I am Planning to buy this Beast but as sources indicate that this phone will land in India by the End of November. But its price point is a big mystery as the LG Optimus G sell's l for around 30,000/- over here in India and it has the same Specs. So what are your thoughts about getting this device and how are you going to get it.
Edit:- Bad news guys http://pricebaba.com/blog/coming-up-nokia-lumia-510-lg-l9-htc-8x-one-x
Edit 2:- Right now there are three options from where you can get this device
1) Ebay (I'll prefer this as my money is in safe hands)
2) FirangiBhai
3) Wait for LG to release in India
Its very hard to predict what Google & LG will do in India and whether if Amit Gujral is actually BSing or telling the truth.
In one hand, LG wants to sell its Optimus G on the other hand, Google is looking to push its Nexus line across to the world at a reasonable rate. Considering the same hardware specs and most likely the build quality, I assume that the LG Optimus G would be priced a bit less than the Nexus. It would be more attractive for those who want a "SD" Card and the "Same" specs. But what the Nexus line holds is the possibilities for the Future and Custom Roms, not to mention, Direct Google Updates.
Just my rant here, but I think it would be aproxx 35k or so. Which is still good considering all things and Official Support.
28K - 32K is for sure, and i belive price is decided by Google not LG, LG only comes when it comes to service, as of now i am thinking to wait, i have G-Nexus now, thinking to push it to someone else and get LG from someone returning from US, as i did for my G-Nex, it might cost around 22K
I had decided to buy a gnex, but after this seeing "beast", I can't wait to get my hands on it... hope its released soon in here...

Screw LG if they price this over 25k in India for the 16GB variant .. $350 comes out to 19k in Indian Currency .. so 25k seems pretty darn reasonable.
Hell .. if were to import it, it would cost 22-23k.
If it's around 30k then this phone is surely coming to me.
iM Thinking of getting this from usa
I think we will have to wait a few more days to see whats up with LG and the Nexus 4 in India. Thanks Hurricane Sandy!!!
Well it's quite hard to predict the future but i think if its under 20k mark then it would take the indian market on storm

Well, I registered in the LG site and mailed them, asking for details regarding this phone. [price and availability].
Not surprisingly, no answers from them. Wish I had a few contacts in LG
By the way, it would definitely not be under 20k. I am hoping that it is below 30k, 25-26k if possible . [ Google won't be distributing this phone, so it will be upto LG to decide price.] But, it would be quite weird if this retails for 35k+, almost double the us price!! Let's wait and see .
I have my brother in usa Can he buy it and send it to me ?
Device is already unlocked right?
Sorry for the, noop question

i meant that you should get a variant which does not have a sim contract because there is no sim unlock method for nexus 4 yet..
there are no sim unlock phone avaliable but they cost 100$ more. so it costs 16000..and sim locked phone costs 10000..
Getting a 16GB Nexus from USA
B**tcheshere will sell it for 30k+ For sure
Sigh :/
As with damn near every electronic device in India, the Nexus 4 will most likely carry a bloated price tag over its international counterparts. The best option would be to contact a relative or buy it through eBay or Junglee, when it becomes available.
Exactly ^
Can someone help me here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33467770#post33467770
Why the hell in hell in this world, such budget phones also land in India , a country very much concerned about prices, at such high prices. Had they released the 8gb version in india for 299$ , they would have got so many more customers.

It will be locked which is why ive been recommending people buy the exynos version.
We went through this on the s7 (CAN version was exynos) note 7, s8...all NA versions which are snapdragons are BL locked.
sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, or S6
yea if you want a note 8 get an exynos version not a snapdragon which is what tmo and all the other carriers will be selling. like the s8... in us its the sm-g955u sometimes there will be additional letters like a T (t-mobile). The U stands for carrier unlocked or unlockable dont confuse that with bootloader unlockable. There are also sm-g955f which is what the rest of the world has. The F stands for international. They are where the partys gonna be. Their "unlocked" any sim will work, but the bootloader will be unlockable so we will have custom rom developement

I already purchased a pre-order on Ebay - you pay a little more when you buy pre orders (maybe a lot more - depends on how you look at it) but I am not good about waiting. My PHone is supposed to ship around the 20th - 23rd of september - possibly sooner but don't knwo for sure.
Varient for International Versions is N950F (someone mentioned G955F but that is the Galaxy S8 Plus.
I am excited - can't wait to get it in my hands....

Where are you seeing the N950F? I'm not finding any on eBay, Amazon, or any other site for sale in USD. Also, is this European variant the only model that will have an unlockable bootloader?
Will the N950F have all bands/frequencies for US carriers? From what I found at https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-sm-n950-model-number-differences, it looks like it has almost all compared to the N950A, but there are a few that are missing. Thanks

Man, that's a lot to drop up front. Though I presume if you sell in a year, you would typically get 30-50% back if it's the INTL version....
Still debating on how to go about this one.
I try to sell the phone I own for as much as I can. I believe I can probably get around $650 to $700 for the S8 Plus G955F I own now - it is in like new condition - not a scratch - I also will include several screen protectors and cases. that I was given that I will also include to add value and to help sell it quickly)

Hi Guys
I'm looking for a dual sim phone but keep finding phones where the 2nd sim tray is also where the SD card is used, so I have to pick one or the other.
I've found this model of the Note 8 and am considering buying for use in Canada: https://www.eglobalcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-n9500-256gb-dual-sim-deepsea-blue.html
Can anyone confirm that this is definitely a dual sim phone as information on different sites are mixed?
Thanks!
Hi there, all the duos versions (dual sim) use the storage sim slot as a dual purpose - so yes, you will need to choose whether to install 256 GB external storage sim, or second carrier sim. However at 256GB of installed storage - does this really present an issue? Interesting website - thanks for the link. Not sure about that model number but they don't have 256GB duos in Orchid Grey.
Thanks for the reply.
The fact that the phone has 256GB internal storage means that the sim slots aren't an issue. I just wanted to check whether this version was dual sim as I'm looking for one phone to use a business and personal line on.
I prefer the look of the blue too, so I think I'll bite the bullet and go for this one.

I'm also waiting for the same seller to provide it , but I did not order it yet because once it is 28-29 September, this variant ( The hong kong 256gb dual sim ) will hit Hong kong markets and more sellers might sell it , may be with better prices.
But Please keep us updated once you get it.

I had inquired with this seller & he said it is snapdragon version. As per me Exynos is 1.7GHz whereas snapdragon is 1.9Gz. Plz check again the specs.
If u check Note 8 in wikipedia it says Exynos: Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz M2 Mongoose & 4×1.7 GHz) Cortex-A53 (GTS)
Snapdragon: Octa-core (4×2.35 GHz & 4×1.9 GHz) Kryo.
The link u paste in ebay shows 1.9GHz. Means it is snapdragon.

Thanks @maheshhtc. Now I am in an argument with the Ebay seller, who is claiming it is Exynos version. I tried calling Samsung but they only give information for the phone sold in the country you are in. I did find out from Samsung in Hong Kong that the "Hong Kong version" is actually Snapdragon: http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/model/SM-N9500ZVGTGY#downloads. On this site: https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-sm-n950-model-number-differences/ I had referenced N950FD which is Exynos, but didn't notice the seller's ad that it says F950FD and I can't find any reference to this model online, except for within his ad.
So many variations of this phone! Is this an "undiscovered" variation or a typo on his part?
If anyone is looking at buying the phone in the Ebay ad let me warn you the seller says he takes returns, but now is claiming I must pay him the 12% deposit he paid to the Hong Kong Samsung supplier. I hope this isn't going to turn into an Ebay dispute - the seller has 100% good feedback so I wasn't expecting any problems.
******UPDATE:
Well, it is now officially a dispute/investigation. The model number in the ad doesn't match either Samsung HK, or the Asian version I am really after (I think!): SM-N950FD which should be Exynos, 256GB, Duos, and I've heard mixed rumours re unlocked bootloader. So the ad is either a typo, new variant or fraud. I guess I will know in a few days. Ebay says they will support the return in any event because the seller never put any stipulations re returns in the ad. BUYER BEWARE!
I will post any updates as I get them.
In the meantime, please advise if my desired phone, in Orchid Grey, is available to purchase anywhere!

Hi Tonyspurs,
Thank you but that is a single sim version. I want Dual Sim, 256GB (internal), Exynos, unlocked bootloader. Sigh so far doesn't exist apparently.
*****UPDATE:
After several interesting communications back and forth with seller, the seller finally refunded the money for the phone, but not the shipping. Another call to Ebay finally took care of that - but I will still lose some money on the currency conversion. Well, that is officially the most money I have (almost) spent on a phone before... LOL. I was disgusted with Note 5 specs and then foiled by the Note 7 debacle - it's just plain mean to be teased with this elusive Note 8 and not be able to actually buy one!

It now makes sense to me why he yelled at me when I enquired whether his model was Exynos or not (he told me it was Snapdragon, but a day after yelling at me, advised he could get the Exynos variants in but not in Orchid Grey.) I think you have saved me some trouble - so thank you Just from my experience with the Note 7 debacle, 100% positive feedback doesn't mean anything - my seller got all his negative feedback deleted and I had to twist many arms to get my refund.
Please let me know if you stumble across Dual Sim, 128/256GB, Exynos Note 8 in Orchid Grey as that's the one I'm holding out for also Good luck!
Wow! I wish I had had that information to give Ebay to add to my complaint. The seller kept changing his story - including that he had told me he was selling two versions (he hadn't stated that) and that the version he was selling me was Exynos (in grey!). I see his ad is still up so maybe Ebay hasn't (yet) received enough complaints. If I saved at least one person from getting ripped off then I am glad, but I would have been happier to see the ad pulled.
Likewise if you hear of any leads for same (256GB though). Hopefully @maheshhtc will pipe up if he/she spots the phone in India this week.

Likewise if you hear of any leads for same (256GB though). Hopefully @maheshhtc will pipe up if he/she spots the phone in India this week.

It seems the guy (Kimbi) ebay seller has removed that specific ad where he had mentioned F950FD Dual sim with 256 GB internal memory. Not saying that these people are fraudsters but they take advantage of language problem. Right now 9500 dual sim with 256GB memory is available but snapdragon version. I think 27th there will be 128GB release & October 5th for 256GB exynos version.
Interesting - he just updated the ad - I checked it before posting above and it still had the FD version with last revision Sept 15th. In re-checking the revision stats after reading your post it looks like the same ad with title and description changed today. I'm guessing the Ebay complaint had something to do with the revision. At least people will now know what they are getting.

I chatted with a rep about exchanging the s8 snapdragon for an s9 exynos, the guy told me not to worry about the differences, and would not reassure me of being able to choose the exynos over the snapdragon...
I ended the conversation early.

that's impossible lol 2 complete different phones, a generation apart. no company would outright let you swap phones like that for free.

Usually, T-Mobile has BOGO(buy one get one free) after a month or two after release.
The best way to get the Exynos version (G960F/D) is on eBay. $779 so far.

Did you know someone getting it and have OEM Unlock present?
Interesting how fast the price is dropping in EU.
Can already find the S9+ for ~€800. It launched at €950.
I say give it another 3-4 weeks and it'll be under €700.
Also, can be had for $820 on US Ebay - S9+ dual sim exynos.
Price is falling WAY quicker than the S8 and S8+, both due to slower sales and incoming competition that should be fierce.

Yes, bought one from different vendor, G960F/DS (although the buid prop shows G960F) No OEM and i have to wait for a week to check. Half of the eBay are floating with G9600 which are clearly snap variants of HK.

That snap will likely have an unlocked BL but they never get any love from developers.
Exynos is still the way to go despite the OEM wait, hopefully the patch made by Dr Ketan works on oreo.
Im still hunting for a grey 128gb exynos, damn hard to find.

The seller has changed the auction.
By the way, there is an other auction for the G960FD of the same seller, cheaper than the older: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Ga...hash=item2ccf8de5af:m:mbvbdxe9xu7qACti4DYrOjw

I really want a Rog Phone 2, and I live in the USA and use AT&T... Should I buy the currently available versions online (will they even work on US AT&T?), or should I wait for the global/USA release that's suppose to come sometime in September?

Depends on what you want, need, and can afford now vs then. The belief is that the global version will have band support that the current Tencent version doesn't have. If you need that additional band support, then wait. If it's more expensive and you can afford it, then wait. But if you're impatient like me, get it now. I should have mine on Saturday. It supposedly doesn't have 71 support. And maybe more. I'll report on what I can this weekend. I'll be connecting to TMO though.
I have it on Tmobile and there are no issues with it

I also have it on tmobile. Bought it from an ebayer selling the tencent version in the US for $750 - a ripoff but I can afford it. I waited a couple weeks and flashed the international rom to it when it showed up on the chinese servers, and I couldn't be happier with it.

After I get it, I'll let ya know. I don't want to find out it's a sham or tell someone else to get one at the same place and they get duped. Gimme a couple days.

The tencent version has typical chinese battery management stuff that will cause issues with notifications, and its a bit more locked down. Best to be on the worldwide rom.

$560, eBay. They've been really good about giving me updates. Might be here Friday instead of Saturday. Supposedly shipped last Saturday. USPS with tracking.
Hi everyone,
I'm a little confused and would appreciate any help provided. I've read many of the posts and am still a little unsure which LTE bands the currently available 8/128 version has. I've seem some sites that show only a few and some sites that show more. Can someone confirm which LTE bands the currently available 8/128 version has?
Also, after switching over to the WW rom, does it allow you to pick which version of the UI (near stock vs ROG) during setup?
Thanks in advance!!!

Giztop is claiming that the 12/512 version of the tencent rog phone 2 has all the LTE bands I would need for TMobile (2, 4, 12, 66, but no 71) but I'm fairly weary.
I think I'll wait for the international model.

New Jersey. That's where they said it would come from, and that's where USPS says it's shipping from.

I've read that the Tencent version of the ROG Phone 2 doesn't support LTE band 66, but that would be pretty awesome if it does!
Additionally, everything I've read seems to suggest that the phone will work fine on AT&T/T-Mobile. I'm particularly interested in finding out if this phone will work on Verizon's network or not though. All the phones I came across on ebay have bold disclaimers stating that the phone is not compatible with Verizon. At the same time, it supports most of Verizon's 4G LTE bands (except maybe band 66) and 1900 PCS for 3G. I wonder if maybe the phone will work on Verizon but with reduced coverage? I'd rather not switch carriers but I also really want to get this phone. I'm very tempted to just buy it now and be a guinea pig for the network, but I think I'll hold out a couple more weeks until it officially launches in the US. If it doesn't work on Verizon that'd be a huge bummer, at that point I'd have to pick between switching carriers or upgrading to something else like a Note 10.
US user, LTE in USA works great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOVxNG93amc

Ok, thanks! Nothing specific, just wanted to know if it arrives ok and as described from the seller you bought it from, that sort of stuff. I'm probably almost as excited for you to receive your phone as you are lol

I really appreciate it! I'm pretty stoked about it myself. Once I get it I'll try to get some pictures and do a simple unboxing and get some diagnostic information and see if it helps the community.
