One, you're sure you have a Droid Turbo and not another Quark like Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx XT1225? Sorry, I have to ask. Because while you can install this ROM on an XT1225 you won't get any mobile signal or Wi-Fi. Which is exactly your symptoms...
If you do have Droid Turbo XT1254, boot into TWRP and flash this Clean Modem file.
Clean_modem_status.zip
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24531035584725320
Then, flash THIS modem. It's ONLY the TWRP-flashable MCG24.251-5-5 modem -- not + bootloader like you flashed before. I want you to flash this AFTER you flash the clean modem file.

If that doesn't solve your problems, just as an experiment, flash this Quark custom kernel. It will work with all stock firmware, including this stock-based Computerfreek ROM. Kernel especially controls Wi-Fi, besides modem.
BHB27 custom kernel for Quark

Check your APN also. I don't know which carrier you have, it's possible the wrong APN settings are preventing connection. That shouldn't affect your Wi-Fi, but I'm looking for solutions.

Well, yes i do have a XT1254.
I wiped the phone for clean installing, flashed both files in order, then flashed Computerfreek 1.0.8
Still got no Wi-Fi, so i tried flashing BHB27's kernel, same result...
Now i remember a similar issue but in a brazilian rom, it boots but you have to flash your own modems, and i think this ones should work
ill keep u updated

Did you have another ROM other than the stock cf274 before you started flashing? Are you on Verizon?

Well i had RR, then Stock, then Computerfreek
In RR and Stock it worked pretty well
And nope, i ain't in Verizon

OK I think this will work, you will need to clean everything including internal memory, then through twrp file mgr and your PC copy the latest bootloader and radio and cf274 ROM to internal. Be sure to use the ones for the country you are in. Sometimes there are files left over from RR that interfere with going to Cf274 ROM. I had that problem back sometime and by wiping everything a few times and following his instructions for your area it should work. Good luck
Been thinking, what version of twrp are you using? Latest bhb27 one?

Yes, on that Brazilian ROM posted over here you have to flash your own modem, like the one I linked to. BUT on that ROM you can only use the kernel listed in that thread. It's an older BHB27 kernel but it's compatible with that ROM. You cannot update the kernel without issues.

Yeah, wiping everything in TWRP never hurts, for a really clean install. Just make sure you have all your materials (stored on PC) handy to drag over from PC to TWRP to install again. You don't want to be searching for stuff with a dead phone on your hands that you can't reboot. Test your PC-to-TWRP connection before wiping.
One more suggestion. Flash back to stock completely, see if it works. Then try to flash to the ComputerFreak ROM?

Custom ROM (Safestrap) For XT862 flashed with XT883 China Telecom

Hiii
I have XT862 flashed with XT883 (purchased from e bay). It has around 3 GB app partition.
Safe strap doesn't work (Back Option) on this phone due to some partition mapping issue. (Known issue for XT 883, ME863)
Sr. member TBBle suggested a tweak with safestrap & with that I am able to Backup my phone, do disaster recovery etc.
But whenever I install a ROM in safe system it boots to black screen. I tried with Maverick 4.5 & CM7.2 both same result.
I am not able to decide if it's safe strap problem or ROM compatibility with XT883.
So please suggest me what shall I do?

I have a xt860 and sometimes when I flash something in safestrap and reboot I get a blank screen as well (it almost looks like the screen is off). I just pull the battery and then it boots fine. Maybe that will help if you haven't tried doing it yet, otherwise I'm not sure how to help sorry.
Well I have same issue. I already saw you post in other forum in 4.5 Mav ROM thread.
What are you looking for ? Use TATA CDMA OMH on Droid 3 ??
If Yes, message me, I shall give you a way out. Using mvp's method, you can use any Verzion ROM or custom ROM with Droid 3.
The issue is we can't use Maverick ROM with XT883, do you know any ROM compatible with XT883 ?
may be need Verizon 890 stock rom and XT883 rom mixed together.
flash the mixed rom, which should use safestrap.
Verizon 890 files:
1.boot.img 2.cdrom 3.cdt.bin 4.device_tree.bin 5.lbl 6.logo.bin mbm.bin
7.allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm-.bin 8.ebr 9.mbmloader.bin 10.mbr
11.preinstall.img
xt883 rom files:
others files except above.
recovery.img file I am not sure whether xt883 or verizon, need test.
modify xml according to md5 of these files.
I'm pretty lazy, if someone successful please tell me,hahahaha!!!!!

Thanks, please guide. I want my phone to work with both GSM/CDMA sim cards, as it's working now. Have not dared to remove stock ROM just cause I am not sure if I will get the same functionality after changing the ROM or not. Due to that reason only I was trying to taste it with safestrap, but of no use.
Thanx for your help, & sorry for late reply, seems I forgot to subscribe the the thread.

No luck till now. I have tried (in safe mode) CM7.2, AOKP 40, Milestone 6, XT862 .906 ROMs. All installs fine but won't boot at all.
Will update you as soon as I get any thing to work. Or may be we have to SBF with some verizon ROM & then only it will work.

Actually till now I am not even sure if it's ROM compatiblity issue or safe strap version or my Phone current ROM.

For now I'm only using Xt883 ROM.

flash Verizon 890 stock rom
then use moto-fastboot flash 4 files of xt883 rom,boot.img system.img recovery.img radio.img
moto-fastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
moto-fastboot.exe flash system system.img
moto-fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
moto-fastboot.exe flash radio radio.img
then use recovery to update ota 60.3.250 and GMS package.
root.
Droid3Safestrap 2.00 works normally.

Did you get them to work with GSM/CDMA both after flashing verizon.
Does the verizon dialler has recording button while in call.
Does FM works on verizon ROM.
I know how to SBF, do you know any link for .906 ROM which can be SBFd, or I have to flash .890 & then apply update for .906.

Also I haven't really used the stock rom, directly flashed MavROM 4.5 with safestrap, so I don't know about the verizon features in stock...

VZW KK APN Settings

Somehow during my update to the 24A baseband, I lost my APN settings (there are no entries), and therefore have no mobile data ("Mobile Network State: Disconnected"). Where can I find the APN settings for my vzw g2? I found a site that claimed to have the correct VZW apn settings (can't post links yet, just google "buzzmobile verizon apn" and it's the top result) but for some reason, whenever I try and set the MNC to 012, the entire APN entry disappears from the menu. Entering all the other settings and leaving the MNC at its default (I think it was 004) didn't resolve my internet connection. Any ideas? I was thinking I could probably revert to stock KK using the kdz method, but since that'd be rather time consuming, if there's any way I could just flash a quick fix or something I'd prefer that.
I'm running Mahdi 6-28 build, V6 patch, 4.4.4 PA mini gapps, 24A baseband
After several hours of searching and troubleshooting I found a fix. Trying to make APN entries didn't lead anywhere, and editing the apn-conf.xml also did nothing. I had flashed 4 or 5 different 4.4.4 roms (some stock, some AOSP) and still nothing, but for whatever reason, doing a wipe and flashing XDABBEB's VS98024A v1.2.1 ROM (can't post link sorry) fixed my mobile data. I then did a system/cache/dalvik/data wipe and reinstalled Mahdi 6-28 and boom I have Mahdi with working LTE. Sorry for the spam I guess, but maybe this will help anyone having similar issues.

Ran into the same exact issue on a friend's phone. Going to try this out. Regardless if it works, thanks for the post!
UPDATE: It worked. The 24a bootstack includes the new modem and properly formats relevant partitions. I flashed XDABBEB's ROM just to replicate your exact procedure but this shouldn't be necessary. The bootstack is all that is needed when coming from a 12b rom.

Having the same issue and flashing the 24a bootstack without the ROM does nothing. About to return this phone, it seems like nothing works correctly unless you are on the POS bloated stock ROM. What a shame, such potential on this device. Oh well.

Return it to stock, let it take the KK OTA, root it, autorec for recovery, flash your 24A based rom of choice, that always works for me.
I had Carbon running fine on mine til I got bit by the black line issue. I haven't put AOSP on the replacement, probably will soon..

Haha I should have clarified. I meant that flashing the 24a bootstack and THEN flashing a 24a-based rom should do the trick. Flashing the 24a bootstack, XDABBEB's rom, and then (clean) flashing another 24a-based rom is redundant.
Thanks, doesn't matter now. Phone fell 1 foot and cracked to hell and touchscreen no longer works.

You need to provide a lot more information if you want some help. What firmware are you on? What version of SafeStrap did you install? What ROM did you try to install? What steroids did you take? Which modules did you flash? Does your stock ROM boot?
Always provide as much information as possible, it will increase your chances of getting help.

Let me try, because I think I have the same issue. I'm running 4.4.2, and I used safestrap 3.73 to create a rom slot and install Hyperdrive. I wiped everything it said to before I installed it, and installed the latest masterpatch after and rebooted. When it rebooted, it appears to have gone into my stock ROM. Everything is the same, except my network doesn't work because it says my SIM card isn't inserted. Any ideas?

*edit* apparently a wipe this time around reset my entire phone. No idea why. Is there a manual on this program somewhere? I keep getting told to search and I'll find it, but all I've found is about five lines worth of instructions.

You cannot use ROM slots with SafeStrap 3.73. You have to install ROMs to your stock ROM slot overwriting your stock ROM. So make a backup before you flash anything. The developer of SafeStrap took a new job and had to abandon development before he could fully implement ROM slots on 4.4.2. I know it's difficult to find but the information is there. Thank you for trying to find it before posting.
EDIT: just so you're aware, I'm still on 4.2.2, so I haven't actually had any experience with SafeStrap on 4.4.2. I'm just relaying information I've read. So definitely do some reading before you do anything in case I'm wrong. Yeah, if that information is out there, it's pretty deep. Like, Mariana's Trench deep. At least now it'll be up front. So basically, SafeStrap is a custom recovery in itself, bypassing the need for an unlocked bootloader?

SafeStrap does not bypass the bootloader, it loads after the kernel loads so there is no way to install a custom kernel. This means that you can only use ROMs that are compatible with your stock kernel, no AOSP ROMs and no CM. You can only use TouchWiz-based ROMs.

That is the way it was intended to work, but Samsung changed some things in 4.4.2 and the developer didn't have time to reimplement ROM slots before he left.

I got it working. I have the 4.4.2 kernel and the Graviton ROM flashed after using Safestrap to make a backup. After I flashed the rom, I wiped dalvik and cache, flashed the master patch v.2, wiped again, and rebooted. Everything works except the stock camera app, which I'm currently looking for a fix.
master patch link??

You need to flash the modules after flashing the ROM to get everything working again. Make sure you do it before you allow Hyperdrive to boot for the first time.
Also, in order to use Odin you cannot have Kies installed.

[G800H] No SIM detected after upgrading to 6.0.1

So I've tried installing the various 6.0.1-based ROMs, but every single install results in my phone not detecting my SIM cards. I've looked around for a bit on the various subforums, and it might have something to do with the baseband-version I'm using. Unfortunately, I can't find a single post that explains which version I need or whats steps I need to follow. I've tried these:
Using Odin, first I flashed this stock Indian 4.4.2
Followed by this stock Indian 5.5.1
Flash TWRP via Odin, full wipe and install a 6.0.1 custom ROM + GApps via TWRP
I've also tried a variation with the Russian 4.4.2 / 5.5.1 branch, but no luck there either.
In the end, my G800H will boot up fine, do the whole "starting apps" process and launches the ROM setup introduction, but it fails to detect any of the inserted SIM cards.
I can restore an older version just fine and the SIMs will function again, so I'm guessing it has to do with the firmware... Can anyone tell me which firmwares I need to flash and in which order? Or should I wait till a western European 6.0.1 firmware is released?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
You have G800H dual sim, right? Then you need the first Russian Lollipop ROM, which ends in BOI2. You may need to flash it twice to make sure you have the correct bootstack. If your SIMs aren't working with it then first install KitKat (twice again, if needed) then go to Lollipop. Then flash TWRP and then custom ROM.

Heya, I remember you giving me this reply in another thread (The SlimROM one? Can't recall).
So just to be sure, you mean this order?:
2 x Russian 4.4.2
2 x Russian 5.1.1
Custom ROM
I'll give it a shot, but I doubt these will work - why do I need to flash the same ROM twice? Is this described somewhere? Some file that doesn't get written in the first pass?
Thanks again!
Welp, apparently I'm an idiot. I did what I described above here, and it worked - both SIM cards were detected and everything works perfectly fine (CM 13 by JackEagle). Thanks again for your advice, @lfom - I was skeptical, but flashing the files twice seemed to have done the trick, for some reason I still don't understand.

Many reported downgrade success only after second flash. My guess is Odin gets confused somehow with downgrades and only flashes the full ROM after detecting partitions flashed the first time.

I have no idea how many versions of the G800H/DS there are (Maybe some branded versions by AT&T, Verizon, etc), but unless you bought it from a provider, you probably have an international version. And yes, that is the first firmware you will need to flash - make sure you flash it twice, followed by G800HXXU1BOI2, also twice. After that, use Odin to flash TWRP again and install whatever custom ROM you want (After a full wipe, of course).
Like I said in the SlimROM thread, it's pretty hard to brick these Samsung Androids. While the stock Samsung ROM may be crap, the bootloader, in combination with Odin, will pretty much always allow you to recover your phone. Just make sure you don't do anything dumb like pulling the power or dataconnection while writing and you'll be fine

Well, that's as good an explaination as any, thanks! :highfive: I only hope this thread helps other G800H users who want to upgrade.
amazing! thanks for posting this fix... i spent 36+ hours over 2.5 days trying to fix this! don't think i've rebooted so much in my life!
initially i was double flashing with a Polish 4.4.2 before the russian 5.1.1 BOI2 but it didn't work until i used the exact same base roms in SomeDuder's post... then i used resurrection remix 6.0.1

Droid Turbo cannot detect SIM Cards on ROMs other than Stock

While I was running CyanogenMod, I suddenly had a devastating issue where the phone would not even detect SIM Cards, and Bluetooth would sometimes cause the phone to force reboot. Afterwards some custom ROMs have the same issues, and reboot literally randomly, sometimes endlessly bootlooping.
The stock 5.1 ROM also had the issues but also didn't wanna connect to WiFi.
I recently followed a guide to install the 6.0.1 update on the Turbo, and suddenly, everything worked again. No random reboots, Bluetooth working, and WiFi. However ANY other ROM would have the issues.
Is there something that the OTA 6.0.1 update fixes that all other ROMs cause these problems?
No one else has those problems on custom ROMs. So, there's nothing to "fix".
No one would be running any of the custom ROMs if they had such issues.
Stock 5.1 also didn't have connection issues nor Wi-Fi issues.
Flashing 6.0.1 stock reflashed your radio, which "fixed" your issue, probably. THAT was probably all you needed to do. You can also flash @bhb27 clear modem file, which fixes stuff like GPS. Sometimes flashing a custom ROM will confuse a radio/modem and clearing the cache/stats with that file helps as well as reflashing the radio.
I thought that might have been what happened, but even after flashing the 6.0.1, which has everything working, installing a custom ROM gives the issues. Before this I always thought my hardware simply failed but this is the only ROM where it works now, the 6.0.1.
So what I should try is clearing the modem status or reflashing the radio even after installing a custom ROM just to refresh the things?

Yes, some of your symptoms like the endless bootlooping seem very unusual. I don't know of radio-related issues that cause that. But not being able to use GPS, Wi-Fi connection issues, or even not detecting SIM cards are symptoms of radio/modem problems.
When flashing a custom ROM on our Quarks, GPS especially was a complaint. There were workarounds to fix it as early as 2015, but then @bhb27 (who is the dev for several custom ROMs) came up with the @bhb27 Clear Modem File. You flash that. In simplistic terms it clears the cache of your modem. It has helped countless people, with Droid Turbo/Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx.
Often just that fixes any issues, but you can also then take the next step of re-flashing the most current radio/modem for the Droid Turbo.
ROMs don't have radio/modems included inside the ROM. When you flash a custom ROM, it uses the radio you already have. Clearing the cache, and reflashing makes everything new again.
We've had custom ROMs for over two years now for our Quark phones. True the Droid Turbo XT1254 bootloader was finally unlocked back in November of 2015, but still that's been 1.5 years. There's tons of custom ROMs and if you look at the download stats of those ROMs there's THOUSANDS of people using them. If the ROMs had the issues you had, there would be no users, believe me!
The issue is for a percentage of people, not even a majority, but a percentage, the radio/modem becomes confused when flashing a custom ROM. But it's easily fixed...
Go look at this page from just two days ago. Similar issue with AOKP 7.X. EXCEPT it's NOT an issue with the ROM. It's the issue of someone not reading thoroughly.
Phone calls not working

Do NOT flash an XT1254 radio over an XT1225 or an XT1225 radio over an XT1254. I am including both radios in this thread for people who may need them.
The clear modem file/clean modem status file (whatever you want to call it) is for ALL Quarks, but the radio/modem files are very device specific.
I always keep a copy of the Clear Modem file and the latest TWRP-flashable radio in my Download folder on my phone. Whenever I flash a new ROM or even an update to a ROM, I always flash those files too. It can never hurt and can only help.

Unfortunately, flashing the clean modem.zip didn't bring about anything than a very temporal fix. Now it's basically a complete crapshoot as to whether I will get complete silence on my end and my mic muted for the other person, or whether the call will go through, but after some a mount of time I will lose all audio and my mic will mute. A couple times calling worked fine. Would you recommend flashing the XT1254 radio/modem zip you included now that I've flashed the clean modem?

Yes, if you have an XT1254.
In TWRP, flash back-to-back with the Clean Modem file first, then the radio/modem.
Then let TWRP clear all caches (it's an option anytime you "install" something), then reboot to system.

FYI: just re-flashing the modem doesn't fix all issues -- and just flashing the Clear Modem file doesn't always fix all issues (but it does fix a lot). However, a combination of the two, YES.
Back before the @bhb27 coded the Clear Modem file, just re-flashing the modem did NOT fix GPS issues which plagued a minority of users. I never had the issue, but for people that did have it, they complained and complained. For us who didn't have it, we couldn't figure out what they were doing "wrong".
Someone figured out a a very complicated workaround (going back to stock, getting a GPS lock, then immediately flashing the custom ROM, etc.) And then someone figured out they could share a TWRP backup of their "good" modem for people with GPS problems.
But the @bhb27 Clear Modem file FIXED ALL THAT, for GPS. All you had to do was flash that, after installing a custom ROM.
But for other radio/modem problems, some people flashing the Clear Modem file AND then re-flashing radio/modem is the key.
You can flash them both back to back in TWRP -- the Clean Modem file first, then the radio/modem.
