Can someone suggest a good Android Nougat rom? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried a few Oreo roms and have the same issue with all of them - no deep sleep, reboots, screen sometimes wont turn on etc. I'm going to wait for it to become stable.
What's a good, stable N rom to try? LineageOS will encrypt the phone so I want to pick something else maybe something based on it? What are some good stable rom+kernel options? I'm on Fi also.

Stock 7.1.1 is best. Lineage 14.1 is second. Resurrection Remix 7.1.2 is third

I've been using AICP 12.1 (7.1.2 Nougat) with EX Kernel with no issues. I then upgraded to AICP 13.1 (8.1.0). No reboots on AICP Oreo. I haven't noticed an issue with deep sleep. But, AICP 12.1 is very stable. Good luck on your search!
Edit: I haven't been successful with getting EX Kernel to work with AICP Oreo. I've been running stock AICP Oreo.

This x100, Pure Nexus and others were great, but kept coming back to Stock + Xposed

I think Pure Nexus is the best. I use it with Franco Kernel and get pretty good SOT and Standby.

BT and wifi on(all time)
No problem with my watch(connected all time)
With Xposed and V4A & greenify
RR 8.1 is best ROM for me

Stock 7.1.1 ,debloated,Xposed, magisk 16, gravitybox, ElementalX noop 1024 deep black, viper4droid, adaway, iYTBP, 1080x1920 on 420

Try Nitrogen OS Oreo rom. Great battery life.

I still see (on Oreo) that my phone doesn't go into deep sleep. Going to try latest builds of Nitrogen and RR with newest ElementalX.

Nitro rom. Love it

Looking for a good, fast and stable (with possibility of some customisations) ROM

hello all,
I'm looking for a good, fast and stable (with possibility of some customisations) ROM...
I was with stock until last week. I've now unlocked with htcdev.com (S-ON) and rooted.
I'm currently with Android Revolution HD 93.0 for the past 4 days.
but the rom is very laggy, takes a lot of time to load maps in google maps, to switch between apps, to open / close apps ...
not sure what I can do there... so what would you guys recommend?
my m7 htc:
android version is 5.0.2
sense 6.0
build 7.19.401.30
kernel 3.4.10
Thank you
i'm looking for that too, i think the best option we have is to find a stable nougat rom for daily use.

I'm no expert... but I'm not too confident in android 7 for this phone... maybe I'm wrong...
Well, waiting on the expert suggestions.
TeslaOS Rom is the only Android N Rom without any bugs as far as i know.
Thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/test-rom-t3519577
Download Rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=133965
and Wake Control Kernel https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298917630
I can recommended AICP Rom also and LineageOS 14.1. Both roms are really stable and fast. If you prefer stock roms than I can recommend InsertCoin rom or ARTMOD with ElementalX or Xceed kernel

i think i gonna give a try to lineageOS 14.1 , i saw many good feedbacks...
Lineage 14.1 is the best for me. I tried resurrection remix but wasnt cool as lineage 14.1
I'm happy with AICP. For me it's stable, fast, has descent customization options and nightly updates. I've tried all available Nougat ROMs and have no complaints about AICP.
resurrection remix 5.82 also not bad. one of the best rom with lot of customizations.
I've been running ViperOne 9.0.0 since it started. Runs well with lots of customisation. Can sometimes slow down depending how much space you have i think but overall very stable with ElementalX kernel imo. It's been my daily driver forever.
I've not tried nougut due to no xposed yet so i can't comment which roms for that.
I can attest that the most stable ROM as far as I can see right now for my M7 is the good ole CM 12.1 Lollipop rom with nano gapps. I use a 2015-10-6 build date release I had downloaded some time ago before CM locked shop. I get the longest battery life, best performance in games, most available RAM, and just the most stable behavior overall. I play Pokemon Go so having an unrooted rom is essential for me. However you can unroot CM based roms I've found easily in general. This time around i just installed iSu.apk (root switcher app I found here on xda), enabled it and restarted my phone which causes you to lose root (which I don't mind).
I've tried several of the Nougat ROMS including Lineage OS 14.1, Resurrection Remix N7 and SlimRom. They all have issues surrounding making and receiving calls for my M7. Some persons have said in the forums they don't have issues where that's concerned though. But i see a lot of persons reporting they do. My phone would freeze and restart after I came off a call at times on Nougat. Regarding Marshmallow... worse. So yes i recommend CM 12.1

I believe I will try AICP 7.1.1 on the M7 as I've recently tried it on an LG G2 D802 & it was fantastic breath of fresh air. Granted I didn't test every function but the speed great, smooth & not a single crash so far anyway. I'm very pleased with the Stability of N so far as I also have them on some original Nexus 7 Tab's and it runs nicely.

Well I'm no longer passing the SafetyNet tests since Monday and as such I can no longer play Pokemon Go. Google must have updated their code. So I may just end up trying AICP...

The Bug people are talking about only happens if you end a call with speaker active. The next call has no sound until you end the call without speaker (next call will have sound) or reboot the phone. This Bug is present on all N roms.
Any chance to have Android O after release?

Stable Rom for Daily Use

Hello, I was going to root my Moto X and wanted to know what recommendations there are for very stable roms currently available. Thanks ahead.
Use Lineage OS, its the most stable one.
Latest stock with xposed or CypherOS works both for me.
Cheers

You mean the one which still doesn't show charging percentage when the phone is off?
Go for Resurrection Remix or AOSP Extended, they've got the most features and they work great (AOSP gives you that extra bit in battery life)
For me the best is LineageOs
I tried a lot of ROMs, but since May for me, a good choice is LineageOs, stable, simple, smooth. All working good, great battery life with greenify.
(The ROM shows battery percentage when phone is changing while it's off) The bug was fixed some time ago. I recommend you this Rom.

Its stable enough. If it will not be stable enough for you, you can always switch to another rom.
Which rom date should I try?
Hello, I want to try Lineage, which rom date should I try?
The latest work fine.
This month they fixed some bugs, the ROM of 16 June is working very good.
For root:go on LineageOs page download, on extras you find it, the name is: addonsu-arm-signed.zip
Just flash it after installing lineage
For opengapps I recommend you Pico or Stock
I recommend you to use an usb for installing the ROM,gapps and root.
I flash all ROMs from usb otg, I wipe everything on my phone, except otg.

[discussion] Which Oreo ROM are you running and why

Hello guys ,
I am currently running oos 5.0.1 Oreo and wanted to shift to a custom Oreo ROM for better battery - performance , so wanted to know which rom are you guys using and how its doing with you.
I'm actually running on NOS
I'm back from cypheros test build because it's have too much bugs 5.1
Omni doesn't have new brightness slider and color manager and screen recorder so I'm not going to flash it rn (I'm also feel bloated by many useless apps like matlog music app and other omni apps)
i tried aex, slimm, candy, pixel experience, cosmicos, los 15.1, aicp but they have too much bugs for me (many of them not have system ui crash or system)
oxygen os as 8.0 is too slow for me i can't even fast type with any kernel on xda for oos (also battery life is bad)
I'm staying with Omni/NOS until AOSPA or cypheros gets stable enough to use it for daily driver.

Few weeks back. Issues with force closes. I know that alot has changed but I ain't a flash alcoholic and OOS currently works for me so.
for people who are asking for DU:
DU builds: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dirty-unicorns/files/oneplus3/
I got that from YouTube review video and it's saying not official !

I was searching for DU Oreo builds to try it out and by luck I found it in the description of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVFrUZ9-Krs (Indian review so I didn't watch it.)
I have tested DU and I'm think its slow as Los 15.1 I'm again back to NOS
we should have telegram or whatsapp or xda thread for these discussions.. that'd be great
Omni and nos are the only viable Oreo ROMs. Maybe when they release z unleashed will be great
The only way to get a good DU 8.1 build is to know someone or to build yourself.

I'm actually on aosip.
Its feels stable but only one bug is navbar i can't change it and its too big/black and that hurts my eyes.
camera is really good better than nos IMO.
faster/smoother
i don't know how's battery because i didn't charge my phone to 100% also dash charge doesn't work

Please suggest a rock solid ROM (Any Android version)

As the title says, Can anyone please suggest me a really rock solid ROM? My mom use this device, So i cannot personally experiment much myself. Any Android version will work.
I'm currently using XenonHD but it have some bugs like Force closing of Google now launcher (sometimes), Bluetooth don't work for me, Wifi keeps getting disconnected after sleep, Some apps freeze.
I've also tried RR rom (both official and unofficial) few months back but due to proximity bug, Apps force close (quite often on official one), I've discontinued it.
It would be a great help if anyone could post their review about bugs and performance and battery backup of Daniel_hk's Lineage & Carbon build and Vibe_UI final (Or other versions) or any other rom you use as a daily driver.
Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Go for lineage
If you need the most stable one than i think the lineage os 14.1 .according to my exp the lineage os has got the minimum number of bugs with no major ones. As i too had the same experience with the RR rom when i used to use it i can clearly say that the lineage os 14.1 is much better than RR rom...

Thanks to you now i also using lineage 14.
I Want to know which kernal are you using it with?
Venom (not booting even after unpacking boot.img) and Ultimate kernal is not booting.
Reince have Wifi autoconnect bug and pixelblitz's link is down.

ANy better kernels out there?

I have A Leeco le 2 and ressurection remix rom. Semmed the best lineage was battery sucking and the pie's were ehh. Im currently running oreo on the punisher kerenl. I had tried the graphine kernel and was sluggish. I guess there is a overload and a few others if anyone can guide me for 8.1 oreo. Ohh and also quick question can I flash a new kernel in twrp overtop of one current and just wipe dalavik cache?
Thanks Logic

OK here's an updated. I ditched ressurection remix Oreo for this liquid remix. Flashed the graphine kernel and sum android pie gapps. Everything seems good so far. Have only used it for a few hours however kind of same customizations you can't disable GPS on screen off tho but there are a few more features. Thing is speedy as f tho. I will do an update on battery life and camera too but shish flys
Christmas Remix Response
OK testing liquid remix was great mostly everything worked except these things. WiFi hotspot would not work it booted in 1 min 10 seconds and for sum reason the CPU clocks in kernel auditor were locked. I did flash the graphine kernel so I'm not sure if that was part of the issue. I wanted something stable with no hidden surprises. So since I have used resurrection remix with everything working except a footij camera app it works flawless and stable. I went back to resurrection remix 8.1 Oreo and flashed the punisher kernel. 35 seconds boot. Great battery life.

Graphene Kernel is responsible for the Hotspot bug where the reboots after switching hotspot off.......
for pie roms, try Overload Kernel v4.13....you'll find the link at the end of the Overload kernel thread....
Thanks yeah I did that. It looks like there is a overload v5.1 out now too. However I flashed the liquid remix with the overload v4.13 and this baby rips. Finally everything work on custom ROM and kernel on pie for this device.

My favorites were resurrection remix and liquid remix.
Resurrection 4g LTE didn't work tho and camera bugs. The liquid remix everything works
