Fast charging slow - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi.
Has anyone else found that the charging is really slow?
when I use the cable on the plug or into my laptop, it seem much slower than my mate 10 pro was.
I also found battery drain to be far too much out of the box, and I had to switch off a lot of the background jobs.
I'm wondering if it's because I did a clone, as that seemed to mess up a lot of the apps and I had to do a few reinstalls

Noop, works fine and no drain

How fast does yours charge from USB or plug? my Mate 10 pro was really quick - it would do 5% in about 5 minutes. Mine's been stuck on 69%
Did you get yours fresh or clone it from another phone?
Just wondering if there's any caches I need to clear (there's no option in the boot to clear cache, it seems)

I did a fresh install, adds like 20% in a couple of minutes.
Does it say something like superquick charging?

Found a solution to the cache wiping issue (unplug the charger) , will see if that fixes the drain

Mine is fast when I used the SuperCharger but it's pitifully slow if you try to charge via any other means

Thé charge is very slow.... Why !!!??

My phone does 0%-50 % in 30 mins and 0-100% in about 1.5 hours (Supercharge). I haven't tried any other charger though.

I read that the charger is smart, when you have less 10% charge, it is optimized to charge super fast, but after 45% charge to normal mode, to avoid killing so many battery cycles.
Anyone knows, if i can use another charge and have supercharger too???

P20 pro fast charge faulty
I'm having to send my phone back to hauwei. My fast charge isn't working. They say I have a faulty phone. I'm not happy. I used the hicare app on the phone and live chat. They were good with me but no phone for two weeks whilst it in for repair

Hi Guys anyone was able to reslove their issue with regards to the supacharge, my P20 Pro hasnt been charging like it used to, Which i have the supacharge adapter and cable which came with the phone, it charges like 15%in 30 min, which i normally would get like 60+ in 30 min. Should i reset the phone? has it helped anyone after resetting?

Mine is really fast.

I have the same problem, I restored factory 2 times and nothing. I contacted Huawei and he told me to try another supercharger charger. I'll find another charger.

Coming from OnePlus3 - 0% to 60% in 30 min (tested many times), I am also not impressed by the Huawei P20 pro fast charging...
Tested again today, I got from 9% to 45% in 30 min.
Huawei claims the P20 pro will do 0% to 85% in 45 minutes.
I got from 9% to 80% in 1 hour!
I am on the latest Pie Rom - 9.0.0.195 and using the original charger + cable.
Any suggestions? I don't have another charger to test with...

lg flex charging problem

Hi, ive had the flex for about 3 weeks and it has worked perfectly. but since last day ive been getting a charging issue. usually, it takes 2 hours to charge completely but yesterday in 1 hour, it went from 15 to 19% but i was running bittorrent as well so i thought it was because of that and i removed the charger and put it on charge again this morning. after 2.5 hours, it went from 4% to 28%. bittorrent isnt running nor any other app and wifi is also off. so what would be the problem? and im using the original lg charger that came with the phone.
thanks in advance
Did you try rebooting the phone, and then charging it?
yes i just rebooted it and put it on charge again. its showing estimated time till charging complete as 9 hours 15 minutes .

Slow charging problem

My Huawei has a problem charging the battery, charging time is too long. He needs two hours to fill from 50% to 65% ?????? Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
How are you charging it? via a computer? What kind of charger do you use if you don't use a computer? The stock one that comes with the device or a different one?
Have you tried using a different charger for the phone?
I've never had any problems with charging my huawei ascend p7 and I'm using the stock charger that came with the device.
Also charging from my laptop seems to work fine for me.
Also, are you using a custom ROM?

the problem isn't your phone but same as you, i think the problem is in lollipop firmware, i have tested them, and now i reverted back to b623
other issue is the phone over heating when playing audio and video

I tried with a stronger charger and charge the battery quickly ....
I use samsung charger from very beginning, since from few days I'm facing this late charging problem
Hey, I got the same problem now. I do the same as alway (= same charger, cable, the same apps using, same android version, etc.) and now it got very slow charging unreasonably. I tried to change chargers, cables, plugs, but the same story appears.
to charge 1% up takes more than 3 -4minutes, before it was 50% less time...

slow charging reason

many of you have faced the slow charging of asus zenfone max pro m1....THIS IS DUE TO NEW UPDATE 327....the solution is
1)charge your phone in flight mode
2)turn off data if you dont want to use flight mode
3)dont use mobile while charging
4)during game play remove your cover and play as the heat does not no out when using covers
5)use battery saver mode while charging (reduces graphics and background running apps)
6)dont let the mobile charge go below 20

I used to get long charging times while using phone with a charger plugged in. Plus, using an extension usb cable didn't help. Last week, I put my phone down, plugged the standard USB cable that came in the box and voila, my phone gets 75% in about 2 hrs.
The 'removing the cover' bit helps generally since it helps better heat management.

Because if cover is worn the heat won't go out and battery gets damage
My unit immediately upgraded to 327 after I bought it and put the sim. So by the time I got home the ampere app reads around 700mah only when charging it with stock cable and adapter.
I tried different cable and adapter. I found that if I use a better cable (aukey cable) the amp will go up to 1800 mah.
It's either the cable isn't working 100% brand new, or that 327 updates fault.

The in-box cable works fine for me and gets me 1650-1850 mA most of the time.

Okay I noticed this issue recently. It takes me about 3 hours to charge from 20 to 100 whereas it took around 2-2:30 hours before. I'll try the solution posted by OP but I wish to know if anyone has info on whether this issue will be resolved anytime soon (maybe on the future updates?)

Honor 9 lite

I bought an Honor 9 lite it is 2 weeks old, been working fine, night before last it showed a notification message 'Battery temp. too low, functionality of phone may be affected'.
Since then it has rebooted, reset and all totally wiped back to factory reset, however now the phone when I plug it in to charge is charging but only goes as high as 2%.
Any ideas please, 2% charge is limited to what I can do within the phone and wont stay on long enough when connected to laptop through USB.
Saw someone mention calibrating the battery? would this fix it?
can anyone help please?

You can try recalibrating the battery.
But since you just bought the device taking it to the service center would most probably give you a free repair if it's a battery problem.
Recalibrating battery
How would I recalibrate the battery please? A step by step simple guide for a novice many thanks

Battery/Charging issue

Hey everyone, how y'all doing?
I've got this problem for 2 months now where the charging has been super slow and no idea why. I am using the official charger and cable that came with the phone, I used my wife's s20's charger with same result and a third party charger with 3 different cables with similar results. Accubattery recorded that my phone's battery health is at 86% (3460mah) should I change it and lose my water/splash proof?
Oh yes I have flashed a few different ROMs (currently using Dr Ketan) with the same results except for evolution ROM, with the aosp ROM I was able to charge my phone from 14 percent to 100 in 90 minutes which is kinda weird...
Any advice would really help thank you

Get yourself one of those 2$ USB doctors. It will tell you how much power the phone is taking in. i.e. Fast charge should be 9 volts at about .8 amps and slow charge 5 volts at 1.5+ Amps.
Make sure your port is clean and moisture levels are low i.e should be below 80%.
I had this problem once when moisture was over 80%. It then went away. But at that time the phone will warn you about the extra moisture. It will say Moisture detected in USB port Fast Charging disabled.
The second time this happened was after the update to android 10. Had slow charging and overheating and audio acting up but that went away after re-setting the phone a few times and clearing cache.
The latest update to Android 10 seems to be causing a lot of issues with Display, Audio and overheating / slow charging. My audio chip finally stopped working. And the phone is now with Samsung.
My 2 cents if you see overheating and slow charging. Stop using the phone while its still working and take it to Samsung. Because if you continue to use it something will fail. And Samsung will want to give you a big fat bill to change it.

Thanks for the advice and I'll see to it. It's just yeah it seems like after android 10 things have been degraded
So apparently turning off fast charging in options gives me a faster charge time. With fast charge on it takes from 7% to 100% in 3 and a half hours and with fast charge off it takes 2 hours only.... Maybe my fast charging "chip" / "module" is broke?

Unless you see something in there I do not advise poking around inside.
I suspect your problem is that the Samsung USB cable packed up. And your trying with all kinds of cables and chargers. Go to a Samsung Store and ask them to check with a Samsung Cable and Charger.
I went thru this circus a few months back.
The only solution is to get a Samsung Charger with a Samsung Cable.
Then make sure fast charge is on. For wireless and wired charging. Wipe your cache and you should be ok.
I have seen way too many damaged USB ports from people trying to clean it. When there was nothing in there to start with. Use compressed air. If you see something in there.
