Stuttering and skipping streaming are very known issues on many jelly bean devices.
The most times when I listen to music in my car, i do this via bluetooth. So it is really annoying me and some day, I will have an accident, while I am fumbling with my HTC One.
I replaced the audio.a2dp.default.so with one of the Nexus 4 (4.2.2) and it just worked well, but only the first time using bluetooth streaming after rebooting the device.
I changed some settings in audio.conf and it still stutters.
But then, i deactived wifi while the device was streaming and all stuttering and skipping was gone.
So... can someone just confirm, whether the a2dp streaming works correctly, when wifi is deactived?
I want to know, whether this is the only point to get this work and I don't want to change my working mess
is nobody interested in this?
I posted this bluetooth issue a while back on this forum, and the issue is corrected by switching off WIFI while using BT. Apparently the new update which is due soon fixes the issue but only one user has confirmed that so far.
Since I use bluetooth streaming on the car mainly, I use Tasker so that when Bluetooth connects, it automatically switches WIFI off (don't need WIFI while driving and saves battery), and when it disconnects it switches it back on. This way the phone just works seamlessly.
Just turning the wifi off and back on again when I connect bluetooth seems to solve this issue for me.
i can confirm - turning wifi on/off fixes it as well for me (until next time I go bluetooth)
I discovered this a couple of weeks ago too. I was about to send it back too. Cant live without podcasts and audible in the car!
I have the problem that i cant even here any sound on my HTC CAR A100 Car Stereo Clip, even if wlan is deactivated With my old sensation everything is okey..

I wonder if this also improves the bitpool value. I'm noticing on my HTC One that bluetooth streaming quality is not very good. From what I've read it has to do with a bitpool value that it set too low, increasing this value is supposed to increase the streaming quality. Highs sound distorted on my phone over BT I can't believe Google/HTC have not addressed this issue.
I have not been able to solve the bluetooth audio streaming issue by turning off WiFi for my car. It works perfectly fine with my Jambox even with WiFi turned on, but in the car, it does not work either way and I'm using software version 1.29.401.13

I've tried researching how to update the firmware of my car's bluetooth, but have had zero luck there as well. It's a 2009 Acura TSX.

Did you manage to fix the problem with the A100 as mine is exactly the same, works fine on my Sensation but no the HTC One.
have the same problem:
If wifi is ON and bluetooth is ON, eg at streaming youtube over the bluetooth headset, it stutters and has distortions.
If wifi is OFF and stream a video from the sdcard over bluetooth all is fine.
what i find out:
I use the JellyBean from Quarkx for defy.
The build from 7.3.2013 worked
All later builds, with the new wifi driver had this problem.
But its a known bug that JellyBean has a2dp issues, i guess.
This trick, to change audio.a2dp doesnt helped me
I didn't noticed any problem with my phone even when the wifi ON, I'm using the latest radio "4A.16.3250.24_10.38.1150.03L" found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615

Hi all,
I've spent the last day trying to solve this issue and searching for answers on xda and elsewhere but there doesn't seem to be a solution. I have an HTC One, rooted, s-off, and running ViperOne. I recently upgraded my data plan and no longer have to worry about conserving my data each month so I started using Pandora in my car via Bluetooth. Bluetooth connection from my phone to the car has never been an issue. However, when I run Pandora, initially it has no problems connecting and will start playing a station right away but then when a song ends (and the screen has turned off), I always get the message that Pandora is unable to connect. Once I wake the screen, it magically starts playing the next song. Then when that song ends, the connectivity problem happens again and the only way to get it starting again is to once again unlock my phone, which is not exactly safe if I'm driving along and trying to be a safe driver by not fiddling with the phone. I've tested this out in the same spot in my home using my home wireless internet, and it works flawlessly. Even when the screen is off, the next song will play. Once I'm back on LTE, same problem happens again. I've already disabled the Power Saver option to not turn off data connection when the screen is off and turned off Sleep Mode. I'm wondering if this happens to anyone running stock software on their HTC One? Going through the ViperOne thread, it has appeared to be an issue for others as well. Thanks
Im on stock TMO HTC One and have streamed pandora, siriusxm and google play music many times on my way home with no issues.
Mainly through the headset jack. But for a few weeks i did use the HTC audio bridge A100 to stream music via bluetooth and that also had no issues.
Try to test another BT device OR if your vehicle has a stereo headset jack input try that. See if you get the same results.
Thanks for the quick reply. The problem seems to occur whether or not I'm using Pandora in my car via Bluetooth or just running Pandora by itself in my house as background music.

Any luck finding an answer to this? I'm having this same problem with TuneIn and XiiaLive, and haven't been able to find anything.
I've also completely uninstalled Viper Audio, so I'm thinking that isn't the issue.

I ended up wiping and re-installing Viper and the problem didn't happen anymore. I have not had any problems since. I think the thing to make sure of is that on whatever app you're having trouble with, to make sure you're not restricting background data for it in Data Usage.

The only problem I have is the bluetooth in my car is always on. The phone wants to stay connected to it even when I'm in the house. Makes for a frustrating time when I'm doing work in the yard and trying to listen to something. I will plug in the headphones and after a while it will switch to the car's bluetooth.
Short of that the bluetooth connection has been stable and used a lot.

Blue tooth connection issue
Ok, let me be as descriptive as possible to my condition/experience.
I went for a walk today with Droid Turbo in tow, blue tooth connections to my Moto 360 (synced with Run Keeper) and Beats bluetooth earphones, playing a downloaded podcast, to avoid weak signal/streaming issues.
The sound coming thru the connected headphones was choppy, cutting in and out. Not listenable.
I thought the Moto active display were being tripped over and over again in my pocket, causing the choppiness of the bluetooth audio.
I turned off all the Moto active settings, as well as double twist to open camera app.
After turning off all those settings, it seems to play without a hitch. For the first couple of minutes. Then it would alternate between continuous playback and chopped playback, couple minute at a time, back and forth.
I am now done with that walk, sitting down typing this up and bluetooth thru Beats are working flawlessly.
It must be related to motion of the phone as I walk that causes the chopped playback, i dont have a clue.
Anyone have similar and create a setting profile that eliminates this?
Only issue with Bluetooth is with my mazda cx5, connects faster than my note 3, plays well except sometimes with play music the display won't advance to the next song but the song plays. Also sometimes the skip track won't work. Had zero issues with the note 3, hoping the next update fixes these problems. That's the problem with being an early adapter, but love the phone so far, miss having viper4android and pandora patcher, but can live without them, but keeping fingers crossed for root, although I seriously doubt this phone will get it.
Me too

I had what sounds like the same problem. At first I thought I was getting notifications that would make the Bluetooth connection to my car cut out, but eventually realized that it was indeed garbled and sounded like a CD skipping quietly. I also had horrible battery life and touch screen issues even after a factory reset. Returned it and I'm using my GNex until my N6 shows up.

Fortunately for me the CD skipping stopped. Seems it worked itself out for me. [emoji1]
My turbo has a terrible time staying connected to my pebble, so much so that I'm attempting to set up llama to periodically check for connectivity, and if it finds none, reset Bluetooth and attempt a reconnect.
No audio problems, but I've never tried for more than a half hour or so.

I run regularly with the Turbo in my pocket, with BT Headphones (Motorola H11), BT heart rate monitor (Polar), with Runkeeper app tracking my run and music playing from Google Play music. Works very well. Once in a while, I do get a little skipping (1-2 minutes of skipping on 1 out of every 5 runs?). I do usually turn my wifi off when I'm going for a run. I run by a few saved hotspots, and I think that the skipping is related to wifi attempting to connect to a weak hotspot.
Just curious... The ones having issues with BT connections. Are you by chance connected to Wi-Fi? I've always had issues with Bluetooth on my devices when connected to 2.4ghz WiFi. No issues with 5ghz. They're too close to the same frequency. My note 2014 can't even keep a connection to my work 2.4ghz Wi-Fi and stream over a Bluetooth connection. Drops it every time.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the issue here. When I first got this phone, music over my bluetooth earbuds would skip like crazy while I was walking across campus. Eventually I noticed that if I set the wifi frequency band to 5GHz only or turned it off completely, then the stuttering would stop. Likely the stuttering was from my phone trying to connect to access points as I walked through campus. So now I just have tasker set up to disable the wifi whenever I'm connected to my earbuds. Not a proper solution but it works for now. Never had a problem like this with my Galaxy S3, though. Hopefully it can be fixed in some sort of software update.
I've had what sounds like skipping, but it only happens when the phone is either connecting or disconnecting from WiFi and I am streaming music, that wasn't uncommon with previous phones though so I wouldn't consider it a Turbo issue. I stream almost every day for a total of about 1-2 hours.

Rixanu - I think you're on to something... I'll give my "story" and hopefully someone a little more savvy than us can help figure it out.
I switched over from the good ole Galaxy Nexus about a month ago. No major complaints on the Turbo yet as we await Lollipop, with the exception of this Bluetooth issue. I have the Bluetooth paired in the car, and a set of headphones - music and everything worked perfectly on the GNex through the Bluetooth. Now, primarily, it's often choppy (mustic anyway) - for reference, when listening to music I listen via Google Play (all access or whatever they call it now). I figured the choppiness was related to the fact that the music was being streamed since most wasn't downloaded yet, but after very limited experimenting, I believe it must have to do with the physical Bluetooth radio. I had noticed in the past that when the music streams perfectly, a lot of times if I pick it up to check an email, text, etc., it becomes choppy, but thought that was strange since the RAM should be more than sufficient to multitask without choppiness. On my way home from a friend's, I played around and stuck my hand over various parts of the back of the phone, and would press the phone against my pant, etc., and could effectively interfere completely with the connection such that it would be only silent, and not even choppy. Yet, while the music wasn't playing, the track continued to playback on the device and when the music would pick up after I moved the phone, it would be 10 seconds or whatever later as if it had been playing straight through the whole time.
I haven't tested this theory too much yet, but I think combined with your issue, there's certainly something there. Unfortunately, I frequent these parts in order to find answers to these types of issues and don't have the solutions myself.
Do we have lemons, or is this issue prevalent?
I'm happy to provide more info to anyone that can help.
Thanks in advance!
Guys user: BIOYAM
Found a fix that worked for him and for me. You can try this:
Install SetCPU (I used a free app No-frills Cpu controll) with Governor: Interactive, CPU: Max 2265MHZ & Min 652
This totally stopped my bluetooth audio issues. Of course you need to be rooted to use these tools.
Hope this helps. :good:
Just an update for all y'all... My brother has the same phone and he's sort of oblivious to these types of issues, so I didn't trust his take on whether he was having the same problem. Anyway, I tested his phone on my BT devices and his phone had no issue whatsoever, even though mine did as I flipped back and forth between a pairing of the two.
Long story short, I called Verizon who connected me through Motorola and they're shipping me a new one, though they required me to put a $500 hold on my cc until I send this POS one back.
Happy Holidays
Yes
I would be happy for suggestions. My bluetooth headphone keeps losing connection to the phone, and then reconnecting. Now, this only happens when I'm not listening, but since I tend to keep the headphones around my neck when I've paused playback I hear the reconnection beeping, it's annoying. When I resume listening the headphone may, or may not be connected.
I've made sure all the other bluetooth devices have bluetooth off, so I don't think the phones are trying to connect to something else. I read in another post that someone thought they might be having trouble because their car bluetooth was always on. I don't know if mine is, but I can tell you it's a pain to connect the phone to the car. Every time I do I need to go through several menus and, of course, this can only be done in Park, so I doubt the car is trying to take over the phone's bluetooth. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks
Since the MM upgrade, my phone has stopped connecting to my BT headphones automatically when I turn the headphones on. I have to manually connect them, by selecting them out of the list of paired devices. Is this just a change in how MM handles BT?
My issues with BT happen with both Lollipop & MM. My Turbo will randomly turn off BT and when I go to turn it back on I see the BT icon flash a couple of times quickly but it never turns back on. I found a remedy for the issues by using an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect but even with that I still have the issues now.
The phone also turns BT on by itself, even after I have manually disabled it
I'm sure the phone knows that it's going to be replaced with a Pixel and is messing with me as much as possible until then.
Any ideas?
I have a problem with my unrooted Xperia Z with a locked bootloader. My main speaker does not work for any media like music games or videos, but works fine for loudspeaker calls. Also the earpiece speaker doesnt work at all. Another problem i found was that my microphone would not work at all unless it was in a call and i was using loudspeaker. The final problem is that when ever i plug in my earphones, google now pops up and sometimes my phone starts playing music automatically throught the earphones, when i remove the earphones, instea of stopping the music continues but the speakers dont work so it just keeps playing them silently. If anyone knows the soultion to this, please respond as ive searched everywhere and i have not found one solution yet.
UPDATE: i used the application soundabout to reroute the audio and the calls are now fine, the only problem is that when i plug in my earphones the google now problem persists. If i plug in earphones with a mic, i dont get any of these problems and everytime i want to use my internal speaker for media, i have to manually re-route the audio to them. Anybody know a solution to these 2 problems?
I do have the exact same problem, I tried different ROMs and Audio Mods (at the moment I've got a stock ROM) without any change.
Did you somehow fix it?
Exact same problem, i run stock android 5.1.1 build 10.7.A.0.222 locked boot loader. Problem suddenly came up last week during vacation, quite some time after I did OTA upgrade to 5.1.1 - so this is not related to ROM updates.
After installing soundabout (thanks for the hint) the rerouting did not work immediately - i had to set phone to earpiece and media to speaker in the app and reboot for it have an effect.
I think the root cause is, the phone thinks there are headphones connected, when there really aren't. If I use the UKW radio app, it starts and shows headphones as output-icon right away - it should actually complain that there is no reception without phones because the antenna (headphone cable) is missing. Since it doesn't complain I guess that's the culprit.
Any hints how to fix that, without using a rerouting app? (kinda stupid, using bluetooth speakers and so on now needs a manual setting change in soundabout).
I have that phone for more than 2 years now and used headphones maybe twice with it, so a busted headphone-jack is out of the question too.
Guys give it a try.
Thanks Ess Arr, that really works!
Hello I am on the latest e update from T-Mobile and have noticed in my cars Bluetooth when I stream music it seems to have popping noises that seems to be like it's having a hard time keeping up with the stream. I also noticed with audio from videos played through my car has an aweful sync delay. I have a 2017 Ford with Sync3. I have no issues with my older Nexus 6p or GS 7.
Has anyone else experienced this? Wondering if I have a defective unit.

I have the same problem with the new update connecting to my 2017 Ford Escape. I found a work around, though. If I disconnect and then reconnect to the car's Bluetooth, the skipping goes away. No idea why this would happen, but hopefully the next update fixes it. I don't want to do this every time I get in my car!
Edit: Also, I'm 90% sure I didn't have this problem before the update.
I hope so too. I have factory reset and turned battery optimization off all Bluetooth apps too. Also I had all the new play store updates. And when I factory reset I lost them all. Seems like the updates tab and filter options were on then gone after reset. ?

No update yet.
Which version of Bluetooth are your devices/car bluetooth connections utilizing? Just curious.
My stereo headphones use 4.0 (Jabra Move), but I haven't noticed any issue yet with high CPU usage, battery drain, quality issues, etc. I've had it on when out in case a call comes in.

Bluetooth Issues
Hi, I have been having bluetooth issues with this phone since day one. It does not happen with all bluetooth devices but it definitely happens with my Pioneer Head unit in the car. Sometimes it also depends on the application used. The strange this is that it does not happen all the time, but when it does it happens frequently. I also noticed that the headunit will get stuck in voice command mode after using voice command, also the phone will answer calls by itself even though this feature is turned off in the settings. The message is "Bluetooth device has stopped working". This obviously did not happen with my G4. I have cleared Cache and all bluetooth devices, and have also cleared them on th Head Unit. I do have another Pioneer head unit in another vehicle, different model and it does the same thing. I have seen many people reporting issues with car units in other vehicles.
Hoping for a quick update, I know weird things are bound to happen with new phones. I really like the phone, this is the only real anoying issue.
I think the issue is more so bluetooth than anything else. Bluetooth never was, and likely never will be, a truly reliable data transfer protocol.
Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
I think the issue has to do with device incompatibilities. Every phone I have had, I see reports of BT problems that I just don't experience. Hooks up to the car in a flash. Works with both my bt headphones and soundbar for my tv.
My car is a nissan maxima.
I have had g2, g3, g4, nexus 6p , g5 and now g6. The nexus was the worst for my devices. It worked, but getting connected took longer.
Possibly The Music App Being Used
I don't have a ford like allot of you guys replying in the thread, however I have noticed that specifically "Google Play Music" will have an issue on any bluetooth device; where if you have a widget of the player on the phone, and you have listened to music using the app BEFORE you connected to the vehicle, when trying to play from where you were in the song, it will pop and skip around. The only way to fix this easily is to pause the song, clear the app out of recents and re open the app and play. Hope this helps some of you.
I have also noticed this with my G6. I have a 2014 Chevy Malibu and use Google Play Music, streaming through T-Mobile. I have no issues streaming music to the same car with GPM through my Samsung GS7. I noticed someone mention disconnecting then reconnecting bluetooth, so I will give that a shot. Still frustrating, and I am hoping that LG will be able to come up with a software fix.
My G6 Bluetooth crashes every time its connected to my car "Bluetooth crash". It doesn't matter which app I use, it disconnects every 5 seconds. The rest of my phones connect without a problem to my Honda Accord. Even my fiance's G6 connects without an issue. I believe I got a bad unit, will return for another one and see what happens.
There were a ton of Bluetooth issues in 7.0. I had them on my Pixel XL. It really sucks that LG didn't ship the G6 with 7.1. Hopefully they implement the Bluetooth patches in 7.1. I can't get my Dodge truck to display Google Play Music metadata with my G6. My Pixel XL displays the metadata just fine. The G6 does display Google Play Music metadata in my Ford Explorer though.
I'm getting noticeable static when using Pandora via Bluetooth with my 2016 Subaru, but it's an improvement over my OnePlus 3T that wouldn't even allow media playback via Bluetooth with my car.

Hi Yes I am having a similar issue with my lg g6. I am also on tmobile. The sound randomly about 1-2 times during the song just starts to sound terrible (like FM quality). It does have a bit of a static/popping nosie, this happens for a few seconds for me and then goes back to sounding normal.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately it didn't work.
I tried wiping my phone clean but it seems that after the LG Android Updates it starting acting worse. GPM does not help either.
I've tried everything, reset network, clearing all Bluetooth data, safe mode, even restarted my car's audio system. Brand new LG G6, not a day old and it doesn't connect to car, only call audio connects but not the media. Works fine with portable speakers but keeps disconnecting every ten seconds in car.
