Anyone else get an update today? The log Didn't list anything major. I've got it downloading now
Where are you from? What is the software version number now?
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
Downloading now. 108.58 MB. Will post back with build # (if different) when completed.
Updated to KOT49H.T800XXU1ANJ6 Kernel 3.4.39-2947015 [email protected]#1 Fri Oct 24 11:52:29 KST 2014 still 4.4.2. Just stability update I believe. I did notice the SD card notification is no longer appearing at boot! That alone was worth updating!
Also, update appears to be available on SamMobile and Kies.
just checked and i had the update too, i have the wifi only tm800
+1
Can you still root it with the new update? Crap its downloading for no reason! Im rooted! Edit: i stoped the ota update by freezing it with titanium backup. Can anyone confirm root ota?
dont really see what it updated
On a rooted stock rom with most of the samsung bloat gone, how will the update affect the situation?
Fixes Chromecast crash. When you used to stream videos or music to Chromecast (only google apps) the entire system.ui would crash when you pulled down the status bar. Samsung fixed it.
CF Auto root still works, and the full version of this rom is on the sammobile website for those who are rooted or want a full file.

I can still update ota even on root. Should I do so?
+1 for U.S.A. Any bets that all these updates may be to address their recent 'find my mobile' hack as well? I also got a Samsung security update just yesterday prior to this firmware update today.

Ohhhhh this explains it! Do you know if root works ota btw? I dont really use find my mobile since Im mostly home with my tab s lol.
Hopefully it's a combination of those things.
Canada region (XAC), just got it through OTA (it hadn't checked since the 27th so I forced the check). Went from ANFB to ANJ6. According to the Samsung Updates site, I went from Changelist 1933795 to 2947015; presumably there's more than just a few changes.
Can anyone confirm at this point that the chromecast issues have been resolved? If so, I'm planning on celebrating with a beer (and a ton of candy) and some serious casting from my tab tonight!

Yes, from what I can tell, the changes are:
- Nasty chromecast bug is fixed
- SD card notification after reboot is removed
- Animations are a tad smoother
The wifi/bluetooth bug with Sidesync is not fixed.
can anyone confirm if its safe to update on a rooted device?

I have the update available as well, it auto downloaded when I hit check for update so be aware.
Mine JUST started! Glad I caught it during download and shut the phone off. Just rooted yesterday and I'll be pissed if I lose it! lol. Hopped on so I could find what needed frozen in TiBu to stop it.

Opposite here. I took the update and want to root. According to the root thread, OE2 can be rooted so I should be good. We'll see.
So do I have to Odin back to stock? I really don't wanna do that!
Anyone know whats new?? :\

I don't know of any other options for you at the moment.
My S6 Edge is rooted and I can update if I want. If you want to update go to Software Update and do it.

Check in Software Update if you can update being rooted. My Edge is rooted and I can update if I wish.

Anyone else confirm? I've frozen my ATT software update in TB and I'm not on wifi right now. Don't want to use the data.
Let us know if you have root once you updated or if you can still root your phone.
You can't update OTA if you have root!

I'm not sure that this is very accurate. You may be able to download the update, but installing it is a whole different thing.

You can't root if you've installed the update either. I'm going to see if I can Odin back. Doubt it, but worth a shot.

Are you saying that you're rooted and that you simply have the ability to update but haven't taken the OTA? Or you've verified that your phone is rooted, taken this OTA and your phone is working fine? I didn't think you could take the OTA rooted.

So the OEM has patched the exploit from pingpongroot? Might hold off on the OTA now for a while longer.

It appears so. When I attempt to run the exploit, I'm notified that my device isn't supported yet. I'm not too worried as the team seems to be chewing through devices and updates at a cyclic rate.
So... most important thing to know here that nobody has mentioned...
How do you prevent it from updating if you're not rooted? Or is the answer to this question still "root the device" -_-

This is just my opinion, and since everyone has one, take it for what you will, but I've frozen the AT&T Software Update because assuming Samsung patches the root in the next update and sends it to the carriers to distribute, do you really want to do everything you can to get the next update even if you lose root?
Personally, I've done everything I could to get root, even if this cost me Samsung Pay which hopefully it won't, because someone smart enough on here will figure out how to patch the update with a ROM that we can flash later.....
Obviously that won't work right this second since we can't flash anything but Smart Switch / Odin stock junk, but assuming Safestrap or similar gets released, you can keep your bootloader lock all you want ATT, we'll just flash what we want over it!

I just confirmed that OE2 can be flashed back to OCE via Odin.

Haha, looks like I was updating my post at the same time you were posting.
What I was actually looking for was a way to do it without rooting seeing as we still have no confirmation regarding Samsung Pay functionality and root breaking it. At some point in the near future in my career, things like Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, etc are going to become useful so I need to have mine handy.
Title is self explanatory of what update is about. I'll let you guys know if there's anything else
For now Samsung Pay fails to initiate. Not sure if it's by design
Samsung Pay works for me after the update, still can't add any of my cards though.
Mine doesn't seem to want to update
Hmm, not appearing in Smart Switch for me yet.
All i get is loading loading loading. Better work on Monday or I will be a sad camper

Mine does the same thing. I wonder if it has anything to do with packages I disabled.
What do you mean packages? I didn't remove or do anything with any packages.

I disabled a lot of apps through Package Disabler Pro.
But I guess if you didn't disable anything that's not the issue.

is it true that all packages should be re-enabled prior to taking an OTA?
Does anybody have a odin flashable? Its not on samobile yet either.

i have a bunch of them disabled and didn't have a any trouble updating.
FIGURED OUT WHY SAMSUNG PAY WOULDN'T LOAD. I have lastpass installed and lastpass apparently kept it from unlocking. I opened lastpass first then immediately opened samsung pay and VOILA, it worked. This needs to be fixed somehow
I can't get the OTA on my phone. Just telling me I'm up to date.
Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk
I was just able to download it via Smart Switch; 1664 MB file. Almost grabbed the Odin flashable zip but didn't copy it in time before Smart Switch deleted it.
My Samsung Pay decided to initiate but it still says" coming soon"

It's probably a good idea to do that, specially with PDP having an option to export/ import your list of disabled apps.
Haven't run into any issues after taking OTA s but next time I'll take the time to re enable all apps before updating.
So got the switch back today and thought should i do this again to myself.... and thougt well root is more importent to me so i tried it with magisk latest... flashed all the proper and needed files booted but this time i didnt sign in with any accounts everything went smooth until i logged in about 5 mins after i checked if i had root which i had and after this i got a notifaction telling me security notice unauthorized actions have been detected and lost root magisk nolonger installed and dont want to reboot bevause i know i will brick... i have oem switch anyway i can save this??????
where can i download your rom?????
In the other thread where you posted this same post you said you flashed RMM state fix. What do you mean by "save this" & why do you think you are going to brick by rebooting? That's what the RMM state fix is for unless you are talking about something else.

I remember Sick rom for the Note 5. I suspect the OP is just using the banners. The dev who posted Sick rom is @SICKMADE, I don't think there is a Sick rom for the Note 8, if there is, I haven't seen it on XDA.

I've made a few Note 8 Roms I just never posted them... I shared with a few of my close supporters and that was it. I was in the middle of a new update and just yesterday getting into my car my phone slipped out of my pocket and as I was shutting my car door I slammed it right in the middle of my phone so now I need a new digitizer rofl. So back to the S6 Edge unfortunately for me for a while.
Hello, everyone. I believe there are at least hundreds of Nokia 7 plus users here and among them there are some unlucky users as well who use the Chinese TA-1062 version in which global android one rom is flashed and for that reason these users including me don't get monthly ota updates.
But today while going through one of the posts in XDA I found out that one kind person did upload a link to download the june update and because of him/her I was able to adb sideload the file and update my device to the june security patch.
So, its my utmost request to you please capture and upload the link whenever HMD global releases an update. It'll be a great great help for us. Thank you very much in advance.
Could you please post the link where you downloaded the June OTA? I'd like to try sideloading it on my phone to see if it can solve the loss of baseband (i.e. no Wi Fi / Mobile Network) that happened to my phone after rolling back from the P beta.
I'd love the link as well!
