Hey there!
Im having trouble with uninstalling magisk because it sends me into boot loop all the time.
Now i came up with the idea to flash the boot.img with the help of TWRP myself after using the latest magisk uninstaller. But that sends me into boot loop too and i realy wonder how that can be because its the boot.img ive found in the AP.tar of that rom ive currently installed.
I realy dont understand this :crying:
anyone that can help wth that?
thanks for your time and answer!
Greetings
Chris
Flashing the stock boot image is the right idea and should work. Not always though and Samsung and Huawei seem to be common devices.
A dirty flash of your ROM might work. But, it's probably best to ask in your device's forum. Might be you need some specific process...

All you have to do is revert to an older version of clockworkmod, I used version 6.0.12 I believe.
the file name is: CWM6012-CM9-recovery so it might be that. Yep that's it, now i can finally rest

The title says it all.
I tried to install a custom rom on my Galaxy s plus and I figured i'd need cwm, so I got the latest, installed it through the default recovery.
And now it keeps booting into the recovery and I can't get the stock back.
So I still tried to install a custom rom, though it keeps booting into cwm.
Can anyone give me a hand with this? I will need my phone today, so I would really appreciate any help I can get.
I own a One X, though it is at the repairs and now I messed up my only usable phone

I've been using TWRP ever since I have rooted mt ONE. Over the last few days its been crashing while trying to install any zips at all.I can do a nandroid restore but nothing else. When I try to install any file it just goes to a black screen and reboots the phone.
Any ideas of what could be causing this and how to repair it also.
Thanks
I've also just replaced TWRP with clockwork mod touch and that is doing the same thing. I am now at a stage where I cannot install anything via the recovery method.
What is my bet options for starting afresh as my phone is unlocked with HTC dev and rooted also.
I'd like to go back to the beginning and start again.
Thanks

This seems to becoming a more and more recurrent event, though I cannot say for what the correct solution is, check these two threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2435499
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423817
one of them had to fix a corrupt partition, the other just reflashed and wiped again and again, and it worked.
If something works out for you do share!!
Thanks for that,I'll redownload my favourite Rom and try again without trying to update the Kernel, everything was fine as I remember before I tried the kernel update.
I'll let you know how I get on in a while.

Though the reasons are still unclear (at least to me ), it seems that flashing a custom kernel while still in recovery immediately after the ROM does work. Of course, make sure you're flashing a compatible kernel to the ROM; the version numbers of the custom kernels do not correspond to the ROM versions, and I've seen some that flashed an incompatible kernel, just because the version numbers looked similar.
Good luck & keep us posted
PS: If you do solve it, please update the main thread title to include [SOLVED]. thanks
Thanks for the two links, after reading them and doing a fresh install off my rom. Wiping cache, delvick and data I seem to be able to install zips again from recovery without the black screen and reboots.
Yep, so far all the zips that failed earlier are now installing.
A BIG THANK YOU :good::good:

Dear experts, I have seen similar threads as with the issue I am facing but I wasnt sure of few parts and if the process as a whole could work for me.
Here's what I know and what the problem is all about, appreciate any help to get back the phone in working condition.
First the basics:
HTC first
GSM unlocked, Bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed
I wanted to delete and format the device as I intended to give this to my friend and I did go to TWRP menu and then clicked on advanced wipe etc and realized I did erase everything the phone needs even to bootup. This I have done without taking backup.
What it looks like now:
When I boot the device out from TWRP, the 'F' logo comes up and stays like that for ever. If I go to TWRP pressing the power and volume down together, it goes to the TWRP menu and thats it..no options seem to help me on this screen to go past the 'F' logo at startup. If I simply power down the device on the 'F' screen it restarts and goes to the same screen making it look like its in a loop. Not sure if this is called soft-brick or hard-brick but it looks like the phone is of no use to me right now.
Can you guys please help me with resolving the problem..any help will be much appreciated

Well then you'll have to make sure you flash the boot.IMG as well,
So what you'll do is
1) find the stock ROM around these threads
2) sideload the ROM
3) flash it
4) flash the boot.IMG inside the rom
5) you're done!
Understanding what s-on/off won't be of use here really d:
And the stock ROM is somewhere around these threads. About the side loading you might find a tutorial for that on YouTube. Sorry if it seems that I'm just leaving you in the dust but I am typing this in a hurry since it's 2:50 am at my place. I will be back to whip up a tutorial for you if YouTube wasn't of much help
Okay
Let me try my best till its like a more sociable time for you tomm morning, I will post my updates on the thread on how far I go and any questions I may have..

Yeah, just be sure not to wonder off too far from these threads on to other forums and flash or do something that can brick the device
Oh and btw I edited my post bc I saw your othe reply stating that you aren't all that too advanced with this
boot.img
I should be finding the boot.img on the stock ROM itself, isnt it..?

That's correct. Unzip the ROM and it should be there
This is how far I could get
Got all stock ROM and the IMG files, installed android SDK
ADB doesnt recognize the device to copy the file for sideloading
Guess issue is with the fact USB debugging was disabled earlier on my device
Can you please advise further
Is it better to chat on google chat or something so its even faster and I could get this fixed tonight (my time)
Thank you
Finally got it fixed
Thanks for the help..it all worked fine and the device is now working fine..
Thanks for all the guidance

wait a sec...you dont have a rom or kernel on your device at the moment right?
then there is no way to turn on usb debug on or off cause there is nothing managing the device.
um...use cmd and do adb devices. if its not there then i have no idea but if fast-boot goes into usb mode try flasing it using code
not sure what you would use, but see if "fastboot flash update nameofROM.zip"
but im not sure if that is the right code
stock rom for htc first

can you please provide a tutorial and and all the link because i m kinda noob . I am unable to find them .
Okay. so after hours of searching and reading about unbricking my nexus 6. I am lost, and very desperate.
So, I unlocked my bootloader, and rooted my phone today using chainfire cf auto root. and all went well. The primary reason I did this was to edit the build.prop file to enable wifi tethering, and this is where my problems started. Using root explorer I added
HTML:
net.tethering.noprovisioning=true
to the end of the build.prop file. I rebooted and now I'm stuck in a bootloop on the google screen.
I did not have a custom recovery installed, so flashing a new rom isn't that easy. I have looked into flashing twrp or cwm from the stock recovery adb sideload feature, but I haven't gotten this figured out either.
So that brings me to where I am at now. I still have an unlocked bootloader, which I guess is leaving me some options, but I just don't know where to go to find information which isn't going to further muck this situation up.
Help, please. I don't have a backup phone. And I am getting desperate.
Thanks in advance
Reboot to the bootloader, flash stock system.img

very first off.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/attention-questions-t3228454
meaning, you wont get help if tou do ont post it in the right place.
secondly, you have two choices, flash twrp then flash a rom, or flash the factory image(just system.img). what your pro lem is tgat you used a toolkit, instead of learning thd very easy proper way. now you dont know how to do things. its rwally easy to flash twrp via fastboot, and its very easy to flash a factory image using fastboot as well. now ill ask a mod to move your thread into the correct area..
thanks

i just saw, it was your first post. i didnt mean to sound rude, for that im sorry.
but you have your answer(s). your phone isnt bricked, its just without os. and the os can be flashed, even using a toolkit.
Hi Im feeling really bad to my stomach as Im typing this.
I was trying to enable camera 2 api and Dolby atmos.
I flashed TWRP and booted into it (so I could install zips and for it to go back to stock recovery afterwards so I can get OTA)
I tried installing the camera 2 enabler but it didnt work, the Dolby one did work though.
But when i hit reboot it just stuck on that Mi logo, please please help!
I tried going back to TWRP and flashed the TWRP image as recovery (I figured it didnt want to boot because it didnt recognize the recovery) but still nothing.
I really dont want to have to erase everything. I didnt do a backup :crying:
Im running the latest stock global rom btw.
Edit2; Bootloader is unlocked, the phone is NOT rooted.
Is there a way I can prevent data from being lost? I can enter TWRP and I see there is a "BACKUP" option, can I maybe save some of my data? Im guessing my most important stuff is my Whatsapp convos and pictures. I have a USB OTG I can connect to it too.
I am desperately updating this thread in hope for someone to reply and searching MAO for any solution
UPDATE, I did it!
If anyone is as NOOB as I was, please, its even written on the TWRP WEBSITE WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD THE THING. YOU NEED TO DISABLE DM-VERITY. THIS IS EASILY DONE BY FLASHING LAZYFLASHER!
Im almost embarressed.
Dear Mod, feel free to do whatever with this thread, even though you guys didnt have the time to help it still felt comfortable knowing that you are out there somewhere caring. <3
