I'm facing issues with Google Play music intermittently on pausing the track. Once paused, it doesn't start playing it. The app shows 'playing' (the pipe icon shown) but it actually doesn't play anything. To fix it, the app needs to be closed from recent apps and then has to he started again.
I downloaded Black Player and it also behaves similarly every now and then. Sometimes, the volume becomes so feeble that I can't hear anything below 8 or 10 volume units (of the total 15).
I noticed this after the January security update and am wondering if anyone else is also facing similar issue (on Stock Unrooted ROM)

Has anyone else experienced this? I've Winamp installed on 4.12 and have the notification bar controls enabled (so you can see play pause, skip etc in the notification pull down). Anyway, if I stop the music by pausing, I can also press the X beside it and this makes winamp appear to close and the notifcation goes away, but then it seems to always come back at a random time later on that day, has happened a few times now.
Anyone experienced the same and managed to fix it?
I am having the same issue, but so far haven't been able to find a fix. It is quite annoying and actually makes me consider switching back to the built-in music player. I am using the free version on Android 4.0.3.
Just replying to say I'm still experiencing this and there doesn't seem to have been a fix at all.
Just got my Cloud White 64GB yesterday. Flashed cm-12-20150115-NIGHTLY-shamu.zip. (I've been out of the custom ROM hobby for years now)
I know of the Bluetooth static bug. I've googled and haven't found anything with the issue I'm having.
I have the media volume set at 100% and attempted to test the front facing speakers. The first few seconds of any music track on Google Play Music or Youtube, the audio is loud, then appears to drop to 50-60% even though the volume is still set at 100%. When the track finishes and goes to the next track, the volume is back up to 100% for a few seconds before dropping back down.
I know CM12 is just getting started, but does anyone know of a quick fix for now? If not...well, stock ain't so bad.
Nevermind. Found a bunch of other threads. Seems to happen on stock as well. Anyone out there NOT have this issue whether on stock or custom?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
evening all i have found two strange issues that i haven't resolved through the usually settings checks and tinkering, both issues are related to notifications and i think they are one in the same. when watching YouTube videos if a notification comes in during the video (in full screen mode) the video volume drops as expected for a split second so you know you have a notification however the sound never returns the the same level it remains very quiet? even when turning the volume up and down and back up again its still reduced somehow? if you exit YouTube and go back in to a video it works as normal at normal volume levels until another notification comes in. this is very frustrating and i am not sure how to stop this?
has anyone got any suggestions?
secondly i think this is related to the above but when listening to music (both via earphone or loudspeaker) when a notification comes in it stops the music and does not reestablish it? i am using poweramp as my music app and the only way to start the music again is to unlock phone and start the app? (not good when driving).
again both would seem to be related but i can not find a way to stop the above? if anyone can shed any light please let me know whilst i continue searching, thanks in advance.
Within the last week or so I've noticed an issue with YouTube Music and YouTube where every so often the sound cuts out for a second or so. I've only noticed this when using the phone's speakers and not when connected to AA. I don't recall it happening via Bluetooth, but I can't remember for sure. Anyone else experiencing this?
Latest security update seems to have fixed it.
I got the OTA and one of the issues I ran into was actually listening to any media app ( Spotify, Youtube, YT Music, etc. ). Whenever I turn the screen off, the audio stops and when you wake the screen to unlock it has a terrible slowdown. I tried this in Safe mode and even factory reset and the issue is still there. I does not happen with the screen on if you're watching a video, etc. only when the screen goes off. Anyone else having this problem?
Edit: I think I found and workaround for this and was driving me crazy cause I listen to a lot of podcast/music whie driving Go to settings/system/developer options/default usb configuration/ and switch it to " no data transfer ". DO NOT tick any other option.
Yes, I am having the same problem, and since I use a wired headset for work calls all day, this is a significant problem.
Your work-around appears to work, but this needs to get fixed.
I have the exact same problem on my Pixel 6 since the March update, identical symptoms including the massive slowdown, and it's infuriating. While doing tests to try to find a work around it suddenly also blasted to 100% volume for some reason causing hearing damage.
April update fixed this issue.
