Emui 8.0 C432 B360 Bugs.... - Huawei P10 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

We waited so long for Emui 8.0 but now after instaling of first official version B360 for EU region C432 I noted a lot of bugs (switching portait landscape mode brightnees is changing especually in Youtube but also in other video apps, tapatalk and swift keyboard have some conflict, wearher app doesnt sync on wifi, etc) . It looks like such a beta version. Next day after Ota releasing on Firmware finder I found some small updates with fixes of bugs but those updates have same number B360.... What in hell happening here.....

Noob update help

I had a Vodafone UK branded P9 on EVA-L09C02B127
EMUI 4.1 Android 6.0
I've just downloaded and tried to update to EVA-L09C02B341
Which I think is EMUI 5 Android 7.0
but fails when installing, there's loads of different builds and I dunno what am doing wrong or which build I should be installing
I'm roughly in the same situation as you... Tried different methods of installation and nothing is working.
Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk
I had to update to L09C02B137 first then update to L09C02B339 then to 440 and 441.

Best ROM to flash on EVA-L09 ?

Hello guys, I bought my Huawei P9 back in December 2016 and since then I only used official EMUI 4.1, official EMUI 5.0 and I am currently using the NewWorld-7 by Tecalote, but I am now looking to change this.
I need you guys to suggest me the "best" if I can say ROM out there for the P9, kinda doesn't matter the version. Only a few notes: The ROM must have a working Camera, GPS, Fingerprint, Bluetooth, etc. (as much things working as possible).
Because I want the ROM to have as less bugs as possible I am thinking of installing the official ROM, probably B378 (or whatever the latest version was), but I want to keep my root access on the other hand, so I'm also thinking about dkionline's "mOOnlight ROM v1.0 B378 Stock", but the thing is that as far as I'm concerned, on Custom ROMs, the PlayStore isn't updating and this is important for me, because I am modding my games a lot and the latest version of the PlayStore is required.
One thing in EMUI 5 that I hate is the lockscreen when using Spotify. I have no problem about the thing being small (in EMUI 4 it takes the whole screen), but atleast the controls to be working properly (people who used Spotify and B362 or whatever the first official B3XX build was will undestand).
So well, suggest me what ROM to install

p9 plus as a replacement - basic questions maybe faq

just got my hands on a good used p9 plus as a replacement for broken moto lux.
i am impressed by the build quality and the refreshing miui ui on the first look.
dont know so much about the phone, tried to look up information but still a little bit confused.
Still on march security patch after two ota updates.
Got the VIE-L09C432B370 version.
Which part of the build number is the one I can use to look up more information? Cant find any faq.
Any way to update to an actual security patch?
Is there a gcam modded apk for the exynos?
Is magisk officially supported?
If not, what the best way to root?
Is miui in some way customizable? Always had pure android or custom aosp roms.
Thanks for your help!
Ok, so:
1- VIE means vienna, phone's codename. L09 is the variant, it means single sim. CXXX is the region/brand, in your case C432 means europe no brand. B370 in the firmware version.
2- there should be out there an ota out there with November patch, if you can't find it or if you want to update faster look for firmware finder: you'll find a lot of guides on the internet.
3- the CPU is not an exyons, is a kirin, and no there's gcam apk, but the official software is pretty good expecially when it comes to full manual controls.
4- iirc, no
5- install twrp and flash supersu zip, you can find a guide here on xda
6- actually the UI name is EMUI, miui is xiaomi's rom name. There are some themes out there, check the emui themes community on G+, you'll find something more interesting than what you find on the theme app.

HUAWEI announcement Android 8.0

Will the P10 and P10 Plus get the latest Android 8.0 update? Huawei just published an update which I saw on Google cards stating that the FF devices will receive Android 8.0:
Mate 8
P9 and P9 Plus
Nova 2
Nova 2i
Nova Youth.
I am pretty disappointed by this as the Mate 9 received its update already, while the high-end P10 doesn't have any news for it.

Mhhh, Android versions do not add substantial features lately. Oreo added Treble, but it's optional. Other changes are hidden to the user and not really relevant, often go against users convenience or will.
EMUI on the other hand did progress a bit more. Version 5 is usable (still did not try 8), although several much needed features are still missing. IE, selectable amount of columns/rows in launcher (this, among other tweaks are provided with kangvip in P10), but it's hard to understand corporations decisions...
Summarizing, MM is fine, you are not missing much.
The really good news about Oreo is that kernel sources are not broken now (as they were when Nougat sources were published), so kernel development could make a difference now. We 'only' need an active kernel dev now

HiSuite Desktop App, no rollback option.

I am currently on 9.0.0.157 with the recent December 2018 security patch. I want to rollback to EMUI 8.2 since EMUI 9 is full of **** (Widwine L3 and many other ****). However, clicking update on the HiSuite desktop app would only say that there my version is up to date and I could not see a button for me to install a previous version as it supposed to have.
Anyone else experiencing this?
same for me
