Hi i rooted my note 8 with samfail v3 and now i want to go back to stock i followed the carefully the procedure but it keeps giving me a failed notice at odin, i also tried factory resetting before flashing the files but it gives me an error saying firmware doesnt match. This is the previous build number when i havent rooted yet " N950USQS2BQK2 " downloaded it but still fails. Any help would be appreciated

what did u find out? I'm having same issue but I'm just trying to reinstall the firmware cuz i upgraded my Samsung pay framework and now Samsung pay doesn't work.
It successfully updated to oreo via odin but after reboot it is still android 7 nougat i am looking for the pit file now but i cant find it anywhere there's one but its paid download

If you rooted with SamFail v3 then that means you had v3 bootloader. If you were indeed on S2BQK2 before root you should have used SamFail v2. You you did in fact use SamFail v3 then you have v3 bootloader & you would not be able to downgrade back to v2 bootloader, Odin will not let you. If that's the case you need to flash N950USQS3BRA8.

Hey Guys tried to reroot via the De La Vega method after my phone updated itself. Tried to do so through ODIN didnt get anywhere. During the NAND write process it would come close to finishing then fail. Says AUTH error and phone says Secure Check Fail: System. Any fixes available yet? (did a thorough search and didnt find anything) thanks in advance. Oh yea Knox is @ 0x0 for kernel lock and warranty void.
What Firmware did your phone update to? If it updated to MJ5, Root De La Vega will not work. You will have to find another method.
If yours says MJ5 RDLV= No Dice

Yea it was to mj5, i ended up pulling a mj5 pit file from a dump and flashed it through ODIN to unbrick it. However im getting the direct pen input has stopped working error every time i try to go to a different screen.
Anyone reading this i found a way to unbrick and root again. My notes running good as new. Had to use ODIN and Heimdall. http://www.usofttech.com/t133026.html

what version of odin are you using ? odin 3.09 is what is used for 4.3 and click ap for the file you want to install this should sort this issue for you

i just recieved the note 3 (AT&T) kitkat update, the problem is that i tried to install it and im rooted. The phone restarted at 27% of update and said "Update failed". Somehow i wasnt rooted anymore. i tried to root again using Kingo and failed and i dont know what to do. I cant root and cant install the update, it keep showing up.
P.S: im status 0x0 and do have the "Custom" lock thingy at the start

Don't worry, you ain't the only one having this problem. I'm NOT rooted, never have been rooted, and yet i have the same failed update problem too. Nobody seems to know what to do. All the methods I have tried have not worked.

Hello guys,
I was having the same issue with the installation aborting at 27%. Below is everything I tried:
1- Phone was rooted with Kingo. Performed an un-root and tried again but still failed.
2- Restored the phone using the internal reset with the same results.
3- Restored the phone to factory settings using Kies did not work either....so.......
This morning I went to the AT&T store and as usual they were clueless as what to do. Some of them didn't even knew about the update so I ended up going to the Samsung Booth inside a Best Buy Store.
The girl looked and showed me that their system still doesn't show the AT&T kitkat update for the Note 3. Then she offered to perform a factory reset using their system.....after a few minutes I went home with the phone and downloaded and installed the update without a hitch.....go figure.
Everything is working fine and all my data is still there.:good:
I can use some help too. Mine is just "checking for update was interrupted" and happened for the last 3 times I checked. Never root the phone.

No you have to start from step 1 unless you've already used the guide to restore MJ5 previously.
Guys! Did this process and everything works like a charm! it is safe and noob-proof, follow this guys tutorial and everything is going to work!
Hey guys I had a update menu pop up. Went into recovery and got to 25%. After that phone rebooted and it said update failed to install. I checked the update screen again and it says im up to date. Dis a factory reset and says ita up to dat. Was it a fluke? I have provided a screen sgot to show my latest firmware to see if you guys know if its up to date. Thanks guys.

Since your build number is saying nce i'd say no, theres some odin flashable ng3 files in the general section if you want to give that a shot, i personally dont think im very qualified to give suggestions as far as that goes though, so i'd wait for further instruction from someone who knows more than me.

Yeah, kernel and build number don't look up to date. I'd think you could follow the guide to odin back to the nc3 completely and try the ota again, or use the ng3 stock rooted firmware available to odin everything up to current (but with root). I looked for stock unrooted ng3 and couldn't find it, although it may be available too.

Go to this thread and download the NG3 update and save it to your ex sd card then go to stock recovery and select install from ex sd card and you'll be good to go

What else can I do? I'm pretty lost and extremely frustrated since I can't get this to update...and I have searched and searched the Web and all I see info for is nc1 or lolipop... Help me obiwan, you're my only hope!?

Guys ive tried to root my samsung galaxy s5 SM-GT900H VERSION 6.0.1. ive tried doing the way of downloading Odin and all that but didnt work and when i power on my phone it says recovery is not seanoid in red letters.
ive also tried the one click root on kingoapp but that just says root failed. i spent too long on this and have failed. does anyone have any other way for this version of android
