Revert to carrier ROM - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

I flashed N950FXXU3BRA8_N950FOXM2BRA1_XEF ROM on my Galaxy Note 8 (Not Rooted) and i want to recover Wifi and VoLte calling offered by my carrier.
I do a clean flash of N950FXXU3BRA8_N950FOXJ2BQL1_SFR ROM and im not able to activate SFR CSC !
The active CSC is AME and even i have an SFR sim card impossible to activate SFR CSC .
The SFR rom contains theses CSC (AME, MEO, SFR) and AME is default CSC.
How to select the SFR CSC ? I tried the code *#272*IMEI Number* and this dont work.
PS: I was able to do this in the past with the same phone (i dont remember the procedure i've used 2 months ago) and i stuck now with this problem.

[Q] Flashing stock ROM doesn't change operator CSC...

I just bought a I9305 from my french operator called SFR and I flashed it with the stock ROM. After Wiping Data from recovery mode, I managed to get rid of all the operator bloatware but, when I connect my phone to Kies, it still telles me my CSC is CSC:MA1(SFR). Is that normal? Or is there something extra I need to do to get rid of my operator's CSC? Is that even necessary?
Thanks.
Hi,
As I tell you on Phonandroid Forum , everything is right.
You just have to check your CSC code by enter
Code:
*#1234#
if you want to manage your CSC code* just enter
Code:
*#272*IMEI number#
check your CSC. You should be in NEE area.
Now you can change it in
XEF (for France - not sure existing yet for I9305)
*Take care: full reset ( factory reset ) your device if you change CSC

Can't change Australian Note 8 CSC - Stuck on Telstra

Hi Guys,
I purchased a Note 8 (950F) through Gumtree and although I knew it had the Telstra firmware,
I figured I'll just flash the regular Australian XSA unbranded firmware via Odin
and get rid of the Telstra branding as I have done in the past with other Samsungs.
Currently I use an Optus sim (which works) but have lost VoLTE and WiFi calling.
I have tried searching through these forums for a solution but can't get a clear answer.
When I flash the unbranded XSA firmware (BL, AP, CP and CSC, NOT Home_CSC)
I still get the Telstra branding and the software info remains on TEL/TEL/TEL.
Is this normal now? Are we forced to buy a phone from a network carrier if we want to use their services?
Or is there a way to make the switch but I am just overlooking something.
I don't want to root the phone or install anything custom as this will break some banking apps that I'm using.
Please help...
Currently I'm on XEF/XEF/VAU because just upgraded to Oreo, the original CSC is VAU/VAU/VAU
0. Backup your data
1. Download New Zealand or other country firmware.
2. Take both SIM and SD card out.
3. Flash the firmware of other country using CSC, not home_csc
4. Then check your CSC, should be changed.
I did't test the following steps, but I will try this weekend.
5. Flash back to Australia firmware.
6. Check the CSC number, should be changed to XSA
7. Insert SIM card.

Thanks for your input, I was considering this as I want Oreo as well but not game enough to try and mix other countries CSC's yet.
I read somewhere that Oreo will be widely available for most countries as of 1st of April, so I might wait till then and try again.
This does NOT necessarily mean Oz...
Remember, we are at the end of the list to get it as our stupid legal system upheld some patents on icons that Apple took out...
Also, if you're with any of the Telco's, add at least 6 months to that date...
Did you ever manage to get this sorted out? I'm in a similar boat to you, I have an Optus device but a Telstra Sim, when using the Telstra sim, I have no option for VoLTE, but when I use my Optus sim I do. Would like to get VoLTE and other features working on my Telstra sim.

Best Official Oreo Firmware for UK ?

So Oreo Firmware is available in 30+ Countries, but it seems that Samsung have something against UK users... ( https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note8/SM-N950F/)
Out of all the available downloads from Sammobile, whats the best ROM for (BTU) Unlocked UK variant ?
Ideally without voiding the warranty or tripping Knox.
I used the French one via Odin flashed home-CSC so not to wipe my data, everything went smoothly and now running Oreo on my Note 8 Dual SIM with no problems
I assume this will work for Single Sim, and Warranty still intact ?
Totally agree with Tonyspurs. Works 100% Even Vowifi works on my 3 network.
if you're on unlocked btu why don't you just flash the french xef, flashed my xeu (same as btu really) I didn't do home_csc but just csc as I had done an fc first anyway, you should be fine, just use the correct odin 3.13

is oem unlock needed for changing csc v3 bootloader and oreo

I have done several searches re the above.
As stated in a previous post I want to change my phone back to tel/tel/tel from xsa/xsa /tel ( xsa is generic unbranded phone in australia and telstra is a branded in Australia phone )
I have no oem unlock available as it has not been 7 days since I have flashed my phone.
should it be possible to change the csc without oemunlock with olin_csc not home_csc ( and using the other associated firmware files bl,ap etc)
and picking f reset time, auto reboot and repartition in odin .
You're good, oem unlock is only needed for flashing custom binaries.
I'm curious, how did you get xsa/xsa/tel? I have been trying to achieve this but haven't had success.. I have flashed stock xsa rom with Odin with CSC and wiped everything and it's still tel/tel/tel. I even tried Optus software and it never changes..

I did the below with oreo firmware
flash xef french firmware and setup without simcard or sd card ( you will get xef/xef/tel) then flash xsa firmware
both times use csc not homecsc. you will get xsa/xsa/tel
I
but even though I tried to reverse the above with the telstra firmware instead of xsa after reflashing french to try to get back to telstra but it did not I still have xsa/xsa /tel. no biggy samsung pay volte and richtext messages work still . Just thought I might get back to branded for something to do.

Question S21 ultra brand vodafone help to debrand

i just bought s21 ultra (998b) brand vodafone, i can't debrand it to install thai firmware, i tried flash with Odin with different firmware downloaded but nothing. I also tried to go back with firm vodafone. please help me find a solution
Flashing diffrent firmware wont help,to get rid of all the vodafone apps and logo you need to change CSC from VOD to BTU ,i assume that you are in uk?
at the moment there is no option to change CSC on android 11 so it might take some time for a solution

yes no matter what firmware you flash you will still have vodafone logo ,because the CSC code of the phone its customized for vodafone IT (OMN),i have the same issue in UK , i treid to flash several firmware versions but the phone always show vodafone logo and vodafone apps ,so i guess we need to wait for a solution

Same here, S21 Ultra on H3G Uk branding. Tried the last 2 days few different firmwares with no luck .All H3G bootlogo and apps come back after restart. Hopefully Samkey will come out with a fix for this soon.
i get the issue but i find that it doesn't really matter what branding is on there if all yr network perks like wifi calling volte etc work. I got my s21 U from samsung but flatmate got his from vodafone for work and his personal 3 sim works perfectly with wifi calling etc all working.
wont be long until samkey (as said above) will be able to change csc so hang on if the vodafone logo on startup etc bothers you
