sideload OTA update on different phone version - Nokia 8 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I just wanted to check if anyone has sideloaded the available March OTA zip file for the TA-1004 on a different version of the device. like the TA-1012 or the TA-1052.
Do you think it is save to do ? If you have tried it, did it work? was there any problem?
Thanks!

I wouldn't do it. The 1004 is global dual sim, th 1012 is global single sim, and the 1052 works with china and taiwan bands and is dual sim. Small configurations on each of their respective roms could cause major issues on a different version.

I tried but the phone doesnt install the .zip cause is from a different model the errors say "Can not install for different 00W88........" etc

[Q] Questions and issues with L00 chinese version

Hello peoples,
Buying a P7-L00 can be interesting from China, with the dual Sim slots, but you have to know that the 4G will may be not work.
For exemple, i live in France and the only operator which is compatible with the L00 chinese 4g chipset is Bouygues. (All other ORANGE/SFR/FREE will be 3G) This is due to frequency use in their 4G networks, the P7-L00 support 3 out of the 4 channels frequency but all those operator only support the missing one.
So no 4G for this little phone, if not a Bouygues client.
Another thing: roms.
I installed TWRP and unrooted the device. Since then all official update are failing.
When i boot in twrp, and choose the update.zip file, it says that it is unable to check the zip file....
So im stuck with previous version, unable to install mui3.0.
So if people have a solution on how can i upgrade my device, would be nice.
Regards

Flash stock recovery, put update on sd card, and make force update.

Single sim ale-21 uk firmware

Purchased a SINGLE SIM P8 Lite from Carphone Warehouse (SIM FREE/UNCLOCKED/UNBRANDED). It has “ALE-L21C432B183” firmware and I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone now.
Unfortunately, there is an issue with this phone - battery discharging\draining despite disabling most of the apps and hardly been used…. This not normal at all. I am going to upgrade to Marshmallow to see if it helps, in fact, ideally start with a fresh firmware.
I would appreciate if someone can give me a link to an official Marshmallow Firmware that is compatible with SINGLE SIM UK phone (I am not interested in dual sim). Also, confirm whether I can upgrade from “ALE-L21C432B183” or do I need to do anything else.
Also, would be good if someone can provide a link to the original SINGLE SIM UK firmware, “ALE-L21C432B183” or something else.
Many Thanks
You have the same version as me. The phone is actually dual sim. You can either have one sim and an SD card inside the same slot, or lose the SD card for another sim instead.
I have been struggling for weeks now trying to get Marshmallow installed on the B183 with no luck at all. I hope you have better luck than me. If you get the update working, please reply back in here so I can copy how you did it
braders1986, I will try dual SIM later as now the battery drain is annoying me. lol
Installed ALE-L21C432B551 from http://m.huawei.com/itmobile/consumer/support/downloads/index.htm (just search for P8 lite, it says its for Single SIM) and gonno check if it improves battery performance at all. Unlocked it as well (although seems to be different method, messed up 2/3 times but reinstalled it). I used the force method to install.

N960F/DS doesn't seem to be flashing correctly, firmwares wont change

Hey guys, so the issue I have is this. I got a grey imported N960F/DS model and the first thing I did is flash the stock Australian firmware onto it. However Ive noticed that it still has the stock Singapore apps on it upon restart even though the flash of the aussie rom was successful. I also noticed that the baseband version did not change to the one stated on the aussie firmware, but the build number did. It did update the security patch also
Ive now tried it with multiple N960F roms and the same thing has happened with each, including the carrier specific Optus ROM so I could use VOLTE and it always appears to be the Singapore ROM, as no Optus software appears on the phone after the flash and VoLTE wont work. I tried using the patched ODIN 3.13B and it also did the same thing.
Is there something Im missing here? A setting Im not checking or something?
Are you using csc or home_csc in Odin? One wipes, the other doesn't.
I've tried both options, the same thing happens with either
Were you ever able to resolve this?

error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds - no idea whats do next :(

I bought a LM-V450ebw Dual SIM with android 8x, probably HongKong distribution. I've beed trying to flash it to EU/Polish ROM (android 10) with no possitive effect (I want to have volte and wifi calling - that's the main reason to update).
I've beed trying LGUP 1.14-1.16 with different LGDLL but no way to overcome "error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds"
Finally I tried to update to android 10 Hong Hong version and I succeeded (v30b-lao-yt). But still no success in moving to EU/Polish ROM (android 10) via LGUP - "error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds"
It looks like, there is no problem to move between HK version but no way to move from HK -> UE/Polish.
Of course LG Bridge doesn't help much.
What's wrong? Is there any way to do it without rooting?

For most of the variants all that's needed to crossflash is to use 1.14 and choose 'partition download'. But the HK dual sim variant is a pia. You can lose one or both sims if not done correctly.
I'd suggest, in rom forum see initial thread for lineage os and find invite to join v40 tele group. Ask there as those guys have much more international experience especially with dual sim variants.
cheers
Similar problem wit a new LM-V405EBW running Android 9 sec patch 1 June 2019
It is supposed to be an European version, came with a EU charger ...
Current software V20a-LAO-YT
Checked with a IMEI checker that said it is a DEC region phone.
It seems LG has removed V40 Thinq from the supported devices,
cannot get any OTA updates :-(
I want to install V405EBW30d_00_OPEN_EU_DS_OP_1223.kdz
latest DEC firmware I think.
When I try LGUP i get the same error mess as above
"error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds"
Tried both "refurbish" and "update" same error.
I don't mind to wipe the phone clean,
but when i select the "Partition DL" i get more than 10 options,
which one(s) should i select ?
Hope I can get some advice.

all of them except ftm. Then, when it finishes and reboots, do the refurbish (twice) with the same kdz.
cheers
Evening! I bring you a solution, it seems a strange solution, but after weeks of trying anyway, the only one that did not occur to me, is to disconnect it while I was flashing the rom that I put wrong to downgrade it, i cause a provocated brick, what is my surprise when insert the IBR rom (before it had the TIM) it started flashing without problem.
Mobile to repair: Lg K41S (LMK410EMW)
Use this version of the LGUP flash tool: LGUP_Dev-1.14 (patch)

Am able to flash stock rom but still no network. its says emergency calls only. i tried KOO, SKC flashing completes odin, boots up wells but no gsm network. That's why I even tried custom rom. am able to flash stock back but still nothing.
Am thinking could the issue be around corrupt imei? any ideas how to repair it. or possible csc issue? am currently in kenya. Btw the issue started after last security patch update. possible to downgrade to maybe Android 11? would that help?
Hello Bashir22, your model does not have an Er Europe chip plus a Korean so Europe is not possible with a sim card.
If you put a chip for the Europe network and you have a chip for Asia, it won't work.
My worry is it was working just fine till last update.

Dial *#0011# and check if you have your IMEI Status: OK, if it says anything other than OK then it should be a cert problem.
