Hi. I could not find something about this (maybe i overlooked it):
My Problem is with the Kindle Fire HD (3Gen, 2013) that I cannot get a Microphone working.
I rooted it and installed Android 7.1 (Evervolv) on it. I want to use it in my car with Headunit Reloaded (android Auto emulator). I can get it to work with Wiifi connection but the google Assistant features only work if the tablet has a Mic. I looked into it and I know there is no mic in it. So I tried with IPhone/Android Headsets and Bluetooth Headset. No success. I saw on the device Page, that Bluetooth Mics don't work with the Kindle. But as I am Using a custom Rom I thought that it could be possible. Is it a hardware issue? Does anyone have a Microphone working
Also I tried an external sound card with an OTG cable. This works on Samsung Galaxy S7. So the cable works. The Kindle does not recognise the device. Also the OTG could be used for Headunit reloaded. Success between Samsung S7 and S8, but not on the Kindle.
Sorry if there is a Thread about something like this, but I could not find it

I'm having an odd issue with my nook hd+ running 10.1. I have a Chinese bluetooth mouse (no pairing number) which pairs and works quite well, but if the screen times out the mouse stops working and the nook doesn't seem to recognize it again. I have to unpair the mouse, reboot, and repair the mouse (obviously a pain).
1) is there some easy fix?
2) why is it happening?
Have you tried using different bluetooth accessories with success or failure? Have you tried using that mouse with a different bluetooth host?
I have a bluetooth logitec keyboard that seems to work without error, but I'm not using it 24/7.
Has anyone tried using the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse with CM or Carbon?
It works fine with my zagg keyboard (same hardware as the logitech, though the drivers seem to be different), a bluetooth receiver, and a couple other items. The mice (e-bay generic bluetooth mice from China) work fine with Windows 7 and worked very well when I had a Samsung tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich. As I said, they pair but the HD Plus just stops responding to them. I've had Carbon Mod and CWM 10.1 on it and the same thing happens.
I'll try a namebrand bluetooth mouse at some point, but it's just sort of odd. In the meantime, I'm finding that with a touchscreen and a stylus, a mouse isn't exactly necessary. cuttinig and pasting's really pretty easy with a stylus on both Kingsoft Office and Textmaker (it's a pay app but it's been by far the best word processor I've found for Android).
I see online that kindle fire can use the mouse by the otg, I try in the kindle fire hd7, It doesn't work.
Has anyone tried Bluetooth mouse?

The original fire (I believe) had the ability to utilize USB OTG, but the newer ones (HD, hdx) can not. This is no doubt a restriction set in place by Amazon. :/
As to your question about Bluetooth mice, I have not personally tried them, but hopefully someone else here has.
Pretty sure I tried a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard a while back and it worked... The kfhd will never support otg it lacks the power out so it is a hardware problem.

I'm having a strange problem. I recently bought an USB OTG cable to use my PS3 controller on my Moto G.
The phone is rooted, but the stock 5.0.2 ROM (22.26.1.titan_retde.redeall.en.DE retde) hasn't been altered otherwise.
So, when I plug in the PS3 controller via the USB OTG cable, the controller immediately starts charging (slow blink of all 4 leds), but I can't do anything else. I though Android was supposed to support the PS3 controller out of the box?
I tested the cable, it works fine. I connected my Kingston 16GB flash drive, it was automatically mounted and I could access it with Root Explorer.
I also tried the PS3 controller and cable with my Samsung Galaxy S4 (stock android 4.4.2, unrooted) - the controller works perfectly. A Logitech RumblePad 2 which I had lying around also works like a charm on the S4, but doesn't do anything on the Moto G.
So the problem has to be either the Moto G itself or (probably) Android Lollipop.
Did anybody else have a similar problem? Can anybody help me?
P.S.: I don't want to use the PS3 controller over BT, reason for that see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/bluetooth-vs-wifi-t3046293

I have the same problem you have buddy, except in my case it's a generic gamepad but the problem is the same: missing drivers, you could compile the driver easily but there seems to be a problem with lollipop kernel sources (in kitkat it worked fine). Anyways when the problem is solved i will compile the drivers, check out this thread btw, we are trying to solve this problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/help/gamepad-joystick-otg-support-t2995943

Thank! After I posted this thread I found the one you linked, and already have it in my bookmarks. I hope somebody will find a solutions.
Unfortunately I'm bad at coding, so I can't really contribute. I'm just baffled, that Android gets "worse" with every new version (at least in my eyes). Why did they break something which was working perfectly before?

It's not exactly like that, in fact motorola has never enabled those drivers on kitkat nor on lollipop. What i did was to compile those drivers and they worked (on kitkat) but now when i try to do the same it doesn't work on lollipop, my guess is that there's something wrong with lollipop kernel sources
Oh, I didn't know that. I thought this was something Android-related (like it is so basic, all Androids should have it), not something that each manufacturer has to integrate himself.
Okay, I've searched and searched and I can't figure this out. I have an original Xbox controller (with USB OTG cable) that works on four of my Android devices, but not on my Galaxy Tab S2. And when I mean "it works", I mean that I simply plug it in and I can use the controller to move around the screen. I don't have to install anything. Is there something I'm missing to get it to work? I couldn't find anything in the Settings. I tried a USB Device Info app, which showed that it can see the controller. I also experimented with the USB/BT Joystick Center 2015 app and it also saw the controller. So I don't think there is anything wrong with my controller or OTG cable. Before I spend anymore days working on this, I need a sanity check that I'm not missing something obvious.
It works on:
(2) Nexus 7 (2012) tablets with Android 4.4.4
(2) Galaxy S5 phones with Android 5.0
Does not work on Galaxy Tab S2 with Android 5.1.1
None are rooted.
Thanks,
Chris
I have a new Pixel2XL and am frustrated trying to make Android Auto work. All was fine with Apple Carplay and my iPhone 6s (this is actually my 2nd Pixel2XL as I went back for the 128GB model when the $300 sale came along after I'd purchased the 64GB).
Anyway, bluetooth isn't working well. And I'm being told this is a long-known issue with Android that Google is still "working on". Since it's happened with both phones, it's either Android 8.x or a long-running, unresolved issue.
I'd like to disable bluetooth, but I'm being told that's how the Phone works in the car. Can the phone be moved to the USB cable?
One other question, when connected by USB cable, are non-AA compatible audio apps using bluetooth or the cable?
Thanks.

No, as far as I know you have to have Bluetooth & USB cable connected for AA to work properly. Ref

Don't know about your second question, but on my car non AA apps don't work when AA is active.
That's been my experience, yes. I'm having bluetooth issues regardless. So depending on it in the car is frustrating and even dangerous if I try to disconnect/restart/etc. while driving.
But I did just receive the 8.1.0 update and I'll be in and out of the car today. So, crossing my fingers that something will work better!
Thanks for the reply!
