Screen protector?

Hello all,
So I was looking at the nillkin glass screen protector for the mi5s (not plus) and I saw many people complaining that the protector doesn't account for the curve of the glass very well which results in a lip all around the glass. Does anyone know anything about this? Have you had any of these problems? Are you currently using a screen protector which you would recommend? Thank you for your help.

I have tried two screen protectors from geekbuying and can confirm that they just don't fit. On both sides there is some screen sticking out because of its slight curve. It's very distracting when using the phone. I have also seen full covers on aliexpress but comments say it also cuts off some of the screen. So as far as I know currently none of the screen protectors fit perfectly.

Haven't been able to find any yet. The phone is very new so there's still hope.. If anyone has some info it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know of any phones with a similar screen shape that could fit if modified a little? Maybe the mi5 will fit if we cut out the fingerprint sensor part?

I'm with you. Since a proper glass protector doesn't seems to exist any plastic one should remedy the situation. Xiaomi should include a simple clear screen protector on all devices :/

get myself cheap($1.2) colorful full glass from aliexpress. fits just fine, its glued only with frame. tho as you can see on 2nd photo there are those little dots, you can see them on bright backgrounds.

It's a different type of screen protector, not a full cover, but still nice!

I laso made i mistake and i have bought original Nillkin Amazing H+ PRO 2.5D Tempered Glass... Looks terribly... See my picture in attachment. Edges of glass don't stick to screen well

Can someone post some pics of a glass screen protector they get that actually fits correctly? Im not going to buy another one until I see actual real life pics of no halo effects around the side as 99% of the Chinese sellers on aliexpress use fake/altered pics to make things look better than in real life for things like this because they know youll never return it and theyve got your money already even if it is only $10 I do prefer the full glass look without the added fake frame color

Honor View 10 Tempered Glass
I am getting my mobile tomorrow. Does it come with a tempered glass. If not, which one would you recommend from Flipkart / Amazon.in ?

So far no good tempered glass has been in market due to some unusual curved 2.5D edges of view 10. If trying full screen colored TG blue TG are never the same color of the fone itself.
What available left is only the nillkin tempered glass which is not full screen and least halo or no halo effect if applied properly

Has somebody already applied a Nillkin H+ Pro to their View 10? I would love to see few real-life pictures of the actual coverage. Thank you in advance, fellas.

I installed one, removed it after 5 sec. Result? An halo effect has I've never seen before... (sorry guys forgot to take a picture)
Now I have one that has the same color of my phone and without glue in the middle.

Please note the eugo3d would have to be blue, I suspect it would not match the exact blue of the device which is a cons.

Bump, any luck with better glass protection? Finally got myself a view 10 bought a glass protection but the screen is exposed on the sides really it's quite naff haha.

I bet that in a couple of weeks we will see full-screen full-adhesive screen protectors also known as 4D or 5D. Their price is between 8 and 15 USD but asfar as I am aware it is worth paying that amount for a full-adhesive full-screen protector.

I'd say it is quite urgent that these become available, given the weight and shape of the device if it hit a solid floor even with protection I don't think it would be able to withstand it !

I saw a screen protector on skinomi.com.It looks very promising,in my opinion,it is full screen,but it doesnt say if it has a 2.5d edge.What do you all think?

the border is a guide and ensure it is case friendly - but to each their own and halo

No Halo effect (like the black bordered screen protector that I had for my old Mi Mix) with these 5D black border screen protector for my Mi Mix 2s

It is like a non black bordered screen protector, and not at all like the one I had that was a black bordered screen protector for the Mi Mix.
The Halo effect is caused by the adhesive pad that is used around the black border part of the screen protector, and as such, the screen protector floats over the phone's screen, creating the halo or rainbow effect.
The black border screen protector I received this week does not have this adhesive on the underside of the black border, and as such, the entire underneath surface of the screen protector sits in direct contact with the phone screen and hence does not hover or float on the phones screen. This type of installation is like any other screen protector that just bonds to the phone's screen, thereby eliminating the halo effect.
MUCH easier to align than an undersized non black bordered screen protector.

Had this one. The adhesion is very nice, however the camera and sensor cutouts on the bottom chin have no adhesive on the glass and have the tendency to collect a lot of dust from eg. having the phone in my pocket. Had to tear it off, because my front camera became very foggy and not sharp from all this dust

Lol 5d. What does that even mean, I get 3d signifies it curves. Time to release a 6d superior screen protector

Just ordered a cheap one from ebay for 4€ and it's bad as expected.
So the nillkin is not good at all? My mi5 nillkin screen protector was awesome!

Actually, i had the choice to get the one with the black border (that covers everything) and this one. But i still chose this because its nilkin, and its a trusted brand.

Nillkin have the black border version too, named CP+
based on some user feedback, i believe it using hybrid materials, which screen area is still glass but black border is plastic like material, bendable

It's has full screen adhesive and there is a very thin black border, wasn't hard to line up, but that border has a lot thicker adhesive on it so its stuck to the curved edges of the glass really good.
Couldn't beat it for the price.

Non-glass Screen Protector

Hi all!
I'd like to get a screen protector for the phone, and I've found an abundance of the same tempered glass protectors on Amazon (all the same box with different logos) but I really don't care for the glass screen protectors that much.
Has anyone found a good plastic protector that works well?

The official Xiaomi film screen protector works great. Much thinner than a glass one, don't really notice it on.

I do have to say, that the CHYI 3D Curved Film from the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/xi.../problems-tempered-glass-try-chyi-3d-t3801912 is the best for me so far - I've changed about 4 protectors (3 glass and one film) and this one is the best so far (it's barely visible). I'm not sure though how tough it is - it looks like it's quite prone to scratches. I just applied it yesterday and can't tell yet.

I didn't get it at gearbest, but here it is. Xiaomi actually includes a practice screen guard so you can try to install that before you install the real thing.

Screen Protectors for the Mi 8

Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone has found any good screen protectors for their Mi 8, I'm looking for one and have no idea what ones are good/bad out there because I know with my Pixel 2 XL there are loads of really bad ones and a few good ones, some really good like the Whitestone Dome glass.
Unfortunately Whitestone don't sell protectors for this phone and I can't find any LOCA glue protectors anywhere, I'm going to be having a Spigen case on my Mi 8 so I need a protector that isn't full size rather a slightly smaller one. I also want it to be full adhesive without a dot matrix visible...
Any suggestions?

Don't think you will find any. Except if you go for a plastic film.
Normal tempered glass exists, covers the full front though, check out Mofi.

The CP+ for other phones has glue on it completely and it fully covers the front. You're saying that only the one for the Mi 8 isn't like that? Do you have any proof?

We don't have a curved screen, only the glass edges.
I watched the videos for other phones like the iPhone and Xiaomi phones and the glue was visibly applied to the center of the screen and there was no pentile matrix.
The H+ line doean't cover the screen completely, did anyone try that one at least?

Those were the ones I could find for that specific model. I'm just running the Mofi-protector, not full adhesive. Haven't found any with it.

I have a few screen protectors for the mi 8 and a lot of them have only glue around the bezel which makes the screen look bad like a LCD and I currently have one on which is glue which covers the display which looks better but the bezels dont look as nice as the others as they're just glass not painted

It costs a lot but it's probably worth it
Good thing we get a case with the phone, one expense less.

I'm indecise between the H+PRO and the CP+MAX. Does the CP+MAX looks bad? Does it have glue? I would love to see some pictures of those who applied it on their phones!
I am also afraid of the CP+MAX because i dont know if the cases are going to work well with that applied.

If you're worried about case support, take the H+ Pro.
I did order the CP+ Max for my Mi8 SE and I will put pics here once it arrives. As far as I see and as far as someone here already said, it has glue all over it, except for the Galaxy S8 ( or any phone with a curved screen ) .

Guys, can you use the same tempered glass for mi 8 EE, like you use for normal mi 8?

We can't. The SE has a smaller screen and a different form from the Mi 8.

AWW YISS, Nillkin CP+ for the win.
It completely covered the screen, the glue is all over it ( not only on the edges ).
The glass is smooth, touch works great, the screen isn't cut out by the black frame. It's perfect, at least for my SE.
It even works with the Xiaomi case ( it's actually a perfect fit, I had to have it on to ensure that the protector fit the phone properly ) .
There are absolutely 0 bubbles, as visible on the pic, although I had to reapply 4 times to place it perfectly. xD
