My device is rooted, and it still doesn't work. It worked with my Moto X Play. I have a 2015 Sony Bravia TV.
Can you describe what you did to get it working?

goto settings>display>cast (last option) , click the screen to cast , better to play from youtube app and then press the cast option from there it will only cast the youtube
Its working fine for me, everytime but only with the cast devices or TV , yes it don't have wireless cast ( not needed for hardware casting) so it work on any soft based cast systems , you can use third part apps to get cast/mirror on device

Remove # from this line on build.prop, save and reboot.
I'd rather not do that, as it breaks OTA updates.

Well, why not do it temporarily to see if it works. Can always change back.
Not as if OTA updates are happening every day.

Hi there,
i found this on the Support-Site at Motorola.com
"What is CastScreen?
Cast Screen is an Android app that will allow users to wirelessly share phone content on a television via Chromecast.
Although Cast Screen is not currently active, plans call for it to become usable in a future software update."

Can anyone tell how Chromecast works with lollipop. Also does cast screen option in notification works for both audio and video. Can mobile local media be streamed with cast screen?. Please help as I am planning to buy.
Please if anyone can clarify my queries as to Chromecast.
1. Is it fully compatible with Moto G on Lollipop.
2. In India it is available on official google play store and snapdeal. From where should I buy. Is there any benifit on buying from Anyone.
This app turns android device to a Chromecast receiver. As far as I know, this is the only Android Chromecast receiver besides Google's own implementations.
It supports YouTube, Chrome browser tab mirroring, Google Play Music, Google Play Movies, and screen mirroring. Most 3rd party apps using Google Cast SDK should also work. Yes, it works on Amazon FireTV boxes and sticks, and other major brands of Android TV boxes.
This is the trial apk, which has full features, except this current apk will expire on Feb 29, 2016, so hurry up !

Hello huisinro,
App installs OK and looks very pretty.
When I try to cast to it from an Android Phone on the same wifi network it doesn't show up at all, also tried using the Chromecast Setup App from other android phoes too.
EDIT : Tried it on a LG G3 (d855)
Thanks Rob.
Did you try the screen mirroring from the Google chromecast app? It will search for the receivers.
You may need to reboot the router.
Any news on a Amazon App store release? Would love to buy your app but need to buy through Amazon so I can use on my Fire TV and other android devices through their app store.
Still working on a version for Amazon store release, look like it will be next month.
Great, thanks.
Would love support for amlogic devices. If you need a guinea pig im happy to help. Have also bought the paid version hoping support will come one day and help development
I have a Minix X8 and X8H, which are amlogic running Android 4.4, they are working fine. What is your AMLogic device model?
Its a vigica c70t running 4.2.2.
Ok, AMLogic before android 4.4 is notorious in not supporting low level Media Codec API, which is why not working .
I will see if I can use a software decoder.
Can you check if Google chrome browser works on your box?

That'll be what my MX Box needs too, if you recall. Really looking forward to the possibility.
YouTube app works on mine, not sure about in the browser. I'll edit this in a bit after I've checked.
Edit: Tried with https://youtu.be/azV0Y7v6wsg - definitely works in both the YouTube app and in Chrome, but not when attempting to cast it from another device. @huisinro
Apk updated , fixed iOS YouTube crashing issues
Thanks for the update. Did you install the chrome browser from google play?

What is the error when you cast YouTube to your box with YouMap? black screen?
I get unable to play video. Please choose anouther. But other apps that cast video i get a black screen with sound. But when i push the back button i get video for a second befor the app closes. Could it be an issue with stagefright on my device. Ive done a bit of research and most of what ive found points to that. I dont know much about it though
Sent from my SM-G900I using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, it's to do with Stagefright low level decoding APIļ¼ which AMLogic does not support.
When you use amlogic boxes, does YouTube casting work? What about chrome tab mirroring? What about android screen mirroring?
Thank you for the great app!
I have installed Youmap Chromecast receiver into my Android settop box. where the result is strange. When I enable the Youmap receiver, all of my phone can't find it. After rebooting the router, my Nexus 4 can find the receiver only when the Android settop box connected to router through LAN cable. If the Android settop box is connected to router wirelessly, none of my phone could search it.
In the above successful case, the Nexus 4 can find and cast the screen to the Android settop box (procedure: Setting > Display > Cast screen > Select YouMAP (XXXX)). Although Nexus 4 and my Android settop box support Miracast, I'm pretty sure Nexus 4 is connected to the settop box by chromecast as I didn't enable Wireless Display and the search result clearly stated YouMap. On the other hand, the cast button didn't appear in Youtube app. Moreover, I tried it on my Moto G 2014 and it didn't find the receiver (procedure: Setting > Display > Cast screen).
Device list:
My Android settop box is MiBox 1S with Amlogic 8726-MX running Android 4.4
Nexus 4 running stock Android 4.4
Moto G 2014 running stock Android 5.0
D-link DIR-655 Wireless N router
Hi I have Moto g6 with no root and I am trying to cast video's (not YouTube ) to my smart TV which has WiFi and my son's Samsung can be seen on the TV
I tried settings display cast ...but it says no device found and no option to search for device.also from the top menu on screen it has a cast button that actually searches but alas nothing found
Any ideas please
Is your device on your WiFi? Also, is it a Chromecast tv? Because if the TV uses Miracast, or mirroring, it won't work. The g6 is capable of casting via Chromecast protocol, but not Miracast.

I just checked mine recently. Assuming being close to stock Android that it had Miracast. (My nuxus' all had it) but when digging in the settings, I never found it in the usual places. I have the g6 play though, so I wasn't 100% sure.
It's strange but it can cast YouTube video?? Just not tea TV app

Yes, there's a cast button on the YouTube app on your phone, but it will still be casting through the YouTube app on your TV.
u need to edit/add a line on build.prop
i'll just check an add here
---------- Post added at 07:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:05 PM ----------
ok so the option on every motorola phone used to be under screen settings but wouldn't work. we would edit a line on build.prop to make it work. now even editing the line doesn't work, the option isn't even there anymore (I've updated to Pie already, but on Oreo I had done that).
Even though I can use the cast option on YouTube the system does not detect any wireless display on the network so I can't mirror my phone's screen or cast downloaded videos. Is anyone else facing a similar issue?

Why? Install an iptv app to s8 and see iptv in s8 without the box.
Install the Miracast app on your iptv box and then run Smart View on the tablet.

I can't install app on tablet, because the TV box (formuler z8) have own app, which not included in Google play.
Do you have a user name and password and the ip link of the service for your account for the streaming service you pay? (or one link which includes everything). Or can you ask for them? Say that you want to watch in tablets. (You still can watch for one device each time). If you have those, probably any app can work. I'm watching everything in every device. S8 ultra also. But I have those.

Miracast and Smart View duplicate my tablet screen. I need to use my tablet as a TV, not second screen

It doesn't support video input via cable. Probably NO Android devices support such at all.
It's doable on PC or Laptops via an external capture card but not on TABs.
AFAIK, there are SOME capture cards which MAY work but it's all trial and error and totally "experimental".
