Pix3lify
As a Mi A1 user, I was stuck with Stock Oreo 8.0.0 without Oreo custom ROMs when I first bought my device. Kernel sources weren't released at the time so I decided if I can cook up a Magisk module that can bring me the Pixel UI without the need to install that ROM. What I did is to search around the internet which lead me to downloading the Pixel 3 XL factory images and I have extracted the files mostly needed in the new Pixel 3 devices. I've decided to gather these files and compiled them all into a single Magisk Module. This module can be flashed with other devices on Nougat and above as well.

I definitely want to know the answer to this one!
Hello, thank you for the module !!
Do you think night mode (== blue filter, not the dark theme) can be re-added to Nexus 6P with it ?
Does this works on los 15.1? I think it should because it's android 8.1 and it's almost stock.
Is it fully compatible on the Galaxy s8 exynos ?
Is google lens also work in google assistant...?

As much as I want to answer that, I don't have a OnePlus device on OOS. But since OOS is close to stock, it may possibly work as no files in the system are being replaced. Feel free to test and provide feedback for other users.

Hi! I'm really not sure what caused the Night light feature to go away but as far as testing goes, this module doesn't re-enable it. Sorry.

It should work on any custom ROM with a near stock experience. I've tested it on crDroid 8.1 and it's working fine.

I think that feature is enabled server-side which means the feature rolls out per account/location probably.

That I've yet to find out, but I don't think all the features will work as it's on TouchWiz and the module mostly serves stock/near-stock/custom ROMs.

Actually, I wanted to know the answer because I already have a couple of Pixel-related modules installed (Lens enabler, Pixel Launcher) and did not want to go through the hassle of disabling them to test this.
But I'll see if I can test it tonight. Thanks for answering it anyway! :good:

This module is based on @AdrianDC idea to simply make a patch for Low_RAM property. I made it as a Magisk Module in order to not tampering with system partition.
@AdrianDC thread: Here
This module will change the UI behaviour of Android to Android Go edition.
Features affected by the low-ram property:
Flat recent / multitasking UI, multi-users disabled, high-end graphics disabled, less recent apps cache, multi-windows disabled, minor notification icons changes, less logger buffer sizes (devs), no apps notifications access / zen access / VR listeners / picture in picture (PIP) accesses.
Tested on Redmi 3S (Land) with Nitrogen OS (Android 8.1.0)

This is a magisk module. Go to that section and press the plus symbol.
Thanks for this! I installed it and I love the different recent apps screen. Technically I probably don't need the low ram config with 2 GB of ram, but I like it so far. Only potential downside for me is loosing the pip feature.
Any chance to support sdk28? Installer say that only works on Oreo ?

I just finished enabling it on my Nexus 5X with Pixel Experience ROM (Android 9 Pie) and it doesn't seem to have broken anything.
The recents apps screen is a very welcome change, I hated the one introduced in Android 9.
But overall idk, my Android OS still seems to be eating 1+ GB RAM out of 2 in total...

Does this module enable your N5X using Assistant go, for example? Does your N5X run more smooth with this patch? Do you turn your big off to avoid BLOD? Sorry if OT! Thanks!
Bootloop issue
It works on Custom ROM but It doesn't work on MIUI 11 ROM.
Does it work in Android 10? I had tried with the original low RAM mod but it didn't have any effect. Pie and lower worked well.
Does it work with nougat and touchwiz?

Also curious to know, I've been looking for a way to enable the Low Ram flag in Android 10 without success.

Didn't work for me either. It could be the ROM/developer did not add proper support.
While this module works on Android Pie, this broke the recent apps switcher on LOS 16 for microG for me.
Going to try and disable the module to see if that will fix things.
Update - The module didn't show up in Magisk, so had to use the original disable script by AdrianDC in TWRP and that fixed things.
This module is working perfectly with CRDroid Android 11.
My Device is Redmi 4a (Rolex)
Thankyou so much
Hey Everyone.. Like all of you I've been using the gcam magisk module on our max 2. But when it comes to Oreo ROMs slow motion did not work on them.. So I checked a lot of ports and found this one.
NB: no other plugin/add-on were flashed or installed on my device. And Device is not rooted currently! {So no magisk}
Tested on : All Oreo ROMs!
Source : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
The version I found working :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=746163614322274623
Installation: Just the way you install a normal apk!
*oh and everything works btw*
Enjoy!!
And kindly hit the thanks button if it helped you!!
nice thx for testing lots of versions should come in handy for lots of oreo MM2 users
subbed
[Off Topic]{Out of curiosity}
I tested this port on some other devices running SD 625 and it only worked on MM2!(so far) IDK why!
Every device had Android Oreo 8.1 |Custom ROMs|
Devices I Tested it with:
1. Moto G5 Plus
2. Moto G5S Plus
3. Mi A1
Not important but I thought I'll let you guys know
much obliged:laugh:
Use the Redmi 5 Plus GCam version, works on every 8.1 AOSP ROMs I've tried (all modes, slow motion included): Pixel Experience, MSM Xtended 9.5, AOSP Extended, LOS 15.1, Havoc, RR 6.1, DotOS 2.x, Bootleggers 2.3
We also have a modded version for Max2 from BSG, I tested it on AOSP Extended but slow motion mode didn't worked
Nice Job
work pretty well in mi max 2 with RR 6.2.0 Oreo
GCam 6.1 mod for Max 2 works flawlessly except slow motion mode. Night light enabled and really improved quality of photos in dark night.
Retail users have been stuck on 8.0 from more than 8 months for now and me too like some people here do not mind 8.1 if we are going to get Pie.. But there are only a handful of roms available for such a good device. Still RR, CarbonOS are in works but no Pixel Experience? I've read that Pixel Experience is soo close to Pixel devices that even the apps like Digital Well-being which is a Made by Google device exclusive is available for them. I do not know how to get or contact them for bringing the ROM to this device.. can the people working on 9.0 GSI work on this!? I really would love that ROM on this device.. pls bring this to attention on anyone who can work on it ??

The only ROM that's still under development is LineageOS, version 15.1 is official now and we have version 16 under development, you can use this version as a daily drive, SD need some fixes (adoptable storage don't work) and minor fixes to Lineage features, here I'm using Pixel Launcher, I did a custom installation of Super package from OpenGApps to exclude some apps and maintain what I want and the Pixel Launcher.
Digital Well-being is here, I don't remember if it's ROM integrated or from GApps, but it's here.
I think we don't need someone developing especifically for our device because Treble is here, thanks to @erfanoabdi he's working on LineageOS and if some vendor fix is needed, you can ask him.
You can find LineageOS 16 builds here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=281597
You can use the tutorial for LineageOS 15.1.

For those of you running Android 9 on your XC, I've come across a relatively stable GCam port with the latest Pixel camera functionality. While not entirely perfect on the XC, it does work quite well and takes some amazing shots with the right settings. For those that would like to try here's the link:
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/PMGC_7.0.009_HDR_Version_V13.apk
If you have any better GCam suggestions, feel free to add here.
Does it work on LineageOS 16.0 port by Chipp_a?
No, that version uses Linux 3.10.x kernel, which unfortunately does not support any of the newer GCam mods with HDR support.
