Hello
I took my p9 lite vns-l31c432. OK
I made it go to was-al00c00b240. OK
i reflected huawei's recovery.img stock and i closed the bootloader.
it works properly.
NOW.
I tested ota update with the phone, does not work.
I tested finder does not work.
i tested huawei updater v2.0, does not work.
I tested update on the pc with hisuite, does not work.
I can not register for the beta, I do not have a Chinese phone number, I am in France.
And
of course dload method, sofware install failed!

Nice try man! Ok, did you try to update b311 using ffinder, or just with beta program? Now, I see that they remove beta b311 from ffinder...
Also, just keep it in mind that Emui 8 change some partitions including recovery sectors. So, we dont have Twrp for emui 8 for our models, and its big posibillity to stuck on some beta emui 8 lets say Al00C00 without any chance to rollback to Emui 5 and destroy partitions, brick your phone trying that. Just wait for custom recovery for Emui 8 for Kirin 658, after that u can do some experiments ?
Regards.

new tests.
Too bad, I tried DC-Phoenix V50 with 15 credits.
to install b331-log, after having restarted the installation 4 or 5 times, he finished installing it completely. I wonder how dc-phoenix can create a new partition.
and that on xda, there is no dev that could create an equivallent toolkit.
But, the p9 lite remains on a black screen, the volume and power buttons do not respond anymore.
no led lights up. But it still remains recognized in fastboot mode.
so, I can always go back to a clean device.

After installing twrp recovery i decided to install SU too. After that my phone is stuck in bootloop, before SU installation it worked just fine (with just the twrp) ;[
So here's my phone info (all i could get):
Model: PRA-LX1 (other ppl place here some diffrent numbers but i dont know where to find them since i cant even start my phone)
FCC ID: QIPRA-LX1
Well if someone could find a stock frimewere (or pre-rooted custom rom that would work on this phone) and give a link to it i would be greatfull couse i searched a lot and i'm still with nothing.
Now im left with empty brick with no OS at all...
Help! ;[

... But this is P9 Lite "2017" and what i heard is that this model comes with name of P8 Lite 2017 and if im not wrong there is no P9 Lite "2017" thread just P9 Lite which is completly diffrent device!
Let's do this in a diffrent way...
If there is a person who owns the same phone and the same model PRA-LX1 which is the only thing written on the box,
then i ask you to do a twrp system backup and maybe give the file to me.

Yeah, with flash. Search universal flashboot anf than flash everything in order (these are not the orders, just an ex) flashboot boot boot.img flashboot recovery recovery.img etc(extracted from the zip file, maybr with huawei extractor)
But try to update you're TWRP, either to personas one or OpenKirin's TWRP, you should not have any problem on TWRP 3.1.1-0
Quick update nothing new, nothing works just gonna go to huwaei service room and hope that they can fix this... :[

First.. i supose you have TWRP ...
So, if im not wrong, your phone use 3 files to install the firmware ( like P8 Lite 2017 )...
Must be like this:
Download the 3 zip files (update.zip, cust and public data) of the firmware you want to flash and copy them to your phone’s memory.
Unplug the USB cable and power off your device.
Now hold Vol up + Power keys for a few seconds to boot into TWRP mode.
In TWRP, go to Install and flash the update.zip package.
After that, install the remaining two update files (cust and then the public data package).
Wipe the dalvik cache( or do a factory reset ) and then reboot normally into the new system.
Now the ROM... i don´t know where you can find it, sorry ...
.
Hello everyone,
I'm new in xda's forum and so that's my first thread.
I hope you can help me.
I have a Huawei P9 EVA-L09C02B357 that lately it automatically reboot about every 2 minutes. The interesting things is that it happened only if I boot the ROM (stock or not). But in recovery mode (or erecovery) or fastboot mode, this automatic reboot doesnt manifest.
All is started when I have tried to install RROS Nougat on my phones and it was working when i tried to turn off the phone and then turn it on but nothing, the phone was stuck on boot phase.
I decided to switch data file system from f2fs to ext4 and then reinstall it as the guide explains.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-t3606185
The ROM worked correctly except the fingerprint sensor.
During the first configuration, it scans my fingerprint but for a bug, i couldnt go over the first scan.
Searching on the internet I understood that the problem could be the modem. But for a mistake I have flashed the wrong fix for the modem (it was for another phone, don't ask me how I didnt notice it).
Now even with stock rom or custom the phone has this automatic reboot. Particularly the stock rom has many bugs every time i flash it, like: there isn't the IMEI, there aren't any preinstalled apps, is really slow in some situations and the default keyboard is the voice typing...
I think the solution is to flash the stock modem, but when I try to flash it via fastboot, it says: "No suitable files selected. Check profiles.xml".
Thanks in advance
P.S. sorry for my bad english :C

To go back to android 6, my phone should have android 7 installed? Cuz now i have some problems to flash it.
UPDATE
Thank you so much vampirian!
I have successfully installed android 6 and the automatic reboot is gone.
Now i'll try to update it and probably retry to install RROS .

This is not the serial number (of your device) but the stock firmware build mame/number
If you debrand to c432 (EU) from your c900, you will automatically receive (must have SIM card in) OTA updates first to b242 (over your b182) and then further OTA updates up to b399 or even b502
PS: For debranding to c432 you can use this guide

If you have debranded to c432 as suggested in my previous post, let it update as far as it gets (b398, b399 or even b502).
Once it stops receiving OTAs, perform Hard reset with wiping Internal memory (you can do it from Settings or from eRecovery)
Btw, if it attempts an OTA but it fails, then go back to the updating screen and choose Full update, instead of (default) differential update.
Which ROM to suggest you - Magic Rainbow v4:

Are you now on EVA-L09 c432 b395, exactly as that?
You do not receive further OTA, or you received OTA but it failed (in that case force Full update as suggested above)?
If you're really not receiving OTA b398 or b399, try Hard reset with wiping Internal memory - if still mo OTA, install b398 by HWOTA method
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787156&postcount=3
Once you reach b398, you're ready for MR v4.

If you boot to eRecvery ( Vol+ and Pow) you will find Hard reset option.
Similarly, under Settings /Advanced Settings/ Reset phone there is also hard reset option - cannot tell you better details, I have TWRP and MR v4, I don't have these options.
Also if you 'dial' ' *#*#2846579#*#* a hidden Project menu will open, with Restore Factory option

Both two last options as listed (Settings and Project Menu) are present in stock ROM.
And you can boot to eRecovery as above - shut down, then press and keep pressing Vol+ and Pow together
If not OTA, then the best way for manual updating is HWOTA, I gave you the link also above
But still, you didn't confirm, are you really on EVA L09 c432 b395, ie, you are not on L19 (by mistake)

I was on EVA-L09 c432 b395 and now I'm on b502. I tell you what I did.
I tried to make a reset bt the Project Menu option but, the reset it didn't gave any update...
So I tried with firmware finder (android version) and I used the DNS method. I have chosen the b397 OTA and the updater found it.
During the download, it arrived at 25% and suddenly the phone has found the b502 for a total of 4 patch to download together (I dont know how to explain that thing).
After download the phone reboot for installing phase but it failed... and on boot it appeared a red warning, then i went to erecovery, shut off the phone and go to recovery mode for a factory reset.
Factory reset was a success but on boot the red warning still appear but i tried to continue to boot... fortunately it was all ok but the phone was on b395.
It magically appeared the screen for b502 Full-OTA update and now I have it!
I wouldn't understimate you but I always prefer to try solution by myself.

The app doesn't show "switch to another version" option
why?
You have another version of phone/firmware.
Has anyone tried it? Any success? Does this method require DNS change or not? I'm stuck with EMUI 9.0.0.47 beta after doing factory reset so eRecovery doesn't see previous and next EMUI versions.

If you are unlocked you can use HWOTA to downgrade back.

EDIT: Modified the bat so it begins now where I was stuck and it seemed to have done the trick. Will report if it worked !
Thanks for all the help Pretoriano80, managed to finally make it back. Had to fiddle with some things, erecovery kept whining till I fed it a SIM card (don't really know why but whatever-). The only thing remaining is I want to relock my bootloader, but did not succeed to get a "LOCKED" status instead of "RELOCKED". Need it in case I need to take my phone to the service center one day, do you know how to solve this one without using DC Unlocker ?

Hello, it's working like charm on Mate 10 ALP-AL00 with 9.0.0.120
Thank you very much!!!
Good afternoon,
So I got a Mate 10 Dual sim ALP-l29 (C636). I used to be on EMUI 10, but I want to root it (for one reason only, unlock camera api to get raw on the monochrome sensor).
I managed to roll back 2 times and ends up with 8.0.0.143 with the security patch of 1 october 2018. Unfortunately I need to be on June 2018 to be able to unlock the bootloader and then, root it.
So I tried hisuite proxy and copy paste links to try to get to an older firmware but I'm stuck.
Ideally I want ALP-L29C636B136 (8.0.0.136)
What should I put for CUST and PRELOAD ?
ALP-L29-OVS 8.0.0.136
ALP-L29-CUST 8.0.0136(C636)
ALP-L29-PRELOAD 8.0.0.136(C636R1)
I tried, hisuite, it download the files but then it stops at the install and failed.
I tried via the sd card and dload folder but stops at 5%.
A bit lost, if someone could help that would be awesome !

There is a solution, but requires the back cover removal and a paid software.
However, if you are interested in camera API, you will be disappointed, because Huawei devices has only limited support, no matter the firmware version.

Ok, but why you didn`t roll back from 10.0.0.175 down to 9.1.0.x? When you press "Upgrade" in the HiSuite, there is an option "Other versions", you choose it, and there is a possibility to downgrade the FW. You downgrade step-by-step to 9.1.0.x, then start to uograde to 10.0.x.x. and stop when you find the suitable FW.

Because I thought I was already fine on 10.0.0.175 to update on 10.0.0.185.. What was my mistake?
In this case, I do not know, maybe now the upgrade plan is different from the previous one, maybe they have now excluded some intermediate versions of FW ...

you can install it with locked bootloader. But after installation it will cause a hard reset and delete all information even in user part of memory. Backup your files.

I have no prob with reset. Just tell me this. Should roalback to 10.0.0.175 first and then update to 10.0.0.185 or just install 10.0.0.185 on 10.1.0.181?

You can`t install 10.0.x.x over the 10.1.x.x.
On the first step you have to downgrade to 10.0.0.175 via HiSuite, then you will be able to flash the 10.0.0.185, using this method ("HOW TO flash dload FW: ... UPGRADE USING OTG ADAPTER or OTG CABLE + USB MEMORY STICK")
