Hy!
I unlocked developer options, and there is an inactive option named stay awake (this would disallow my phone to lock the screen if its on charger).
Any idea how can I unlock this feature? I tried rebooting my phone, connect to my pc, but still gray.

Thats good for him! But I didn't get closer to resolve my problem That phone is unlocked? Is there any thing, you could think; "maybe that enabled those options"? (I tried to login with my mi account, still not available the switch.)

Its not unlocked!
I turned off all battery optimization. Turned off Miui optimization. Tried to force the option from adb with `adb shell settings put global stay_on_while_plugged_in 3` it switched the option, but after a reboot it switched back, and its not working...

I'm on Fresh Toast 2.1 (official eclair w/ fresh customizations)
When I plug in a USB cable to my phone from any computer, from any OS (OS X 10.5, 10.6 and Win XP/7) I don't get offered the option to mount as a drive.
I looked in the 'Connect to PC' settings and tried it with 'Ask Me' both checked and unchecked. I also tried to make Disk Drive mode the default and that didn't help either. The only way I can mount it the SD as a drive is by rebooting to Recovery and toggling MS.
What a pain! Any ideas?
Are you using the app. Autostarts? I had that exact same problem until I realized that I disabled PC Synchronization (using Autostarts) from starting up when the phone boots. Once I re-enabled it again it worked just fine.
check on the top left of the status bar, if you can see a triangle with charge only, then slide down the status bar and press on charge only... let us know if this works. Also make sure that debug is off, menu> settings> applications> Development
Yeah, I'll bet what you did, dude, is set it to "Always use this option" when you plugged it in one time, maybe on purpose, maybe on accident, but who cares, that's probably what it is. Is that option even existing on certain roms? I just checked, mine doesnt say that. Worth a shot lol.

Crap, I think you're right! Trying this now; i disabled everything. Will report back with results.
UPDATE: Nope, that wasn't it. PC Synchronization isn't even an option for me to enable/disable.

Not the issue here. I'm not a noob.
But why disable debugging? I've always been able to do both simultaneously without issue. Until Fresh Toast 2.1, that is.

Negative.
Is it possible that it is recognizing it as a charger instead of a computer? Have you tried other cables and/or computers?

Scenario:
User had a Galaxy S6 T-Mobile and the USB would charge but not allow a data connection (no detection in windows).
Phone is rooted.
User was playing around in "developer options" and accidentally enabled OEM lock somehow.
Now the phone says "custom binary blocked by FRP lock" when the phone boots and then shuts off.
He gave it to me and I've read about several fixes involving Odin but I am unable to get any computer to detect the phone while in download mode.
I thought that maybe the USB module was bad so I meticulously removed and replaced the USB module (I have all the right tools after doing screen repairs for years).
It didn't make a difference. The phone will charge with USB but it won't boot except to download mode and it won't detect on any PC that I try it on. It's not a driver issue, it doesn't even detect at all so you never get to the install driver step.
Is this a brick now or is there any hope besides motherboard replacement?

I always recommend smartswitch... have you tried that one?
Smartswitch won't work because the computer won't detect the phone USB for some reason
Any other thoughts?

Thanks, the problem is I cannot get the phone to detect on any PC with any USB cable. I even replaced the USB module inside the phone thinking maybe it was faulty. Something is preventing it from being detected.
Just checking back one more time before I take this perfectly good phone to the shooting range. Any more thoughts from anyone?
I went through the process of requesting Unlock and got a text message the same day saying my phone is approved. But every time I connect to Mi Unlock in fast boot, my phone isn't recognized and I'm unable to get any action from the unlock button when clicked. Any solutions or thoughts?
My phone is recognized my my PC as a storage device when connected, so I think it's not a driver issue. I did read around XDA about a 3 day wait period, however I've already received my approval. Do I still have to wait?

72h wait period is indicated by that tool: "Mi account is not active on this device long enough, you need to wait additional XX hours" kind of message.
That points to Mi account (same one you have requested unlock with) needs to be added to the phone (72h timer starts ticking the moment you have added mi account to the phone)
If your phone is not recognized at all it is completely different story.
Things to check in developer options (if you do not have it enabled yet tap few times on about phone -> MIUI version):
- OEM unlock
- USB debug - not sure about that but all guides for any phone I have checked tend to mention this one as well.
I'm not new to rooting and all. With that said, I'm not pretty good at this too. So all I wanted to know is that is there some kind of workaround to the 7 day wait. Like some modded version or anything like that.
Thanks in advance.
No, it does not exist. you have to wait 7 days.

Oh okay. So I have to keep my mobile connected to it for all that time? Or should I do "Add Account" in my mobile developer settings and wait 7 days to connect my mobile to my laptop?
exactly. add your MI account in the developer settings and OEM Unlock.
Then download MIUNLOCK, connect to the MI account and try the unlock. Then the timer starts.
Well, ik this sounds a bit dumb but i didn't quite get it.
The timer starts when:
I add my account in the developer settings
Or
I connect my phone to my lap and click on "unlock".
Also if its the second one. Do i have to keep my phone connected for 7 days and i can't use it?
The timer starts when you confirm that you want to unlock.
Afaik: You can disconnect it, you can use it, you can turn it off, you can take the SIM out. On the 7th day you need to turn it on again with SIM inside. Be careful not to start the 7 day timer again when the 7 days are over.
And how can I possibly "restart the timer".
Thanks for the reply!
No, there's no other way to skip the 7 days. Unless you try to unlock phone that ia older than 2 years, I believe, MiUnlock will automatically unlock it (need further confirmation, happens to some people)
I believe you can accidentally "restart" the countdown if you swap your sim with different sim that is used to request the unlock, or stay offline/airplane for too long (3-5 days). Safe bet is, keep your phone on, don't swap the sim, and stay connected to internet as best as you could until you have successfully unlocked it.
Ohh okay. I finally get it.
Thanks for the help guys! I really appreciate it.
Use it for few mins every other day. Connect to wifi, take picture, play soke game etc.

If you use your phone as always and as long you do nothing more with account settings or OEM unlock, you are OK.
The timer restart if you try the unlockprocedure again from start.

When starting with unlock you need to enable some settings in developer options.
After this you start the unlocktool, after a short time (99%) you see the wait time of 168 hours.
Everytime if you start the unlocktool after this, you see that waiting time will be lower.
But...........
If you change some of the before enabled settings in developer options, that clock starts again for 168 hours, because he thinks that this is the start of a new unlock attempt.
My advice: Stay away from settings for that week.
If you use your phone as always, nothing happens with resetting the wait clock.
If you start the unlocktool after 168 hours, everything runs as expected (100%) and you bootloader will be unlocked and all data will be erased. So make a backup before.

The question is: why is it locked?
Stolen or how you have locked?

After software update, I made a call, suddenly hangup and restarted and it landed in activate device. Though I have the login credential, I'm unable to type as the keyboard is not showing up. As my warranty got over Mi team mentioned to change the board outside.
Just finding solutions online.

You have a soft bricked device now. I have seen this issue happen with a colleague. The device was still locked. So we tried to reflash with the MiAssistent several time, but no going away of the “system ui not responding”. It's constantly rebooting. For those that are experiencing after MIU update "front camera not working" or the SIM1/SIM2 tray not working is the first sign of bad MIU update . I have seen the youtube video's of desoldering and reballing the cpu solving the issue.

I am assuming touch screen itself works since you could press those menus. If you can also see the space to type, but keyboard don't appear then it maybe solvable by below method.
Once in a pinch, similar situation ;I had success by attaching a physical keyboard with USB adapter which I used to type. But from the sound ofnit, the motherboard isn't so well.
