Has anyone downloaded the free preview for this app? It looks awesome and has a user edit built in.
Finally a different home setup that really changes the interaction.
Yep - MASSIVE editing abilities. Great start and should hopefully get better. The app scrolling is faster than the standard Android home in my experience, no lag at all! Few force closes while editting here and there but mostly remembers what you edited when it relaunches. Calendar seems broken for me, only shows a handful of what appointments I actually have coming up. Still in Beta though so with improvements could be exceptional.
Tried it out last night, not really my cup of tea. I like Open Home much better. Also, it force closed on me countless times, untill it just got too annoying and I uninstalled.
OK this thing has some pretty great potential. I'm going to build some screens and upload screen shots later. EG, no need for folders, you can create a realtime scrolling tray and drag apps into it.
Good stuff so far. Shows a lot of potential. I think you should be able to span background wallpapers like in normal home, and not just the same image stretched for every pane. I think there also needs to be more controls over the layout options. Good start. I wish the other home alternatives had this kind of customization.
Maybe I'm just lazy or maybe it's that I've gotten used to using dxTop, but the layout of it is horrendous! I mean, I even think all the screens of aHome is better than that. Up, home, right, home, left, home, etc. I found it annoying within the first 5 minutes.
its not about UI right now
this has more potential than all the other home screen changing applications which mostly all they do is change icons...and added extra screens, this goes beyond it and makes your G1 efficient and business savy, recent calls, texts, etc all in front of the screen.. like yes it has UI problems, but the potential of ACTUAL customization is beyond these other applications, and they charge..
with their lite versions etc.
it has made the home page a personal thing, and isn't that what we all love, personalization.

For introductions, that's all it's about. I'm not talking about themes or anything else, but the layout is crap. The idea may be good and maybe if those tabs stayed on each screen so you don't have to constantly go back to the center to get anywhere it would be more efficient. But, as it stands if I'm not impressed by how it looks, I'm not even going to waste my time in testing it out...same as how I won't give a website a chance if it's appearance is lacking. First impressions are everything.
so im guessing, judge a book by its cover.
i agree with the UI being hideous.
but compared to ahome, dxtop and open home, all they're done is the same thing, a couple widgets, extra pages (that just move differently from each other) and changing icons. that's it..
yehs, sweeter home is not good to look at, its the ugly duckling right now, but with all its features and the developer open for suggestions and implementing things, it's far better than the other home applications.
i gave it a chance and tested the product out before making any ASSUMPTIONS and i like the features but not the UI, but everything is a work in progress and the developer actually went beyond just chaning major icons, adding an extra page and widgets like what OTHER HOME applications have already done.
I make no assumptions, merely observations. I don't like the UI and attraction is the first step to any partnership. I never said I wasn't willing to give it a shot later, you assumed that. I said as it is now, it sucks.
From my experience with dxTop, the UI works with the theme I have on my phone. There are no extra downloads or specifics that I have to implement. I'm not saying it's the best, but that's a lot better than any of the others are doing.
Tried it, a little too much for me.
I like it simple. Open Home for me.
Here's screen 1, 2 and 3 I've set up so far. Few bugs I've found (app TRAY has started duplicating the actual apps in it for every new tray added, not sure why)... anyway, looks pretty good and once more stability and features are released this will be my default home I think...
Left is SMS's with quick links to contact apps below.
Middle is (top) most used apps, (middle) all apps, (bottom) communication apps, (here's where I want more app trays but won't really work atm, I want a utils tray, games try, notes tray, and comms tray with all apps on a different screen).
Right is contact list.
--- Photobucket died right when I updated the images, stand by --
I think I figured out the tray duplication thing, just gotta test it. RENAME the trays! LOL.
EDIT: updated screen above. Got extra trays working - all scroll horizontally. Added labels to app trays and added labels to SMS and contacts list.
Next: "all" apps tray on the lower screen, and skin the calendar (even though it's broken) on the top screen...
I tried getting this app last night and a few times today but I keep getting "download unsecessful".

Can't find it man, I think I got it from http://g1wallz.com/ - or maybe in the wallpapers topic on here? I'll upload it later when I get time.
See, I cant find it in my market. Im assuming that Im having so much trouble with my market because I have an ADP Phone? I cannot purchase, Ahome or Open home (the paid versions dont show up)
i can't find it on market either- i did yesterday but it gave me download unsuccessful. since then i can't find it- maybe it has been taken off for fixing or something?
I tried backing it up with Astro but couldn't do it.
http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.sweeterhome.preview1 - Doesn't do it for you? There's a new version, I'm about to update.
EDIT: You can now long press in a tray to bring up shortcuts. Nice. Works with Anycut too, not BetterCut though

Hi all,
I saw the winmo 7 video other day in youtube. It looks great but it was like a dejavu for me. I have sony erricsson Xperia X1, in that we have a panel called Media experience, it is more or less the same as new winmo interface. (for those who haven't seen it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEQt8tGUuYg )
The only differences are that instead of txt showing you where you are (each time you get in a folder the name of the txt goes on top, that way you know where you are) in Media experience it shows you an icon

notice the icon on the right ( music icon) indicates that you are in music player. Oh yeah and unlike winmo7 it is in the left side. The thing that this is missing is the clock on the background (i photoshoped it) and the weather widget.
HTC UI is great but it also slows down the phone, that's why I prefer titanium. I was wondering if somebody could figure out a way to put a clock and weather widget with it. Some other pics,
That theme concept looks gorgeous. It's a brilliantly huge improvement over the default Titanium. However, it reminds me of the SE media manager. But nevermind that.
The clock on the top right corner looks ugly - it's doesn't blend well within the theme. I suggest that a plain text clock in the background should be implemented to give the theme a minimalistic and elegant look. I've worked up on the image to show you what I mean.
The menus should also have some transparency so the background and the clock are visible.
i think it's better the clock on the background but the icon only the bigger at the center end take away the little one at the left!
d3thstalker your picture looks exactly what I was thinking. I did a quick paintbrush work so it looks awefool. But yeah this is what I was talking about, how though
It would be really awesome if someone could develop this for us. I have no background in developing anything or whatsoever. However, I'd like to extend my help to wherever I can.
EDIT: Perhaps if someone could post links to guides or tutorials on editing the Titanium menu, I can try something.

It doesn't look that difficult, it's worth a try. But you are reminded again that I have no background in these things or whatsoever, so don't get your hopes too high, I might simply dump the project if I can't do it.
I'm handling some workload from my office atm, I'll begin immediately after that. I'll flash my phone to WM6.5.3 today, however, to take a look at how this whole thing works. On second thought, it would be better if someone could pass me the following files from the WINDOWS directory on their phone - bronzeres.dll, CHome_listback.png (hidden file) and Titanium_240x320.cpr

Where can I upload these?
Maybe My email, [email protected]
Ok I just sent it to you. I looked at the tutorial too, when I opened the bronzess.dll in PE explorer I see lots of icons, starting with the number of 2000 to 4000. I can guess how to change the icons, but I dont understand how can I change the system of how icons are being shown. I mean in "Media Experience Panel" when you tap on something it goes to the left side. How do make that happen? Anyway I dont know anything about programming.
Hope somebody comes up with a solution.
I understand the link between the registery, the bronzeres.dll and the way the icon are displayed. However, I still don't understand how to shift the icons to the left side. I think that has something to do with Titanium_240x320.cpr.
I don't think that it's possible to make the icons shift to the left upon clicking them because I have never seen that in a theme. I think that would require the Titanium code to be re-written or something, which is beyond me.
EDIT: This modding of titanium is too hard for me, I don't understand several aspects of it. I am letting go of it here.
Ok I think I figured it out. Its not Titanium that can do this stuff. It is actually this
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/cws/devworld/technology/windows-mobile/xperia-x1?cc=gb&lc=en
which probably can do this. Hmmmm............ I guess I have to do this all by myself

+1 i'd like to see this. even a beta is alright.
some news on windowsphonehacker-website
this requires root access on your device.
It will work with custom roms or moreover maybe if you installed Heathcliffs new WP7 Root Tools 0.9!
LockWidgets 2
jaxbot has official released the final lockwidgets 2!
The app is a rewrite of the original popular LockWidgets application, and adds data such as battery or weather to your phone’s lock screen.
http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/release_lock_widgets_2-07-03-12
LockWidgets
jaxbot has official released lockwidgets! You can pin weather, rss feeds, twitter-news, and ram-info on lockscreen. If someone has problems with tranparent lockscreen, uninstall dynamic background and try it again. The service for Lockwigets will be shut down in near future.
http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/lock_widgets_official_release-03-28-12
Dynamic Background
"The app basically allows you to set a dynamic background, either the Bing background of the day or a custom slideshow, and the app will update the wallpaper with a background task."

Good News! Was waiting for that. I'm testing it.
it's work !!

It's not working for me, I'm Interop and Dev unlocked, when Jaxpot says "rooted," is that something different?

This means Full-Unlocked as in Custom ROM. Maybe Heathcliff's root tools might be able to do this. Try asking in his thread if your device doesn't have full-unlocked custom ROM's.

Lockscreen Widgets not working properly
Hey guys,
first of all, thanks for the post and thanks to jaxbot for developement of this app!
I installed it without any problems, then ran it and configured everything. The preview works fine but when I exit the app and go to lockscreen, I`m greeted with the oldschool pic of standard lockscreen. Any sugestions what I`m doing wrong?
Edit: Running Mango interop unlocked on Omnia7. Thought this device is fully unlocked, but I guess this was a mistake of mine...

you don't need the zip-code.. typ in your city and it will work!!
the mess lockscreen you can change, go to phone-settings and choose a original background of your choice there... then the lockscreen look normal..
looks cool, but will the weather auto update ? and in what time interfall ?
EDIT :
•Your device must be rooted. More specifically, the application needs root privileges. Right now, only people with custom ROMs may use this application. People with interop-unlocked devices will soon be able to use it, thanks to Heathcliff74's upcoming WP7 Root Tools 0.9 app.
•The "debug" widget adds the last updated info to the bottom of the screen. This is useful stuff for testing.
•The widgets update every 30 minutes. This is due to background task restrictions.
Any word when the stock version is coming?
Finally did mine work! I just didnt like the fact that lockscreen wallpaper is too restrict and can cause a mess if u dont put the correct settings. Thought that choosing Bing wallpaper it would change itself...
today are Lock Widgets official released....
I successfully installed and ran Heathcliffs WP7 Root Tools 0.9 on my interop-unlocked VZW HTC Trophy and was able to install, run, configure, and even preview lockwidgets. But when I go to the lock screen the screen is a scrambled mess and looks like a vertical/horizontal sync issue (looks bad and is jumping around). I had to uninstall to get a usable lock screen back.
P.S. I elevated lockwidgets before running it BTW.
Intalled it on my Focus S.
Together with WP Root Tools 0.9.
Works fine now.
A question: when you start it, it says it will generate a lot of traffic to the WPH cloud.
Any idea whhy and what for? When using Bing images I can imagine it, but transferring some weather info shouldn't, right? That's the only Widget I'musing.

firstly, the daily bing background image enlarge the traffic..
the widgets like rss feeds or twitter news produce a lot of traffic, too.. the traffic for weather widget must be the same, like in other weather-apps..

did you install the latest version? did you choose bing background or your own image in the app? if you get a scrambled mess screen, try to choose a normal background in phone settings. Then update again or try to choose a image in lock widgets .
I also had the same problem as our friend LiFePo4, my lock screen went nuts.
Uninstall the application, the install went back and followed the same background ..... I put a screen lock and application prederteminado Widgets Lock does nothing even when set, that is no longer anything that comes configured in the application on the screen lock.
Most users do not know if ltienen the same problem, I have a HTC Trophy with DFT v3 Rom ...
Sorry for my bad translations
Hi Guys,
Wonder if anyone can help me please.. (I'll spare you the details of the paths/routes Ive taken, as it will subract you away from initial cause). However, I have tried with Xposed (App Settings), after eventually getting APKTool to work, I've tried to decompile/recompile, and although they all work/install and that, the size isn't changing...
From research, apparently our Note (N7000) uses a xhdpi on a normal screen size.
As you can see from the screenshot below, it's dwarfed in a small frame on a large screen....?? I've read that you can stretch Apps by adjusting the AndroidManifest.xml settings, but I've tried and not had any luck... So hoping someone with more experience maybe able to help?? please

Seems strange that Samsung have not tested their Apps to work fully with all their models? As you can't even download the App directly from PlayStore using the N7000. I've had to download it on my ZTE Blade (which works fine) and copy it over...
So whilst I appreciate you may not be able to distribute modified Apps publically, so if anyone can help and either PM the modified version. Or post hints/suggestions on how to make the App stretch full screen, would be most appreciated...
Many thanks, Lister
You may try to decompile the app and then edit the dimens.xml file and check.. But the AppSettings module should work. Just try lowering the screen size of the app.
Hi nokiamodeln91,
A-ha, we meet again... Thanks for your help/suggestions.... I did have a little look at this last night, and tried a variety of AndroidManifest.xml settings (previously trying mod this was a challenge, as the XML was encrypted) plus I couldnt decompile (APKTool wasnt working).
However tried various settings below... tried with all screen sizes and density, and forced xhdpi...
Not sure exactly what settings to force??
<supports-screens android:resizeable=["true"| "false"]
android:smallScreens=["true" | "false"]
android:normalScreens=["true" | "false"]
android:largeScreens=["true" | "false"]
android:xlargeScreens=["true" | "false"]
android:anyDensity=["true" | "false"]
android:requiresSmallestWidthDp="integer"
android:compatibleWidthLimitDp="integer"
android:largestWidthLimitDp="integer"/>

AppSettings didnt seem to make any effect either, and I even chose the 1280x800 and fullscreen options....
Not sure what else I can try....??
Can't believe Samsung have not tested this App with their own hardware???
Thanks, Lister

Tried to decompile and different settings but nothing much. Just the main screen stretches but then when you enter the remote, it goes back to small view. There are a lot of not so good review of the app on Samsung site itself.
Hi nokiamodeln91,
Wow, thanks man... You did better than I did.... I couldnt even get the first screen to stretch/fullscreen, let alone anything else...
What chances did ya do, to make that happen??
And yeah, not really read many of the reviews for the App yet. It's annoying, because on my old phone (ZTE Blade) it works fine, fills the screen lovely. And the App itself is actually not bad at all.. Works with my BluRay player perfectly...
However on the N7000 (which Samsung make themselves anyway) neither the phone App works to full screen, nor the Tablet version will even install...??
Is there anyway to hack the Tablet version to get that to install on our N7000?? Happy to provide the APK to that if you wish to have a play...??
Thanks, Lister

Hi @nokiamodeln91,
Sorry to bother you again, but with your knowledge in this field vaster (is that a word?) mine.... Was wondering if you was able to take a look at this file for me, and see if there was a way to make this one work on the N7000 ?? As it looks like it has the right graphics/folder layout for our device, in that it supports the XHDPI format...
http://www.sendspace.com/file/1naab7
http://www.sendspace.com/delete/1naab7/3b9aa685347a50968e2911a8dd5aad97
However it refuses to install on our device. And if manually copied onto the phone's storage (data/app or system/app) folder, it will show up as installed but when run, crashes out...
Was wondering if you knew what permission/function it is trying to pull/use to say that it can only run on Tablets. Whether this function/feature could be removed, so not dependant on Tablet hardware....
If its too much hassle, please dont worry about it... Just annoying to have a Samsung BluRay player, a Samsung phone, and a Samsung App, and it displays on our screens as though it was created for the first ever SMALL touchscreen phone... lol
Thanks, Lister
No bud. Can't get it to install. Tried a little mix N match with the phone and tab resources and smali but still can't get it to install. Sorry man. Couldn't be of much help here..
Hi @nokiamodeln91,
No worries my good friend, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to try though.... Much appreciated, as is always with your help!!!
Darn Samsung... Grrr... lol
Cheers mate,
Lister
Please bear with me if this seems like the dumbest post in the world.
Ok, so right up until a few weeks ago, i loved the split screen feature on my phone. It was as easy as hitting the square button on the bottom, choosing split screen on one app, app folds itself up creating a space below, and then selecting another app to share the screen with. Easy peezee. Could have a video playing in VLC while perusing rss feeds in Newsfold, either on top of one another in portrait mode or side by side in landscape etc. Even my long dead grandmama could do this.
Fast forward to one day last month, i download some usual pixel update prompted by phone, only to discover my oft used split screen is now no more, but now "split top". It doesn't split the screen like it used to do, and i can't figure out how this split top thing is supposed to work. Plus it always says "Pixel Launcher keeps stopping" after several attempts to use the split top function, which is indicating that Pixel Launcher has crashed. But i din't use Pixel Launcher or have it as my default, i've always used Nova Launcher.
Basically i was doing just fine until whatever this update (which i am assuming is 12L) that has ruined split screen for me.
Is there a way to go back to the old split screen way? Or, how the heck do you split screen with this "split top"? I searched around the web and can't seem to find a solution.
I'm really not enjoying my device or being as productive as i used to be.
Hello @LordLugard I just registered to reply here.
After wasting so much time trying to fix this bug on my end, and several factory resets where it didn't fail at the beginning but then it eventually did, I found the solution on another post of a different forum:
-Turn ON system animations.
That's it. That's how it got solved. If you turn them off, the new split screen doesn't work at all. I'm afraid this must be an Android 12.1 bug because I had the exact same bug in a Poco F2 Pro with Lineage 19.1 and Trebuchet as launcher, so it's not phone model specific, not ROM specific, and not even launcher specific.
I hope this helps someone

Thanks for the reply.
Where would you "Turn ON system animations"?
I have it in:
"Settings/Accessibility/Text And Display/Remove Animations"
I had this switch on (meaning no animations), what caused split screen to crash. Turning it off solved it.
Hmmm, doesn't work for me. Mine was already in the "OFF" position.
What the heck was ever wrong with the old simple way? It just worked.

Bummer, sorry that it didn't help. It just did for me.
I don't think so, but maybe you activated Developer options, and then changed the value of the animations scales?
Just to discard animation related settings.
I'm afraid I'm of no help beyond that
Well, what do you know...a bit of success.
Since time immemorial, i've always turned off animations in Developer Options to 0, as i do not care for all the fluffy visuals.
So on a whim i decided to tinker and set it to the lowest value, 0.5x, and that seems to work now. But the implementation is so much different than the old way, will take some getting used to. The old method was so much better.
Thanks for the input.
I'm glad it helped at the end!
I fully agree on everything, I don't want animations either, but we're stuck with them if we want split screen as long as they keep this bug...
Also not a fan of this new and worse split screen method. You press Home and both apps are gone.
