Screen burning in G5s Plus? - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Hi guys, I hope you are well, today I come to bring something (I hope it is isolated) about what? yes, to it, what we saw back in the G4 and G4 Plus (also in some G5 and G5 Plus) is there a reason to worry? I do not know honestly, but I wanted to share it with the community, greetings to all!
(It's minimal, I hope you can see it)

Can u elaborate bro? Ok. I checked that. It's really worrying. But there are fix right? Over the net. Is it purely hardware issue? Back to days when I was having nexus 5 i remember my touch was reacting a bit worse when charging. Still useable.

The solution is to use a blue light filter, what it does is hide this problem, but it will still be there, and if, unfortunately, it is a hardware problem, the IPS panels suffer this problem, we only hope that this case will be isolated brother

The burn in is only temporary. Every morning after I wake up the burn in is gone which is good.

[Q] please confirm: very slight backlight flicker in power save mode

Guys,
can you confirm if this is normal please.
i dont recall noticing this on the last 2 HTC Ones i had but then again i have barely used it since i got the first One. Still getting to grips, knowing the device etc.
Its a very very mild backlight flicker like a low refresh rate when power save mode is enabled. i dont think its apparent with it turned off. Not that much discussion of it on the forums so either no one else noticed, it doesnt happen on other Ones and i have a bad backlight?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2175489
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1753677
it appears to be a normal symptom as its the same on the note 2 and s3.
please confirm people.
thanks
you already confirmed it lol

i think its the only time it happens.
i have the same Samsung panel on all HTC Ones phones i have had so probably never noticed it.
I 'might' have noticed it once, not too sure, haven't looked out for it again.
If there is a flicker it'll get sorted out with an update, the HTC One X was a riiiight pain in the bum with this issue, just ask @Hamdir, it was doing people head in.
The HOX thread on it might still be going, take a look.
most devices will flicker one way or another on very low brightness
the One X issue was during normal brightness and was sorted in time (sw)

Xperia Z1 touch screen problem

My touchscreen is really bad right now it has problems sensing touch
Two video examples which are exactly like my problem
1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj1P0X12r_A ----- Start at 0:24
2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0sqwwUoEPc
I thinks it's a software problem since most Xperia Z1 users are having this problem?
Thanks for all your help!
Edit: Apparently many users are having this problem... Just found another vid : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD_PS7EoQI8
In my opinion, its software problem related ..
I mean the sensor maybe need more tweaks and stuffs ..
Anyway, its just my opinion

Alright, thanks for your opinion... I'll try to go back to older firmwares to test wether it is hardware or software related
If this is a hardware problem, Sony will have some BIGGGGGGG trouble
EDIT : Okay, I have just went back to 524 firmware to test and I can confirm that the problem still persists.
As I wrote in the other thread my phone seems fine, tried 5 times. Someone said that it happened when you got in contact with the aluminium.
So I took the phone out of its case and tried, still fine.
More ajour the issue here

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1/xperia-z1-touchscreen-problems/td-p/410611
I've noticed a loss of touch across the right edge of the screen, most noticable when playing candy crush and i want to switch on the far right, but in normal use it's absolutely fine, points to software in this case.
If you want to know if there are problems then download a multi touch app and move your finger across every inch of the screen, if you lose contact you'll know theres a problem and you'll have some tangible evidence when you take it back to the shop.
Im so pissed at this crappy thouch screen.. if i type to fast and not hard enough it wont register it.. aspesially annoying with the spacebar.. its like 50/50 chance its gonna work each time.. is this hardware or software?? Such an high en product and it really sucks.. gonna go back to my s3 if this isnt fixable..

I'm starting to rather dislike Sony now . I can't believe so many problems can be found on a $5998 HKD, HIGH END smartphone . When I first saw an Xperia Z1, I immediately fell in love with it. I decided to save up all my money to get one, for a few months I only used 1/4 of my lunch money for lunch. And then you know what? I end up with a f*cked up touchscreen, bootloader unlocking problems and a yellow, ugly screen that don't want to see anymore. More then 6 of my friends are gonna buy an Xperia Z1 (cuz they saw mine) But I'm gonna make them change their minds and buy something else.
I thinking they assembling the product with different quality hardware for differen continent. I got mine all original and working fine. I just saying.
We are some people on the sonymobile forum with the issue.
I have a brand new Z1 on the Way from the store now.

I have no idea. I have tested like the way of topic's owner does and everything is fine to me
I'm might sell my Z1 for a Nexus 5. Do you guys think it's worth the money or should I wait 1 month for Sony to fix the touchscreen problem?

I'm planning that also. However, I'm still giving my z1 a chance until the kitkat upgrade next yr.. If it really sucked again then it's goodbye sony and choose Nexus from now on.
I have the N5 and trust me, it has it's fair share of problems. The RMA thread is over 40 pages long http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515575&page=40
The speaker is an absolute joke (through headphones it's not bad), the camera once again is subpar and battery life is half of what I get with the Z1. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to like about the N5, just don't get pissed off at Sony and go Nexus and think all your problems will be solved.

You're right, However if switching to another device will solve our main gripe then it would not be so bad. I really dont want to give up on my z1 however it really sucks to have this kind of problem. Everything is working fine, no overheat, wifi issue, black screen, yellow tint. Just this annoying touch problem.

I agree, on a device this expensive it should defect free. I have the yellow screen issue but not the touch problem. The yellow screen is definitely annoying because no screen adjuster I have tried solves the problem. And when you compare it side by side with a N5 or HTC One, you really see just how bad the yellow hue makes the screen look. I guess I can live with it now and hope for a solution but it's a shame there has to be threads like these full of the typical QC problems that Android has become infamous for.

Moto display color issues?

Has anyone else noticed a subtle color change, almost like a flickering when when unlocking the moto display? It is something fast but it does happen and it is getting annoying.

Yes, and it's so miniscule you wouldn't notice unless someone pointed it out.
My opinion: get over it.
I didn't notice such a thing. Not even when you point it out.

Ok i updated moto display, now I see it as well. The normal lock screen appears for a millisecond. The fact that I didn't notice it before the update proves that it wasn't there before and should be fixed easily by Motorola.
For now I deactivated the lockscreen, I never really used it.

Moto G 2nd gen heating up?

I could not find any similar thread so I created a new one.
I got the Moto G (2014) on amazon, it's the US GSM version. The phone was fantastic, nothing I can complain. But it got so warm shortly after surfing webs and taking a few pictures. I feel like the hot part was around the camera, not at the bottom of the phone. Anyone ever faced this issue?
Thanks.
I got this problem too, with simple tasks and smooth games the phone heats up only at the top... Hope Android Lollipop fixes it

If it's due to the software problem, I'm happy. I was afraid the hardware caused it, or the device was defective.
If you had a nexus 4 you will see the heating, this is nothing compared to that one, I only feel heating when use the camera, in the nexus s I had the same problem the smartphone heated to the 50/60ºC if I use more than 2,3 min...
Don't be scared about that, if the smartphone get to ho, will turn off to prevent hardware problems...

USB port broken? stock ROM isnt really capable anymore to handle normal usage smoothly. (in my experience, it lagged heavily after 1-2 days, only reboot helped) I suggest to use a custom ROM.

Concerned about ambient display pocket dialing.

I hadn't thought about the ambient display causing problems like this. I guess it's a concern we should all be aware of. I'd rather not use a pin code to keep this from happening.
Anyone else concerned about this?

I turn on password protection. So if if an accidental press wouldn't bother me.
I never use any extra lock screen protection myself. So I'm kinda concerned.

Not near enough to discourage me from this phone but still slightly annoying to know it could be an issue.

I'd be surprised if folks at Google didn't used proximity sensor to filter noises like this.
Not an issue for me. Never keep phone in pocket but rather death grip on rt hand.

The face detection is an option. I think I read it will work in the background while ur swiping the unlock. I plan on trying it out.

I wonder how much this would affect battery life. Even with a password to prevent unintended calls, opening apps, etc. it would still cause the screen to turn on more often.
From what I understand, ambient display could be turned off. Although I would think that would be the last thing I do. But let's say for kicks that you did turn it off. How would it work without it?

Someone on Reddit posted today that the update that went out yesterday/today fixed the pocket dialing issue. I haven't seen anything official yet or had enough opportunity to test the statement though.
That's interesting. I wonder what changed to fix it. That is, if that's correct.
