I cant Install OREO? HELP - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Guys , Today I downloaded more than 4 Firmwares , I download France Firmwares XEF , but my CSC not changed, Tried with New Zealand and switched to XEF again but nothing happened, ****, after 15 Hour no success still,
WTF is Wrong?
What should I do?
Now I want to NAND Erase my note 8, Do you think it help?

I've just done it (my original CSC is SEE) - took SIM and SD card out, flashed in odin NZ firmware with CSC (not HOME CSC!). Next step was booting & initial setup (only wifi login, nothing else) and factory reset from settings as soon I've made it through setup. After boot i've powered down the phone and flashed XEF firmware (again with CSC) and after that again only setup wifi and nothing else. My CSC was succesfully changed to XEF/XEF/SEE and oreo update was available Made another factory reset and finally inserted SD and SIM card.

I read that you take a pit-file - why?
Did you take this firmware?

Thank you for intrest in my problem.
Tutorial on polish forum said to take a .pit file and check repartition box - I followed instructions.
I see my CSC in Settings/Telephone - informations (I'm translating from polish it may be diferent named in english, it's last card on the bottom of Settings)/Firmware informations - there I can see CSC
About 10 minutes ago I have resolved the issue.
I have inserted different sim card (from my work) and CSC has changed to XEH/XEH/XEO/XEH.
Then I switch SIM to second slot and CSC become XEH/XEO/XEO/XEH.
Then I did factory reset and now I have XEO/XEO/XEO/XEH
Bottom line instaling new firmware doesn't automaticaly change CSC. You need to insert SIM card to one slot, then to second slot and then do factory reset.
I hope this could help others.
Edit:
Not every SIM card will change CSC. If you have trouble try different SIM card preferably from different operator.
This post was published over 4 year ago, and now I encounter this issue too!
My phone is SM-N960N, and I did flash the corresponding firmware with .pit for multiple times with original system unchanged (CSC code: KTC). What's more, I just got this phone last night!
Does the computer OS itself cause this issue? I promise that Samsung USB driver is well installed.

How to get SM-N920I to detect VoLTE in india without root

Hi fellow XDA members,
I own a Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920I) which was bought in Singapore under operator Starhub (STH). I happen to use this phone in India and I later realized the phone supports VoLTE but the firmware didn't so I stuck with using the Jio4GVoice app for a long time now and I'm done with it due to lot of bugs and call drops.
I looked online for solutions and found many that involved root or custom recovery to flash the so-called VoLTE fix. I have read articles that said the Indian firmware supports VoLTE so I So, I tried the following:
Download the Indian firmware and flashed via odin. But it fails with error specified file not found. Did a research and i unchecked the Re-partition and again tried and it fails at flashing system . So I re-flashed the STH firmware to get the phone boot up. I learnt that CSC is responsible for getting the region specific network to work.
Extract CSC from Indian firmware and simply flash it on odin. But, as articles say that I'll have 4 files for each boxes to place in odin I only had one tar (<firmware_HOME_tar.md5). Then I read, extracting the modem.bin file and ziping that to a tar file and flash it via odin will help. I tried that but no luck (should I factory reset it?).
Both the firmwares have a single file and articles say that there will be CSC_<firmware>.tar and CSC_HOME_<firmware>.tar.
I don't know where I'm getting wrong. Is this even possible or i'm simply wasting my time? I use samsung pay and S health extensively so I don't wanna trip knox.
Update:
I read that cache.img is CSC from here. So extracted the cache from Indian firmware and flashed that to my phone that has STH firmware. I used the Phone info app and found baseband has been changed and available CSC shows INS but active CSC is STH. Now I guess i just need to activate that CSC. I tried the steps mentioned here but it doesn't work.

here is another method you can try. but this only works if your phone supports it.
For firmware that uses a multi-csc code, you need to select a sales code before attempting to connect to a cellular network. This is especially true for 3G and 4G connections.
There are two ways to select a sales code:
1. Enter *#06# in the phone dialer to obtain the IMEI number for the device. You can then enter *#272*Device IMEI# to select a sales code. If your Samsung device does not return a menu, the product code is not a multi-csc code.
OR
2. Install an CSC changer app, such as the "Phone INFO" app. CSC changer apps do require root access, and they do not work on all phones and all versions of Android.
Hit thanks if it helps !
P.S. IT ONLY WORKS ON STOCK ROM ...! so you need to be on Stock Rom.

Thanks for your help. I tried solution 1 and it Worked
However, before trying out your solution, my device was in this state:
1. Flashed Singapore ROM
2. Extracted every file from Indian rom and repacked the tar except the system.img (as this was failing to flash in odin)
3. After booting I got a notification from SupportAgent telling me that unauthorized changes have been made, tap here to reboot to undo those changes
4. I then read your solution and updated the CSC to INS from STH. And device got factory reset and for the first time I saw VoLTE logo on my phone :victory:
5. I finished the setup and still getting the same error in notification from SupportAgent. So I tapped on it, and device rebooted to a new blue screen with sim card logo on it and then boot up to system.
6. Now, in the quick settings, VoLTE toggle is gone and I got WiFi Calling toggle instead. However I still have the VoLTE icon on the status bar.
7. So later that day, I redo all the steps.
- Flashed Singapore firmware (This time, the CSC Country was Singapore and the active CSC was XTH instead of STH. There was VoLTE toggle)
- Flashed Cache from Indian Firmware (CSC Country changed to India the active CSC was INS automatically. Now got WiFi Calling toggle)
8. I noticed other changes in the software:
- The gallery App doesn't show Grid view so I'm stuck with List view
- The Samsung Pay says, its not supported for this device
What do you think about this?

are you still able to use voLTE ?? after these steps.
about Support agent. Ignore it if you can. or skip it. you do not need this as there aren't any official updates after this. (this is only because now system knows that you have modified it, and it will not receive any update. if you can the disable the Support agent app via settings or if possible via root.)
samsung pay will Not work. as knox should have been tripped to 0x1, so Samsung pay like apps will NEVER work after knox trip.

try flashing with the latest odin csc_home.md5 corresponding to your sim cards CSC or region.
csc.md5 can also be flashed but might wipe data.

just the csc.md5 or home_csc.md5 should work.
you can also download your firmware with sam firm tool 0.3.6 as well. should be much faster.
regarding csc, your sim card is from a carrier(phone company).
carriers have a 3 letter code that identify them. you can use that 3 letter code to search and install the csc file.

Yes. Windows is supposed to automatically install the drivers when you plug in your phone.
You may also install them by installing Smart Switch for PC.
give me custom rom first, then will worry how to flash it
Is there any reason (that we know of) why flashing an AT&T device to the unlocked ROM wouldn't work this year as it has in years past?

Problem solved, via Samkey application, S21 5G is already supported
For people who can't switch between csc in the same mult csc pack. OXM multi csc pack contains all the european generic and network branded firmware (csc) so if You are at SFR (part of OXM multi pack), and flash it with BTU (part of OXM multi pack) the SFR will stay. What you need to do is to flash it with different multi csc pack (just see what packs are available for your model), then flash it back with OXM multi pack, and it should switch to some generic csc, then if you instert your sim card it should ask you if you want to customize your phone to the inserted sim card and it will change your csc to the one you want.
EDIT. It works with other models as well, usually there is a domain language in each multi csc pack, and for flagship models it's usually DBT or BTU, for cheaper phones it's usually a langauge where the phone sells the most so for some A series models it's either ROM or XEO or XCZ

Thanks for that!
I am from Brazil and wanted to install my regional stock ROM but everytime I did it, it went back to my carrier's ROM.
What I did in this case was installing an OXM csc (the german DBT) and then trying again with my stock regional ROM (ZTO).
Removed my SIM card and didn't connect to wifi untill I was sure the stock ROM sticked to the phone.
PS: If anyone reading wants a rom from the OXM multipack and is having troubles, try using the Brazilian ZTO stock rom and then go back to yours.

That's true. ZTO is part of a multi csc pack OWO, so it will work for OXM. Good job mate
My S21 Ultra 5G from AT&T is somehow not getting updates and seems to be stuck on ATLF firmware with the December 1, 2020 security patch. Called AT&T...they blamed Samsung and sent me to Samsung. Samsung blamed AT&T and wants me to travel 50 miles away to a Ubreakifix store (official Samsung repair center). Today I called again and AT&T had me factory reset the phone with the result being the same - - no update - software is up to date.
Frija seems to be downloading the newest AUC8 firmware when I put in the model of SM-G998U with ther correct US code which I hope is the AT&T rom.
Is the firmware from Frija safe?

hi there
I have done this recently, perhaps with a slight fail on my sight, since i updated to the latest OXM pack, since i wanted to switch to DBT from DTM (german telekom) without reading this thread and your post first. So my phone didn't switch from DTM to DBT. until yesterday i had to wait for the updated security patch for OWO pack to switch. So all went fine and i switched from DTM OXM to OWO and back to OXM again.
But basically here starts my problem (if it is a problem, not sure yet):
My phone switched not to DBT, instead it went to EUX, which i guess is the generic code for complete EU countries? i am not sure, since i couldn't find the sales code or CSC for this anywhere tbh. i have two SIM prepaid SIM cards from a third party o2 contractor, so normally (i have done it on my Note 10 plus), like you mentioned, it should ask you to customize your phone and switch to DBT, but for me it simply doesn't ask or go to DBT at all. It simply keeps the EUX. Which i would not have a problem with, when i get regular updates with it like i would on DBT.
If anyone could give me a hint how to change to DBT or what i did wrong, i would appreciate the help. If EUX is fine for getting updates, i am also fine with that, if someone can confirm this. on OWO the software updater said please contact a samsung service center, since i have german SIMs in the phone, but with OXM package and CSC on EUX currently it just says "software is up to date" so it can connect to the update servers if that helps.
A short pm would be appreciated or maybe some help from an experienced user (more than me lol) via telegram as well.
Cheers
Mike
Oy, when I try to run frija, it tells me I need to have Visual c++ 2008 installed?!
EDIT: Finally found the download for it, but Frija doesn't seem to have firmware for the S21+
I was working with someone to find a way to remove Retail Mode from our S21 (SM-G991U1 XAA), and when using Odin to flash, we accidentally used the same firmware BL file for every section of the install. Now the phone is stuck in download mode, and we can't find a firmware download with replacement AP or CP files. Only a single BL .md5 file, or a set of files that don't seem to fix the problem. I found a link here on the forums to what appears to be exactly what we need, but it takes hours to download for some reason, and then fails partway through each time. Always at a different point in the download, too. Sometimes it gets to 2.5GB, other times 3.7GB, but never the whole file. That link is over in this thread:
G991U and G991U1 Firmware Links and Flashing Discussion Here
This was the link I followed:
U1 firmware
Any thoughts? Any help getting pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated. !

[Guide] How to convert s10-g973N to sm-g973f, change csc from skc to koo or any another, fix emergency calls only. No need of paid apps, boxes etc.

**********This is first time am posting a guide so pardon me. *******
********As usual am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.*******
*****Am not claiming ownership of the above technique, its what worked for me*****
I saw many posts here about people struggling to change csc from skc to koo or international***
Others had issue with their phone suddenly lost network and just displays emergency calls only****
so I have s10 sm-g973n which had csc as koo then flashed skc my mistake. The phone booted with annoying skc boot logo, and branded junk from the carrier. Then one morning the phone couldn't connect to gsm network!
I tried all manner of things to fix it. Rooted with magisk, flashed custom rom nothing.
Tried samkey to change csc still nothing. modified odin in flashing multi csc rom nothing.
Got some luck in changing csc by editing efs/imei/mps_code.dat using root explorer, text editor and vola the carrier junk disappeared. But still no network.
was told only way is to use z3x box or chimera to patch certificate but didn't give up. I posted question here in xda but no guide or response.
But that gave me an idea of what could be the issue- corrupt efs that needs the certificate to be patched. so got keyword.
After watching many YouTube videos I came across a video about a rom that has certificate patched. Just flash with odin and done!
I downloaded and followed the instructions. The phone booted up fine and after going through initial setup the network was back!
Not only did the network came back but the model changed to F, csc became oxm! You can now use tools like Samfw from too to change csc to your local region.
Later in the day, will be flashing firmware with my region csc.
Here is the link to the rom:

Yes sim 2 will work. And after completing flash stock rom for security reasons. Because the above rom is rooted and modified we don't know how secure it is. after network certificates are patched now flash a stock rom from eg sammobile or samfw etc.
When i flash this file the storage becomes 64gb
Hey bro have u found any android 12 rom for g973N ???

Did you find a fix for that? For me the internal memory become 32Gb. Is there a solution for that?
I bought an S10 that turned out to be a G973N(SKC) flashed to G973F-D/S(XSG). I think they used this method and these files to do it. I can't get the OEM unlock option to come up. I've tried everything. I am starting to think that it's because of the XSG country code. I was going to try to change it XEU (Great Britain) in SamFW but it just stalls and doesn't do anything. Any suggestions on what I can do here to change the country code? I need that OEM unlock option so I can degoogle it.
Hi guys,
