Hello,
It all started a couple of months ago when one morning, after having left my Redmi 4X to change overnight, I noticed that it stated it was fully charged, but the battery indicated 95%.
This morning the percentage had dropped to 85%.
I've tried a couple of different ROMs - Nougat and Oreo based, but nothing's changed. Moreover, I even tries resetting the battery statistics.
I should mention that the Ampere app says the battery's health is good.
Has anyone experienced anything of the sort? Do you think my battery has real problems or is this just a case of wrong reporting?
Thank you!

I updated my One to 4.3 a week ago and now it will no longer fully charge. I generally charge it overnight, 7-8 hours. I've gotten it to 90% once but it usually only gets between 70-80%. I never had any issues before. Any thought ,ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated. P.s. Could something be wrong with my charger?
Hmm maybe to wipe battery stats and do a battery calibration

In my opinion the battery is still working fine, the problem is the battery indicator that's not so precise. It drops quickly from 40 to 15%, after then it lasts for hours.
I've flashed back to kitkat... Tomorrow I will tell you if the problem persist.
would be great to know. having the same problem, but battery drops from about 60& to under 5% in no time, then lasts for still some time before it shuts down finally... but basically the same problem. i THINK it started when I flashed bios 2.02 and kitkat, but not 100% sure about that...
a possible solution to that would be great!
You can find 12000 mah batteries on aliexpress
I have the same problem , battery drains very fast from 50% to 10% then last several hours from 10% to zero . The overall time of the battery from 100% to zero is normal but the battery stats is the problem here I think . Any solution to that problem ?
The tablet is win 10 / andriod 5.0 / bios 2.02 , the problem happened in stock rom and mirek v6.0 rom

I did it and problema doesnt dissapear. I think Mireks ROM messed up with battery and going back does not help. It appears you have to recalibrate on Windows and install stock ROM without loading Android.

I would not be so sure that these batteries have actually 12000mah.
In the past (probably 2-3 years ago) I bought a replacement battery for my motorola droid, which was not original, despite having the same capacity as the original, the new battery lasted almost half comparing with the OEM battery.
Hey guys I've had a wrong battery reading since 3 weeks ago or so in my t-mobile's note 4. My phone will reboot itself at 30% battery or less. Even more if using the camera or any app stretching the phone's performance. Also when pulling out the battery or restarting the phone the percentage of battery will change randomly sometimes increased or decreased. I did a physical battery check and my battery was bad I did the spinning test on both sides of the battery and kept it spinning all the way. I bought a new battery and everything is the same in terms of wrong battery percentages when pulling out battery. No more soft reboots itself or bootloooping when reaching 30% or less. But sometimes, just sometimes when using camera or watching videos under 30% battery the phone will reboot. I've flashed since 4.4.4 and even MM official firmwares, calibrated battery and nothing changes. I could use some help from you guys. Any advices?

I already did this except for the wake lock app. The fuel gauge method is legit since S5 but I don't know if is some kind of deep software issue in term of displaying battery percentages or hardware issues (I doubt last ).
My son a i both have the Note4 and both are doing the exact same thing. Its not the battery! At 40% it will just shut down and start the loop process and i cant get it to turn back on unless i remove the battery and replace it then plug it in. The battery will say 40%. And if its at 68% it will shut off if i try to use the camera app or the internet. I have to carry a charger with me at all times and keep it plugged in. T-mobile replaced my sons and it does the exact same thing. This started happening around the holidays. Not sure if was around a firmware upgrade or not. Please help, because i still owe tons of money on these phones and Samsung doesn't seem to care to fix them. You can google this problem and you get pages and pages of complaints.
Guys, I just receive my Note8, and found battery completely dead out of the box, I never see this before.
However first day of use 15 hour with 4.5 SOT, Please advice.
Thanks

Since they test these batteries extensively I wouldn't be surprised if yours was accidentally left on. If you are truly worried and have a Samsung Experience store near by I would take it in and they can run a full diagnostics on it.

Maybe it just fell below the threshold for the battery, a long charge maybe all it needs.
Samsung store says that this is pretty normal and could happen, but a search for a similar problem in google, I found many reply suspect a battery problem if recieved dead out of the box.
I had a friend on some carrier I can't remember who note was dead also. I was surprised. But there was a SIM card already in it.
Ok, before the end of 14 days period, what's your recommendations to ensure that the battery is normal and does not suffer from abnormal self draining or other faults.
In mass production there's a chance not every phone is charged after testing. If you charged it and wi road fine. Ttbe the battery is fine

Use it and see whay the battery life is for you.
4.5 SOT and 15 hrs is pretty typical. You're fine.
If you have access to a Samsung Experience store, take it in and have them test the phone. That'll let you know if there's anything wrong with it.
The second charge give me 1 day usage and SOT 5h 40m, at night battery drain is 1% every hour, I think the battery is normal, Thanks for your support.
Hey, got a weird issue with my device.
Just 4 years old piece and already this has a dead battery!!! Cannot use it anymore basically... drains overnight on airplane mode from 75-80% to 0 in 7 hours!!! Last night I left it fully charged and shut down just to not starting anymore this morning because there is no power left, battery is EMPTY!!! Just barely started to charge!!! Something is wrong with this phone, really wrong!!!
I tried custom roms but the phone has the same behavior... so I came back to MIUI 12.5 just to be in the same position and to have the same conclusion: I HAVE A DEAD BATTERY!!!
I went back to my old Redmi Note 5 Pro with a custom rom... just like knew. How is this even possible??? An older device, with same amount of use have a better battery life than a newer device??? Different battery manufacturer, some production flaw in the battery production? Either way, conclusion is clear: NEW BATTERY... so, so disappointed by this situation...
Batteries get old and die , you have to change it , or maybe there is a short circuit on the motherboard , best option is to take it to a repair shop
I know.
But I found out that in fact my phone is only 2 years and 3 months old??? So, is this battery old enough to die? I guess there is something else here.
In the meantime, I already change the battery, sadly not with an original one... and so far so good, but only a few days passed. This battery however is acting strange! Does not charge more than 86%. Aida64 reports battery full at this precent... but I guess time will tell if I made a bad/ good choice.

encounter the same problem after 4 years of using redmi note 8 battery drains so fast unlike before and changing the battery to a new one it either does not fully charges it to 100 percent and it shutdown when my battery percent is around 20 or so percent but when I try to connect a charge and remove it, it will open up to that 20% or so percentage and continue to be used, I'm guessing the it need a battery calibration but I know really know what to follow on the internet.
