own without tripping Knox

Seriously? Have you tried this method? Do you have an n9600 as well?
N9600 does not have the csc for India in the firmware right, how would it work even if I format the phone again?

Hope this will help you to same some time.
How i did Factory reset was first i put JIO sim in my phone and then go to setting and click factory reset, then my whole phone was reset and the again i factory reset my phone and everything incl VOLTE was working properly and now after the update u can have both the sim cards on 4G and now it support Dual VOLTE on the phone.

Yes i did that and the sim is in slot 1 only i even removed the other sim from sim 2 slot. I did reset the phone twice like you mentioned in the previous post.
What could i be doing wrong? When you say you're able to enable VoLTE, you're not using the Jio4GVoice app for calling and all right?

csc.md5 can also be flashed but might wipe data.

just the csc.md5 or home_csc.md5 should work.
you can also download your firmware with sam firm tool 0.3.6 as well. should be much faster.
regarding csc, your sim card is from a carrier(phone company).
carriers have a 3 letter code that identify them. you can use that 3 letter code to search and install the csc file.

as always do a full twrp backup 1st.
flash home_csc.md5 = no data wipe
flash csc.md5 = possible data wioe/phone reset
also id take out the sim 1st, flash and make it boot to home screen. then shut down phone insert sim and then power up again.

Alright i'll flash csc.md5 via odin rn with the rom i've listed above and see what happens
i had AMBASADII v4 installed on my n950F/D and all was well.
i sold my phone to a friend who was freaked out by the word root.
so i loaded up ODIN and installed MID_SM-N960F_1_20190211112001_r1d73jpuzn_fac using the CSC (hot home_CSC)
now the sim card manager doesnt work (freezes) and the device doesnt read the network (phone signal)
i am now downloading the latest ROM from https://updato.com/
what did i do wrong? could it be i had to do home_csc and not csc?
or maybe the ambasadii i had a newer CS and BL and the stock had an older modem file?

ya exactly. i know i am flashing an old firmware ...when i had ambasadii i had updated the BL and CP ....
but still, if you flash a FULL suite of the files it should still work, right? i mean we're wiping fresh and restarting. why is the new one sticking? it should revert to the old one from the old firmware.
anyways -- ive downloaded all the latest and we'll see.

BTU csc is actualy but one of the carrier sales code within the oxm region and should cover what ever sim you put in it. imei is just the phones ID shown to the provider.
I suggested BTU (uk unbranded) as oxm is not a searchable/downloadable firmware persay. i could have just as well said DBT which would also be within oxm and be the same firmware zip file. using those region codes usually yields the most up to date multi csc firmware.
