Bugfree roms are already there
almost a year later
what I hope for is for developers to get info how to implement proper quick charge support, like on miui, on custom kernels it's still far from perfect

Far from congratulating Xiaomi, but better late than never. It's still a capable device and this release will only make custom ROMs better.
please devs, use the kernel for implementing scheduling power on of the phone, like in the miui
Great news! Will it be possible now to include Aptx using a custom kernel on MIUI?

Kernel has nothing to do with aptX. Moreover, it's proprietary and requires licensing to OEMs.

Only it is compatible with MIUI but the Chinese version Stable and EU
Warning:
Replace the modules manually to / system, they are in the zip but the zip does not install them, in what I see as solving the zip, install the modules so
If they do not the wifi will not work for them

CrashbitKernel v1: (Stable)
1. Updated kernel to version 3.18.55 (EOL)

Gotta ask since I'm unfamiliar with this -- what advantages does this kernel offer over the default Xiaomi one or the ones by msdx321/Siyuan or jacoghi? Thanks
Yes, could you be more specific as to what changes are implemented in the kernel exactly and what the differences are between this kernel, the stock one and the ones by msdx321? Thanks in advance and good work.
I think it's not compatible with Mokee, i had soft brick (only fastboot)

Why no developer is working on A2
There so many custom ROMs for note 5 pro
At least Lineage os
And official TWRP
because a/b pattition
you can flash gsi, or convert a2 to 6x, it have some custom roms (aex, havoc, pe), but newer 6x stock rom (miui) have arb.

Nothing is happening because roms don't fall from the sky. Find some devs. Donate hardware to them, pay them. Or wait.

LineageOS for the A1 was released six! months after the device got released. So we are still within the normal timeframe for rom development.

Wow, didnt knew that, but its surprising for me. Thanks for this info
not so much stable ROM because this device still new just released July 2018 back then and Xiaomi just released the kernel for developer (read it somewhere I forgot, sorry I can't source it). Give the devs who interested some time to experiment with it and we will see much more ROMs in the next few months.

Hey
Actually, I am on stock MIUI rom, because it's stable and because there isn't a good alternative. Most of custom roms are still in development and not completed.
Even GSI, it's not very stable. So, not recommended for daily usage.
In future i think I'll go with custom rom. Maybe LineageOs. I used it on other devices in past years... It's really clean, optimized and well supported.
Global Dev, although still some bugs it's quite stable and reliable.
Will probably switch to a custom ROM once a stable version based on sleak AOSP is available. But I don't trust ROMs from unknown sources so minimum requirement is documented open-source development, e. g. Github. On the previous phone, Oneplus 2, I still run LineageOS at complete satisfaction. Still supplying weekly updates for a four year old device.
Cheers
Toscha

Its has only 5-7 languages in my knowledge. Since i need only English i really don't care about it. Used MS rom in Mi8 (really likes) and now waiting for bootloader unlock in Mi9 to flash MS rom
Regarding Gpay there is a fix. So no issues. And its comes with some bloatware removed so i think battery will be ok...
