Thanks
Out of 3 updatefiles, l29 and l09 share 2 files, the mainupdatefile (biggest file) and the publicfile (smallest file). the file around 600megs differ from l09 to l29. Click on "filelist" on the ff-page a and popup with all the files will appear.
You can only install approved files on your device with FF (Check with the app and imei). If it isn´t signed by huawei for you device, it won´t install. the only way to install and an unapproved file is via the hwota method.
The files you´ll find on ff are testfirmwares. FullOTA-MF stands for an internal release. FullOTA-MF-PV is the pubic version. Unfornuately the is no PV for the l29.
Why B185 is newer than B186? ...ask Huawei
I now run the VTR-L29 C432 B180 firmware.
Neither the integrated update, nor the HiCare App find updates for me (Austria).
Can I force an update via the HiCare App (use other country?) or what should I do to get EMUI 8 ASAP?
Firmware Finder for Huawei tells me,
1. that the new B360 is not compatible (with IMEI)
2. the first B185 update is approved for installation Models for installation: VTR-L09C432B185 (<--- why do I even see a update for the L09?)
3. the second B185 update is approved for installation Models for installation: VTR-L29C432B185
All of them are only FullOTA-MF. Is it safe to install them via FF? What would you recommend?

Hello ,I never got a update for my Huawei mate s and I want to update it how I do it my my version is CRR-L09C576B125 from israel?
I was in the same situation
1 - Download the appropriate firmware for your device (same region (C576) and model type (L09)
2 - It'll contain two major files, UPDATE.APP and META-INF folder
3 - Create a folder called dload on the sdcard or internal storage
4 - Open the EMUI updater app and update from local storage, should begin automatically. If that doesn't work try rebooting into the recovery and it will update the device
Where I download my firmware?
No region-specific firmware? I also encountered something similar and installed European (C432) firmware from this thread, it is version B390 with EMUI 4.0.3, April 2017

By changelog: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1864/g1755/v102094/f1/full/changelog.xml
its look like the same update as B391 for L09 version
What does it mean is it 'available' or not.
It shows on FirmwareFinder but as Not Approved and there is no FullOTA-MF-PV (as of today)
As such, it does not get pushed by OTA and cannot be installed by DLOAD or TWRP.
there is FullOTA-MF at http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/

But not FullOTA-MF-PV (Public Version)
any update for P9?
I am running L19c185b394 (was on 393)
for updating, you must select the very next firmware on Firmware Finder
i was on 387, updated using fullota-MF to 388,
but it updated to 391 instead
then i updated to 393 and 394
P.S
The best way of updating is the DNS method.
1. Register
2. Change DNS
3.check for update
4.Start downloading, but stop the vpn server.
In the Firmware Finder version for Android, the firmware VTR-L29C605B321 (8.0.0.321) appears on my Huawei P10, but the BETA version is still in Europe and the C605 in the firmware indicates that it is for Latin America, someone has more information?
It's the b321
Thanks for your answer, but then, what's the meaning of (8.0.0.321).
I assumed it was because of oreo.
And, in Firmware Finder database
http :// pro-teammt .ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=VTR
the changelog shows EMUI 8.0
http :// update.hicloud .com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2323/g1699/v113112/f1/full/changelog.xml
Can you share the oeminfo please?

Any Way to flash this ROM on my L29-C432B179? @Jannomag
Since there's no L29-C432 version yet, you have to rebrand and install an older version of the rebranded version. After this you should be able to install this via Firmware Finder Proxy or HWOTA with some modifications...but no warranty for this!
Here in this forum are some good tutorials for rebranding and updating without Huaweis services.
Or just the simple way: wait a few weeks.
Hello!
I'm currently running on EMUI 4.1.1 (EVA-L09C900B182)
I downloaded the official firmware for P9 from Huawei website, extracted the UPDATE.APP with this tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454 so i could get the stock RECOVERY.img.
I placed the UPDATE.APP in a dload folder on the root of my external SDCARD
Rebooted into bootloader, flashed the stock recovery (I had TWRP).
vol+, vol- and power button togheter, it tries to install but fails (software install failed! Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package.)
I tried also with huawei firmware finder app and even if it says the firmware is approved for the installation when i verify with IMEI, it fails after (I tried EVA-L09C900B386).
I tried:
- with the in-app proxy, changing my wifi proxy to localhost:8080 and using the default updater
- downloading the package and manually moving UPDATE.APP in dload on my ext sd card.
What i would like to obtain is a full stock huawei p9 phone, so i could get the official android 7 and latest firmware.
Thanks a lot!

Best is to follow this guide and debrand the phone to C432.

U have to downgrade to B182 and then upgrade to B360 FullOTA-MF-PV
When u upgrade to a new Android system u must flash FullOTA-MF-PV
U could try without downgrade first, but u cant upgrade to B397 because its not signed yet by Huawei, B395 ist the latest approved Firmware.

From b182 OTAs will lead up to b395.
b397 OTA is expected any day, meanwhile it can be forced (as well as the newer b398) from b395 by using no-check recovery:

Update:
I reinstalled from b136 => b166 => b182
After that i tried b378 but now my build number is NRD90M test-keys

What country/region are you from?
What is the present firmware version B160 dated?
Firmware Finder (FF) (online version) shows B150 as the latest, so FF's probably not going to help you unfortunately: http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=VIE-L09c627&firmware_page=0
Your only other option may be to convert to another region's ROM, which has received regular updates - e.g. Euro C432 ROM (latest is B382, dated March 2018). But, it's a risky procedure which involves unlocking the bootloader, rooting the phone, changing the vendor country info with SRK Tool, etc, etc.

Which update did you try? If you're still on 4.1, then you should try a much earlier update (i.e. the very 1st 5.0 update) - I'd recommend one of the B361s from here (or via the FF app): http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=VIE-L29C605&firmware_page=0
Always download & apply the FullOTA-MF, in this case ~1.3Gb file size.
Once you have installed B361 successfully, try the B381 update (not the latest B382 as it will not work at this stage most likely). Again, download the FullOTA-MF (1.4Gb) & apply it.

I tried all of the full OTA on FF all them download just fine but every time the phone restarts to install the update for some reason it fails at 1% of the install.

try B202 first
I had an P9+ B130 version and was able to upgrade to B202, which is needed as a stepping stone to MIUI 5. I used FF with the proxy update scheme. The B202 update worked while other versions stopped at verifying the update, which is just what you experienced.

I'm out of luck then it seems that the B354 update is no longer available on FF which is the "steppingstone" in my case.
