Good afternoon!
Any thought on this? My watch suddenly starting having this issue (weeks after the warranty expired). I had my watch on the charger for a couple of days, battery indicator (powered off) shows 100%. I try to turn it on and it dies between the LG logo and the Google circles. If it's on the charger, it will fully boot. I have reset to factory and cleared the partition cache. I am able to get into the bootloader just fine, and it doesn't appear to die when I'm in there. I contacted the Google Store support and LG support, Google sent me to LG without any troubleshooting, and LG offered a quote to repair ($65), also without any troubleshooting, so I'm wondering if this is a known issue. Anyone else have this issue and were able to solve it?
Thanks!
Sign of dead battery
Mine did the same thing... I had to send mine in for warranty repair... Since yours is out you might see if you can find a cell phone repair shop that can do it or try the repair yourself
I am having the same problem. I'm wondering if it really is the battery or some other problem. Did you use the LG online "Repair Request" website to get the quote?
https://lgmobilerepair.com/request_repair
Be warned. There's a good chance they'll screw up your watch. I sent mine in, they replaced the battery and I got it back and the screen went out shortly after.
I sent it in for replacement yet again and now I've got it back and my Watch Sport is freezing on me, which seems to be a messed up firmware (and judging by this forum, I can't do anything about it). LG's repair service is absolutely awful.
Seriously considering a different watch because of this.
I have the exact same issue as OP. Mine lasted 1 year and 3 months. You would think that a watch that costs almost $400 would last longer. ?
i had the exact same problem... 1 year and 1 month
lg charged me the 70 bucks to repair/replace the embedded battery, however it is working as it should for now.
Lithium batt life is about : 5 years, 300 charges cycle.
With watch like LG-Sport with horrible battery drain, about 8% by hour with normal use, I charge it 2 or 3 times at day. So you can use almost 1.5 cycles by day, so for 300 cycles it last 200 days. So battery can died on less than 1 year
With a watch like my G-Watch with 50% batt at end of the day it have just 0.5 cycle by day and can last 600 days. (if you use every day every time)
I've had the same issue, I can't believe I have a $400 paper weight! Battery drains at almost exactly 10% per hour. I have disconnected my watch from my phone, shut down NFC, bluetooth and wifi. Basically turning into a wearable phone with no other functionality, it doesn't matter. Really turns me off to wearables in general.
If anyone is still having this issue, we have a thread over at Wear OS by Google Community - "LG Watch Sport switches off randomly"
Go check it out, we're posting updates as they come in from LG.

Okay, so.. I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II 4G.
I have it rooted with the root stock from this thread.
With that said, I've had this phone rooted for several months now. Since January or so. Over the course of that time, the phone has run without fault for months. Recently, I've had issues with my battery draining (as well as charging) far more quickly than it used to. I assumed this was an issue with the battery, because there was a slight bulge in it, so I bought a replacement battery that came yesterday. I charged it full (until the phone said it was 100%), from about 5% charge. It took the normal time (as the phone did when it was new) to charge, of just over 2 hours. It died almost completely about 2 1/2 hours later. Currently, I have my phone charging and it's at right around 90%, after just over an hour of charge from 20%. It used to take far longer to both charge, as well as die. What the Hell is going on?
Just a few notes:
This is not the result of heavy usage (for power drain). I say this because even as the phone was idle while I slept, it died on its own accord sometime throughout the night.
My bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS are almost always off, unless I'm using one of them for some purpose, and I haven't used any of those things since the new battery was installed.
There are no applications running in the background, aside from Facebook. I know this because I'm using Advanced Task Killer to kill everything, and it keeps showing Facebook as if it's opening itself for some reason. This is another issue I'm concerned with, so if anyone knows why or how to remedy this, I'd be appreciative of knowing. Otherwise I'm likely to just delete this unnecessary application.
This is not an issue where the phone is reading an incorrect charge over an extended period. It literally is dying and charging faster than normally.
When the phone is rebooted, whether it be through "Restart" (app from Google Play), via the phone Power key, or removal of the battery, the phone drops around 20% battery life when the restart is complete. The absolute reverse happens (it gains 20%) when restarting with the phone plugged into an AC charger.
Is it possible that this has something to do with the root being outdated, or maybe something updated and I'm unaware? I sincerely have no idea what's going on, as this is the first phone I've ever rooted before. I'm sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give as much information as possible.
It sounds like the battery you bought may be defective. Send it back and get a different one.
Yea sounds like you bought a defective battery. Where did you buy it from? Talk to them and see if they'll send a replacement or get another one from elsewhere

One week ago I bought new galaxy tab s 8.4 lte version.
Box opened, turned on tablet and...strange thing...battery was down to 4%...generally a new device has more residual power...
Anyway, i charged it all night for ten hrs.
Turned on again and 100% charge.
Everything runned ok for almost two days...then my tablet started to reboot randomly under 50% charge without no reason. No overheat, no strange app, no cpu stress. Just browsing internet, using facebook, sliding app drawer.
When it rebooted again charge was at 12%. Rebooted again...charge at 62...then 32%...and so on...
Maybe a battery calibration issue. So I decided to restore to default settings. Did it for 3 times...same behaviour...under 50-40% tablet started to reboot randomly.
Rapidly returned back to the store and changed with another one.
No problems at the moment, battery drain is regular with no "jumps".
Maybe it was just a defective battery but it was a very unpleasant experience.
Hope this is just an isolated event.
Well It doesn't sound normal for this Tablet .hope you get a better taste with your newly exchanged Tab.
Not sure which store sold you the tablet, but a "new" device would not be down to 4% on the battery on initial start-up.
Makes you wonder if the tablet was previously returned as defective and the store sold it to you anyways. Hopefully that wasn't the case.
Here's hoping your replacement tablet will work as advertised!

All the samsung original seals on the box were intact so I think that it was simply a defective battery.
The new tablet was at 45% charge when unboxed.
Fortunately no strange reboot for now...[emoji6]
there are a case here when some user having nearly the same problem. and he's kind of open the back cover himself to discover that the battery connector are not seal properly. yours might be in the same case.

That has battery connection problem. Maybe u got the 'QC Failed' batch like mine... i sent to Samsung but it got worst. Could not even turn it on. So i DIY it since i am rooted and the warranty does not cover rooted device. And my battery is no longer like what u r going through. If u are not rooted, go for an exchange.
Read this thread i linked, is how we fix the battery problem..

I'm glad to hear everything is working as it should with your replacement tablet.
Perhaps this will help someone else who has the same problem as me...I can not claim to have solved the problem myself. I got some wonderful information from this thread in the Gear 2 forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758364
So, if you're experiencing battery drain in excess of 15-20% per hour, that would pretty much make your device completely unusable as you'd drain the battery in about 5 hours as mine was doing. I tried everything, including even replacing my battery thinking it was a bad battery. To see if you're having the same issue, try disabling your Bluetooth connection on the Gear. If you notice you're battery doesn't drain nearly as quickly, you might have the same problem that I had. Here's how I fixed it...
I saw that according to the thread linked above, the problem is most likely the "goproviders" app. I tried clearing cache and clearing data through the "Application Manager" in settings on the Gear. That didn't help. I also investigated the "saproviders" app. Tried clearing cache and data in Application Manager as well. Nothing there either.
I went back into application manager and compeltely uninstalled both goproviders as well as saproviders. I did nothing else. The Gear Manager application notices that these applications are missing and will automatically re-download and re-install them. I'm guessing my original download must have somehow been corrupted. Once these new versions were downloaded and reinstalled, I rebooted my Gear and then re-enabled Bluetooth. Now, my mattery drain using the Tizen Mod 3.0 ROM is roughly 2% every 1.5 hours with bluetooth on, brightness set to 2, and motion enabled.
Just as an FYI, I know the linked thread addresses non-Samsung phones but this fixed my Gear's connectivity to my Note 2 using the SkyNoteAir G2 ROM.
I hope someone else finds this useful.

I thought that fixed it for me at first, but it rather quickly went back to an 8% (or sometimes more) per hour battery drain. I tried all the other recommended fixes -- older versions of Gear Manager, wiping from Recovery, and various combinations, with no joy. Finally, after a few days of not using my Gear, I noticed several hours after turning it on one morning that it had never connected to my Note 4. Yet its battery life was still draining at 8% or so per hour. So, at least in my case, it doesn't appear to have anything to do with Gear Manager -- its either Tizen itself or (more likely) some preinstalled app that is sucking up the battery. I'm probably going to end up rooting Tizen and uninstalling a few things unless someone has a better idea. I can't imagine the stock Tizen install on a disconnected Gear would drain the battery like that, and not do it on everyone's, disconnected or no.
nobody has a battery monitoring application for Tizen? it would be a good thing ... I also tried everything and my gear starts to lose 9-10% per hour after a little while ... For info : I'm with a note 2 on DN4, it's was the same on 4.4.2...
I rooted and tried uninstalling a couple of things -- S Health, the pedometer. Same high rate of drain, and I can't think of any other app that might diminish battery life to this extent. I've now flashed the TizenMod 3.0 ROM, but I still have the same rate of drain (even though that ROM has a battery saving script built in).
So if it's not Gear Manager, and it's (apparently) not an app, it's probably something deeper because the only constant is the NF1 FW (the TizenMod ROM is based on that). I see from the samsung-updates.com firmware archive that there are a couple of newer FW versions -- NK1, released in November, and OA2, released last month. The available OA2 versions, however, are for Kazakhstan, Hungary, Germany, and Slovakia (plus the mysterious "SIO" region). Although I'm in the US, there's an NK1 version for the UK, so I'm going to try loading that and see what happens.
EDIT: updating to the NK1 version for the UK (which otherwise works fine) still results in high battery drain. At this point I'm wondering if Occam's Razor applies here -- maybe, at least in my case, it's just the battery itself.
FURTHER EDIT 2 days later: It's got to be the battery. I noticed that even when turned off, the battery is still draining. It comes off the charger at 100%, I don't turn it on, and less than an hour later it's at 91% -- without ever having been turned on.
YET FURTHER EDIT: It indeed was the battery. Replacing it brought new life to my Gear. Yay. Unfortunately, the battery cost $40 shipped (and required slightly more effort than, say, removing the back cover on a Note 4), but what are you going to do.

Hello,
were where you able to order a replacement battery. I have been unable to find one. Any help please and thank you.

Guys, I went to Vodafone store (they have Samsung service) and I complained there about battery life. They sent my watch for repair. 5 days later I got it with motherboard and battery replaced! No need to do it yourself. Watch has 2 years warranty.
Thanks Thanks Thanks
Same issue, same thing - it was the battery. Unfortunately, my battery had swollen up causing the watch to turn off every time i put it on my wrist. Opened it up to see if it was a bad connection, and found my battery had swolen up to nearly twice it's normal size. At least I got warning before it decided to vent with fire onto my wrist.
Found the battery via ebay, should be here in a few days. (here's the ebay item if anyone needs it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331347265389 )
Galaxy Gear S battery drain
I was loosing 15% per hour on my Galaxy Gear S and for the life of couldn't figure it out. All the literature said it would last for 2 days. I even asked the tech guys at Best Buy. They couldn't help me. However, I think I have stumbled upon the answer. I typically dont have the GPS locator service on my samsung note 3 phone turned on. When its on, it drains my phone battery faster than usual. However, when I turn it on, my Galaxy Gear S Smart Watch battery improves dramatically. The phone battery went from losing 15% per hour to about 3 to 4 percent per hour.

Was having similar issues. Noticed that my screen was separating from the metal bezel and decided to open it up. The battery was swolen, good thing it didn't catch fire on my arm.

I went to Sonera (Finnish carrier) store few months ago when the battery life of my Gear dropped to around 17 hours even when turned off and they said that the warranty for the battery is 6 months so I would have to pay to have it changed. Preordered Gear S2 the same day but I'm still waiting for it
Z1 lollipop 5.1.1
build n. 14.6.A.1.236
kernel ver. 3.4.0-perf-gd26777b-00851-ga8b7b55 19 november 2015
It all happened a month ago, after an update, the phone battery registered low and the device reboted, and for the first time in the phone history, I saw, at boot, the "app optimization" dialogue, that kept chewing at what battery life was left.
So, I replaced the battery;
at first start, all seemed OK till I hit an app (whatsapp I think) and the phone displaied the low battery warning and went down.
Same, after a full recharge, when pressing the camera hardware button.
Oh, I also had the discrepancy between the charging icon , which reported 100% charge, and after maybe 10min. 50% and, you know the story.
Now, at the very moment I am writing, after a full charge, 24 hours ago, the phone, without the sim and the SD cards, but left on, registers a charge of 93% (only wireless on, to invite some disharge); of course I cannot check the watsapp, but I took some pics, and the phone stays on.
What do you reckon, I am bugged, as android 5.1.1
should I hang on the phone, which, by the way, performs(ed) pretty well, even though marsmallow is not an option, with the 2GB mem. at least in a bog standard state (i.e. not rooted)?
Thanks
A little update: after two more hours, I started using the browser, and after viewing a couple of pages, the phone swiched itself off.
Now, the charging icon, visible, when phone is off, show a 1% charge.
So, the software battery meter, must be well off the mark?
Last addiction: after an hour, the status light is green (phone charged?) and the charge icon, displays a 100% level.
It's your say, now.
I have this problem and battery replace didnt solve anything here too, but I'm on nougat. I hope someone know a solution for this.. But I think It is some kind of hardware problem.
Little update: after recharging, I switched the phone up and let it play some video on youtube;
well, after maybe half an hour, it went down, and as soon as I plugged the charger in, the icon showed 80% charge, which I allready experienced, dismissing it had a fawlty reading, but, with some afterthought , would be in line with the actual battery drainage ( remember that without any activity it stays on indefenetly) and is, as if, some internal mechanism -either hardware or software, is programmed to switch it off at that precise level.
Just a thought, is there somewhere, the level of battery disharge can be set, at our discretion before the device shuts off, say 15%?
I do not seem to find this specific setting, currently.
It is less credible, as time goes by, to think of it as a specific device/brand problem, given the fact that all the major players ware, seems to be affected, and allowing for differences in platforms, the common denominator would appear to be the software itself.
Exact same problem
Some time ago, I replaced my Xperia SP's battery.
The "used, like new" battery I ordered was as bad as the one that was to be replaced, maybe even worse.
I complained, got another-one. This other battery works great.
Remember: There are no "new" batteries out there, just used-ones.
Some are still good, some are dead.
I don't know where replacement batteries that are new should come from... Sony has never sold them as spare parts. I don't know of any company that produces batteries for Sony phones and sells these batteries on the open market.
I only know of third party spare parts for iPhones. Apple has sold only like 20 different models since 2006.
Sony? More like 100.
Producing third party spare parts just isn't profitable in this case. That's the reason why there aren't any.
Any seller who claims to offer "new" batteries lies. At least if he didn't take them from some never used devices.
I'd be HAPPY to be proven wrong because I also need a new battery for my Z1.
Besides, it's no wonder all our phones' batteries die at the same time. They are all the same age and have had more or less the same amount of charging cycles.
Also, it's no wonder they all die the same way (suddenly empty).
They all (more or less) came out of the same factory.
It's like with cars, same model, same problems.
A Peugeot 206 always has problems with the Zylinderkopfdichtung (don't know the English word, the rubber thingy in the motor that keeps water from mixing with oil), some stuff with the wheels or the exhaust flies off because of rust... for the third time in 5 years...

Your allegations, are worth investigating.
[solved]
Very important updates.
There seems to be an "xperia battery bug" which kicks in at every battery change.
After having done all the calibration stuff, I re-opened the phone and took the battery connector off, while the phone was on.
Then, did the same, with the phone off.
After three or four days in which the phone did not seem able to start, (rebooted at the first stages of switching on) the phone magically booted up with, and what's more important there was no dicrepancy, between the battery charge level, shown when you plug in the charger, with phone switched off, and the charge level presented by the software, once the phone is on.
So, do not give up your still worth device!
Only thing I noticed now, is a sligtly faster battery consumption, even in stamina mode;
could it be related with the post above?
Maybe a new custom ROM could fix the problem, now that the phone seems stable.
Similar problem.
Phone shuts down when 2 to 3 apps are working simultaneously. It first heats up and then suddenly dies.
Secondly, it sometimes dies on 60% and other days it can work till 1% too. Sometimes after a reboot, it shows the battery percentage abnormally.
I love this phone so i m not planning to throw it away. On the other hand, i cannot find an original battery in the market.
Just chuck a suitable battery in and do the procedure I described.
My battery is not original either, so no problem.
As far as the battery consumption, it seems to be better now, after a week of use.
All,
Title says it all. I have noticed that since I went from Oreo beta to OTA, the watch will just shut off after about 5-6 hours of usage and will not come back on until it is put on the charger for a few minutes. Usually the watch battery is % is variable. I have never had issues with this watch before. It is the unlocked (W280A) version. I have not tried factory reset yet, but that is the next step. I wear this watch infrequently (wear my Gear S3 and rotate other AW watches), so it's not a show stopper. When trying to reboot into recovery to wipe cache, sometimes I would get a menu, but no choices to wipe cache, and other times, the dead Android with the triangle coming out of his chest. WTF?!!!
Anybody!? I am on OWR1.170919.018, AW2.7.0.178645119, Google Play Services 11.9.51 (530-177350961) Security Patch October 1, 2017.
This is driving me insane!!!

Battery % is variable. It has even done this at 100%.
LG has issued me a RMA and instructions to return the watch for repair since it is still under manufacturer's warranty. Mod -- you may close this thread.

I know this is old, but maybe it will help someone else. In order to get to the option to wipe the cache you will need to hold down the center button on the side and tap the top button when the "dead Android with the triangle coming out of his chest" comes up. This will put you in recovery mode. From here you can do a factory wipe or clear cache.
Unfortunately, I am getting this as well. Exact same symptoms.
Sometimes it will shut down at over 50% battery...other times it'll run down to about 10-15%, and shut down when I wake the screen.
No amount of clear-cache or factory resets seem to resolve this issue. It seems like time and wear/tear is finally catching up with these watches.
I also have these same problems from time to time.
I have worn my watch everyday for the last 16 months.
As I use my watch as my personal phone with SIM card, when it happens, very annoying!
There is nothing new on the market with LTE functionality to update it though, that I am aware of.

Charge cycle for Lithium battery are about 300 (from 0% to 100% : ex 600 cycles from 50% to 100%) so in 16 months I think you reached the max charge cycle and battery is dead ?
Battery not dead, still get a full day, just sometimes it shuts down as described above.
Following the same issue on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/lgwatchsport/comments/90qv8a/watch_dies_and_wont_boot_unless_its_on_the_charger/
I am having the same issue with my Watch. I love this watch and it is completely frustrating that this is happening. Doesn't seem like it will get fixed either since this devices is coming close to EOL. If anyone has a fix let me know!
Mine did it again today, shut down wouldn't complete boot-up.
When home put it on the charger was at 21% battery.
Becoming unreliable, really want an alternative with LTE.
I understand the new Galaxy smartwatch LTE is being sold by EE in the UK when available, just don't want Tizen or EE!
....yet again, answered a call on LTE, 2 seconds later watch immediately shuts down and won't complete reboot. Put on charger, battery at 29%.
But yesterday the watch did 8am till 11pm with LTE switched on.
Presently it is totally unreliable.

This still been a problem I've put the watch into boot mode and ran the watch down until it has turned off with no reserve to even attempt to turn back on, then fully charged her back up to 100%.
See if this makes any difference.
Out of interest I measure the current draw while charging from 0 to 100%, 650 mah.
The battery is not that big but I guess there will quite a loss in transfer from the charger to the watch through induction charging.
How to fix this issue ?? i ran out of warranty already
There is no way around for this. The only thing I found a bit worked was to remove the Auto Brightness and disconnect Wifi, NFC and other connectivity except Bluetooth. That has helped me from draining the battery within 3 hours to 8 hours. Regarding the sudden power off and not switching on till you put on the charger, It has been happening me for the past 5 months (And I am out of warranty) and latest I had this problem was today morning and the battery was at 96%.
Edit: Contacted Google Support and LG Support and the solution they gave me was spend about 65-85$ plus 19.95$ for assessing plus shipping charges to get it repaired from LG.
same here. i suspect it is the always on screen. since disabling hasn't happened
I'll give the always on screen 'off' a try, I'm not hopeful.
Still had the problem with the latest wear update too.

Hope, just received a call on my watch, after 2 minutes talking watch suddenly shuts down and will not reboot.
Put on charger, 46% battery charge.
Love the watch, love the latest wear update, totally unreliable at the moment with this major issue.
